Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Absolutely Amazing!!!

This was our first time going to an all inclusive resort and The Majestic Colonial in Punta Cana was beautiful! All the staff were very friendly and accommodating! The rooms are very clean and well maintained...beautiful. the service was amazing! The food...all kinds of different cuisines and it was yummy!! The grounds around the resort and the beach beautiful!! Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Cofresi Palm Beach Resort - Puerto Plata

The people at this resort are very friendly and helpful. The food was good. There are many stairs here for getting around and this is one of the negative things about this resort. There’s too much walking and climbing up and down the stairs. I had sore legs after only two days. You can take a shuttle van to save all the walking in this large resort. The beach was not good as there were bad smells coming from the sewers right onto the beach. This was most unhealthy for visitors coming to  [... read more]stay at this resort. I only went swimming once in the ocean as there was a huge amount of sea weed that covered me when trying to swim and it stayed on me until I came out of the water. I would suggest getting some of the workers to clean up the beach to make it more inviting for visitors to your resort. I don’t think we’d come back because of the many stairs to climb and the poor beach conditions.

Breathless Punta Cana Resort: Just not for us ....

Our experience at this hotel was not a good one. From the moment we checked in until the day we left we had several issues. We are not difficult people to please. We are simple and want to enjoy a nice holiday. As soon as we checked in we were immediately harassed by individuals trying to sell us shares. This continued on for days until we threatened to file a complaint against them. Our room was below average. The maids completed the most basic cleaning they could. Make the bed, refresh the towels and wipe the floor. Our shower and sinks were not cleaned the entire time we were there. The doors and the walls in the room were filthy. One of our cupboard doors fell off the hinge the day we arrived and was only fixed the day before we left (day 9), despite many requests. The grounds were clean and the resort looked very pretty at night with all of the lights. There are 2 pools. The main 'party' pool and then a quieter pool closer to the beach. We did not set foot in the 'party' pool. We saw some interesting things go on and decided to stick to the other pool. I'm glad we did. The party pool was like a frat party. Clothing optional, etc. The second pool was nice and we spent most of our time there or at the beach. They allow smoking at this resort ….anywhere you want to smoke, you can light up. In the pool, beside the pool, at the beach. Despite all of the smoking the grounds were kept clean. Except the beach - there were a lot of cigarettes and cigars in the beach sand. You could find areas that were cleaner than others and this is what we did. The water and the beach itself was really beautiful. The food was ok - the main buffet was pretty plain. The restaurants however did have very good food. We passed on the buffet and went to a restaurant every night. They were all delicious. The weather was our saving grace for 10 days. It was exceptionally beautiful with blue skies and lots of sunshine.

Iberostar Waves Dominicana: Excellent Resort

We have been to Punta Cana several times. This resort exceeded our expectaton. I would highly recommend it! The staff were very friendly and the standard of service was just amazing. We will definitely return next year.

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Scenic Resort

Lovely, clean, small resort! Excellent buffet and a la carte restaurants! Very scenic location and not too far from the airport. Entertainment in the Lobby Bar every evening and activities at both the beach and main pool daily. The beach is small but there is no problem finding a lounger. The staff is friendly and works hard to meet your needs. Lots of stairs and walking - challenging for those with mobility issues. A great stay!

Occidental Punta Cana: Beautiful resort - terrible food - spotty service - very annoying vendors.

Lovely grounds, beach is great, pools were great. Service was very spotty, but the food was absolutely terrible. We had heard that the food at all-inclusives was generally poor so we were prepared with low expectations but this was unbelievable. Also the main bar is in a massive lobby and is not a friendly environment - very bright, noisy, poor service. They run out of napkins and coffee cups in the buffet every morning. They run out of beach towels everyday.

Viva V Samana by Wyndham: Paradise away from home

This hotel was amazing. Beautiful beach and grounds. So peaceful and quiet. Perfect size. Excellent food and variety. The entertainment staff is great. This is not a roudy resort , so if that is what you are looking for this wouldn’t be for you. The landscapes and views are amazing. The beach is so clean :)

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Amazing vacation!!!

Everything about the hotel was perfect! This was our second stay, first time as royal golden and would definately book royal golden again! Our room was the first building at the beach and pool, everything was close to our room. The food was delicious and the beach was beautiful. We had a very nice and sunny week, can't wait to go back next year.

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Quite the disappointment...

My buddies and I had a late flight in, and arrived at the hotel at 7:30pm Dominican time. Despite rooms typically being ready by 3pm, our room wasn't ready for us. The maid was sloshing a bunch of dirty water across the floor in a panic, our A/C unit was leaking and dripping through the ceiling, the lock-box/safe was a tiny metal box screwed to the wall with 1 screw... (as if this is somehow acceptable and safe for me and my guests to leave thousands of dollars, our cellular devices, our jewelry [... read more] and our passports in?!?!?) What a joke! Then we realize that the lock-box/safe doesn't even have a lock or combination pad... and that we had to rent a lock and key from the front desk for $21 USD. Once we had rented the lock and key, we then realized that the safe itself was damaged and that the door wouldn't allow the lock to fit into it regardless. We proceeded to sit in our rooms for 3 hours, while waiting for a hotel staff to come and solder the box, to allow the key to fit. If that wasn't enough; our toilet flooded after the first flush. I have traveled to 23 different resorts, and it's safe to say that this resort was one of the worst resorts I have ever visited. My friends and I were transferred to 3 separate room locations within 2 days, before agreeing to pay for an upgrade to the privilege side of the resort. All three rooms had broken A/C units, and we spent the entirety of our stay in a 26-28deg C room. I will could not be more displeased.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Absolutely Fantastic!!

We stayed here April 2 - 9, 2019. We had an excellent time. Our trip was booked through tripcentral, and the travel was effortless (Moncton to Toronto to POP). The resort was not the largest, but amazing in all areas. Great food, room, stocked fridge, pool, beach, miles of beach to walk on, good snorkeling, grounds were meticulous, our room attendant (Lydia) did an amazing job, and she was very friendly. The resort is a few minute walk to a local mall, and the mall has about 50 interesting stores with decent prices. If your adventurous, you could do what we did; walk to the main road, take the public bus (beat up minivans with no side doors - $1 pp each way) to downtown. There is a store called Jumbo, which is like a dominican walmart...only much cleaner and organized than our walmarts. The local bus will drop you right beside it (they pronounce it Yumbo). We were extremely satisfied with this resort, and we will definitely consider going back again.

Grand Sirenis Tropical Suites: Great Vacation Experience!

Just got back from 7 days and overall had a great experience. We booked a junior suite which was clean, and spacious. Fridge is stocked with a bottle of rum, pop and water only, if you are looking for beer you won’t find any.The grounds are well kept, and very beautiful, clearly they are trying to keep as many trees on the property as possible. You can see this since some of the walkways were built around the trees. The Pool was meters away from the sandy beach making it very easy to visit both every day. Public washrooms were kept very clean, and always were well stocked. All the staff were extremely friendly, there are a few that made our stay that much more enjoyable. If you are looking for a banana mama made with fresh bananas look for Dariel at the swim up bar! Wilson at the beach bar always happy and cheerful, remembering your favourite drink. The lobby bar had a great atmosphere at breakfast you could always get a mimosa or cappuccino served by a friendly face- Jimmy and Luis.At night the lobby bar got a little more lively and not only a great place to meet people from all around, but the bartenders kept everyone entertained with lots of laughs. Problem with long chairs not enough, people reserve them before 6 am. Safe to pay (34$/2 weeks). Public beach nice, long chair to pay 10$/day.The best of resort are pools with salty water. Entertainment very poor.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Another excellent stay at the level

This was our second stay in the last two years at the Meliá Punta Cana, again another awesome time. After reading all the negative reviews from the last year , let me say please don’t believe some of the negative reviews people write the Meliá has made some positive changes ALL for the best! Beautiful grounds, pools are very clean and the workers are great. Our weather was perfect, the resort grounds meticulous, the food was excellent, the pools and beach were exactly what we wanted and we cannot wait to go back! We thoroughly enjoyed our week in this paradise

I enjoyed it, despite what many others had to say.. staff were nice.. entertainment was pretty good.. food was decent. yes water was murky directly on the resort but if you walk further down. its completely clear waters and the area is even quieter and nicer..

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Grand Bahia Principe El Portillo

This resort has a gorgeous beach with coral reefs and a variety of colourful fish. It's not a huge resort however there were 4 different à la carte restaurants. The resort itself is supposed to be a 4.5 star however the upkeep to the rooms and other areas on the resort are more like a 3.5 star.. The variety on the buffet is quite good. There is no swim up bar and only one pool which ended up being closed mid afternoon one day. The biggest issue at this resort is that there is a huge langu [... read more]age barrier and although I could speak both English and French fluently, the servers were far from understanding what patrons wanted. The smiles were few and far between. Only a handful of servers at the restaurants and à la cartes had a smile and welcoming way about them. Most of them did not seem to like their job. We witnessed a couple being very rude to guests at the buffet. You had to ask for water many times and drinks were rarely offered after the water. We seen some people pick up the jug of water and go to their table to serve their children and the jug was abruptly taken away by a server who sat it back in it's place and they had to wait for someone else to give them the water. We spoke with others who had been returning guests and almost all did see this resort go down from the service to the joyful staff they used to have. We are undecided if we would recommend it to others. The beach is long and very nice however staff was not great.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Nice Resort

The grounds were beautifully kept, rooms were fine except some maids put more effort into their job than others!! Food was "excellent"! Beach was fabulous & kept very clean!!! However, sand flies were a problem for some, just remember your bug spray. Since my boyfriend does not drink, I like wine, found it extremely difficult to arrange to have a bottle of wine put in the hotel fridge, even house wine nothing expensive. First land stay that we both said we would go back.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Iberostar Costa Dorada Hotel Dominican Republic

Food was good lots of choices to choose from, Hotel was clean and nice view. Lots of entertainment and sports which I enjoyed for example tennis and volleyball and variety of drinks at the bars. Evening shows were nice especially Dominican shows and live music near the theatre.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Amazing Resort, fantastic relaxing vacation!

The Senator's was super clean. The staff was really friendly. The landscaping, grounds, views are out of this world. We had a fantastic relaxing vacation. We would not recommend this resort to people with kids nor people that are expecting an exciting night life. It's very relax which is what we were looking for. The only small thing that could have been improved is that there are only 3 à la carte restaurants and one them is closed some nights (they rotate). Paradise Playa Dorada: Best Trip

This Resort was great. The suite was good. The food was good. The service was good. The resort and beaches were very clean. There was a large variety if excursions to choose from. The Select Adult package is worth its benifits.
