Grand Sunset Princess: Great Resort!!

This was my second stay at the Grand Sunset Princess in the last year. Much like my previous stay you really can't say anything bad about this resort. The grounds are very well maintained, the rooms are clean and well maintained. I stayed in a Deluxe Junior Suite in the closest building to the beach and it was perfect for us as we spend most are days at the beach and not the pool. The walk to the lobby I do not consider to be a long walk however others in my party whose rooms were not close  [... read more]to the beach found the walk to be a little long however there is the little trolley that runs all day from lobby to beach but if you miss it you may have to wait ten minutes or so for the next round trip. There were a few extras that were not there last year when I visited which I thought were nice added touches i.e. Drink carts at the pool deck areas offered different drinks every day at no charge and in the evening there was a cart outside the buffet restaurant that made speciality coffees (Spanish, Irish, Mayan, Italian, etc) which were so very good with fresh whip cream on top!! This year took the shuttle into Playa Del Carmen for 50 pesos each way which was great and convenient and cheaper than a cab ride (although cab ride not expensive either). Food - Buffet restaurant served decent food. Good selection and everything was very tasty. The only negative comment I would make are their posted signs of what each food item is are confusing as they aren't necessarily in the order that the sign indicates as well the writing on the signs are super small and hard to read. Also they should add more staff at the omelette station in the mornings and at the grill/pasta stations in the evenings. Getting an omelette made sometimes took upwards of 15 minutes just standing in line as there was only one cook same with grill station in the evenings. All in all this resort is perfect for families and is a good value for the price. Other negative I think is important to mention is the condition of the pool by way of missing tiles only. Various sections of all the pools had missing tiles. I'm sure that there must be a way of repairing the missing tiles without having to drain pools. This could be dangerous in fact one member of our party cut his toe on one of the areas where the tiles were missing and required a hospital visit and stitches. Have to say however that the hotel management arranged and paid for his transportation to private hospital and paid for the medical bills!!

Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya: Great Resort

This resort was very good. I enjoyed my stay and would have like it to be longer. The rooms were very clean and the staff responded very quickly to assist with any issues. The food was excellent and plentiful. The pools were very large and clean. The beach area was pretty small but was very safe because of a barrier wall that kept the waves at bay. All the employees of this resort were excellent.

Grand Palladium Riviera Resort And Spa: WOW

Literally everything about this resort is amazing. The food (even the buffet, especially the restaurants) was top notch. For the buffet I especially enjoyed the fried cheese and the white chocolate fountain. As far as restaurants, the Japanese restaurant absolutely killed it! One worker in particular named Cecilio who was driving carts was extra helpful. He drove me around to at least 2 different areas on my own while I was searching for a lost Ipod and jacket. He sensed my urgency and went above and beyond to help me out. As a joke I nicknamed him "Fire-Catcher" which I think he found humorous. Rooms and pool were all properly sanitized and I really felt safe on the resort. At no time did I want to go home, even when the trip was over. We met up with another worker in particular, Oscar, who was an awesome game-host and brought us to play some darts. He recognized me everyday and was an awesome friend to have on the resort. The shows were also great, especially a fire show. The beach is amazing. We couldn't have asked for a better setting for the wedding of my two best friends. Really, cheers guys! You made us all very happy.

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Great resort for families

Overall we had a really enjoyable stay at Azul. As a person who has only ever done one all inclusive prior to this, we had a great experience. Don't get me wrong there are areas for improvement, but nothing that would impact a reasonable persons stay in any way. Grounds were immaculate, food was overall very good. Bit of a range, some very good, some above average. But lots of options. Pool, beach, staff were all also really good. Overall definitely recommended.

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Nice vacation but not a five stars

This hotel was nice and clean but the pool needs some maintenance. Bedroom size is perfect. Food was pretty good in general, especially Aroma, Rodeo Grill and bruschetta a la carte restaurant. Service was also good in overall hotel, both at restaurants and bars. They don't have premium alcohol such as Baileys or Bombay gin. That was disappointing. Their shots are no good either. There is a foam party on Saturday starting at 3 pm and resort feels more like being in Cancun. Would suggest  [... read more]these parties be reserved more for Cancun than Mayan Riviera. I would say this resort is between a 4 and 4.5 stars. Would not return, even doubting I would go to any Princess again.

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Perfect for families best entertainment

Hotel was immaculate service exceptional and the team really does all they can to entertain the kids. Really good shows for adults as well along with activities. Highly recommend this resort for couples looking to relax or families with kids. The diamond club looks really nice too. Only think didn't like the sales pressuring upon arrival to resort.

Grand Riviera Princess: Amazing!!!!

The hotel was amazing, my room was 100% amazing. I can't say enough about this place and everyone was helpful, I traveled alone while waiting for my daughter to arrive on another flight, so I was nervous not sure where to go the gentleman at the front walked with me to where I was to check in as it was in the family side..I so appreciated it!!! The beach, pool and food was excellent and I do hope to return again. Thanks so much!!

Barcelo Maya Palace: Beautiful, huge resort

We really liked this resort. It's very family oriented. We travelled with our one year old son and there were lots of other people there with babies and toddlers. If you're travelling as a couple and looking for a lot of quiet and relaxation it may not be your number one choice. Although, they do have an adults only pool which looked really nice and you can also reserve Bali beds in that area (not sure of price). It's quite a large resort and we did A LOT of walking. Our room was almost at the v [... read more]ery back and it's quite a ways to the pool and to the lobby/food area. If you're not very mobile or don't enjoy lengthy walks this might not be the place for you. The pool was a lot of fun and is absolutely huge. Rooms are very nice, only complaint was the very hard and uncomfortable mattress (felt like there were springs in my back) Buffet was average- could always find something to eat. A la cartes were quite nice with the French restaurant being our favourite of the 3. Didn't really spend much time at the beach but there were always lots of chairs. Just not a lot of shade. Overall I'd rate it a 4/5 and would recommend to anyone traveling with young children

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Beautiful, Huge Resort

This resort is beautifully landscaped and located on the best beach in the Mayan Riviera. You will never be bored at this resort and you will always find comfort whether sitting by the pool or on the beach. There are plenty of activities and entertainment throughout the day and night. Furthermore, the food is great at the buffets with enough variety. The a la cart restaurants are definitely worth booking especially the Japanese and Steakhouse. Grand Riviera Princess: Beautiful Resort

I went with my fiancé and daughter (she's 9 months old) and my mom booked last minute. My mom got a better room then is, she was on the family side which made no sense because she was alone and we had an infant so that was kind of frustrating, however the resort itself is absolutely stunning. Very modern and clean. Always people cleaning the pool and grounds. The food was a hit or miss. At the la carts the food was fantastic other wise the buffet was pretty basic. Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Gorgeous location! Don't arrive on a Saturday afternoon though...

Everything was spot on except the reception desk, food, drinks were great... service and staff were friendly except for the reception desk... We flew in on a Saturday evening and reception only had two people working then, never seen such Kaos in my life! They were very unfriendly and not professional at all. When we left the next Saturday at noon, there were bus loads of people arriving I would say over 200 inline and they must of had over a two hour wait to check in on a Saturday hot afterno [... read more]on, no air conditioning in the lobby! We were able to check out, but that took 45 minutes. People were yelling at the 4 receptionists, everyone was just miserable! Beyond that, Barceló is a great place to stay for the $$.

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Amazing 3rd visit

This was our third time staying here and we won't stay anywhere else in the Mayan Riviera. The hotel and staff are amazing. You feel welcomed the second you arrive. The grounds are emmaculate and the food is top notch. You never want to leave; it truly is that amazing.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Amazing Resort!

We had a great time at the Grand Bahia Príncipe Coba! The food and service was great. I had a couple of concerns coming to this resort. Neither turned out to be a problem at all. One being the distance of the resort from the airport. Hardly noticed it either way. Second was the beach being a bit farther away. Again, not a worry at all. With all of the trolleys going we never had to wait. My kids loved the water park. I would return to this resort in a heartbeat!!

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Had a great time at Grand Bahia Principe Tulum

Myself and 6 of my friends took a trip to Mexico May 10 - May 17 2017 and we had the most amazing time. We stayed at the Grand Bahia Principe Tulum and were very happy with everything! The customer service was amazing they made sure we had everything we needed and If we had an issue it was solved, the rooms were well kept a cleaner came in every day, the mini fridge was always stocked with chips, pop and beer, the food was the best food I've had at an all inclusive and offered a large variety, t [... read more]he beach was amazing if you walked down closer to the reef you could see hundreds of fish, we saw turtles and sting rays right off the beach too which was so cool and spent a lot of our days at the pool, the drinks were always well made and the excursion we went on was a lot of fun. We got to snorkel in fresh water cenotes, zip lined and repelled, were served a nice lunch and we got to see the beach of tulum and the ruins. Our excursion was an extra $130, but very worth it. I would 100% recommend staying at the Grand Bahia Principe Tulum, there was always something going on, whether it was a magic show, acrobatics, day time pool activities, on site casino and club and trollys from the Coba to Tulum. Breathless Riviera Cancun: Wonderful resort

First and foremost this was a spectacular resort. I will list the pros and cons: Pros: -Stunning grounds and rooms -Extremely pleasant, accommodating, kind staff. Language not an issue. -Very clean and safe. No worries about use or drinking of water but did stay away from trying water from room tap. -Weather amazing. Even when some times overcast and cloudy/ bouts of rain, you need SPF as rays very strong. -Nighttime brought with it romantic feel when walking grounds with lighting and f [... read more]ireplaces throughout resort. -Fluent transport through airport and between airport and resort -Only about a 20 min car ride from airport to resort. -Kibbeh restaurant amazing staff and food. Breakfast unreal. X-hale only. -Xhale pool amazing from the service to the romantic and relaxing feel. People who use this pool were fun, respectful, and mature. Cons: -Food at restaurants so-so. Loved the Italian. Never went to French though. -Room service surprisingly good for dinner anyway. Breakfast not so good. -Swim out room pretty but would not do again. Water in swim out very cold. Also may have comtributed to the extreme 24-7 humidity. Shower in middle room didn't help either. -Needed a makeup mirror in bathroom. I know this sounds petty but mirror very deep away from edge counter and lighting poor around room to use other mirrors. -Fitness Center definitely geared for males. Lowest weight 7.5 lbs. and machines scaled for larger people. Nice and clean and up to date though. -Xcelerate pool brings with it a different crowd. I didn't think I would mind the fact that there are topless women but it did have the feel of a cheesy swinger-like area with women up dancing topless and kind of strutting their stuff. Either way one knows when going to that pool that that may have that feel I guess so personal choice. -pushy attempts to cell spa coupons. Pleasant interactions yet don't want to be co tinually asked if we want to go to the spa. -Beach not good at all. We knew this going into the trip but as not beach people decided to book anyway. Thing we didn't consider was negative effect on view and inability to walk he beach in am or during time there. -nightlife so-so. Show each night at 10-1030 in theatre like room and the After Dark fun smaller venue for dancing. Really resort winds down by 11. Overall I definitely would recommend this resort. Was a wonderful 7 days there. Resort has a lot to offer and staff delightful. The 3 pool choices offers something for everyone or, in our case, the opportunity to mix it up some.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Never again...worst hotel management staff!!!!

Here's an overview of our experience at the Ocean Riviera Paradise: DAY 1 - Our arrival, Sunday May 7th: When we arrived at the resort we proceeded to check into the hotel. The hotels check-in representative, Uriel told us that he could only find 2 out of the 5 reservations. Uriel told us that the 3 families did not have a reservation in there system. Uriel told the 3 families that in order to receive a room they would have to stay in the Daisy suites. The 3 families had to sign a document  [... read more]for Daisy Suite. For 2 of the families they gave them both document to sign for "what we were told" was for the Eden Suite. All of this process took 2 hours at check in. Everyone went to there assigned rooms, however when I and the one of the families went to our section of the resort, we realized that our key card was not for the Eden section it was for the Daisy section. We immediately contacted our sunquset rep here in Mexico, Antonio and Paul. Much couldn't be done until the next day. Day 2, Monday May 8th: All 5 families met with Antonio from Sunquest at 9am. We explained to him our check in experience and our missing reservations and the room category booking. Antonio spoke with manager prior to our arrival that morning to find out that the hotel over booked the Eden section of the resort. Which wasn't our problem. Antonio did the best he could with resorts management staff and told us that they would move all 5 families to the Eden suites as originally booked, however we would all need to wait until the following day Tuesday May 9th or receive a credit for the downgrade between both room categories. We all decided to make the change. Later that day at around 3 pm we spoke to Wendy our travel agent representative from Trip Central and she reassured us everything would be adjusted (Wendy is amazing!) The Sunquest representative, Antonio followed up with us every moment and did the best he could do to communicate and liaise between us and the hotel. Day 3, Tuesday May 9th: All 5 families packed their suitcases and prepared for the room change. At 9 am we met with Antonio and a hotel representative, Regoberto who explained the process of the room change. We were told to place our luggage at the door in our room and keep our room keys and to check back with front desk at 3pm for our new Eden Suite keys. All rooms were ready and we received our new room keys. Laura Iafrate went to the new room to find that there was only one bed for their family if 3. They had to walk back from the Eden section to the lobby with all their luggages. Laura and her husband were extremely upset with the front desk staff. The front desk staff said that they made the changes to accommodate the original reservations but could not guarantee a room with 2 beds. If they had explain this before wasting time with move, Laura would not if made the move. Laura and her husband demanded to be moved back to the Daisy suite because the suite had 2 beds. When Tony and I arrived to our new Eden room we found small black bugs all over the bed. We immediately called down to the front desk and they asked us to go back to the main lobby to explain the problem with the new room that we were assigned. So we walked all the way back to the lobby. By this time is was nearly 6:30pm. We were so fed up with the chaos we had to endure the first 2 days, we asked to be moved back to our old room in the Daisy section. They agreed to move us, but we had to sign a waiver. The document was written in Spanish and we couldn't understand it. The front desk representative Carmina explained to us that we would not receive a credit for moving rooms as it's a downgrade. By the time Carmina received approval from the resort management staff the time was about 8:00 pm and we hadn't had dinner, seen our family and we were exhausted. We signed the document. I took a photo of it for our records. Carmina called for a personal cart ride by Giovanni at the concierge desk. Giovanni took us to pick up our luggage from Eden to old room at the Daisy section. We showed him the bugs and he said that the resort had a tendency to over book the Eden section of the resort. Giovanni was very nice and gave us a bottle of wine. Day 5, Thursday May 11th: We returned to our room at 10pm from a full day of being at the pool, beach and going into town 5th Avenue. There was NO water for taking a shower, NO water to flush the toilet, NO water came out of the bathroom faucet. Completely, ridiculous, right ?!?!? I called the front desk and the told me that there is construction taking place and that water would be restored in 30 minutes. Day 10 - Departure day! Checked out of the hotel at 11:30 am. Process took 5 minutes. We handed back our room key and towel cards. Sunquest shuttle bus was scheduled to depart the hotel at 12:50 pm. Our flight was scheduled for 4:30pm. We asked the front desk representative what time the buffet opened for lunch to grab a bite to eat before leaving on the shuttle, they said it opened at 12 noon. We all headed over to the buffet to find out that the buffet was closed until 12:30 pm. We asked if we could get in a little early 5-10minutes before opening so that we can have some time to eat, they said NO. We were so upset and annoyed. We literally had 15 minutes after they opened to eat quick and get to the lobby to catch the shuttle bus. A few things about the resort: Trolly service The trolly service between lobby, resort sections and A la Cart restaurants is extremely slow. They only had one trolly running. We spoke to the concierge desk about this and they said that they have 2 trolleys and they run during peak times, but this was not true. This was difficult especially for people that are older and can't walk for a long time. Pools Pools were very nice, But were very dirty and not cleaned often. The concrete around the pools were not cleaned often either. Waiter staff poured drinks that were not consumed into the plants near the pool which brought bugs. None of the shower stations near the central pool areas worked. There was only one bartender at the pool bars and had to wait awhile for drinks. There was not enough staff to attend to guests. Beach Although from a distance the beach and beach pool looked beautiful, when we spent time we noticed the sand was not raked like at most resorts and garbage was left around by people probably because there were not enough garage containers. There were shower stations on the beach to rinse of the sand before going in the pool, but several of the stations were in the middle of the sand so you had to walk through the sand to get to the pool. The other shower stations were in locations close to the pool on the beach, but you had to walk through the sand to get to catch the trolley. The waiter staff poured all the liquid from drinks into the sand causing allot bugs to gather at the beach chairs. A la Cart Restaurants: let's just say the buffet was better! The a la Cart restaurants had a ridiculous wait time after being seated. Waits 1 hour at the Steakhouse and 2 hours at the Mexican this was extremely frustrating. We stuck to the buffet for the entire trip.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Would return!

Great service, great modern rooms, great food and great people! It's been an amazing trip and we would definitely return again. The only thing I would say is to have more food choices in buffet but restaurants were amazing!

El Dorado Seaside Suites: Everything we wished for and more!

My husband and I went to celebrate our 10th anniversary. We wanted a resort that was not too big and that had the feel of being isolated. This resort had all that and more. The food is to die for. The staff are so friendly. The room is amazing. Nothing better than wake up looking at that ocean having a pool right at your balcony. We had such an amazing time that we are already planning our trip back :)

Grand Sunset Princess: Perfect Resort for how You want to experience the Mayan Riviera

For My first, and my Girlfriends 6th trip to Mexico, we picked The Grand Sunset Princess and from the experience we had, we will only be staying at the Princess Resort in any future trips to the Mayan Riviera. The resort is a quick cab ride from the Cancun Airport and Playa del Carmen, surrounded by lush Jungle and a beautiful beach. The resort is large, and diverse in Scenery, Activities, Clientele, Dining. The Grounds and Rooms were kept immaculate by a hard working, Friendly, Helpful and  [... read more]Fun Staff, which made me appreciate the surroundings more. The swim up Suite we stayed in was central to everything at the resort so walking to the beach, buffet, lobby, bars, restaurants wasn't a big deal, and a major part I enjoyed. My Girlfriend loved waking up in the morning and walking into the quiet pool off of the semi private deck. The food was good. The coffee was awesome. The drinks never ended. So many free activities you can't do them all. The beach had nice sand, and was a great place to play in the waves, or in my case, spend a night under the full moon then wake up to a breathtaking sunrise. Parasailing was the best way to see how nice the location truly is.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: AMAZING!!

This resort is incredible. Food, pool, grounds, people. Everything just amazing :) We did a couple day trips also....everything was organized and no problems at all. We would highly recommend this resort.
