Now Garden Punta Cana: Now garden

We booked Now Garden with Victoria from Trip central. When we booked we asked that our hotel be beach front. She pointed us out to Now Garden and when asked if it was beach front she said yes its on the beach. To our surprise once we got there, the hotel was not on the beach it was behind another hotel called Now Larimar, it was a 5min golf cart ride to the beach. This was very disappointing as we were traveling with a toddler. We ended up having to pay another $400 to upgrade to the other hot [... read more]el that was on the beach. I normally always book directly via online. And after this experience i can say i will continue to book directly online. I will no longer book with trip central. I felt this was bad customer service, she told us what we wanted to hear. So she could sell the tickets. She didn't care one bit about what we voiced. It's there lost as we normally travel 2-3times a year. Another think was our tickets came with the names all wrong. Evrn after asking for it to get fixed they forgot to fully change my husbands which created abit of an issue at the airport. We didnt notice as when we saw mine and my daughters fixed we thought all was good. Now Larimar was a bigger hotel they are both owbed by same company. Food was not the best, and we found alot of dirty cups and plates. Pp that worked there lacked enjoyment in their work. The hotel had different areas for prestige people which they keep trying to sell it to you at all cost. They olny had 1 pool for everyone and then 2 pools and and a beach restaurant for prestige. Didn't really like this concept. It made it hard to enjoy as everything u wanted to do you needed to pay extra for.

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Great week in the sun!

Enjoyed my week in the resort. It was a bit larger than I would prefer, but there were lots of pools outside the main area (noisy and crowded) where we spent most of our time. Stayed in building 12 close to a pool and a bar. Christian was our server and was awesome. So friendly and cheerful all the time - so good at his job. Other servers in the buffet were very good as well. My favourite was Carmen who worked in the smaller buffet. Also had the best omelettes with everything! Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Great vacation

We had a great vacation at this resort. There is something for eveyone. My husband loved the golf and the jacuzzi on the balcony. I enjoyed the one minute walk to the beach. It is a big resort but nothing is too far. Especially if you take the train. Lots of cute babies but there is also an adult section( The Beach) that is quieter and everything is close together but you can use all of the amenities in the Palace. The weather was perfect and if we have to complain about anything would say the f [... read more]ood was so-so. But the a la cartes were very good at La Brisa and Hoya. I aslo wish there were some places for snacks along the beach or pools so we didn't have to always go to the buffet or Sportsbar. All in all we had a wonderful time and I may visit this resort again!

Iberostar Selection Bavaro Suites: Iberostar Bavaro Punta Cana

We are repeated guests at this resort. What draws us back again and again are great gardens and trees, guests leaning towards mature people and families..The accomoditation in villas is quiet and very nice. The food is good and the beach is fantastic. Service - fast, efficient and always with the smile. We liked it as well because it is an older, established and relaxed resort.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: An amazing week

The Ambar Green exceeded expectations. The resort was incredibly clean, staff were friendly and always available to help, rooms were beautiful. The pool was great, plenty of loungers and if they ran out of umbrellas they went and got more. You saw staff cleaning the pool daily. The animation team was a lot of fun but also didn't push to involve people of they wanted to relax. The beach is by far the best I've ever seen. Powdery sit sand and that perfect turquoise water. Occidental Caribe: Occidental caribe punta cana

I found this hotel was awesome for a 4star and for the price. Good service, good food and good staff. Rooms are clean and grounds are always well maintained. 2 big pools. One of the best beaches on the coast. I highly recommend this resort.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Amazing resort.

This resort was excellent in all aspects. It was very, very clean which is important to me. The beach was beautiful. The food was so delicious with a great variety of different foods. The service was impeccable. No matter where we were, the staff always had such a big smile, very courteous and helpful. The grounds were exceptional. The entertainment was absolutely great. Occidental Caribe: Awesome hotel!

Me and my girlfriend recently stayed at this property. We found it was an amazing experience. The staff was friendly ,the food was excellent and the grounds and landscaping were exceptionally maintained. We would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice get away.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Paradise!

Beautiful place to relax and wine and dine. The staff were amazing. The grounds were immaculate. The food was great. The entertainment staff were wonderful. Lots to see and do. Will definitely go back!

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Beautiful resort!

We just came back from an amazing vacation at the Grand Bahia Principe Ambar Green yesterday( march 30 to april 6). It is an adult only resort with unlimited a la carte restaurants. Our favorites were the Don Pablo and the Japonese Maiko. With all the other Grand Bahia resorts together, it is huge, but we don't mind it, we love walking and the properties are very clean and beautiful! The beach is amazing! The staff are very nice but their english is very limited compare to other resorts we've be [... read more]en too. I wish i could learn a bit more spanish so we could chat with them more. It was our forth vacation at a Grand Bahia Principe resort and we were not disappointed with our choice! 😎😎

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Beautiful resort!!

This was our first trip ever and it was amazing!!!The resort is beautiful, clean and the service was amazing. You will never go hungry and never get bored, so many things to see and do. The beaches are gorgeous and the people we met were amazing. Thank u Laura for suggesting this place to us we look forward to going on another trip next yeat!!!!

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Amazing resort.

Had a great time. Beach, entertainment, food all wonderful. Bathroom a little dated. Would definitely go back. This was our third trip to this resort, except on our first two trips we stayed at the Palace section.

Occidental Punta Cana: Mould in room

Stayed at Occidental Punta Cana March 29 - April 5th. Took over 90 minutes to check in only to be told to come back in 2 hours to pick up key for room. Had paid for upgraded room and was placed in old building #12 room 105 which had mould on the ceiling and in the closet. Unable to hang clothes in closet due to mould. Room was very dated. Striker plate on door was loose and you were required to hit the door with shoulder or hip to open it. Transat rep, Hugo was not helpful at all in assisting us with resolving our room issue. He mad big promises but did not deliver at all.Food is fine at resort. Service is average at best with long waits at all bars for drinks. Beach and pools are beautiful.

Bahia Principe Explore Turquesa: Great resort!

The resort is great,the grounds are perfect and beautiful,the service was great.It is very big but there was never a problem going to and from the beach on the trolleys.The only critique i have is the wine it was not good it tasted like it was diluted.Bottled wine at a la carte was better.

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Beautiful palm trees

Great resort, lots of palm trees and landscaping. The beach close to the water was full of sea weed and very murky. However, we walked down the beach, past all the resorts, and the water gets crystal clear and there is way less sea weed in the sand. It's about a 15-20 min walk down the beach. There was a lot of pools to choose from and bars in each area, so very convenient. The grounds around the resort are clean and very pretty, lots of lighting at night. There was a lot of people trying to sel [... read more]l time shares outside the buffet area and excursions on the beach area, gets kind of annoying after a bit. If the guys in brown shirts tell you to come with them to the front desk for your free gift, don't go, they are trying to sell you a time share(unless you want one of course!) The nightly entertainment was good, and the staff was entertaining. The bar tenders don't like to make all the drinks on their menu and the most popular drink (coco loco) was often not available because they didn't want to mix it in the slushy machine thing. The food was great, a lot of choices for a la carte and the buffet was awesome, if you can't find something to eat there, you're not hungry. All in all it was a great resort, pretty grounds, safe and secure, beautiful to walk thru to get from the different pools, main bar/pool/theatre/beach. Our room was exactly as shown on the Sunwing website, but the couple travelling with us had to move rooms as theirs was so bad and nothing like what they booked thru Sunwing as well.

Occidental Punta Cana: Gorgeous beach, excellent service, very nice hotel

We stayed in one of the newly renovated buildings, 23, which was very nice. The service was excellent at all bars and restaurants (we are frequent tippers) and the food was good. The beer is cold and plentiful; tried mamajuana as well as a few other cocktails. Not really a fan of the house red wine but there were plenty of other drink options. Kudos for excellent service to Bibiano (and Franklin) at the lobby bar who are smiley and work well as a team and to the wonderful Nordy at the hibiscus  [... read more]bar near the theatre (not sure of the actual name of this bar but it has carved hibiscus flowers.) Nordy makes a wonderful martini and is very friendly and efficient. The a la carte restaurants were good and there was always something tasty at the buffets. The beach restaurant has really good burgers, much better than the ones at the snack bar. Excellent pizza at the wood oven pizza place, which is open 6 pm to 6 am. The beach is lovely, soft, white sand, lots of chairs, but not much shade. The gym has several machines (most of which work) as well as free weights. Clean and adequate. Overall, a great hotel for those who love the beach. Too many smokers for my liking, but that's totally a personal preference.

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Impressive resort

My husband and I very much enjoyed our vacation at Barcelo Bavaro Beach resort. The grounds and beach area were well kept and the pool was wonderfully laid out with a ramp entry at one end that was shallow to the other end which was about five feet deep, perfect for swimming and very refreshing. Plenty of shade and sun areas both at the pool and beach and we never felt crowded. The room we had was adequate. Nothing fancy but the bed was comfortable and the bathroom area provided everything we needed. The air conditioning was a little wonky, either too cold or not cold enough since the controls did not allow for much choice. The room could also have used a few more places to hang wet towels and swimsuits inside the room itself as opposed to hanging things on the balcony outside. But these were small things and didn't detract from our enjoyment. We were a little disappointed in the food at this resort. We have been to other resorts in the DR and found the buffet at the Bavaro did not have the variety of choices that we had elsewhere. The a-la-carte restaurants we tried, the seafood restaurant, the steakhouse and the Mediterranean restaurant all seemed very assembly lined with not much flavour and were very skimpy with the vegetable sides. The exception was the rib eye steak I had which was huge and delicious! The desserts everywhere look beautiful but generally are tasteless and bland. Nevertheless we always managed to find something to eat and it didn't prevent us from gaining a few pounds! We liked the variety of activities that the resort provided and were impressed by the shopping areas and rooftop lounge. Getting around the resort was easy with the train trolleys doing the rounds continuously. Overall we had a great week and would consider returning in the future.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Lovely resort

My husband and I went with another couple who had been to this resort 11 times! We were in Priveledge which I would recommend. Excellent value. Very impressive lobby. Beautifully kept grounds. Rooms were comfortable and very clean. The staff was superb, friendly and accommodating. Entertainment was good although we did not use the casino or bowling alley. Pool could use more umbrellas as shade was minimal. We hope to go back again. Would not hesitate to recommend to a friend. Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Can't wait to return

This property offered absolutely everything, the service was better than excellent, food and everyday selection was amazing for the Caribbean, the beach was clean and spacious, the selection of children's water parks, trains, kids club was endless, so very pleased, can't wait to return next year, I will be telling all my friends with children that this property is a must!! The adult only side of the property looked just as great, likely a bit quieter! ;)

Ocean Blue and Sand: Work to be done

The workers at this resort are fantastic. The lobby bar and the pool are great place to hang out. The food at the buffet restaurant and the restaurant at the pool is great. The Wifi is not good. The rooms are good but the maids do not replace towels if she takes some away from the room if dirty. The room's temperature would not go down lower than 23 Celsius, too warm for me.
