Wonderful Resort

Buffet had great options every day. The Beach is beautiful and usually had enough chairs laid out for everyone. We were part of a group of 18 and it is a small enough resort that we could easily find our friends. Staff were amazing, friendly and extremely entertaining. Depending on your room location, warm water was difficult to get in the shower. They did run out of cola a few days, but easily able to find another mix for drinks. Lots of fun mini excursions available from the front lobby or th [... read more]e beach. Upgrades were being done throughout the resort, and I can't wait to see them next year when we return.

Beautiful resort

The grounds were well kept, the rooms were clean, the food was better than expected. Overall, despite the depressed state of their economy, and the fact that communism really is a bad idea, the resort delivered exactly what I was looking for.

Rooms were well kept,,,people are very nice and helpful, food was good but notice buffet not hot food,,,beach and warf was beautiful, wished for different kinds entertainment,,,beach was great , lots of activities,,place to go very friendly and very safe

A Great Value

A small friendly resort. Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful beach The pier is a fantastic bonus. Food is good and available 24 hrs. Hotel is older, and shows it a little. Very clean. Amazing shape considering the hurricane damage of 2 yrs ago Price can’t be beat for the quality experience that you receive

Good Value

This hotel is about a 3.5 star hotel, very friendly staff, nice pool, great beach, and for Cuba even the food was pretty good. Quiet rooms, helpful front desk, not much to criticize. It used to be quite colourful then they painted it all white to try and look modern but it looks a bit like a low security prison, but that's a minor complaint.

Like going home to family

We have been guests over 10 times. Hotel never fails to amaze us with improvements and plans for the future. Can't wait to go back and see what Manager Carlos has improved on next. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all

Great Resort

Staff is super friendly and helpful At the pool grille bar, they have a golden beaked hawk that visits twice a day for some ham, which was very kewl Food is quite nice, but they need to have more selections. It was not very busy when I was there, so that's probably why. The new Manager Carlos is always around making sure that everything is good, and it was. Great staff

Great place, loved the beach & pool dinners, as well as the beach restaurant, but the staff were superb & went out of their way to accommodate us. Entertainment was great. The new manager was very personable and was open to our suggestions on what we thought needed attention, would definitely go back to this resort

Awesome family vacation

Traveled with my family and friends, including my 4 month old grandson, Sept 21-28/2018. The people at the Melia have never been so accommodating. Having never traveled with an infant before we really didn't know what to expect. The play pen was up to our standards as every country has their own baby standards. Was relieved and had no issues putting the baby to bed every night. A few changes. They had an awesome dinner/video dance on the beach and I absolutely loved it. Great food and some f [... read more]un games. A dinner around the pool was a nice touch as well. The hotel wasn't crowed so there were no wait lines anywhere, which was nice. Service expectational as always. People amazing and food was terrific. Thanks Kiki for always cooking our favorites you are an amazing chef. My favorite omelet lady always greeted us with a smile and a delicious omelet. Front desk staff were awesome and accommodating on check-in. Although a couple of requests couldn't be met that night, but were quickly rectified the next morning. Beach gets more awesome every time I go... Yes the pool liner still needs to be changed, some of the rooms are tired and some shortages happened while we were there. Were they deal breakers or ruined our vacation. Not even a little bit. I love this resort, not only for the beach, sun, food and great memories that we make every time we go. But for the people, the staff (whom I can't say enough about) and the new friends we make each trip. Lastly I would like to say welcome to the new and very visable manager Carlos, who took time out of his crazy days to speak to us every day, listen to a few concerns and made notes of any recommendations that we as repeat clients thought would be helpful to some much needed changes to the Melia. Looking forward to going back soon.

No complaints

Amazing place. The people, and the beach, and the experiences were fantastic. The food was ok and there was something for everyone. Had a couple of meals under the stars.We will definitely going back again.

Friendly, wonderful resort

The staff at the resort that I met were incredible , courteous, friendly and very professional. The beach and pool area were great. I enjoyed the variety offered at the buffet an a la carte venue. We enjoyed the variety of drinks available. there was 3 of us that went on this trip and we will certainly go back to this resort again.

REJUVINATING

My husband and I went to Melia Cayo Guillerimo last week. We had such a perfect, relaxing time. My husband has never been to Cuba before and he was very impressed with it all. I personally, have been 6 times. 4 times to this resort. Yes, the room and facilities are dated somewhat. They have survived a horrible hurricane in the fall last year. The beach is amazing, the food and drink is plentiful. Enough to keep you full and happy. The outdoor tables and places to relax are very peaceful and tranquil. A lot of shade if that is what you need. The pier is wonderful. The rooms were clean with comfy beds. The shows we did see were very well put on and we have left this resort very happy customers. We will be returning to this tranquil, relaxing place.

Fabulous Resort

The hotel was great, rooms were lovely, food was great, the beach bar had an amazing lunch every day, beach was unreal. Everything was close, which is what we like, so hopping from the pool, to beach, to rooms, to buffets was no problem. Staff were friendly. I would recommend this hotel no problem.

Awesome resort

Love love love this resort. Although the hotel itself is a little tired, the people and beaches more than make up for it. Both al a carte restaurants were very good and nicely decorated. Buffet had a large variety so definitely didn't go hungry. The beach restaurant had the best ribs I have ever eaten, my compliments to the chef. The amazing beach and ocean are a little bit of heaven. Went on a snorkeling excursion and was very impressed by the various fish and corals.

Good resort

This is a smaller resort 40 min. from airport. They have done an incredible job of bringing it back to its splendor after the Sept. hurricane. The gardeners are constantly working keeping it manicured. What impressed me the most was the staff. Everday with smiles and a constant commitment to your needs. I met with serval vacationers who were repeat customers. Lunch and dinner had a great variety of food. 2 grills with fresh fish, seafood, meat, chicken, and shish ka bobs. Also a pasta station which you can customize, they even have pesto. Many salad and pickle items. Several hot and cold vegetables to choose from. Fresh fruit, pastries and ice cream for desert. If booking a water excursion do it through Sammy the lifeguard. His prices are fabulous! Also Yowan a lifeguard helped us and was very knowledgeable about water life. Thanks for you companionship. This is a dated resort but kept very clean, and attentitive to customer service. Would highly recommend.

Love this resort

Love this resort mostly because it's small easy to get around ,301 rooms .very nice staff, very nice view from the room pool and beach view , I would definitely go again one of my best in Cuba so far ,food was excellent especially the buffet , calamari and shrimp which I love , the fish is awesome , pasta and more . Nice resort/nice beach

We had a wonderful time at the Melia Cayo Guillermo. Once the bar tenders and staff get to know you they are very accommodating. Our room was kept nice, fresh bottle of water every day, but, no restocking of the fridge. The beach was perfect. Awesome water and a great place for the sail boarders, even if you are just watching! The beach bar/restaurant was nice and the food was really good. We filled up at lunch and ate lighter at night as the buffet wasn't as good. Another great vacation

Grounds are recovering nicely from hurricane. Staff as friendly and accommodating as ever. Issues with no see ums after rain still am issue. Take bug spray. Fishing seems to better than ever with lots of fish caught

Loved Melia Guillermo

Thank you tripcentral! I would go back in a heartbeat the beaches are beautiful tons of chairs to sit lots of shade you can walk for hours either way beautiful colours to the water. The rooms were very clean a little dated but nothing that I would complain about but they were cleaned daily restocked daily I have no issues with that in fact I have nothing but good things to say about how clean the rooms and the hotel was. Saving the best for last was the staff they were awesome from the buffet stuff at dinner and to the bar staff always polite and so welcoming love the Spanish coffees!

Beautiful Resort

This was our first time in Cuba and we had an amazing time at the Melia resort. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The beach is breathtaking and all amenities were great and easy to access.
