Very nice resort.

I found the resort to be very big for my liking. Although trolleys were readily available. Grounds were beautiful and the resort was very clean. My room was amazing. The main pool water was a little cloudy and it could use a refurbishing. It would be nice to have drink service at the pool and on the beach. The restaurants were all very good and service was excellent. The buffet table service wasn't the greatest. It was hit & miss. Amazing vacation !

My partner and I stayed in a bungalow suite, we did not upgrade to platinum yet still felt we had an amazing time and exceptional service . Our room was close to the beach building 33 . We had no issues with mosquitoes or lack of hot water as I’d seen in other reviews. The room was nice and very clean, beds were extremely comfortable . The beach was beyond beautiful.Food at the resort was very good , a variety of options for everyone. We especially enjoyed the omelette bars at the buffet in th [... read more]e morning and often booked the a la carte steak house in the evenings , it was exceptional. Staff were generally all very nice and accommodating, many could speak English and if not were patient and considerate as we tried to communicate with them. It was overall an amazing vacation and I hope to return soon ! My only complaint would be that breakfast isn’t served until 7 am and one day we did an excursion and had to be ready for 6:30am, we did go to the 24/7 pub hoping we could get breakfast there earlier but the only option was hotdogs and hamburgers . It wasn’t the end of the world still glad to be able to get something and it wouldn’t deter me from going again by any means.

Amazing Resort

Just returned from Grand Bavaro Princess on Friday March 31st. We absolutely have no complaints. The resort was beautiful and very clean. We loved our rooms and they were cleaned each day and fridge restocked. We ate at the main buffet and the beach buffet many times and also ate at 3 a la carte restaurants. The food was excellent in all locations. No complaints whatsoever. There were food trucks right outside the beach buffet and the food there was excellent also. The only complaint [... read more] I can think of is the tiny spaces the airlines have for seats and aisle room. It is horrible sitting in those seats for 4 ½ hrs. platinum buffet is always cold unless you get something cooked on the grill while you wait, the supposedly hot plates have the food uncovered on them with air conditioner blowing cold air down in the food & i asked for a fresh hot dish of potatoes and the guy carried them out with his bare hands so i said it was supposed to be hot and it felt like he had just got them and the veg out of the fridge. also if you are platinum & go to the main area to watch entertainment there is no area to get your [... read more] international drinks they should have a little platinum bar in that area to accomodate the platinum guests who go to the entertainment the regular buffets are all hot & good so the chef at the platinum buffet should take a tip from the regular section buffet chefs

Awesome Time!

Great service, excellent food, and a wonderful place to go with or without the kids! The kids play area had organized activities each day. For example, my son played a 30 minute soccer game with 5 other kids and really enjoyed it! I would definitely come back here and would also recommend it to anyone.

Grand Bavaro Princess February 2023

We had an amazing stay at the Grand Bavaro Princess in Punta Cana, on the amazing Bavaro Beach in February 2023. The hotel has been remodelled recently and is absolutely beautiful. The rooms are well appointed with a luxurious feel - all with balconies! The grounds are superb and tended to daily; we love the lush greenery that is everywhere! There is an app to download to book the restaurants; we found it difficult to get a decent time; we were unable to book into a few of the restaurants. The food and service was exceptional! We normally do not go to larger resorts, but the Grand Bavaro did not disappoint - there was so much space we never felt like we were too close to other guests! Plenty of palapas on the beach ~ beach service would be nice, but the walk to the bar is not far! A lot of local vendors on the beach but none of them harrassed us; we kindly said no thank you and they moved on. The beach is quite large compared to some neighbouring resorts and very clean!

Nice resort

property was well taken care of, rooms were clean and very comfortable, platinum buffet food was cold but main buffet food was always warm lots to choose from and staff very friendly, beach was kept clean, pool bartenders and waitresses very friendly. not much for night life, resort was large and shuttles were always full,especially at supper time as you have people coming from beach and pools so hard to get a ride.

The resort was beautiful

The grounds were gorgeous and I loved all of the wildlife. My one complain is that it was difficult to get sugar free soda. None of the restaurants seemed to have it I got coca cola zero at one bar and in my room only had it one day and was replaced with regular coca cola. Being a diabetic as I am sure thousands of travellers are it is a necessary item.

Grand Bavario Princess

This resort was very nice. They had given us a room on the third floor which was a lot of stairs but the next day we were able to switch room closer to the pool and beach. The room was always cleaned well. The service was O.K. but we paid for premium and most of the time, there was not a server at the pool to get our drinks. The food at the buffet was cold. For diner, we went to the A la carte and the food was much better. The Soho Restaurant was a big disappointment. The staff were rude  [... read more]and never offered us desert. For all the A la carte restaurant, we had to downloads the app and order from there. They did not have paper copies of the menus. It was difficult to communicate with the staff in either English or French and was not able to get answers. There was no entertainment at all at night and no music. The Pub was very nice. The Sunwing Rep at the resort was no help at all. At our first meeting, he did not talk about the Resort but only wanted to sell us excusions. He was misleading with the document needed to leave Dominican.

Beautiful

Immaculate rooms and grounds. Great selection of restaurants. Food was fabulous. Lots of fresh fruits. Staff was amazing. We enjoyed a quiet restful vacation. Pool area and lobby entertainment was too loud, so we avoided these areas.

Beautifully rejuvenated resort

This was our second trip to Grand Bavaro Princess resort. Our first was in January 2006, with many happy memories of a special place. We added to them on our second trip in January 2023. We understand that the Princess was fully renovated in 2019 and converted from two-story to three-story "multiplexes" room complexes at that time, and with other additional improvements. Both times we stayed in the Platinum section. It now has its own pool and beach section, two restaurants (PBG and SoHo), and a [... read more] coffee and dessert café. We found the Princess section and the whole resort to be well-organized and well-run. All the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. A special shout out to Claudio and Tony, bartenders at the Platinum beach bar who could not have been more friendly, positive, welcoming, and attentive. The beach across the whole wide beachfront of the resort was well-kept (seaweed removed every morning) and secure (always had security personnel at all times during the day). We did not have any problem finding beach chairs/beds, as there sometimes is at other resorts in the area. The rooms were quite luxurious, with spacious sitting areas and balconies. There is even a mangrove swamp through which one can walk and get a glimpse of what the natural area was like before all the resorts were built. We have stayed at many different properties in Punta Cana in the last 15 years or so and there are in our opinion few better than the Princess.

Beautiful resort

The resort was immaculate with beautiful grounds wildlife and the rooms were amazing. The beach was the best part and we stayed in the platinum side which was for the extra cost. The service in the platinum restaurants really stood out and the food was wonderful. I would definitely come back to this resort we were given a beachfront bungalow which made it accessible for walking.

Great resort

It was our first time to Dominican & we had a great experience. We upgraded to Platinum and were served with a delicious cold beverage upon arrival. The Platinum pool bar was where we spent most of our days. The bartenders were amazing and really took care of us. The beach overall was very nice but there was a lot of seaweed and we were approached often for excursions, spa packages and photos. The beach is on a long strip of other resorts. The a la carte restaurants overall were very good, espec [... read more]ially the steakhouse and teppanyaki. Upgrading to Platinum gave us the option to make reservations at the restaurants. The crepes & coffee at the Frappuccino bar were the highlight of my afternoons. The staff were very friendly and the facilities were always clean. The only complaints I have about the resort are our room was never cleaned during the day and the water was not hot in the shower. We would leave our rooms around 8am and return around 4pm to a room that was not cleaned & no clean towels. I requested several days in a row for our room to be cleaned early in the day but it was not done. Some days it was not cleaned at all because it was too late in the day. Nonetheless, I would most likely return to this resort and I highly recommend it to others.

Beautiful resort but

The hotel grounds are beautiful, well maintained and the wandering peacocks and pink flamingos are beautiful. The beach is amazing and we never had a problem securing loungers. The staff are accommodating and the restaurants are very good. The only issue we had was there was no evening entertainment, no shows whatsoever. So there was really nothing to do after dinner except sit in the lobby or directly outside the lobby and listen to the piano or sax player (who were both great). And there i [... read more]s smoking permitted (think cigars, cigarettes and vaping) in the lobby bar which makes it very uncomfortable for non smokers. The rooms have either a king and Murphy bed or two TWIN beds. The Murphy bed was very uncomfortable.

Great resort

Very large hotel. I have been here previously 4 times. This resort has everything. Great rooms, amazing beach! Amazing pools and all kinds of food and restoraunts. I would like to say and consider this more of a family hotel. There is a casino just outside the resort. Outside the resort is very touristy and safe. The resort itself is beautiful. I met so many great people who have become friends of mine. There are people on the beach constantly Trying to sell excursions, cigars and souvenirs. B [... read more]ut I either pretend to sleep or tell them u have no money. I stayed in platinum this time which gave me access to book reservations at restoraunts, free room service, robes and small perks. Platinum has its own restorants, lounge, beach and pool. If u have a family with children I don’t think platinum is necessary at all. Don’t know what else to say here other than it’s beautiful. Just DONT FALL or go with the people who wear blue shirts telling you that you will get a free gift! It’s pretty much a scam.

Amazing Resort

Well let me start off the moment you get there till the moment you leave. I have been to this resort 3 times already and would do it over and over again. The ground and the rooms are amazing. Rooms are excellent and well kept clean. The maids go the extra mile,no complaints at all, all the staff are super nice, and you can tell they go the mile to keep there guests coming back for more, and speaking from experience...I AM ONE...😊

Amazing Resort but one of us had to sleep on a couch the first night

The resort was beautiful and the food was amazing. The only complaint I have is with the company that we booked with West Jet Vacations. For starters we tried for 2 weeks to book a seat on the airplane. That was a HOERRIBLIE experience to start. Everything was going well flying up till us waited in line to get into the country for over 3 hours. I understand this part with COVID. When we finally got though and found our bus. There were several people that were waiting for over 3 hours (one couple [... read more] had baby) and we still had to wait for a few more people to arrive. We waited for another 1.5 hours before the others arrived so that we could leave to go to the resorts. This was ABSOLUTELY CRAZY. They should be leaving regularly to go to the resorts. Now that we were over 5 hours late we went to check in. We were a party of 3 girls and told we were to get a 2 bedroom suite with 3 beds. All they had was a king with a CURVED couch. Good thing one of the girls wasn't that tall and they could sleep on this. I would have had to sleep on the floor. The front desk said there was nothing in notes and we needed to check back with them the next day at 1pm to see if they could accommodate another room. We didn't get to unpack for 2 days. We paid for the PREMIUM package and we had to sleep on a couch. I will never use West Jet vacations if they don't try to make this right.

Amazing Resort!

Wonderful resort in all ways! We upgraded to Platinum and found good value. Great food in all the Platinum restaurants, beach lounges comfortable and both Platinum and regular pools very nice. That being said, the resort was not full so lots of options. The resort has just reopened after a significant upgrade to all rooms (added a third story to all buildings), the rooms were refreshed and the grounds, as usual, beautiful. A few new buildings were added as well as the new Platinum pool. [... read more] The staff were all pleasant and helpful. Minor issues we had were fixed within 10 or 15 minutes - we were treated very well. There were a few things not yet opened, i.e. the Coffee Bar and the food trucks, but all in all a very nice vacation. A side note - the walk in shower in the room does not have anywhere to put toiletries (a ledge would be nice to place shampoo and soap). Great resort and would definitely return!
