Melia Internacional: 100% beautiful resort

Rooms excellent, service friendly,hotel very clean, good selection of alcohol, plenty of beach chairs, large pools, helpful staff,good experience overall! Close to town, beautiful beaches! Nice spa. Service 24 hours!

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Not a 5 star.

First let me say this, the staff for the most part are wonderful. Now onto the not so goods. Our first room from the moment we entered smelled like mold. Not musty, not mildew but mold. Signs of it were throughout the main room and bathroom. Spent one night in that only to be awoken by what one would think was an earthquake. Umm no, our bed broke! Went to front desk and spent a few hours sorting that ordeal out. Finally ended up in a room with 2 twin bed which we pushed together for the  [... read more]remainder of our stay. The grounds were not maintained as well as they should've been. The hot tubs weren't working. One had water in it for who knows how long. Ran out of towels for our rooms and got some the following day. Having been now to what I was expecting to be a 5 star top notch resort, I'm saddened to report it is not. I sincerely hope they correct this and regain their status. If you expect 3.5 to 4 then you'll be satisfied. I feel we paid too much for what we received.

Iberostar Coral Holguin: Fancy resort

The grounds and amenities were beautiful in the coral level. The service was exceptionally good, the rooms were very nice, and cleaning staff was great. The restaurants were nicely designed and the staff were very nice and professional, the chefs definitely need higher level training, to help in the flavourings and quality of there meals and menu.

Barcelo Solymar: Barcelona solymar

From the moment we drove up I was slightly optimistic with the bright exterior colors. My party vacationed from feb 17-24,2020 We arrived late due to flight delay. Once we checked in staff was not that friendly but tired... which we later found out the entire staff is older and exhausted. If your looking for a 2 star hotel close to downtown then it’s your place. If you really want service and resort feel you will have to go up the strip towards the marina if you really want a good experience. Previous trips to varadero was to the hotels up the strip and were always happy happy times. This resort was a huge let down and recommended if you like young kids wanting to drink n party with no concern for looks and friendliness. Food was like being at a camp :( again so sad to see everything exhausted including staff.

Grand Memories Varadero: Sunshine in February

All in all a beautiful experience. The beach, pool and buffet were great. My complaints would be the distance from my room to the beach and buffet - about a 4 or 5 minute walk to each - hard on my feet. Big resort so there were long lines for service at bars, reception. Also, the beach area was separated for Diamond Club so we others were crowded together and further down the beach. Would not recommend.

Club Tropical: not so great

We spent week here, we were in the jail or dungon. the new part of hotel was much nicer. The foods was hit and miss. The beach and ocean were wonderful. location was nice cause it was on the strip but the street noise was constant.

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Service disappointing

The service in this hotel the week of February 11 to 18 was terrible. This was our 6th vacation to Cuba so I know not everything is going to be perfect, but when every meal in the buffet area your looking for a dinner plate, clean table, cutlery or drink of water mostly all of the above at every seating gets me angry. The ala carts were no better, one was closed for the week leaving 3 open. We cancelled our 2nd ala cart at that restaurant promptly after that. The other choices were Indian which no one in our party of 6 would consider and Italian. We did enjoy the Italian ala cart (kids 6 & 5) ate pizza, the best meal they ate the whole vacation! The service lacking in the buffet area was extremely noticeable by other guests as well. We’re the supervisors away that week! All employees when working were usually talking together in groups of 2-3. The hotel was dirty in public areas as well. Stairwells, washrooms & swimming pools. The customer service person I told her to get someone to clean the smaller pool outside the lobby entrance, which was shallower so filled with lots of kids. My grandchildren swam in it every day, and drank the water to my disgust, but he’s just learning to swim. The pool got murky come the weekend and still was never cleaned. I know there was problems in the pool area of the kids club (rusty nails and screws found in and around it) it looked dilapidated, fence boards missing and stacked up. That’s why my grandchildren were swimming in the other pool. For a resort that was recommended by my agent and was supposed to be only 2-3 years old it was sadly very disappointing. My room on the other hand I found to be cleaned well and had a great view of the ocean.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Another wonderful visit

This was our 10th trip to Cuba and our 5th visit to the Paradisus Princesa Del Mar. We have another wonderful vacation. The weather was fantastic and we had a lovely ocean view in the building we had requested. It was wonderful to see old friends, such as Liuba, Diane and Luisa who served us during breakfast and lunch. We enjoyed catching up with Yusmila in the piano bar and we had 2 incredible meals cooked by Evelio at the Sakura Japanese Restaurant (one was the teppanyaki style and the other w [... read more]as a personal sushi dinner for the two of us). He has served us every visit and he puts on a great show with delicious food. We ate at several a la carte restaurants and some were better than the others. We enjoyed the Japanese, French and Cuban. The buffet offers a large selection so you will never go hungry! The only disappointment was the lack of wine. We could buy wine at the restaurants but there was no house wine available. We did not like that we had to pay at an all-inclusive but this was a small detail. Our room was always clean, and one night we did not have clean towels, as they had not been delivered, however as soon as they arrived the house keeper brought them to our room. The staff at the resort is incredible. They are always smiling and ready to assist you. You will never have to wait long for any service. The resort is clean and the beach is really nice. We never had an issue finding a great spot on the beach. This was our first time in February as we normally go in April. There was more sea grass than normal but it never bothered anyone. My husband and I always recommend this resort for a relaxing adult’s only experience. We look forward to our next trip to this resort.

Hotel Atlantico: 3 Star Hotel

Overall this is a decent Hotel with a great beach. If you have any disability then its not for you. There are stairs and more stairs with no elevators. The food is very basic and I suggest you bring spices. Basic drinks with cola being the only mix...no juice or 7up. We took an updated room and it was decent. Cleaned every day. We found staff to be friendly and helpful.

Playa Luxury Cayo Las Brujas: Wonderful Resort

We found this resort to be a 5 star and everything we wanted and needed. A newer resort, clean, quiet, great friendly staff who work so hard to make sure that all the guest are happy. The large beach area was great, loved to walk along the beach, always shade or sun at the beach or around the pool and always chairs to find. Paradisus Rio De Oro: Stunning!!

This resort was by far the best we've been to. We were a little sceptical going to Cuba, as this was our first trip there, but wow were we wrong. This resort has an amazing beach, lush mature grounds that are extreamly well maintained, friendly staff, quiet when you want quiet relaxation but still fun and full of entertainment when you want it. I would 100% recommend this resort. We cant wait to book again for next year.

Muthu Colonial Hotel: Old world charm

An older resort but lots of charm, great ambiance, super friendly staff. Felt like a small village where everybody new everybody, staff remembered names, what drinks you liked, what you took in your coffee, where you preferred to sit, etc.

Villa Natura: A bit disappointing

Our stay at Iguana was a bit disappointing. We have been to Cuba many times and although the fòod is never great, we have always managed to eat fairly well. This time the selection was very poor and got worse as time went on. This is the first time we were there when the beach was gone for the whole two weeks but we realized that was a risk when we booked and there were always options to go to other beaches. As usual, the staff is always friendly and do their best to keep us happy and that means a lot.

Melia Marina Varadero: Not good

Everything was in poor condition. Cracked tiles on grounds. Food didn't seem to be replenished during meals when they were empty. Specialty restaurants had very slow service. A lot of things on the menu were not available. Seemed to have run out of wine late in the week. Coffee in room was only replaced once and there was no sugar or milk. I have been to Cuba a number of times and this was the worst resort I have stayed at.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Good resort

Beautiful gardens the beach was amazing the rooms need to be upgraded furniture too old entertainment was good the only problem is the mosquitoes . The Buffet was good the first 2 days we ask for white wine and they don’t have but after they start to serve

Sol Palmeras: Love the Resort

We have been to this resort many times we absolutely love it, for us it is home away from home. The staff is amazing, friendly and very helpful. There is plenty of entertainment all day and evening. Rooms are clean and comfortable.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Beautiful Getaway

The hotel was lovely with a few areas for improvement. Our suite was excellent and the service to the room was good. Fresh towels everyday and they did a good job of cleaning the room. I just wish they would replenish the shower gel, shampoo and conditioner at least once during the week. Staying at the Coral suites was a great choice. Quiet with lovely grounds and close to the beach. The shuttle service was usually good but sometimes we had to wait for more than ten minutes. The grounds w [... read more]ere beautiful with all kinds of flowers and lizards to keep you occupied. The restaurants at the hotel were really good depending on where you went. The Cuban was excellent and the Italian was good, but the Asian was just okay. The beach was spectacular and better than anywhere we have ever been. Loved it. The washrooms on the beach often needed toilet paper and same goes for the washrooms at the lobby. Although they were kept pretty clean. The theatre where shows were performed was very comfortable and had good seating for all. This is an excellent resort with many amenities including lovely tennis courts in good condition and the pools were also excellent and not crowded at all even though we were told the resort was at capacity. Even the buffet was managable with the numbers. The food at the buffet was excellent - no complaints. But my favourite was eating at the restaurant at the Coral side. Best food and service at this restaurant. Would definitely go back!

Hotel Los Cactus: Great vacation in Cuba

We have stayed at this hotel 8 times. We also book the gardenview suites. The staff is excellent. The food is average as is expected in Cuba. They run out of things but usually arrive again a few days later. The beach is spectacular and pool is nice too.

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Amazing Beach

This hotel was perfect for a relaxing get away. I went with a group of 10 girls and was surprised to see how well they could always accommodate my group. The staff were the best part, as they were all so friendly and helpful. The beach was beautiful, and was a great spot to hangout. We also enjoyed the pool, where they’re was entertainment and music daily. Drinking water was very hard to get, which was the only downside. Overall a nice spot to visit!

Paradisus Los Cayos: Good resort

Beach: nice beach but a little rocky and little shells in places that are hard on your feet. Water is crystal clear when it is calm, even in windy days we were still able to enjoy the water. Pools: main pool was nice with entertainment throughout the day. Small pools outside the buildings were cold but nicely lit in the night. Service: at the beach bar and beach restaurant was amazing! Service at the buffet and pool bar was poor. People did not seem interested in serving us and overall servic [... read more]e was slow. Some people were very friendly and happy to help while others were disinterested. Food: buffet food for breakfast had lots of options. Fresh to made omelette, eggs and pancakes were fantastic. They also had delicious fresh donuts. Lunch: buffet food was the same as dinner. We ate at the beach bar where the food was fresh and fantastic as well as excellent service. Dinner: buffet had many options as well as freshly made rice, fish, meats and pasta. Overall quality was lacking but everything was edible. Do not go to the a la Carte restaurants as they were terrible. Service was very slow and food at some places was not edible. Fuego was the only edible one. Room: very nice and clean, comfortable beds, shower just smelled a little musty. Location: 120km from the airport a 140 minute drive. Island was beautiful although our beach wasn’t very long but private. Value: we went during break so it was more expensive but would consider going again if prices were cheaper. Overall: resort was nice but it only seems to be 40% full and the service was still lacking... would hate to see if they actually filled it. Would recommend if you are looking for a nicer place to stay in Cuba.
