Occidental Arenas Blancas: A nice resort that needs updating

The Barceló Arenas Blancas Resort in Varadero Cuba is a resort that is in need of a great deal of updating .The rooms are in need of re painting ,repair and in despert need of cleaning.The housekeeping is poor the floors are dirty the bathrooms the tubs in particular are filthy and need replacing. In some areas of the resort you smell sewage. The water situations is not good the hot water is cool and the water pressure is low. The villas are also an issue as they are also having water [... read more] issues. The Hotel grounds are well kept as are the pools and beach. The food is the same for almost every meal but acceptable. The staff try hard and are friendly but on the housekeeping & maintenance side they need better direction

Playa Vista Azul: It's an awesome resort

I would recommend this resort to anyone. Had a great time Food was awesome. Service was great.entertainment was pretty good.rooms were great. Yes I would recommend this resort to anyone. No bugs bitting

Hotel Bella Costa: Resort needs improvement

The hotel location is great however the hotel needs some major renovations. Looking old and worn. Beach was beautiful and the hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming. Thank you to Osmaira who looked after our room. We loved the towel figures. The restaurant food needs a great deal of improvement. There was no jams jellies for breakfast. No coffee or tea for dinner.

Occidental Arenas Blancas: Solymar had to stay there because they did't have a room for us at arenas blancas

grounds very neat and tidy rooms need upgrading especially the bathrooms, there should be hand sanitizers outside buffet and restaurants. Location is perfect, close to town.we had to stay at the Solymar even though we booked at the Arenas Blancas

Hotel Los Cactus: Very quiet resort

The resort is dated. Clean and people friendly. Beach is very nice. Food is Cuban and not much variety. Entertainment is minimal, start at 21:00 and ends at 22:00. After which the place turns into a ghost town. The stay was relaxing. Resort was a little too quiet for our liking.

Occidental Arenas Blancas: great

everything was wonderful the hotel is 2 minute walk to downtown which was great. Also being attached to the solymar is great because the buffet was better there and you have access to the pools,its a 2 in 1. would for sure go back.

Sirenis Tropical Varadero: Bad ending

The rooms were recently renovated and the best I've stayed in (7th time in Cuba). Air conditioning did not work most days even when complained about it and mechanic 'fixed' it. Wide variety of food and I thought it was good. However sometimes meat was undercooked. Use same instruments for cooked and uncooked meat. Was ill last night at the resort. First time ill in Cuba. Wouldn't stay here again.

Paradisus Varadero: Overrated resort

Beautiful hotel , and grounds , fairly good beach , service wasn't as good as other 5 star rated resorts in Cuba . No towels for beach and towels were not replaced in room after cleaning. Employees didn't smile too much . Made you wait in a line up for breakfast buffet . Very surprised and disappointed as usually paradisus resorts are amazing . The Melia las Antillas and the paradisus del Mar service was excellent ! Disappointed and would not return .

Starfish Jibacoa: Snorkel heaven!

Small tidy resort. Food is good and nicely presented. Beach was dirty all week due to a broken tractor but that was the only complaint. Nice to be so handy to Havana. Access to the reef right off the beach requires good weather but superb. If there was wifi I'd never go anywhere else.

Melia Marina Varadero: Beautiful Resort

I visited in February 2017. Grounds, pools are well kept. Beach is not close to the resort but ok if you don't mind a walk. The studio apartment that I had was well maintained, clean and overlooked the marina which was lovely to wake up to the view of water and boats. The main food buffet had a couple of issues with waits to get in at meal time, sometimes plates would take a while to appear. Food was reasonable, there's always plenty. This resort is top notch, and the staff and people of Cuba are very friendly and always pleased to make your visit pleasant.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Melia penninsula varadero

We were happy to find ourselves at this 5 star resort. Our room was large with a king size bed, but best of all was the walk in shower with a rain head. It was wonderful. Also we were only about 500 yards from the beach, easy walking. The food was good and we experienced all the different restaurants - Italian, French, Cuban and Japanese. Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Great Vacation

We had an excellent time at the Ocean Varadero El Patriarca last week. The room was very comfortable and everything worked well. Everyone we met at the restaurants, bars, front desk, housekeeping and entertainment were so friendly and very efficient as well. The selection of food was quite good too at the buffet. The a la carte restaurants were very easy to be seated at since it's first come, first served with no annoying reservation system to have to line up for. The hotel grounds are kept [... read more] very clean as well. The beach is beautiful with plenty of lounge chairs. Same with the pool area. The pool is very shallow for the most part just below chest deep in the main pool. We visited Havana on the Air Canada tour for a day since Varadero is not as far as some of the other resort locations in Cuba. We were really glad we did. It was a fun day for us.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Fun in the sun!

Here are some pointers for first time visitors to Cuba. The weather was perfect every day as expected. The people are just as nice. Polite and so helpful. Expect line ups at customs but other than that travel is normal. The shuttle buses back and forth are convenient. No need for taxis. Our resort would rank between 3.5 out of 5 as compared to a standard North American stay. Our room was clean and well maintained and staff were excellent. Pick your poison and stick with it! Make sure you see your resort rep to give you all the resort info and tours available and suggestions for fun the sun. The only other thing we would mention is access to the beach and water. Our party had a disabled member and was unable to make it into the water. Although we were able to access the beach and loungers there were no stairs or ramp to get to the water. The beach was two tiered with a four foot drop so seniors or disabled be warned. So enjoy the sun, heat and all you can drink and don't forget your sun screen. we're still peeling! Cheers!!!

Melia Marina Varadero: The Resort "grounds" of the Resort is fantastic. However, they should hire more English speaking Representatives to help their clients. Most of the workers speak Spanish, therefore, they tend to ignore English speaking guests. I see a lot of communication barrier, during my one week's stay.

The hotel is nice! The nightlife is not well coordinated. You have to be "fishing" for the nightlife location. The guests have to look for their own chairs during the night life shows. If you dress properly for the night shows, you could soil your nice cloths by sitting down on dirty objects or chairs.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: WOW...... you must go to this place!!!!

Adults only is truly a gem. Has it's own everything just for you... concierge, restaurant, bar, pool bar, pool, beach section. Amazing staff their to help 24/7. Do take an excursion into Havana (2hr taxi drive) with "I love Cuba Photo tours" search tripadvisor. You will be very happy.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Unforgettable trip!

We absolutely loved our stay at this resort. The rooms and the grounds were clean. The staff was friendly and always ready to help. There were fun activities to do during the day and at night. Oh, and the beach was beautiful!

Occidental Arenas Blancas: Extremely disappointing

Hotel is significantly substandard and is not a 4 star. We have been to Cuba several times and this was the worst resort. On the first day we had to ask for another room as water was entering the unit from above. Food was mediocre and the coffee awful. They didn't know how to prepare an omelette. Best things were beach and proximity to downtown Varadero.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Relaxing Holiday

We recently stayed at the Paradisus Del Mar and had a wonderful relaxing holiday. Upon check in we were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to the Royal Service side of the resort. The weather was perfect and we did enjoy the relaxing atmosphere although at times, it was too quiet! The only negative comments would be, it was a very subdued and reserved adult only resort..not a party place if that's what you're looking for and the food was good but not great, which we've come to expect with Cuba [... read more]n food. All in all, we had a nice break in the warm hot sun while back home they had snow + cold temperatures!

Club Karey: Fair

Room we had was nice clean and huge balcony. Clean and staff treated us welll Water supply in room not aways there somtimes at night or day Food was okay for Cuba if you got there at end of serving they sometimes ran out of items For what we paid it was great , good location in walking distance of Varadero

Roc Barlovento: Great resort

Hotel, Grounds, Beach, Rooms are well maintained, The location of the hotel could not be any better.. Shops, restaurants and markets all within walking distance from the resort. Service was excellent and staff very friendly. Food could be a bit improved as there was lots of repetition. Entertainment was just right for adults. certainly will stay at the hotel again.
