This was a beautiful resort. Views from our room were stunning. This was one of our favourite trips. Food was good. Rooms were very clean and we'll maintained throughout the day. Service was impeccable. Staff were personable, warm and friendly. Beach was kept clean and organized. Weather was fantastic. Loved it!!!

Lovely adult's only Resort
Just came home from the Punta Cana Princess resort (March 29th until April 5th). I asked for a room near the beach on a higher level and with a view of the ocean. I got all 3. I spent most of my time at the beach. Sandy beach, no rocks and great ocean breeze. There was plenty of shade.
The buffet was large and well stocked with a variety of choices. Each night there was another "theme" night but there were always other choices if you didn't want the theme night menu. We went to the ala carte [... read more]Italian and Steak restaurants but were just as content to eat at the buffet restaurant.
There was free WiFi in the lobby but i have to admit it was slow. You can also purchase WiFi that could be used anywhere at the resort.
The room was a little quirky with a sunken living room area. Housekeeping did a good job keeping rooms clean each day. Requests for extra pillows etc were promply given.

Relaxing resort!
Punta Cana Princess is a small resort, adults only which is the perfect place to relax and go for long walks on the beach. The staff work very hard to make sure the guests are happy and comfortable. It was our 6th visit and we will visit again next year.

Ok resort!
Found resort to be well taken care of but showing it's age and needing some TLC! Check in was quick which is much appreciated late in eve. But only a point in direction of room was offered suitcases arrived sometime later on trolley that could have brought us too. Room was clean but not functional with no door on bathroom and poor lighting. Wasted space with a jacuzzi and no where to put clothes. Service was depending on how many Yankee dollars you gave out and the drinks poor quality if you di[... read more]dn't pass out enough ....no surprise there! Location and beach beautiful and workers tried to keep seaweed removed. Not a great place for early risers as security would take your stuff while you were outwalking, even shoes!!! Food was average.

Wonderful vacation!
We had a wonderful vacation at the Punta Cana Princess from February 28 to March 5.We had requested a room close to the beach because my husband had injured his leg and after arriving at dawn due to bad weather in Toronto, we were very happy to be on the bottom floor and in a room easily accessible to everything, pool, beach and Mare Nostrum.
The staff is really energetic, fun and helpful at this resort and made us feel very welcome and comfortable.A special recognition to Gray, Dalson, Jose [... read more]and Kenia as well as Ania.
We loved that we didn't have to make reservations for the restaurants and really enjoyed the seafood at the Mare Nostrum and the Fondue. The steakhouse was so-so but others were happy with it. We heard good things about the Italian.
Lots of older people here because there isn't much walking. We will come again as we age as things are convenient for you but lots of fun! The beach of course is amazing with lots of big waves to jump in. This was my second time here and it didn't disappoint.
Thank so much everyone for a wonderful vacation.

Very relaxing adult only resort but men pack your shoes
We just got back from a 2 week stay at the Punta Cana Princess and we had a wonderful holiday. We were looking to relax in the sunshine and sandy beach and we got what we were hoping for.
Pros:
What makes this resort stand out is the staff. All of them (bar staff, restaurant staff, entertainment team, maids, gardeners, front desk, everyone ) are very hard working but always smiling and ready with an "Hola" and really go out of their way to make your holiday great. Our towel rack came away [... read more]from the wall, I went to lobby to report it and it was fixed before I made it back to the our room an hour later. The bar staff remembered our drinks orders and always happy to serve us. As many others have mentioned, the staff really made our 2 weeks terrific.
The resort is quiet and relaxing with wonderfully maintained grounds, a nice pool and right on a lovely beach where you can walk for a long way in either direction. There are vendors but a simple no thank you (or better yet, no gracias) works. We walked the beach for 2-3 hours per day and honestly by the third day, they recognized us and did not even ask anymore. The ocean was rough on most days, lots of waves and the staff did an excellent job of cleaning up the seaweed if any showed up overnight.
Wonderful views from the beach bar and the beach BBQ that was held a few times a week was a treat, excellent ribs and other grilled food and refreshing sangria all served on the beach.
The resort is super clean, even the beach bathroom which can be hard to maintain was always clean. The rooms were very clean as well. No musty smell in the room as we have seen in other resorts and the AC worked well....so well we had to turn off some nights as it was too cool for us.
Entertainment team had many activities planned during the morning, and later in the afternoon. No pressure to join but fun if you wanted to. Most nights, we had a show or contest in the lobby bar or you could visit the Caribe Resort next door to see their show. We tried this one night, fun but we liked our resort so much better, less crowded, hectic and of course no kids...which is the main reason we chose an adult only resort.
We visited the gym almost every day, it was not huge but had all the equipment needed for a good workout, if you wanted to do one. Also, the pathways around the PCP and Caribe made great running trails if you did not want to run on the sand.
Cons:
The only small issue we had was with trying to visit the a la carte restaurants. I loved the idea on not having to make reservations but when we tried to go in one of our first nights, we were denied entry because although my husband had long trousers and a short sleeved dress shirt, he wore nice leather sandals. Now, I checked the dress code on the Princess website while packing and again the day before we left and there is no mention of closed toe shoes but this was required for entry. So, it was the buffet for us for 2 weeks. I did notice however, over the course of 2 weeks, plenty of men in casual shorts/sweatpants and running shoes eating at the a la cartes, so the dress code enforcement is inconsistent.
Management suggestion: I would recommend updating your website if closed shoes are required so that we can pack what is needed and being consistent in your enforcement of the dress code.
Having said that, it was not really an issue for us, the food at the buffet was good and each night had a different theme. The Valentine Day buffet that was put on extra special, and every night we had lots of choice of different items so very easy to have a nice meal, not a five star gourmet meal but still good.
However, I would advise against the Asian night. Both of us have good stomachs and never suffer any issues in our many years of travel but the first week I got sick after Asian night and the second week my husband did. Nothing major, better the next day but we never figured out what food caused the problem.
The guests here like at many other resorts we have been to are doing the towel dance with both pool and beach chairs being saved starting as early as 7am. My husband and I like to walk the beach and the resort and are not much for sitting on our butts all day but we had no problem finding chairs any time we wanted to relax by the pool or beach for a hour so not really a problem.
Overall, we had a great time and would return to Punta Cana Princess and would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet, laid back, relaxing holiday.

Good but the bugs are horrible
Was at the Princess Punta Cana All Suites Resorts from Jan 9/19 to 23/19 in Room 4008 -travelled Solo
Room was good- maid is excellent, customer service is excellent
Food is very good
Steak house is as good as Alberta for beef-which I lived in for 8 years
Italian is lovely
Swiss is good
Mediteranean cooked me lunch for at least 9 or 10 days -fresh cooked calamari and grouper and hand delivered to your table -I was in love
The Buffet is one of the best I have ever seen
The Monda[... read more]y night Italian includes Ossi Bucco -my Favourite
The pastry and bread chefs are very good
Lots of veg and the cheese is top of the line
Now the Bad
The bugs are horrible
Sand flees on the beach are horrible
The no see ums are every where
I had to buy 2 bottles of Calamine lotion at $11 US for 4 ounces just to be able to sleep - at their so called duty free shop
I spoke to a man from Hamilton and he told me they bulldozed a mangrove swamp to build the 3 hotels
I went over to the next hotel and walked thru their Garden Alley- and it is a mangrove swamp -lovely birds
Gift Shop
It is all priced in US and I am not willing to pay $35US for a spray can of Off - that I can buy at C Tire for $8 Cdn
No booze
I am 68 years old - I do not do Bars
I like to invite people over for a beer or a glass of wine to my room
There is no alcohol for sale in these resorts in their gift shop
The fridge notice says if I use the 2 beer in the fridge they will charge me surcharge to replace it
The Spa
I booked a therapeutic massage
They cut my time from 55 minutes to 50
They did not give me a 10% discount
There are no where near Canada levels- I go every 6 weeks in Sudbury and I have even had Thai Massage in China and been to massage in Tunisia and Banff -they do not even come close
Punta Cana Airport
This is a total night mare -coming and going
I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS
It was more than 2 hours coming in
Lined up in maze rat lines with at least 2000 other people from at least 8 or 10 other flights
No seats
Going out
It took more than 1 hour to get thru the "trained rat " lines- again no seats
I went to the Premium Lounge- always do- well worth $50 US
There are no seats in the departure lines and the plane was 1 1/2 hours late due to flight delays out of Sudbury due to snow
We also had another 1 hour delay out of Kitchner -due to snow in Sudbury
Staff
Sunwing staff is Lovely and very good. The pilots are excellent
Leo- on site- was very helpful when I donated $ 500 Cdn to Country Safaris to buy uniforms for 10 kids to be able to go to school- I always do this --world wide- every trip
Next trip
I will be going to Canada Blooms Mar 8-18
And I will be booking a 2 week vacation either before or after out of Toronto- likely- Juan Dolio -because I will go Fri and avoid Puna Cana .
After that I am looking at New Zealand or Australia in Oct
Please note that in the last 20 years I have done at least 50 Trips on Air Canada, Air Transit, Air France and I have done G adventures -Trans Sibirian Rail Trip plus all of Central America -except for Belise and Halifax and Victoria and US and a 14 day Trans Atlantic cruise
I book every upgrade available and on Sunwing I do Elite Plus
I hope this assists you
Now I am retired and I will be doing more

Beautifully Landscaped & Highly Professional Staff
The Punta Cana Princess has beautifully landscaped grounds with statues befitting the surroundings. The staff were highly professional - from the bartenders to the maids and most of all their customer service representative Hilda. All staff seemed to be generally enthusiastic about their jobs, very evident in their demeanor. Each morning I would have a special smoothie made with kiwi, pineapple and banana - the lady was most accommodating and remembered my order and always greeted me with her [... read more]lovely smile, clearly letting me know she was set to "whip up" my morning ritual drink. Her service was exemplary and we were happy to tip her, the omelette chef and the servers especially Francesca. As this trip included Cheryl's birthdate, the staff were fantastic. They set up a wonderful surprise dinner at the fondue restaurant, in addition to decorating our room, which incidentally was the most spectacular room we have stayed in after years of travelling. Our room afforded us a welcome fruit basket, stocked mini fridge, a complementary bottle of DR rum and a sample box of cigars. In addition, the room had both a hot tub and the very best possible view of the beach and the pool. FYI it was room 4223. Another highlight was the well stocked gym which thanks to my workouts allowed me to enjoy those cervezas guilt free...on those rainy days. A special treat was in the Princess Caribe next door which had a coffee shop called "La Creperie" be sure to check it out as it is included in your stay. Finally the beach was beautiful for walking and especially great for body surfing those waves. Enjoy your stay at The adults only Punta Cana Princess. Larry & Cheryl.

Great Friends Reunion
The Princess had a lot of great places to have fun. The beautiful Lounge by
the Beach with the Best Margaritas and Food all night long, was a great place
for your own party. The soft sandy Beach offered daily surf waves rolling in to jump and
play in with the VIP chairs with built in sun shades a few feet away. If you
just wanna bake by the pool you can keep cool by swimming up to the Bar
for your favorite beverage. The Pool staff were very personal and happy all
the time. The Grand Entran[... read more]ce of the Resort was converted into the Evening
Entertainment Shows and fun was had by all. We went with a group of 15
and were very noisy at times but didn,t have any problems and met a lot
of new people. The rooms were very fancy and updated with beautiful views from the
balconies. It is a Adult only resort but if you need more action you can visit
the adjoining Resort for more action. Great Trip was had by all

Good vacation
We enjoyed the resort very much - all staff were very friendly
The food was good - however a few other options without having to
go to other Princess resort would be nice. (Texmex restaurant was not
open at all during the week, Italian was very good, Petit Fondue was
not for us.
all in all - good for the price. I guess a 4-star
one thing we find disappointing is the liquor choice.

Poor Value for Money Spent
Punta Cana Princess is situated on a beautiful beach, the setting is lovely. The amenities however are lacking. We have travelled to the DR twice before at the same package cost and have had luxury accommodations and service. The Punta Cana Princess was disappointing. Simple things were either not available or in poor repair. There were zero tables at beach or pool areas. You set your drink and personal items on the ground. As a result, staff were constantly reaching around picking up glass[... read more]es that were rolling and blowing. The fire alarm went off in our building at all hours. We had five fire alarms happen in a 2 day period which kind of defeats the rest and relax idea of a holiday. The room while comfortable was in need or repair. We had to have our toilet repaired 3 times in the 9 days we were at resort as it was either running or leaking a puddle onto the floor. The handle in our shower fell off every day-should have been a simple fix but no one bothered. We travelled with a large group and other rooms had the same problems. The food in the buffet was decent, only complaint was they often ran out of bacon. Also the coffee machine in the beach area buffet was often out of order. The a la carte restaurants were good. Service in them was excellent and food was well prepared and tasty. We had a birthday celebration for a party of 15 in the Brazilian restaurant at the sister resort and they did a wonderful job with food and hosting. The maid service in our room was very good-no complaints about it and each day, a couple of large water bottles were left for drinking and cleaning teeth. One thing we were not accustomed to at a resort was the harassment by vendors who were extremely aggressive on the resort property outside of the lobby. It would have been lovely to look at the gift items they had for sale but we quickly learned to steer clear after we were approached and hounded after dinner one evening. A necklace we had had enquired about was for sale at $175 and when we expressed that we were only looking for costume jewelry in the $20 range, all of a sudden the same piece was only going to cost $25. The salesperson was relentless and we had to be rude in order to hand back stuff he was shoving into our hands and get away from him. Also, anytime you are in pool or just out for a stroll, be prepared for one of the 'photographers' to show up and aggressively talk you in to posing for photographs that you can buy in the lobby-a cash grab for resort. We are used to this on cruise ships but not at a resort. All in all, this was not a 5 or even a 4 star. While we will certainly travel to the DR again, we will not be coming back to Punta Cana Princess.

Resort is Okay
We stayed at the Punta Cana Princess for 10 days, the resort is okay but I don't think we will return. The resort needs to make some changes such as free WiFi throughout, not just in the lobby, it is almost impossible to get on in the evening when everyone else is trying to link in. They do offer it in the rooms for a ridiculous price, from what I hear is no better than the lobby. Pool lounge chairs are old and uncomfortable not to mention very hard to get out of. We stayed in the best honey[... read more]moon suite which was nice but on the top floor, they list it as the second floor but is really the third floor and there are 4 flights of stairs. Not good for someone with mobility issues. Food was okay but people did get sick from Mare Norstrom the 24 hour restaurant. No air conditioning in buffet, lobby and most restaurants either. Not much on site so night is boring unless you take the shuttle to the casino which is off site and open to the public not just hotel guests. If you are a beach person you wont want to go in summer months as the seaweed problem is bad. Not the hotels fault but tour operators don't advise on this and its awful. Most reviews indicate Building 5 is the best, I disagree, 4 is the best. Don't pay for ocean view, only one room is ocean view which was ours (5217) and the view is obstructed by large trees and the spa. Seaweed bags are piled under the balcony in #5 and the smell comes up from the drains every time you flush the toilet. At the ocean end of the pool the smell of seaweed is bad as well. I will say the fridge worked great in our room and the staff get a 5 star rating. They were friendly and courteous, Ragsa and Rauole from the buffet were awesome and Nelson at the pool bar was wonderful. It is reasonably priced but in my opinion is not a 5 star resort. It is 4 star at best. By the way the pool is not open until 9 am if you go in earlier than that they will tell you to get out. The workers start at 8 which should be 7 so pool can open at 8. 9 is ridiculous.

Almost like home to us.
This was our eighth visit to the Punta Cana Princess, so it is obvious we like it. The Hotel is fairly small so everything is close by. The staff are very friendly, helpful and cheerful.
The rooms, grounds, pool and beach area are clean and well kept.
The food has variety and there are four a la carte restaurants to choose from as well as the main buffet.
Access to the large resort next door is a bonus and various excursions/tours/activities are available..
On this visit the 'no see um' [... read more]bugs and mosquitoes were quite bad and many guests, including us, were badly bitten.
The Wi Fi could be updated.
However, overall it is a great place for a winter getaway.
