Riu Republica: Beautiful Resort!!

This resort is well laid out with short lovely walks to everywhere you need to go. Lots for everyone and every mood! Pools are second to none and so many! Bars are great as well as most drinks. Grounds are impeccable and rooms are chic and so clean. Maid did an incredible.job every day. No fancy towels or curtains even though I tipped here..haha that's ok. Buffets are awesome with lots to eat and never line ups for omelets or at bars for the most part. Beach was second to none and coco bar was  [... read more]so convenient as well. Loved the variety of pools depending on your mood! The only complaint is the a la carte service was not great and I like to be served not buffet for these specialty restaurants. Good food overall though for sure! Jerk chicken shack included. Overall this is a clean chic pristine fun resort and I cannot wait to return and take friends there. !!

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Relaxing vacation

The resort was very nice. Good food , beautiful property. The only draw back was even with butler service we couldn't get dinner reservations. We spoke to one couple whom had been there before and they said they book on line before arriving at the resort. Unfortunately the last two days was the beginning of high school March break in the US. A lot of very young kids drinking and acting foolish. Over all a very nice trip. Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Had a great time

Had a great time at this hotel, the staff was very friendly and most of them could understand English and speak it to. The buffet restaurant had lots to offer and food was very good although it could have been a little hotter. We ate a four a la cartes and found them all to be quite good. Never had a problem getting a chair around the pool. The grounds are kept very nice and the staff works hard at keeping things clean. I would recommend this hotel.

Punta Cana Princess: Lovely adult's only Resort

Just came home from the Punta Cana Princess resort (March 29th until April 5th). I asked for a room near the beach on a higher level and with a view of the ocean. I got all 3. I spent most of my time at the beach. Sandy beach, no rocks and great ocean breeze. There was plenty of shade. The buffet was large and well stocked with a variety of choices. Each night there was another "theme" night but there were always other choices if you didn't want the theme night menu. We went to the ala carte  [... read more]Italian and Steak restaurants but were just as content to eat at the buffet restaurant. There was free WiFi in the lobby but i have to admit it was slow. You can also purchase WiFi that could be used anywhere at the resort. The room was a little quirky with a sunken living room area. Housekeeping did a good job keeping rooms clean each day. Requests for extra pillows etc were promply given.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Great vacation!

This is an older resort with a few upgrades. The room AC hardly worked and our shower leaked. The bed wasn't comfortable. The restaurants were beautiful especially The Grill. Food was amazing throughout the resort. Beach was incredible! The spa was gorgeous and well maintained. Although it's rated as a 4 star online, they self-rate it as a 3 star. Overall it was a wonderful vacation but we don't feel we'll come back to this resort.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Great Resort

This was one of the cleanest, well run resort that we have been too. Congratulations to the manager of the resort and his wonderfulstaff. Beautiful room with walk in shower and huge balcony. Gardens around the resort were amazing and appreciated that they included the names of the plants and flowers. The gardeners and ground staff kept it pristine. Although we didn't use the pools they looked very inviting. We enjoyed the buffet and trying the other restaurants. Food was very fresh. Our f [... read more]avourite place was the Coco Cafe the Cappucino was excellent as was all the fine pastries. The beach was stunning - good swimming and going for long walks on the beach. We hope to get back again next year.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Amazing Time

I can truly recommend this resort. Definetly best time spended with my fiance and 1.5 year old son :) you don't need leave resort and will be busy all the time. We will come back in future. Thanks for great service. Cheers

Bahia Principe Escape Samana: Beautiful resort

What we liked the most: stunning views, great service with 24 hour room service, super clean, good food, wifi accessible everywhere even on the beach! Cons: you hear the cars from the road in your room and the beach, nothing around the resort, about 1.5 hour from airport, night entertainment is poor

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Clean resort

The grounds are kept clean and nicely groomed, our room was clean, food was good. Beach was good other then over crowded. And yes u need to kept up before 6am to get a spot close to the water on the beach.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Not up to parr

Needs work public bathrooms always broken. Could not get alacarte reservations all full from the first night we got there and was told it’s busy season. Paid for butler service never saw him! We called and he never came was very disappointing.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Great getaway

Senator did not disappoint. We have been home 1 week today. We couldn’t have asked for a better week. Food was fantastic, we ate at steakhouse 3 times (every time cooked how we asked) and Japanese once. Both fantastic ! No sickness of any kind between the 6 of us. Loved the buffet breakfast, fresh made omelettes, pancakes and crepes every morning. My biggest concern going in was the a/c we were on ground floor of block 9 and we were comfortable. Never a problem finding a chair by the pool, if we were too hot and needed a shady location we just headed for the beach. Plenty of chairs and a tonne of trees for shade. Superman and Barbie were awesome during the week for poolside activities, they really made it a lot of fun. Sign up for the games, bocce ball on the beach, horseshoes, darts by the pool. It’s fun !!!! My personal preference was the more quiet pool with the waterfall, great to bring a floatie and float around in or a game of beer pong. (We brought our own) A tip for the beach is you can snag some bread from the buffet and go out about chest deep in the ocean and feed the fish, they will come right in to you. Bring a snorkel mask if you have one. The little coffee shop had some really great little treats and coffee with whatever you can imagine, iced coffee with caramel was my favourite and friends enjoyed iced coffee with baileys. We recommend checking out the shops near the cruise terminal. Bartering is the name of the game, have fun with it. My friend and I got massages at hut #16 (air conditioned) with Nancy / Maria. Awesome job ! $20 for half hour $30 for 1 hour. Sandra at shop #14 had rings made for our daughters in a specific size ready for next day pickup. The resort was very clean, it was hot, pool and beach both fantastic and the drinks were cold !! We would love to return one day 💙 Bram and Katia

Ocean El Faro: Ocean El Faro

This is a beautiful resort built on a not so beautiful beach! Our room was beautiful, probably one of the nicest we have stayed in. We had a balcony on the third floor overlooking the pools. There are three pools and a children’s water slide play area. All are very well kept and very clean. There is also a lazy river which was fun. There is work in progress and everyone is trying very hard to please. The casino is a disappointment, 6 or 7 very old machines, visited only once. The lobby [... read more] and decor throughout the resort is spectacular. The food was okay, nothing to brag @bout, but lots of choices and we didn’t go hungry.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Wished we had stayed longer!

Great food, beautiful beach, excellent service, very nice resort. When we arrived, we were a bit disappointed with the walk from room (villa 27) to lobby, dining room and beach. But we quickly appreaciated the walk with the amazing food selection. We enjoyed walking the beach... beautiful and swimming in the ocean. Just an amazing week... 10 days would have been perfect. Looking forward to going back.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Amazing resort for families

Honestly, everything was fantastic - grounds, food, people. My son and husband loved the flow rider and the lazy river was tons of fun. The a la cartes were also all really good and had gluten free options. No place is perfect but this resort comes pretty close in my books. Anyone who complains about this resort has insanely high expectations. Can’t beat the price for everything it has to offer.

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Think Twice

Different Levels... there are different coloured wristbands,noting different distinctions ..unless you pd VIP you hv to pay for drinks in the main lobby bar as you enter the hotel..Top shelf is extra even with VIP .The beach is sectioned off by a fence ....however both sides hv canopied beds & sm loungers.(. Regular, VIP, children’s section,VIP Adult section, Gold if you purchased a timeshare.etc) Timeshare reps wait for you outside the buffet & in the lobby all day..They have a big ofc ups [... read more]tairs..Staff was friendly but Definite language barriers, they were painting some rooms the smell was intense, the pool was unkept., hair, sand etc etc...Activity staff good,. All a la carte restaurants have designated dishes you can order ,and several on the same menu that.you hv to pay for at $20USD plus...the filet mignon was tough, Lobster extremely small, Asian good.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Great resort

The resort and grounds are beautiful. Staff are amazing, we had been told that people in punts cana were not as friendly but we beg to differ. The food is great but the Buffett food could be hotter. Al a cartes fantastic especially the mikado(Japanese). The free wifi is sporadic and could be easier to use. We did have an issue with our safe not easy at times to get into. Our rooms were tidied but they could be more conscious of giving soaps etc, and we had an issue with towels one evening which  [... read more]was taken care of. Entertainment was good especially the circus show was over and above. Bugs were an issue as well, came home with many bites. All and all though very nice resort.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: EXCELLENTE

A week in PARADISE. Everything was perfect from the booking with Manuela Romeiro to the LAZY RIVER. Thank you to Francisco who gave us the most beautiful room with a view on the lazy river. We will go back because of the lazy river. It is very beautiful, well maintained, tubes for everyone and the bar is a nice touch. I did my exercises in there every day a lot more enjoyable than a gym or a pool. WOW. Perfection: service, hotel, room, cleanliness, beach, shows, food (special thanks to Juan Suar [... read more]ez and I think his name was Luigi) they went above and beyond the call of duty. Thank you for a beautiful week. We will go back.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Disappointed

As my husband and I have been booking our vacations for the past six years with Tripcentral, we were very disappointed with the response of our problems with this resort, it was the first time we had any problems with our vacation and were expecting a quick response, but was only answered when we were back from our trip. This resort could be an okay vacation spot if problems were dealt with. When we arrived in our rooms we noticed a foul smell which was coming from the pipes outside our rooms, [... read more] good thing was is that we did not smell it once we were in our room. We had no air conditioning in our room, (was 26C in our room our whole vacation), no hot water. There were so many stairs and inclines, so if you have immobility problems do not go, also very difficult for families with strollers. I would also recommend that you avoid A-la-Carte restaurants, as the two we ate at, my husband and brother-in-law got sick, also was told by others that they did also, stick to the buffet if you do go. On that, I must say that the pools, beaches and the entertainment during the day was fantastic, shout out to Julio Nice, Mosquito, Chichi, Champion and Superman. We did go to the front desk, guest services and our contact for Transat, Freddie, about our room problems, not a thing was done. I also sent an e-mail to TripCentral and only received a response the day after we returned home.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Bitterly Disappointing

My wife & I decided to vacation this year in the Dominican Republic with my wife's sister and her husband (B&L) as a result of their enthusiastic recommendations. Unfortunately the resort they usually book with wasn't available, but we found an opening at the Cofresi Palm Beach Resort at a very attractive price, so made a booking there instead. We noted there was an option to upgrade the room when we made the booking through TripCentral, but the basic room looked very pleasant in the photos, so  [... read more]we didn't bother. We should have. The first thing we noticed when we arrived at our rooms was a foul septic smell permeating the air in the immediate area coming from improperly sealed 12" pipes laid in a concrete trench close by our building. Once inside the room, we turned the "air conditioning" on full and set the thermostat to 16 degrees Celsius and tried unsuccessfully to turn the ceiling fan up from a lazy slow-motion waltz to something a little more energetic. My wife then went to turn on one of the bedside lights -- and received a strong shock from an exposed bulb-switch. My sister- and brother-in-law had similar problems with their air conditioning, and also no hot water in their sink or shower. We reported the problems to the front desk, to Guest Services, to Trip Central and to the AirTransat rep and eventually returned to our room to find the ceiling fan turning a lot faster and the room a little cooler, but certainly nowhere near 20 degrees, let alone 16. The cord of the bedside lamp was now laid across the night-table with an inline switch added into it. B&L had no such luck with their A/C and had to move their bed under the ceiling fan to get some relief from the heat. On a couple of occasions when it rained hard, water poured from the bathroom ceiling in both rooms. B&L did report patchy periods when there was warm water in their shower, but basically the rooms stayed the same way for the remainder of our 10-day stay, despite calls from the front desk to assure us they were working on the issues and requests to give the A/C time to "get up to speed". As well, the clothes iron in our room didn’t work. It's a shame about the extremely substandard rooms, because the rest of the resort has much to recommend it, including decent food and wonderful staff, if you don't mind climbing interminable steps everywhere to get to where you're going, and notwithstanding the fact that my wife cut her foot on a piece of glass in one of the pools.

The grounds on the hotel are lovely. The butler was no where to be found. The food was ok. Very challenging to make dinner reservations. The staff should have more knowledge of the English language. The resort needs upgrading.
