Great resort

Great resort. Beautiful beach. Huge lobby. Amazing service. Great buffet. Clean resort, pools and rooms. AC didn't work. They offered to change our rooms. Hate the chair reservation using towels despite signs everywhere.Not enough umbrellas at the pool or beach.

Amazing resort

Everything was fantastic . Rooms were very clean and taken care of. Refrigerators had plenty of drinks every day. Food was very good and plentiful. Staff were fantastic at restaurants and bars anywhere on the grounds. It is fairly quiet but busy enough.

Amazing resort!

The food was fantastic. The shrimp bisque from Blue Moon was out of this world! The beaches were breathtaking, clean, white sand, clear warm water. The pools looked nice but we didn’t use them once because the beach was so nice. The system on getting beach loungers needs to be better, but this happens at every resort.

Nothing fancy. But clean and good service

Nice resort. Very clean. Service was very good. Everyone worked very hard and was very friendly and did their best. The a la carts were not very organized. Didn't seem to have much management. They super overserved our 18 year old MULTIPLE times throughout the week. NOT COOL! The rooms need work. Our laminate floor was all warped and beat up. The dresser was missing pieces, not much clothes storage, the table in our balcony almost toppled over.

Disappointing

Rooms, grounds, beach lovely Entertainment and all staff lacked good communication skills in the English language Very disappointing. Entertainment sub par. I have to DR many times and this was the worst experience

Great Family Resort!

Our TripCentral rep, Wendy Harrington, helped us pick the most affordable yet high quality vacation package. She had multiple conversations with us about different resorts and we ended up with Ocean Blue and Sand; which was GREAT!! It was a perfect trip for me, my husband, and my 1 year old baby. The beach at this resort was beautiful with soft white sand and clean blue water with almost no seaweed. The food at this resort was delicious and service was exceptional, as a family that eats only halal meat there were many vegetarian and seafood options. The resort offers a privilege membership upgrade for an extra $60-75USD per person/per day which comes with access to butler service, jacuzzi in room, access to the cabanas on beach and specific area near pool. However, we did not get this option and still had an amazing time. ROOM PROS: - Rooms and washroom/shower were specious. - The AC worked great and the maid kept our room clean; even washed our baby dishes! - They restocked water bottles/beverages daily. - They also replace bedsheets every third day unless requested otherwise. The room had a nice private balcony but the view was facing the resorts side forest which we liked but you can request a pool view, no Seaview option. ROOM CONS: - The shower had 2 heads, a removeable showerhead and a rainforest showerhead. The rainforest showerhead did not work in out washroom, however, we were grateful to just have hot water so it didn't bother us that much. Also, the removeable showerhead was more useful to us. -The bedsheets didn't seem clean when we first got there, we found an earing backing in one of the beds. ACTIVITIES: Lots to do in resort such as free Kayaking, bowling alley(Some pins were missing, alley #4 was the best), batting cage, pool tables (some balls were missing), table tennis, basketball net, pool/beach volleyball nets, 2 beach soccer nets, arcade game at Overtime and lots of board game on the second floor of family lounge. The family lounge also had VR, Laser Tag and PS5 gaming consoles with 2 TVs. SAFETY: The gated resort is super safe with security patrolling premise 24/7. WALKABILITY: This resort is not too big but not too small. It was the perfect size for us to walk around with baby stroller. The beach was less than a 5 min walk from our hotel room. They also have shuttle buggies driving around to pick you up if needed. FOOD & DRINKS: The resort has 2 buffets that offer breakfast, lunch and dinner; the main buffet was our favorite. They switched up the menus daily. They do not offer halal food which we knew before going here but they had a lot of seafood and vegetarian dishes. The resort has other restaurants as well. I would recommend getting the ice cream Cappuccino from Mike's Coffee Shop and the Sweet Cake flavor from the ice cream Shop, both were 10/10. Room service was really great but the menus weren't accessible. NOTEWORTHY DETAILS: The staff was very friendly especially with our baby. Special shoutout to the lady working at the baby daycare called Daisy Club and the man working at overtime from 6pm-6am who also served us at the main dinner buffet, he was very nice and taught us about Dominican culture. The photographers Carlos and Kevin were very professional and took great family portrait shots of us on the beach. The photographs are expensive $20 USD/per picture but more you buy the cheaper. We would still recommend cause the quality and location of pictures were priceless. The souvenir shop is extremely expensive, they do have a day where vendors come to sell souvenirs for much cheaper (for us it was the Wednesday we were there). The resort is accessible as it has ramps for all entrances. I would recommend the resort the clean the daisy club sand since there a lots of rocks which is not safe for babies/toddler.

Beautiful Resort…

This resort is beautifully maintained & spacious. Rooms are very nice and very clean. The staff very accommodating, polite and always greeting with a smile. Staff is always there to help you if needed. Lots of activities. There are 2 swimming pools which are big and beautifully maintained, lots of lounge chairs around pool. Fantastic beach, clean, no seaweeds, great for walking, lots of lounge chairs on the beach. Food is great, lots of choices at the buffet, wide selection for breakfast [... read more], lunch and dinner. Resort is large so if you like walking, like I do, you can make lots of steps, however if walking is not you thing there is a tram/shuttle that will take to any part of the resort. The restaurant on the beach is fantastic, lots of choices. We stayed January 30,25 to February 6. Overall we were very pleased with the resort and will recommend to our friends.

Lovely resort

The entire resort was spotless, food excellent, staff very friendly and obliging! Our room was well appointed, lots of storage, daily maid service. Beverages were replenished daily. Several restaurants to choose from but we personally enjoyed the beach buffet and main buffet as well.

Fantastic..

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Oceans Blue and Sand Resort..we don't have any complaints ..food was great..staff was good..welcome staff was over the top as soon as you set foot off bus....We had a Happy Anniversary banner put on our door for the 10days..was really nice..

Good resort

The beach, pool and lanscaping was excellent, the room and buffet dining was good, we never tried the restaurants because from past experience the portions are small and you do not feel satisfied plus buffet had a large selection to choose from.

Ocean Blue and Sand

When we booked our trip, we asked our agent to request a 1st floor room, close to the beach, due to my wife having knee issues. At check-in we were told we were in 8 block on the 3rd floor. We told them about our request for a 1st floor room through our booking agent but were told there were no other rooms available. This seemed very odd to me because it was quite obvious they were nowhere near capacity. After the first night, we noticed our air conditioner didn't seem to be working properly [... read more] so we went to guest services to request someone look at it. They said they would send someone right away. That night, the same issue as the room was quite hot. Next morning we went to guest services and again asked to have someone look at our air conditioner, told them this was our second day complaining about it and again were told they would get on it right away. Well nothing changed. The coldest our room ever got was 26.5 C. Could l or should l have gone back a third time to complain? l guess l could have but why get upset and have to argue when on vacation. If Ocean Blue and Sand wants to be considered a 5 Star Hotel, they should have made sure our concerns were taking care of. The room, other than the air conditioner not working properly was actually quite nice. The grounds are kept amazing and there are 2 pretty good sized pool areas. The beach was also nice but lacked many Palapas. The only ones available were all in the back in the shade for most of the time. They have lots of room on the main beach to add some, and this would be a great addition to the property. The beach was nice. If your susceptible to mosquito's, make sure you bring lots of bug spray. l learned the hard way after the first night as l was eaten alive. My legs were a mess the next day while my wife had no bites. The restaurants were fairly good in our opinion. The main buffet was ok with lots of choices and although it wasn't on the better side of what we have seen over the years of travel, it was adequate enough in our opinion. The Sensai (Japanese), the Steak House (El Bodegon) and the Italian (Mascherati) were all good. We weren't allowed in the Blue Moon as long pants and shoes were required, something l don't bring down south. Route 66 was ok for a quick bite and more of a pub style dinner. At the beach, Villa Marina was also ok. Some of our favorite servers were Kelvin (Cline) Morales at the main lobby bar, Hugo and Edwin at the sports bar. This was our third time in the Dominican and we have also been to Aruba, Curacao, Barbados, Antigua, St. Marten, St. Thomas, St. Kitt's, St. Lucia, Jamaica, Cuba, Grand Cayman, Mexico and Turks and Caicos, just to give you an idea of how extensively we have travelled and to summarize how we rated this Hotel.

Beautiful Resort

This resort was spotlessly clean and staff were constantly maintaining the property. The staff we're exceeding friendly and very helpful. The food was very good in both the buffets and the restaurants. You hear many comments about don't drink the water in the Dominican but the water in the bars, restaurants and buffet was perfectly safe to drink. (and so was the ice which is all brought in in bags) They DO SAY do not drink the water from any taps in your rooms. We stayed away from the salads  [... read more]due to warnings online about resorts in the Dominican, but many people were partaking daily and we did not hear of anyone having any issues. The pools were beautiful and clean and so was the beach (beach swept each morning by machines to clean up any seaweed) Both the pool and the beach were short of chairs for the number of guests. We had beautiful weather (January 7-14) and absolutely no bugs. We did hear of others being there in May and the mosquitos were very bad. I had hoped to do some snorkelling from shore but it was very poor. There is a reef a ways in from shore and I did swim out there once and had a great time snorkelling. However, the boat traffic between the shore and the reef discouraged me from trying it again (and I was warned not to) The only real complaint I might raise about this resort is that all of the entertainment was ridiculously LOUD !! We often let the area of entertainment due to the level of noise, which is a shame because it did seem like decent programs. There was a shortage of things to do at the resort but they did offer excursions for a substantial fee. Overall we were very pleased with this resort and would suggest it to friends looking for a beautiful place to rest and take in the sun.

Beautiful resort!

Positive: Nicely maintained buildings and property. Lots of activities available Nice beach Good variety of food Clean rooms and lounge areas Park-like setting Friendly staff everywhere Negative: boat traffic is pretty close to shore …didn’t feel comfortable to swim out to the reef to snorkel. (There is a bouy line to define a swimming area) We did not go on any excursions …mostly relaxed on the beach. They could use a few more chairs at the beach and at the pool. Amazing stay at Ocean Blue Punta Cana

The hotel and grounds were very well kept, everything was clean and fresh. Nice beach, clean water and 2 large pools! Loved that a number of a la carte restaurants didn’t require reservations and the food was excellent - the Mexican and Japanese were our favourite! We also appreciated being able to catch our football games at the sports bar. I would recommend taking a private transfer vs the provided transportation as it was a bit of a drive.

Great resort

Great resort with Great food. The work they have done with the beach is amazing. Been here 3 times and the beach is improved. Buffet is fantastic always Great food to eat. The entertainment personal have been replaced and in my opinion needs work, but thay are new so to be expected.

Great resort

Beach was beautiful. The food was really good. Coffee bar was amazing! Our balcony jacuzzi didn’t work nor did they try to fix it or resolve the situation.. so it was a bath not a jacuzzi… the entertainment was weak but the drinks were good.

Yes, a great place

We were 10 of us just came back. Very nice place with no shortage for anything. Plenty of food, drinks , right size crowd while there , clean rooms , no lineups and ample and friendly staff to cater. Restaurants were wonderful, snack bar was awesome, nothing to beat the coffee shop and Ice cream parlour. Beach and poolside events were well hosted by talented staff with prizes for every game. MJ show was better than the one in Vegas! Nightclub was fantastic. DJ was a blast. we were there every  [... read more]single night. Good beach and taken good care to clean out the weeds. Overall we were very pleased with the resort and how it is managed. Special mention Hilary and Ariel for superb customer experience!

Ocean Blue ans Sand

We just returned from the resort.The resort grounds are well kept also the pools. Coleen our agent requested 2 beds, but on our arrival we had king side bed. We did raise our concerns and the did find 2 beds room.The room was a good size .The bathroom was nice and clean ,air condition worked well.But you have no place to hang your clothes .The safe was hard to work it was old you had to push the buttons few times before it worked.We had no telephone for 3days.The balcony door was closed by a big [... read more] pin, no door handles at all.The big mirror in the room was marked badly.We did used the desk for our clothes. We left the room for the beach around10 AM returning around 3PM most of the time I had to look for made to clean the room. Water for drinking we had ask always to give us more. The restaurant in the resorts were very good, good choise. On other hand the buffet by the beach was almost the same food for2 weeks.The main buffet was the same.When you like to have egg or omelette there were lines you had to wait. For dinners not to much choice.The beach was very nice ,warm water enough umbrellas if you got to the beach early.The social life is excellent for people.

Fantastic Resort!

This resort is excellent in many ways. The rooms are very nice and clean, the grounds are well maintained and the staff are always there to help you if needed. The food is the very best we have had at any resort! There is a wide selectin of menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food is very tasty and of very good quality. The pools are beautiful and well maintained and there are lots of activities. The beach is very nice for both swimming and walking. There are several resorts around when you walk on the beach so you are not alone. The resort is very well laid-out so all of the restaurants and shopping is very central on the boulevard. The Lobby is huge and the center of entertainment activities. The theater, bowling alley, casino, Mike's Coffee and Ice Cream Parlor are all adjacent to the Lobby. There is an excellent variety of entertainment, every night and the Piano Bar is the best! Many children activities all day long, so they cater to every age group. There was a rock band one night and excellent Tenors another night. Other types of music was also played for everyone's enjoyment. The Blue Team is very good and try to engage all guests to have a good time. You will truly like this resort!!

A1 site and service

Had zero to complain about. Everything from beach to food to cleanliness and the staff were all top notch. I would recommend this for all age groups. Beach was cleaned of weeds, food was always good, buffet was switched daily and the staff were very friendly.
