Clean resort

Very clean. No hot water in my room....did not move me to a different room, even though I did complain, used friends shower, food was hit and miss...but it is Cuba...condiments hard to find, butter hard to find, no labels on food so you never know what the dish is, lots of rum but mix would run out every day....always cola on hand....not today....maybe tomorrow type of hotel...need more staff ....cleaning staff friendly.......again...it is Cuba....decent place

Very bad Hotel

This hotel has gotten very bad. It was our third trip and last trip to this resort.Definitely not a 4 star 2 at best. Needs upgrading do not consider it all inclusive when the are always running out of food drinks mix no white wine.Table were left dirty so hard to find a clean place to sit. Staff is mostly very friendly. Worst thing was the second week we were over run by locals. Arrogant rude not waiting in food lines taking whole plates off the buffet for themselves sitting and used other guest towel stating I am Cuban and can do what I want when confronted. Staff at hotel were afraid not to serve them first because of repercussions later. We spoke with lots of guest who also said they would not be returning for a lot of the same reason. We did not want to be treated better but equally. Our bus to the airport for our return trip was 1 1/2 hour or more late picking us but and we could get no answers from anyone as what was going on. It is in our purchase price to have a return bus but once we checked out there was no help. The hotel should have been notified what was going on and passed on the information to the passengers waiting. Also rats and cockroaches in the restaurant which is not the most appetizing. Would definitely NOT recommend this place any more. Our first 2 visit we loved this place but will never go back.

Okey resort

I was there fir two weeks. The location was very beautiful however the room was as not to my like . The bathroom door is as not closing, the fridge was not working I, the plug in the bathroom was loose I had to hold the plug with one hand and the blow dryer with the other. I went on the front desk three time to have that look after and some they were tanker care two days before my departure. The food was good and Planty of it .the entertainment. Was very poor..

Cuba

hotel looking a liitle tired. Rooms comfortable but needing updating. lots of outdoor areas to sit but lots of smokers use the common areas. Food in one word was terrible.Plates dirty most of time. Bar selection very limited.Staff overall were pleasant but not overly so. Front desk reception- male worker, sorry didn't get name (no name tags) Not friendly.Left poor impression upon arrival

60+ Hotel

Hotel for older peoples, Main animation at the pool is the Bingo at 4pm . Room was really old . Food was good . Employee very friendly Not enough place to seat down at the pool or beach. Hotel is old but clean.

Good resort

Beautiful beach with shallow water. Almost no waves. The food was good with lots of varieties- chicken, pork, fish with side dishes. Excellent cappuccino in the lobby bar. The rooms are a little bit outdated but clean.

Iberostar Daiquiri - Cayo Guillermo, Cuba

The hotel was very nice and well kept. The staff were incredible! Everyone was so nice and gave the place a welcoming and relaxed feel. The beaches were beautiful, kilometres of soft sand, and a great place to get in the water and snorkel, swim or even do some diving (Coco Diving Centre was only a couple minutes walk down the beach, and those guys were wonderful to dive with, I highly recommend them!!) Overall it was just a great experience, we certainly look forward to going back! The only  [... read more]downside (being non-smokers) was that there were smokers everywhere. I felt bad for the staff who don’t smoke because a lot of the smokers would hang out around the main lobby and the staff that work there were stuck having to put up with less than courteous smokers. If this place were non -smoking, it would be as close to perfect as you could get!

Staff was excellent. Very friendly and helpful. The rooms were in disrepair and needed some TLC. Beaches could have been so much more if only they had staff to clean seaweed. Seaweed was removed only once during 10 day stay

Nice place

Great staff. Food was not so good. But then again Cuba never is good for dining. Rooms were clean very nice beach as well as grounds. Entertainment should cater more to crowd........ .........................

Great hotel

This was an amazing trip to Cuba. The hotel had plenty of food and was right near the beach. The beach was clear and you can see the fish. The service was amazing and staff were kind. The room was a bit dated. But it definitely worth the money and price.

Very Run Down

This hotel has seen better days. The weather was beautiful, and the beaches were stunning. But every walkway, building and area is very run down. The rooms need a major update, as the beds are very small. Our room was double beds, but the beds seemed more like a twin size. The bedding is old, and the pillows are old. We didn't have enough pillows the first night, so I slept without one for the first night. We had no hot water in our room. Since our kids were also on our floor we declined being moved to another building and would shower in our other room. Our room was also very musty. The first desk staff are mostly rude and hurried. It took over an hour to get checked on the first day. They would also only give you one room key, as they are having supply issues with key cards. This made it hard for my family of 6. You are given free wifi, but after the time is up, you need to return to the front desk to ask for more. The front desk always seem annoyed when we asked for more time. The buffet was passable. It was the same food served all week long. Choices were very limited, but I think this is normal for Cuba. There were often no clean plates, so you had to wait for them to bring out more. Often the plates looked dirty. The staff serving the food were kind and polite. At the tables they didn't offer spoons, so each meal I would track down a spoon to feed my younger child that required a spoon. I think this is a suppy issue. they are running short on many things. The snack bar was not good. They offered french fries and plain hamburgers. Served from a very messy-looking area. No condiments, no toppings. Just a bun and meat. I was most disappointed with the entertainment. There were absolutely no activities for teens and children. There was a large chessboard, a ping pong table, and a pool table. There was no attempt by the staff to engage the children at all. they had a volleyball net at the beach, but they did not have a volleyball.

Good resort

Rooms are good. Food is decent. Less varieties than previous years. Very good espresso coffee in the bar but unfortunately the espresso machine was broken during our second week. Sport facilities include table tennis, billiard, tennis courts and gym. The beach is amazing

Fail!

Room was nice. Two hour check-in because of room keys not working. Reception staff was unfriendly. Beach view was not a beach view, but mostly another outbuilding. The grass was almost waist high and grounds were unkempt. The beach was dirty - cigarette butts, weeds with burrs growing throughout the sand, empty promise of cleaning (3-6 feet wide) sea kelp off beach (never done), broken boards in board walks. Scuba boat reeking of diesel fuel, making us sick from fumes on excursion. Jeep excursion was wonderful!! Buffet staff were super sweet! There were awesome friendly guys working around! Pools were amazing, and had great snack bar workers. Acrobat performance was top notch! Flutist was really good!

Iberostar Daiquiri GOOD TIMES

We had a great time, even though the main swim up pool and 2 a la carte restaurants were not open. The buffet and side bar food is good enough for me, I'm not a fussy eater as long as i got something to soak up the DRINKS. The atmosphere weather and beach is beautiful.. Please bring bug spray because those mosquitoes are no joke. Thanks again for a memorable experience

Lied to

I chose this hotel because it said there was wifi and a 24 hour bar and 2 restaurants plus buffet. There was 1 restaurant and the front desk only let me make one reservation for dinner there for the whole week. after 11pm you CANNOT GET ANYTHING TO EAT OR DRINK. They only give you 7 hours of wifi. They also close the pool at 6pm :// a lot of promises were unfulfilled and i feel lied to.

Amazing resort

It's not my first time in Cuba, but it was first time in Cayo Coco, and like always I didn't get disappointed. Honestly I can't get it, why everybody are complaining about the food, it was so good food there, a lots of fruits, meat , fish, seafood, pasta, vegetables, all so yummy. The customer service was great, all personnel at the resort are so welcoming, so nice!!!!! The common area always clean, same as great room service. The beach are so beautiful, just love it! For sure will visit this resort again, same as my friends with who I went there. One of them already planning to go there with a family on January 2023. Terrible resort - over stated rating by travel agency

This resort was not somewhere I would recommend anyone to stay. It’s dated, no renovations have been done in a long time. Washroom was dirty in the room, no AC in our room, food was terrible and same dishes every day. Staff was short handed but tried to do their best. The resort had majority locals. They ran out of coffee one day, ran out of beer one day. The 1 and a half pool was not maintained. Even the drinks were poor. Stop overselling your resorts by rating them higher than they are. Would not recommend this resort to anyone and would ls say do not use tripcentral rating blindly.

Iberostar during Covid times

As with all resorts this one is having a difficult time during the pandemic. The staff and management are trying very hard to keep the place safe. I noticed a big difference in the availability and variety of things to eat but I expected that. What disappointed me was the last of local fruits and foods as I had planned to make the best of the local stuff. There is still a lot of confusion with currencies. No one wants the peso so do not change any. Take $1 us for tipping but make sure you have [... read more] enough as there is no way to get any from the hotel or bank.

Cozy resort

We have been to this resort at least 4 times. Whole resort was very well maintained. Staff were very pleasant and helpful, maids were always cheerful and gardeners always greeted us. We like to stay at this hotel because there is a pier where we can relax and fish. WiFi system not very good, but everything else was excellent.
