Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Our third time to this resort

This was our third time to this beautiful resort. 2013 & 2015 our two sons, two daughter-in-laws and two grandsons enjoyed the resort. 2017 another grandson (8 Months) old joined our crew. The weather was perfect as always. We all loved our accommodations. We attended three al-cart restaurants and enjoyed all of them. Occidental Punta Cana: So very impressed!!!

We fell in love with Occidental from the moment we pulled up to the lobby! We couldn't have asked for a warmer welcome or a smoother check-in. Everyone was so eager to help us have the best stay possible. Our room was beautiful and the A/C was as cool as you wanted it to be. The staff was so respectful and always had a cheerful "hola" whenever we passed. The beach was so amazing! Plenty of chairs for everyone and lots of opportunity for shaded spots. The grounds are immaculately kept and the attention to detail is noticeable. The entertainment at night was great! The bars are well stocked and the Presidente ice cold! Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Fabulous Vacation

This place went above and beyond from the minute we arrived until we left not a single issue to complain about. Rooms were clean, maids kept the minibar stocked and towels fresh, the buffets always had something to eat even for my wife with allergies, pool and beach were gorgeous lots of places to sit, a la cartes had great food and courteous staff. Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: Now Onyx Punta Cana - AWESOME resort!

This resort exceeded expectations, we would highly recommend (but kinda' don't want to only because we'd like to keep the secret so that their future prices don't go up! lol) - We stayed as a couple in our early-40's. - Food was excellent, including the buffet....didn't have a bad meal. They even had healthy/natural options which was great! - Room was great...spacious & well designed. We elected for the "preferred club swim-out king" and it was perfectly located. "Preferred Club" was well  [... read more]worth the extra money; waiters were in abundance throughout the day, never went more than 10-15 mins. without a someone checking with us. Cleaning staff came around twice daily (I think due to being preferred club) which was great + a separate beverage service to fill up our mini-fridge and/or any other beverages we wanted. One of the best perks was the Preferred Club Lounges which not only had top shelf liquor but also had food/munchies morning to night. The P-C Lounge also enabled us to check out privately which went extremely smoothly. - Service all-around was OUTSTANDING @this resort.....from our butler, Manuel (who was awesome), to the Preferred Club Lounge bartenders & Concierges...and also the wait staff around the pools + on the beach. - The beach was amazing - MUCH better than Bavaro Beach - and not nearly as busy. We walked it every day, sometimes twice! We would definitely recommend this resort - easily the best resort we've stayed at thus far! The Reserve at Paradisus Punta Cana: 5 ***** Star, as promised!

The Reserve at Paradisus Punta Cana was exactly as promised .... 5 star luxury! Able to take advantage of all amenities of the larger Paradisus Punta Cana side knowing you can come back to the peace and quiet of The Reserve. Beach was beautiful, people are beautiful, pool, food, rooms, all beautiful! Thanks Melanie Miller from TripCentral for putting together a perfect vacation for us!!

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: This is a great resort

We have been at this resort numerous times and believe it's one of the best resorts to visit. We will be going back for a ten day stay next year. The staff have been great with us ,even when there is problems .

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Resort was great but food could use improvement

We stayed at Chic Punta Cana April 8-April 15th. We were in building two and had a swim up room. It was incredible!! Our butler, David Castillo, was beyond amazing! Our second butler, Carmen, was also great and we appreciate everything they did for us. The beach was beautiful but the water was very rough. You can't wade in the ocean and relax. I found there were a lot of people trying to sell things on the beach too and they come right up to you on you beach chair. I did not appreciate that. [... read more] The resort was beautiful! I wish there was a swim up bar in the main pool though. Also, they need more chairs around the pool and beach. If you aren't up by 8 am you won't have a seat in the shade. I loved the room service. we ordered breakfast every morning and ate on our deck. The food... The food needs improvement. We did let management know how we felt about the food as they are always coming around asking how things are. I had raw chicken one day. Food that is supposed to be cold isn't etc. I found the buffet very small and always had the same options. Also, the juices there, including orange juice, are not real and taste like tang juice. I missed having orange juice in my mimosa. I did love that the resort had top shelf liquor (we were diamond club) and coors light beer. Overall we liked the resort but I don't think we would be back.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Hit and Miss!

First let me say that the resort grounds are beautiful and well kept. I sent an email to the resort 3 weeks before our departure to request a room near the beach on the top floor (the same request was made when we booked the trip). We ended up on the main floor of building 60 which is close to the beach. When we arrived at our room, the safe wasn't working and the patio door wouldn't lock. Called the front desk and both were fixed a couple of hours later. Obviously we had to wait in our room unt [... read more]il both were fixed (different people fix different things). The next morning the toilet overflowed, we had toilet water all over the bathroom floor. Again I called the front desk and it was fixed about 90 minutes later. The repair man was leaving without cleaning the water on the floor, so we asked him to clean it up. He did with all our bath towels. Our room issues ended there but it wasn't a great way to start our vacation. The weather, beach and pool were very nice but the food was always cold. The service was not very good even after tipping the staff...not very many smiles. To be honest, I think they lacked motivation and that in my opinion is largely due to the way the resort is managed. Something is not right with the staff at this resort. I was expecting a lot better from this resort especially considering the price we paid and the start rating. Did I have fun yes....would I return no.

Riu Bambu: Beautiful beach

My family and I visited Riu Bambu twice, in 2007 and 2017. The hotel grounds are beautiful and nicely maintained. The beach is stunning, with lots of mature palm trees that provide plenty of shade. Beach loungers are abundant. The food was excellent, with lots of variety available. However the drinks on offer were not that great. There is no real orange juice, the alcoholic beverages were too sweet and syrupy. For us the best choice were red wine and beer. White and rose wines were too sweet.  [... read more]Coffee served for breakfast was good, together with specialty coffees available from the machine. The room we stayed in was closer to the beach and the main buildings. The resort has a mix of renovated and non-renovated rooms available. Renovated rooms are mostly at the back of the resort away from the beach. Our room was a non-renovated one. The room itself was good, but the beds were extremely uncomfortable. We asked reception staff for help in that mater but unfortunately they didn't accomplish much. At first they tried to remedy the situation by putting several blankets on top, under the sheets. That didn't help much, so after our third request they changed the mattress but to no avail since the new mattress was the same as the old one. We gave up after that. The staff in general is OK, but may seem grumpy at times. On the side note, the tennis courts were in a really bad shape, full of debris. The surface was gravel. We chose to go for one excursion to Saona island. It included a semi-submarine visit, snorkelling around it, speed boat ride to the island, lunch and catamaran ride back. We found it too expensive for what we got. The guide was very good, but we felt everywhere we went was way overcrowded. We couldn't see much from the submarine but our kids enjoyed snorkelling a lot. The island itself was very crowded as other tours come there too. The lunch provided was very good. The catamaran ride was the biggest disappointment, as it was really overcrowded, with barely any space to move.

Vista Sol Punta Cana: Vista Sol Punta Cana - mixed review

Grounds were well kept and gardens were well maintained, public areas were a safety concern due to ramps, water, and lighting. Pool areas were nice, beach setting wonderful, several free beach games and water toys available. Swim up bar didn't open at 3 as scheduled and many days did not open at all. Rooms had a musty, moldy odor. Theft from a room safe and and misleading taxi fares and pressure to 'sit through a sales pitch' left us leary of returning. Hair in pool drains. Ugh. Ala car [... read more]te restaurants were OK but not as good as expected. Language barrier between guests and wait staff. Served incorrect entre to guests and didn't know difference between almond cake and crepe suzette? Just wrong. Didn't get the feeling guests were valued. I do not plan to return.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Heaven on a beach!!!

The week of April 8th -15th my wife and I traveled to the Dominican Republic, we had no idea what was in store for us when we booked our 1 week vacation at the Majestic Mirage. Upon arrival we were told we would have our own personal butler (Lenny) Lenny picked us up and gave us a tour of his beautiful resort...my wife and I were in complete awe!!! Our room was always stocked with premium alcohol and snacks. Our butler Lenny made a personal point of insuring that our vacation was the absolute best stay possible, Lenny booked all our Ala cartes, and looked after any need that came up. Lenny was a 1st class embassador to the Majestic Mirage, Lenny was very proud to share everything his resort had to offer. Our 1st night we dined at the main buffet, we were simply amazed over the selection and at how delicious everything was. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, they were all very neat, no dinner plate or glass sat empty for more than 30 seconds before we were offered topups, as we left the buffet that 1st night we were in complete shock over our pleasant dinning experience. We spotted the dinning Manager (Ogledy), we made it a point of sharing our possitve experience with Ogledy, Ogledy was very appreciative and very proud of his staff. Ogledy made it a point that for the rest of our vacation that we had the absolute best vacation possible, Ogledy set up an amazing steak and lobster tail dinner for us, we were simply blown away with the quality of every meal from start to end. We had the privilege of eating at a steakhouse 2 nights, the steakhouse was amazing, the staff and service were amazing, we had the option of eating there everyday if we wanted too, we also ate at the Japanese restaurant, the chef put on an amazing show for us. Our overall dinning experience exceeded our expectations by leaps and bounds. Antonio Pares Vasquez was our omelet chef, he greeted us with a smile and an amazing personality every morning. I always ended my breakfast with a fabulous crepe made by Francisco. Every breakfast lunch and dinner was definitely far better than any other resort we have ever stayed at. I truly believe that other resorts should look at the Majestic Mirage, because the Majestic Mirage is the proper way a 5 star resort should be run. The beach is simply incredible, there was an abundance of shaded lounge chairs, also plenty of beach side beds. We walked along the beach in both directions, no other resort even came close in comparison, many other vacationers walked along the beach and stopped and we're in awe!!!over the beauty of the Majestic Mirage. Alex and Anna kept the entertainment going on the beach with plenty of activities. Drinks from every bar were of the upmost premium quality. This vacation was absolutely incredible, Ogledy took such amazing care of us, Ogledy is most definitely a true asset to this resort. Ogledy is a very kind and much welcomed member of our new Dominican family. Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort: Great resort

The sirenis cocotal resort was a nice resort! The grounds, beach and pool area were all awesome! The food was great as well!!! The bar staff especially Jackson were great! Also the staff in the buffets were good as well!! I would go back again!!! Weather was great as well!!

Bahia Principe Explore Turquesa: wonderful!

This resort is amazing and out of this world! We had a great family trip ! The food was amazing. The pool area was fun and never overcrowded. The beach was great too! The rooms were comfortable and spacious.

Riu Palace Macao: Wonderful Resort

The resort grounds were well kept and the resort is small so you can get to the dining areas and beaches just a short walk away. The food was excellent. The rooms could use some updating and the nightly entertainment definitely needs improvement.

Bahia Principe Explore Turquesa: Large, well maintained, family friendly resort

Grounds are beautiful and are we maintained as are the buildings. Between the buffet, snack bar and a la carte restaurants, there is a nice variety of food. Rooms are plenty big, cleaned each day, daily restocked fridge. So much for kids to do. Beautiful spa. The most amazing beach, even if it is crowded.

Secrets Cap Cana: **OVERBOOKED**

First and foremost the negative comments: Although we had booked a Junior Suite with Swimout, we were assigned an Oceanview room, a (downgrade). We were not the only guests in this situation. The hotel had grossly overbook the swimout category. In our minds a way to fill the hotel. After four hours and many conversations with various hotel staff. Catalonia Bavaro Resort: Amazing Resort

This hotel was amazing. The grounds are just beautiful with all the palm trees and flowers. They even have a Love tree that you can attach a lock on it for the married couples. The food was really good. The Steakhouse is the best. The staff was really great in all bars and restaurants. The rooms are nice and big. You have a big tub in each room. Might need a little maintenance in some rooms but nothing to complain about. Your not in your room that much anyways. Beach is nice and kept cl [... read more]ean the most they can. We stayed in building 20 so we had the perfect view of the pool. Long walk to the restaurant but doesn't matter because the walk there is very nice. Resort is not far from airport about 20 minute drive. Lots of tour options also in the area.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Amazing!!!!!!!

We were very impressed with this resort from the moment we entered the lobby. The staff approached us to take a drink order from us immediately which we were pleasently surprised. Also the staff was always very polite and could not help us enough if and when we needed help. I have a disability and needed a wheelchair (which was provided immediately)to move around the premises as walking too far tires me out quickly. My husband was very impressed with this also. The only downfall was that th [... read more]e resorts walkways were cobbles and it's very hard to push a wheelchair across these everyday for a week but my husband is a trooper as am I and just being at this resort smoothed this over for us. Between the lush tropical surroundings,well manicured premises,peacocks roaming around and the other exotic birds It seemed like we hit paradise. I would definately recommend this resort to everyone. Iberostar Waves Dominicana: `Clean and comfortable resort

Our trip to (Apr05/17) to Iberostar Dominicana was really good. The Puntacana airport is busy and is not wheel chair friendly. The resort is completely wheel chair friendly. There are 4 elevators and you can go to the beach by wheel chair. Also you can walk from beach to your room by bare feet. Beach is well maintained white sand and any body can go in to water. Rooms are big and comfortable. No problem with AC or hot water. The resort is big yet you can walk to the beach, your room and the  [... read more]lobby. Good selection of food with lots of fruits ,bread, meat and veggis. The beach restaurant is also good. the drinks are average. Entertainment is a waste of time except the Michael Jackson show. Iberostar Dominicana and Iberostar Puntacana are side by side, you can choose any one. We will go back again.

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: AWESOME!!!

My wife and I spent our honeymoon this April/17 at the Dreams Palm Beach Resort in PuntaCana Dominican Republic. This place was awesome. The service was exceptional and the cleanliness of the entire resort was unbelievable, right from your room to the beach.
