Gran Muthu Imperial: Not a Five Star

Gran Muthu Imperial Cayo Coco Cuba February 17-27/2020 Nice clean resort and a good size. Check in was quick and easy. They gave us a glass of orange just while we were waiting to check in which was nice. Porters were quick to take us and our bags to our room. This was great since we were on the 3rd floor. Room was clean and a good size. Reported that the ceiling fan was not working right and tap leaking next day and it was fixed quickly. There are 3 nice pools. We preferred the middle one. Fo [... read more]und that housekeeping around the pool needs improving. Excessive garbage and cigarette butts as well as small stones need to be cleared better. Activities at the pools looked like fun and people seemed to enjoy them we are not into those things but enjoyed watching others who did. They played music daily which sometimes was a little loud but enjoyed it. Staff was not very friendly. This was our 5th time to Cuba and have never encountered this before. I always tell people how friendly the Cuban people are. Since there is no beach it is hard to get a lounge chair. The first day we couldn’t even find a chair let alone a lounger. So you have to go down early in the morning like 6am to put out your towels to reserve a space. They say you can’t do this but everyone does. The food was adequate but have had better in Cuba. The buffet food was usually cold and under or over cooked. If you had something made fresh it was hot and cooked to the way you like it. The buffet area was not planned well. People waiting to have things cooked had to stand in front of other food items that people were trying to get to. So they had to keep asking people to let them get to the items. Some people got a little upset. There were not enough utensils for items at the buffet so I think there could be a lot of cross contamination of food. People just used whatever they could find. They kept running out of food at the buffet no one was checking. Breads were the high lite of the buffet but often crowded and out of supply. The snack bar food was cold. There were three a la carte restaurants. International was terrible. My husband ordered the lasagna and it looked like mush in a bowl. My stuffed chicken was cold and dry, mashed potatoes cold. The lady at the next table ordered the chicken and hers was the same but she didn’t even get potatoes. The Chinese restaurant was the best. We did have reservations for the sea food but didn’t go. It is at the other resort and is quite a walk. The bars are nicely located but they don’t carry or make the same drinks so we had to go to 2 different bars. Example my husband likes rum and cola and the snack bar kept running out of cola and that’s the bar that had wine that I like to drink. The bar that had the cola didn’t have wine. Spoke to a lady and she said she came to this resort last year and it was great. Food, service etc. but it has gone downhill. This is not a 5 star 3.5 to 4 at the most. With all things considered, I would not recommend your resort to my friends and do not intend to return in the future. With the greatest majority of your customers being from Canada it would be advisable to research the Canadian diet more closely.

Villa Tortuga: Mérite à peine une étoile

Buffet peu varié et pas très bon dans son entier. Vous devrez manger à l extérieur pour bien manger de temps en temps. Je ne recommanderais jamais cet hôtel. Belle plage , gens sympatique, pietre qualité des chambres et matelas de 1980.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: not amazing resort

resort is in deep declining for several years, in everything - but prices which are rising... only people that have been there before will know what I am talking about? + my "Antique" BOX TV was stolen from some museum and did not have a remote :-) + LA NINA Bar at the Lobby, according to their own admition, has only 4 glasses & 9 porcelain cups (for Cappuccino) - so PLASTIC is the King :-) + "24 hours" Snack Bar does NOT have the food 24 hours + in one wing of the hotel, noise from outside is  [... read more]unbearable - always almost till midnight + Show Programs are not every night, but nothing is advertised and you don't know about it + LaPinta AQUA Bar (lost the name) does NOT have beer, nor the other one in the pool at Bungalows + you CAN NOT go on internet (like before) if you didn't bring your device (cell phone is NOT a proper thing to use for that - I need a COMPUTER, and that service is shut down... list is tooo long... BUT, some things are VERY GOOD and it is difficult to spoil them: BEACH is 11 starz, and PEOPLE are GREAT !!!

Gran Muthu Imperial: Amazing resort!

My husband and I just came back from a two week vacation at the Gran Muthu Imperial. We had an amazing time. The resort is beautiful. Lovely beach! Our room had a spectacular ocean view and was kept nice and clean. There was always a good variety of food in the dining room. We really enjoyed the entertainment every night. The staff and service were great!

Hotel Camino del Mar: Average resort

there was no "hot" water - fixtures in the bathroom were pretty old. toilet issue having to flush 3 times advised not to throw paper in the toilet Service was very good - people very accommodating Food was okay but not much variation

Gran Muthu Imperial: soso

hotel is very clean no tippy maid most time no beer food is not american or even close bread is a 10 beer a 10 the rest a 5 the service in the snack bar is a joke the main buffet is a scramble bacon not cooked but can be done while your omelet is burning

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Ok Resort

Rooms were very clean!. Food was simply okay though, not enough choices. Staff was awesome!! Always a smile on their face and really welcoming. Entertainment was all right. But maybe they should think about adding diversity for some evening (standup comedy show, magic etc.) . It was really a lot of dance choreography.

Playa Costa Verde: Great resort with amazing beach

Staff were great. Food was allright. Beach was amazing nice clear blue water with a reef making it great for snorkeling I was busy for hours. The rooms are very outdated and shower/tub is hard to get in and out of.

Playa Costa Verde: Lovely resort and staff!

From the time we arrived to the time we left our experience at this resort was great. Rooms were very clean, lots of variety at the buffet, beach was fantastic (bring water shoes....a little rocky in some places) and the staff were awesome. Wifi was a little hit and miss but I didn't travel there to stay "connected" for long periods. Reception seating could use some updating but for the amount of time it was needed, it was fine. Gran Muthu Imperial: Always waiting in line

We enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly and eager to help. I found we were always waiting in line for something; drinks, food (waited in line twice for over 40 mins at the buffet), even the bathrooms. To order "a la carte" was a 45 minute wait. Check in was over 30 minutes wait. Twice I attempted to change my beach towel. First time they ran out by 4pm and then at 10 am on another day they had no towels due to the laundry service. Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Great Experience

It was my fiancé’s first time visiting Cuba and this resort impressed us with their food, (especially the Italian a la carte), nightly entertainment and live music. Would recommend for families and retired couples.

Playa Vista Azul: Worst experience ever

Absolutely disappointed with our stay. Rooms were typical although we had dirty used soap and towels were sparse. Pool was ok but the large bed loungers were broken or filthy and smelled disgusting. Two very small beach areas with not enough lounge chairs crammed together with other resorts. Beaches were rocky and had lots of coral and shells making it very difficult to walk on and get in the water. Absolutely the worst food ever with the same items being served each day. Long line ups due to poor staffing in the snack bars. Waited over an hour for a hotdog. We are by no means picky but finding something to eat that was enjoyable was a struggle even their fruits and fresh juices smelled rotten. Alcoholic drinks were hit or miss with not as much of a selection as other resorts. Staff didn’t go out of their way to help and weren’t all that friendly. Definitely should not be rated as a 5 star, a low 3 is being generous. Very over priced resort without the 5 star amenities!!!!

Melia Varadero: Close but no cigar

my father and I stayed at this resort and I hoped for a bit more. I keep in mind that Cuba is not Vegas but there were small things that were definitely lacking. Overall we were pleased but small things could have made this stay better. The cheapest plastic cups. A swim up bar 2m away from service. No hot tub. 24 hour bar food was not good. The hotel also lacked ambience. Past 11 you might as well go to bed. Nothing at all to do

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Ocean holiday

I will start with the positive . Excellent beach, great hospitality, clean room, friendly staff & good entertainment. The negative, no spoons, no vino blanco, only cola for mix at some of the bars. CAUTION when swimming at the beach found broken plates near shore in the water found while snorkelling. In all typical Cuba vacation, can’t beat the weather.

Grand Memories Varadero: Terrible Resort

First time to Cuba, and will never go back. The resort was dirty and not maintained. The service was terrible, no one would acknowledge you or even say hello. The rooms were decently clean but there was no hot water & you couldn’t get fresh towels/ or sheets. The alcohol was limited & zero ice. The buffet food was disgusting, the served the same food everyday. The disco was only open from 11:00-1:00. 24HR snack bar was limited to 1 sandwich and it took more then 45 minutes to get served. Gran Muthu Imperial: Beautiful Resort

My sister and I enjoyed ourselves immensely. The resort itself is gorgeous with the friendliest staff. We did the three ala cartes and would definitely do the Chinese and International again. Unfortunately we were disappointed with our choice at the seafood ala carte. The grounds and our view was gorgeous. We would definitely go back if we have the opportunity to do so.

Paradisus Los Cayos: Excellent resort

The staff are the main plus quickly followed by the high standard of facility. The resort is only about 14 months old and still really shows its "newness". Rooms, public areas and grounds are very well maintained. Staff treated us very well. Always a smile from everyone. Would definitely go again. Have already recommended to friends.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Amazing Beaches and Friendly Staff

Memories Caribe is "quaint and cozy" with many choices for your meals and buffet options. Most amazing is the beaches. I have been to DR, Mexico and Bermuda and I found the beach here the MOST beautiful with the unbelievable teal waters and sand bars. A shout out to the wonderful and friendly staff, to name a few John at the front desk, Darma at the book shop, and my favorite Chef from the omelette station and fried rice station. Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Great resort, great staff.

Great resort and fantastic staff.Lots of activities on the beach with the sailing kayaking...etc. Be careful as you enter the water on the beach lots of rocky spots that one can get bruised,scraped or cut easily. I suggest you wear a beach insert on the feet. Food is good drinks are even better. Make sure you make reservations for the a la carte restaurants. We were told we don't need them but after a few days in we were told that we had to have one .

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Amazing beach

We stayed at the Memories Flamenco between Feb. 18 to 26, 2020 and had amazing vacation. Checking In was quick, staff at the checking desk courteous and very helpful. Our room was in building #6 3rd floor, was spacious and clean. Cleaning staff did excellent job, helpful and always in good mood. Buffet restaurant had lot of variety and very fresh. Entertainment staff did good job in preparing different activities. Overall, we had excellent time, love the people there as they try very hard to please their customers. Beach it’s breathtaking, plenty chairs to lounge on and we walked on the beach for 6 to 8 KM each day, sometimes twice. Yes I would recommend this resort to friends.
