Iberostar paraisso Del mar

This resort was exactly what I was looking for . Jorge Garcia gave me lots of good information and we hope to come back again next year ! I was very happy with the gym and golf course . My wife enjoyed the pool as well as the beach . We spent several hours laying in the sun enjoying the property .

Beautiful, Relaxing Vacation

This resort was absolutely beautiful with the walking paths, animals, and foliage. The staff was always cheerful and helpful, and we found the food to be superb (especially the international buffet!). The only complaint we had were the pillows were not very comfortable, but it wasn't really enough to complain about. But the small shopping centre was a lovely short walk away. A Beautiful Resort!!

The Iberostar Paraiso del Mar is hands down, a five start Resort!. We stayed the last week of December and into the New Year. I can't say enough good things about this resort. It was my first time travelling at Christmas and I thought it was going to be incredibly busy but this resort is so big, you never had to wait for anything and it was never crowded. This resort had a mini mall and more restaurants we could use, in [... read more]cluding a taco bar, burger bar, ice cream and crepe bar, casino, spa and gift shops. The grounds of the resort were always cleaned and well maintained. Lots to look at, very picturesque. Trolley carts with drivers were always available to take you anywhere around the resort if you didn't want to walk. The staff and servers were so kind and generous. Always made sure you were well taken care of. We always tipped well to show our appreciation. The food was amazing. Always something new to try. I recommend the Japanese Restaurant as one of your a la carte choices. The waiter taught me how to use chopsticks. I ate my entire meal with them. The chefs put on a fabulous show and the food was incredible. If you didn't want to eat at the a la carte restaurants you could always go to the buffet. It was large and had endless delicious food choices. The pool was incredible. I stayed in the quiet zone because I wanted the opportunity to relax and read. I purchased a float at the pool side store and floated my way to the swim up bar frequently to enjoy one of the many delicious drinks they offered. (the quiet area has one of the 3 swim up bars in it) . If I wanted some excitement, I floated on down to the other end of the pool area where all the games and music were happening. Foam parties, aqua swim, ninja warrior games. Always something going on. We had a standard room that was located closer to the buffet, lobby and theatre. Fresh sheets and towels everyday Mini bar stocked everyday. It was like walking into a brand new room each and every day. You cannot hear your neighbours. The only noise we heard was in the evening from 9 to 11 pm from the theatre when they had big shows. It didn't bother us and was not too loud. We were located on the 3rd and top floor of the villa. By the end of the day, we were tired and did not want to climb the stairs, but it was not the end of the world. We did not spend a lot of time at the beach. Although very beautiful, it was quite windy and the waves were pretty big. The red flag was out most of the time so you could not go in the waves but it was nice to walk in close to shore. The seaweed was a problem on shore I think because of the water conditions. There was always workers trying to clear it. It was not mushy or smelly. It didn't really bother me. You just had to walk through it to get to the water. (Maybe 2 feet wide. I guess you could describe it as rubbery plant like). I would definitely recommend this resort for families or couples and I would be happy to visit again.

Great resort...

We had two rooms booked and we got there early and got a bit of a run around at the front desk.English not the greatest. We just wanted one room if possible .They told us our rooms were empty . just needed cleaning. We decided to walk around and kill some time and found out that half the pool was closed due to broken pipes .Would of been nice to get a heads up at the desk about the problem. Great bar service .Great food. Grounds well kept. Staff were amazing. Drinks were great. Shows were fabulous. Our drivers on the golf carts were so much fun.We want to go back for sure.

A Wonderful Week

My boyfriend and I vacationed here for a week in October during the hurricane season. Overall, I’d give it an 8/10! Beach and pool were lovely, the staff (entertainment) were amazing! Only wish the food was better.

Great vacation

everything was perfect, gardens were amazing, room comfortable and clean, food was pretty good, staff was really polite and efficient at every post...beach was beautiful except for the algue I felt safe and will definitely go back

3rd time is a Charm

We continue to go back to the Del Mar because they have always provided us with great service and food. Lilly and Fanni the concierge staff greeted us even before we were checked in to make sure they could provide assistance which these ladies went out of there way to help. Jacito in the breakfast area by the pool always made every morning an entertaining and fun start to the day. Roger at the beach bar and Javier at the lobby bar were also great to keeping everybody looked after for refreshment [... read more]s. They seem to have made small improvements throughout the areas, ( likely only noticeable to return guests). The entertainment staff, Alex, Luis, Ruby, Lilyhan,Stephanie and Giovanni almost became family with all their energy, enthusiasm and open hearts. They kept us smiling and laughing all week along with the fun fun pool games.The attitude at the resort is laid back and happy. I was impressed to see that none of the staff were heads down on their cell phones while on work time. They were always attentive to any guests requests. A small casino has recently been added for entertainment. The bird wildlife is always a pleasure to see. The beach waitress Petra was always so cheerful and helpful everyday. Will plan for another return visit because we have not been let down so far on the service and the smiles.

Great Time !

Resort & rooms very clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Bartenders amazing .. loved Victor at the pool bar... Beach was ok .. windy .. lots of seaweed. Never a problem finding chairs at beach or the pool ... which was amazing . Disappointed in the A-la-Carte restaurants .. food was good but the presentation not as good as our last year visit to the Iberostar in Puerto Plata DR. and felt as if we were being rushed. Requested a room overlooking the pool .. which we got, but didn't realiz [... read more]e you couldn't see it for the "jungle view" .. it wasn't bad ... just not noted you wouldn't be able to see the pool. We stayed in block 13 ... long walk up to lobby if you didn't use the golf cart shuttles .. would request block 15 or 16 next time. Overall great place .. would go back again.

LOVED IT!

This was our fourth time going to Iberostar Mexico. The first three times we stayed in Parisio Beach and this last time in the Del Mar. Both are wonderful. They are both clean, well maintained and offer great services and terrific food. I prefer the Parisio Beach as it just seems brighter and the paths outside seem brighter, however both the Parisio Beach and the Del Mar are wonderful vacation bookings. The Iberostar staff was a little pushy on their "Club" breakfast and presentation but ea [... read more]ch time we just declined and they went away. But having said that we would give the Iberostar Mexico a 10 out of 10!!!. Travel tip: be careful of the false shuttle guys at the airport who try and trap tourists into private shuttle companies. If you have already paid and have a voucher for a shuttle, make sure they show you your name on their list before you give them yours!

Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar Review - November 2017

Our family of four stayed here at end of November and overall our experience with the hotel/resort was very good. This is a very big resort and even though there are shuttles we found at times they were few and far between. Our family did a lot of walking so be prepared!! Staff are very friendly though and the customer service was excellent. The grounds were exceptionally clean and well maintained. Public areas were mostly very clean. Bathrooms by the beach were gross (as we’ve found at all resorts we’ve stayed at in Mexico), but the other restrooms by the buffets and in the lobby areas, etc were very clean. Our room was pretty good overall. I would say it could stand to use a bit of updating and the beds weren’t the most comfortable, not like at home, but were okay. A few issues on arriving in our room i.e. no hand soap, no coffee and during the week our safe wouldn’t open. However, when reporting these issues to reception they were there very quickly with someone to address/correct any problems. The only thing we didn’t like was the push from the staff beside check in/out to sit through a session to buy property or a timeshare through Iberostar as the attitude from one particular staff member wasn’t appropriate. I don’t need to hear that you’re “just doing your job”. I’m just on vacation and if I’m interested in sitting through any sessions on timeshares or buying property there, then I will approach someone. I don’t appreciate the staff being so pushy about it and having an attitude when I politely said I’m not interested. Food overall was very good. We ate at three a la carte’s (Mediterranean, Japanese, and Brazilian). By far the best was the Japanese and Brazilian. The Mediterranean wasn’t really enjoyed by anyone in our party. It was so hot in the restaurant. Odd because the Brazilian was just beside it and it was very cool inside. It was just so uncomfortable. When it’s cooler outside then in you know that’s a problem. The food itself was just okay. Some of the appetizers weren’t very appetizing. The main part of our meal was alright. My chicken was dry though. We didn’t like the dessert choices either. It was like eating at the regular buffets. The regular buffets were good although I would have liked to have seen more of a variety especially with this being our third time in Mexico. Lots of amenities for the whole family. A little pricey though i.e. seadoo with someone else driving for 30 minutes was $60 US I believe we were quoted. Parasailing for two was $120 US for 30 minutes. The pool area was excellent. Especially for the little ones there is shallow areas and areas that have a slope to enter which was great. I appreciated that this resort had quiet areas at the pool so depending on where you sat you could get away from the noise of the bars if you wanted to. Never had an issue finding seating there even some of the beds with the canopies were open if you went throughout the day. Beach was excellent. Water could be a bit choppy at times but overall we had a great experience there. Only recommendation I would suggest would be for Iberostar to look at their policy about putting towels on the chairs. I have never been to a resort where you can’t go put a towel on a chair and come back to the chair later. At Iberostar if you leave a towel unattended they not only take your towel but you lose your beach chair. This then requires a trip to the lobby to sort this out and get new towel cards which is a huge hassle. I heard a lot of people complaining about this while we were there and having stayed previously in Mexico twice at other resorts, I didn’t appreciate this policy as this has never been an issue at other hotels/resorts.

Great value, lots of fun.

Grounds are beautiful. Pool is well kept. Lots of seating by the pool and by the beach. Lots of birds and wildlife.. Great food and service. We had a great time. Highly recommend iberostar to anybody.

Great hotel

The hotel aria is great: the pool nice, rooms are clean and the restaurants are perfect. The hotel representatives are professional and friendly. The beach has rooks and when we stay in hotel on the last week of March the ocian has a lot of weeds.

Beautiful place with friendly people

This was a great vacation. Good food with lots of choices. This resort is very clean and well maintained. Helpful people and the service is over the top. Day trips to eating at the specialty restaurants was all handled very professionally.

Best resort !

I loved it, the beach is amazing and it's easy to find a good spot any time of the day. The resort is beautiful the pools are huge. The food is good. I had a great time and I definitely recommend it for singles, couples and families.

3rd TIME STILL A CHARM

Our Del Mar return visit was just as enjoyable as previous visits. Food was great, ALL the guest services staff were friendly, helpful and had great sense of humor. Lionel and Roger, the pool bar hosts were great fun keeping up to many demanding requirements all served with a smile and a joke ! Lots of fun playing the pool games and the preshow antics games. Room was clean and well stocked, only a small issue, that was corrected promptly when requested. Beach area was always well kept on the b [... read more]oard walk. The sea weed on the beach was overwhelming at times, mother nature was not friendly. The beach crew worked endlessly to try and keep up with it. Will plan to go back again. ! Amazing resort

The resort grounds were immaculate, staff so helpful and friendly, and the food was amazing! The buffets had great selection. It was nice to have the choice of walking or taking a golf cart shutttle to different areas of the resort. The mall was great and took advantage of going for tacos and crepes.

Nice resort

I had the pleasure of staying at the Paraiso del Mar from Jan 27 to Feb 3. All in all a lovely place, beautiful and well maintained grounds, nice beach area, great pools, however contrary to advertised the Del Mar DOES NOT have a lazy river. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. All the amenities are within close proximity. A good experience.

Iberostar paraiso del mar

We stayed in January and I could not complain about anything. Everything about this resort was excellent. There is something for everybody all ages on this beautiful resort. This was my third time to Mexico and this one topped the list. The a la carts were terrific. I read bad reviews about the Italian but ended up being my favourite. Beautiful resort as always!

This is our 5th time staying at the Iberostar resorts and the 2nd time at the Del Mar. Our first time was 2003 and now back in 2016 the resort is even better! The beach is gorgeous, clean with the white sandy beach. The waitress served us on the beach and was always available and speedy. The service was very good. The swim up bar was really fun. Suggest you try a Daiquiri with rum floater (careful!) and tequilla shot with sangrita chaser. Everyone is always smiling. Olivia who works in the lobb [... read more]y bar was exceptional. She was so friendly and was always one step ahead of our drink order and popcorn lol. The food was good and plentiful but we wished they had more of a selection. Our room was cleaned daily and there was always someone around to ask for extra towels or such. Checkin was smooth and fast. In short go! If you have kids even better. Bring them also as the Star Friends are super entertaining and fun. Hola

Exceptional Hotel

Our stay from August 20-27, was wonderful. We celebrated our 25th Anniversary while there. The hotel sent champagne and strawberries to our room that day. That night at dinner the sample was covered in rose petals and more champagne. Above and beyond.
