Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: First Impressions Matter

Our room backed on to a noisy construction site. When we arrived the key didn't work and there was a linen bag on the bed. The next day a drip from the pot light in the bathroom, ended up being tons of water under the drop ceiling that was emptied onto the bathroom floor by the repair guy. Asked for a new room. Didn't get on until day 4. Room was a nice pool view. Called for help a few times. Calls were transferred several times to find an english speaking aid. Food was good except for  [... read more]the Barbecue A la Carte. Beach was busy but beautiful. Resort was clean. Happy that we were at the Green section with a bit quieter pool area. We will not be returning.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Dreamy Resort

The grounds, pathways of the Dreams resort were breathtaking. Beautiful, lush, well groomed gardens. Very well manicured and the grounds, pathways, pool and beach area were very clean. We felt very safe at the resort. There were staff stationed at the beach and along the roadway/ path to the beach and main building. The food was good. You would never go hungry. Like any resort you do have to save a lounge chair at the beach or pool. The explorers club for children was fabulous. Lots of activitie [... read more]s for children, teens, and adults. We would recommend this resort. We loved our week at Dreams and would definitely try another Dreams resort. We did have to make a request to change our room as our room had an adjoining door. It would have been okay if the adjoining room was being occupied by family...but you could hear everything going on in the room....all hours if the night. Staff were fantastic and were able to move us to another room within 1/2 hour. Excellent service. Thank you Dreams

Riu Republica: Amazing Resort!!!!

I stayed at the Riu Republica for my honeymoon and had an amazing time! The room was nice but I wish we had the option of booking the Jacuzzi suite. The service was amazing. If you ever call the front desk or see someone, your issue is resolved immediately. The food was great and there was a ton of selection. The pools were great although I wish they were open later so you can do late night swims but they don't recommend it as they are cleaning them (so I get it). The beach location was so g [... read more]reat that we often saw guests from the neighbouring resorts at our beach. My only complaint would be the night entertainment. It just seemed repetitive by the 3rd night even though they were different acts. It also seemed like the entertainment was geared to a much older crowd. The music could've been much better for sure. Especially at the beach party. But after a few drinks, you can still muster up having a great time. All-in-all, this was a great experience and I would definitely recommend this resort to a friend.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Fantastic resort

This was my first time in D.R. Everything everyone said was true about Punta Cana. White beaches, beautiful ocean. The staff were great. I didn't like my first room because it had a musty smell and in the 3rd building. They changed my room the next day to building 9 - closer to the pool and the beach. The pools were huge & beautiful. The food was spectacular. I was there alone & felt very safe. Didn't venture out in the dark by myself. Only thing that I didn't like was when it rained the  [... read more]stone walkway was very slippery & I almost fell 3 times on my way to the restaurants. I liked that they had trolleys to take you everywhere if it was raining, otherwise I walked all the time. Rooms were always clean. I would definitely go back but would get a room facing the garden/pool, much better view than facing the road & trees.

Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: Amazing resort!!

The majestic mirage was a beautiful resort with very friendly staff that were more then accomendating. All public areas and rooms were very clean. All food in the buffet were under climate control and most food was cooked fresh right infront of you. The nightly entertainment was very enjoyable and was live every night.

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Worth Revisiting

This is a huge resort with lots to do for everyone. Clean, friendly staff, good service, modern and a beautiful golf course. The food was good. No complaints. This was our second time and I would go back again.

Iberostar Waves Dominicana: Great Resort

The resort is fantastic. The grounds are clean, the beach is amazing, the gym is awesome (the amount of equipment is incredible for a resort and the fact that they had group classes is almost unheard of), the food was good, and the service (front desk, house keeping, dining areas) was second to none (other than one morning where service was slow). Everyone was very friendly and the staff were able to speak English very well making things easier when I had questions. The room was clean and didn' [... read more]t smell musty at all. Catalonia Royal Bavaro: Great Vacation

We stayed in the exclusive suite with a pool. The resort is everything it says it is. If you are looking for a quiet getaway in a smaller adults only resort with great food, great drinks, great hospitality, manicured grounds, a quiet pool, a busy pool with swim up bar, a la carte meals without reservations and top notch nightly entertainment during dinner, this is the resort to go to. We spoke to several people that have been to Punta Cana several times and for the money this was the best resort they have been to. Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Another enjoyable trip to this resort

This is our third visit to Grand Bahia Dominican resorts, the grounds are spotless, the location is perfect, short distance from the airport, the beach is fantastic and the staff are very friendly. I would highly recommend this resort.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Totally awesome resort

We had an awesome trip from the time we landed until we got back on the flight to go home !! Service was great at reception when arriving, the room was clean towels daily we didn't have to call looking for them. Servers at the buffet for supper and on the beach were very friendly welcomed us everyday Entertaining was plentiful on the beach at the pool common areas to the shows in the evening The grounds were well maintained The number of people staying at the resort there was know complaint [... read more]s at all Trollers were always going I would have to say that was our only complaint they were not friendly Over all 8.5 /9 out of 10 for sure

Bahia Principe Explore Turquesa: Average

The good: Grounds were well maintained, clean rooms and a variety of food choices at the buffets. The bad: access card problems were annoying. The key cards failed 4 out of the 7 days. Multiple times in the same day. As a parent with small children this was incredibly frustrating. I wish I could express just how gut wrenching and infuriating this really was. The hotel staff did not seem to care. Probably because it's an ongoing problem and they are used to the complaints. Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: Loved every minute of it!

Brand new resort, so the vegetation hasn't had a lot of time to grow, but you could see it will be fabulous in a short time. The room, grounds and beach were awesome. We were there with my sister and husband, we enjoyed each and every meal. Most were to die for, with a couple that we found just good. We shared a taste of each others meals at each dinner, so this is a group opinion.Having access to Breathless next door was great, we ate dinner there one night. the food was was great there as well [... read more]. We took turns as couples to walk through dreams next door which was a well established resort with fantastic foliage. Now for the staff, they were plentiful, attentive and eager to please. Special mention to Darma Powers at breakfast and dinners. Estaban in the breakfast buffet was an absolute hoot! The serving staff on the beach was close to annoying with their regularity. LOL! Lets just say that we never had to wait more than a few minutes to order a drink. Make sure you are aware of the sliding wall in your room, when you close it at night, it keeps out entire hallway noise of slamming doors or cleaning staff in the morning. This was not a "party" resort, there were a few children around, but we didn't find then intrusive at all. Enough entertainment to keep you occupied, dancing in the courtyard starting about 10:30 after the show, the activity staff kept everyone going through the day and into the night. If you want to party all night, a 7 minute walk next door to Breathless takes you there. As you can tell, this reviewer had a great time, would recommend it to anyone that wants a blend of relaxation with activities. :)

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Mostly Good

Hotel and grounds are beautiful. Buffet and A La Carte restaurants were excellent.Very well kept facility.Toilets require 2-3 flushes every time.Service was Ok with mixed staff reactions...little eye contact polite but begrudging service style.Check in was brutal....totally understaffed...no explanation about baggage routines....stressful and borderline rude

Occidental Caribe: Very disappointed

The hotel looks great and the grounds are beautiful...from a distance. This hotel is very tired and worn out and in need of major repair. They only advertise the upgraded renovated section of the resort which is section 1 and 2 (there are 7 sections). The room we stayed in had electrical problems, lights worked some times, water and plumbing stopped working on day 5, the door looked like it had been broken and pryed into and there was no security locks on our door, the safe was broken and the [... read more] shower had a broken faucet with a long screw being used as the handle to control water temperature. We complained to the front desk, guest services and to the front desk manager and they told us they were booked at 110% and couldn't accommodate us elsewhere at the hotel. The pools were overcrowded, loud and lots of dirt and chipped paint/missing tiles in many parts of the pool so be careful not to cut your feet on the broken parts. This hotel was advertised at a 4.5 star and we paid over $1500 per person, it should be rated at a 3 star and no more than $1100 per person for the condition. The good parts - the food was great, the staff in the buffet were incredible and very friendly and helpful!! The beach was one of the nicest stretches of beach we've been on. The management and front desk staff were very rude and not accommodating to us at all, we had booked a king sized bed with a crib and they gave us a room with 2 double beds and no crib...they told us they wouldn't have a crib for us until day 4 into our vacation. I had to sleep in another bed away from my husband all week so that my infant wouldn't roll out of the bed. I would not go back to this resort and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Iberostar Selection Bavaro Suites: outstanding resort

There is nothing to complain about!!! Everything ( I mean e v e r t h i n g !) was perfect. Paradise on earth. Very friendly staff. The food was excellent. Extremely clean. Beautiful garden. Lots of space at the beach and the pool. Enjoyed the peaceful breakfast at the beach.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Melia Caribe Tropical

Stayed here the week of march 25. Beautiful resort as I was there 4 years ago but this time there was a huge change in the service u received. No pool side bartender that came around while in ur chair and no beach side service either. Also the quality and variety of food has declined as well. Our room was great no complaints there and the trolley was very frequent. Check in took longer than expected but check out was quick. I would ? Going bk there in the future

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Beautiful Resort

This was a nice resort with lots of pool space and a beautiful beach. Lots of great entertainment and fun things for the kids to do. At first we found it confusing to find where some of the activities were but as the week went on it was very easy.

Riu Republica: Amazing resort !

Grounds are very beautiful, Public area are very nice with lots of seating area , rooms are very modern and clean. The service is excellent. The Food is excellent. No reservations needed for the a la carte restaurants. I would recommend the steak house. This resort is amazing. there is lots of sitting area`s all over the resort for rest or drinks. love it.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Fantastic !!!!!

We found this resort amazing. When we got there, we were upgraded to a fantastic Superior Suite with no charge. The food was good and the staff were terrific. No complaints at all. Thank you, Doug, for all of your hard work to make our vacation a total dream. Bob and Julie Eagan

Occidental Punta Cana: Stunning resort

Everything was beautiful! Very helpful staff. We will be back! Plenty of restaurant choices. Great buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The swim up bar was our favorite bar. We loved the snack bar located right above the swim up bar!
