Wonderful vacation

The resort is beautiful, clean and delicious. Well kept grounds, clean rooms, scrumptious restaurants. Never waited for food or drinks. Amazing staff. Now the bad. When we arrived at airport we had to fill out another declaration from. Mass confusion. It is 9pm we are hot and tired. The print on the forms are so small. Why couldn't we do it on plane ? We waited over an hour for everyone to complete these forms so we could shuttle to our hotel. And there were no drinks. Not a welcome cock [... read more]tail, not beer for sale at airport or on bus, first time for us, no beer ! Not even water to drink! When we arrived at hotel there was 1 sandwich in room. Only sandwiches available from room service. By now it is 11pm. We are at only bar open, no snack bar !the Disvo has ear splitting music and of course no one in it. We grabbed drinks and sat in lobby. Next problem. SMOKING. It is not enforced. Smoking with non smoking sections. Saw people sit at non smoking tables and smoke. Some took signs off table. Staff would do nothing about it. My last complaint is the bar , disco closes whenever.....we were seated in front of glass door to Disco, playing cards, drinking, and tipping. Twice she closed bar an hour early. Didn't ask if we would like another drink, of course ! And didn't tell us she was closing. We would have been quite happy with another drink or 2. It was only midnight and all inclusive. The Activities were great. Sometimes you had to remind them but they were willing g to play all the games and we had a great time !

Fantastic resort for any desired vacation.

It is as quiet and intimate as you want it to be. There are also activities throughout the day and evening to become fully engaged if you choose. The food was the best I have had at an all inclusive destination. Staff were all very friendly, polite, helpful and caring. I cannot say enough about the experience from pick up at the airport, check-in, room cleanliness, food, drinks and general hospitality. Awesome Resort

Wonderful place to relax. The best food I’ve ever had at any all inclusive. Very small quaint resort. Highly recommend it. Beach water is rough so not good if your not confident in the water. Lots of beach miles available to walk.

Beautiful and relaxing gem

From the moment we arrived our stay was relaxing. Our rooms were ready (earlier than stated check in time). The staff and porters all smiling and welcoming. My husband and I travelled with our two daughters to spend New Years in a beautiful relaxing oasis and to say goodbye to a year best forgotten (2019). And that is exactly what we got. We loved the showers with the big rain heads and beautifully tiled floors and walls. The public bathrooms were also very beautiful with carved rock sinks and beautiful local marble tiles. We liked going to the buffet for each meal as opposed to the a la carte restaurants. The wait staff were quick and attentive. There was a large variety of good quality food choices that were varied each night. We tried the Fusion restaurant one night, and while delicious and presented beautifully, we did not want to spend a long time at dinner and preferred to sit around the lobby/bar area and listen to the local talent sipping cocktails and chatting with the friendly and entertaining animation crew or other guests. While the pool area was stunning and welcoming, we ended up spending all of our time down by the beautiful and clean beach. You could walk a long way each direction. We had a blast boogie boarding and playing volleyball. The beach staff from the animation crew to the bartenders were always friendly and smiling. They seemed very happy to be there and enjoyed their jobs along with the guests. We found beach chairs every day but the ever present towel on chairs with nobody in sight was an issue here as it seems to be in every resort. LOVED that the towels did not require towel cards and that we could use as many as we wanted. What a refreshing idea! There were a few animation crew that made our stay especially fun and comfortable. Honourable mention for Miguel Jordan and Adolfo! They just made the trip so fun and cheery. There were others that also stood out but I do not remember their names. The grounds were very beautiful with a large variety of exotic and flowering plants, and extremely well maintained. This resort is not necessarily about the night life as it quieted down fairly quickly and the disco was on the beach so you could not hear it past 10pm. News Years eve on the other hand was extremely well done with an incredible banquet dinner followed by a crazy party by the pool. No expense was spared and food included lobster, any kind of seafood you could want, elaborate dishes and decorations. The party had a light and sound show to rival any I have seen. The staff worked very hard to ensure everyone had a blast. The next morning, the resort was pristine again. I cannot imagine how much work it took to recover the serene beauty of the grounds after such a big party. Bravo Viva Wyndham V Samana!

Incredible Place

We had an amazing time the hotel is stunning the beach is peaceful and beautiful. Stayed in the bungalow. Highly recommend. Only complaint very poor pressure in the showers. Food just ok but I am picky.

Viva Winham

Beautiful beach, clean water,small, modern and quiet, everything we were looking for. Food and drink very good, no need for a la carte reservations, although main restaurant has always interesting choices available.Money well spent.

Pleasantly surprised

Absolutely stunning. Grounds well kept. Felt like a 5 star. True meaning of all inclusive, cabanas, sun huts were all included. The view from the lobby was breathtaking. Friendly helpful staff. Pleasantly surprised by the seafood restaurant

Pictures don’t do this resort justice

Check in was fast and easy, room requests granted and easily found with all items in working order and clean. Food was great with enough selection to satisfy, all seasoned well in my opinion. No reservations at a la cartes, and guys can wear shorts, also never any wait. Beach is stunning and clean, clear water with no seaweed or shells/corals to hurt your feet, nice waves but not too big. Nice secluded resort with enough activities to keep you entertained, but never overbearing or pushy. Evening entertainment was a bit of a let down..but the disco was available to dance if desired. I’d go back as it’s a short drive from the airport and secluded. Make sure you land at AZS not puerto plata All in all a great holiday.

Beautiful Resort

Zen like atmosphere. Long beach to walk. Loved the outdoor yoga. Clean grounds and rooms. Nice variety and good food. Friendly staff, great animation team. Close to Las Terrenas if you wanted a change of pace. Variety of day trips offered. Will definitely be returning in the future.

Beautiful Relaxing Resort

This resort was one of the most beautiful resorts I've been to. The size of it's perfect and the ambiance was so relaxing. The staff was topnotch, especially the animation staff! No problems getting chairs at the pool or the beach the whole time we were there. The beach is incredible, not crowded & perfect for long walks to the Luis's bar down the beach. The food selection was good. The rooms were a little small, but who cares... you don't go on vacation to stay in your room! Paradise away from home

This hotel was amazing. Beautiful beach and grounds. So peaceful and quiet. Perfect size. Excellent food and variety. The entertainment staff is great. This is not a roudy resort , so if that is what you are looking for this wouldn’t be for you. The landscapes and views are amazing. The beach is so clean :)

Fantastic Resort - Will return

This was such an intimate resort. The grounds were well manicured, the public washroom were spotless and it was a very relaxed atmosphere. There was no pressure to make sure you had a "towel card" as there were lots of clean towels in the morning and you could take as many as you liked. There were lots of games to play on the beach ie. darts,ping pong, bocce ball and adult musical chairs. We were a little disappointed with the content of the shows at night but we've travelled so many times to different resorts that it wasn't a priority for us. The rooms were clean and the showers in the washroom were fantastic. Lots of hot water!! The buffet was good but could have had a little more variety. You didn't have to reserve for the ala carte restaurants and you could go as many times as you liked. The staff at the reception were always ready to be helpful and very friendly. We can't wait to return. We loved it!!!!!

Super belles vacances reposantes!

Villégiature moderne et bien tenue. Super belle plage! De belles vagues, long à marcher des deux côtés (environ 4km ou plus d’un côté puis minimum 3km de l’autre). Villégiature où on se repose, vraiment (lecture, exercices, beauté de la végétation,...). Super bon service partout, bel atmosphère, détente assurée. Fortement recommandée.

Where is the "wow"?

I've done some extensive travelling, and I consider myself to be a very easy-going, take-the-good-with-the-bad kind of person. This resort is the first time I've ever been unimpressed. First off, the positives - the grounds (especially the pool area) are gorgeous and very clean. The beach is stunning (although sand fleas are common). And for me...that's about it. Upon entering our room, my first impression was...blah. It's clean, which is great, and had a lovely view of the pool, but honestly, [... read more] it was a very boring design. Just...blah. White walls, no paintings, wooden furniture, and that was about it. The food is horrendous. There are 3 restaurants on site, in addition to the buffet, and we tried 2 of them as I'm not a seafood lover. We left one of the restaurants after waiting an hour for watery, overcooked and unflavourful pasta, and just went to the buffet. The fusion restaurant is decent, but not good. The filet on the menu was possibly the most vile thing I've tried to eat. It seemed more like a super fatty and tough burger patty - I could barely cut it; the table next to us was shocked as well. The people seemed generally unhappy to be there. The beach bartenders were fantastic, and had great personalities, but most of the buffet staff were uninterested in helping. As an example, my friend ordered a cappuccino, to which the server replied, "Really? Are you sure you don't want a regular coffee?" We did always tip, but by the end of the week we were tipping specific servers rather than leaving the bills on our table. And finally...our excursion. We booked a private excursion with Joana (spelling?). The night before, we came to cancel since I was feeling quite ill - with the intention of re-booking (remember, it was a private excursion, so no other guests would be put out). Nobody was at the desk. My friend went down to cancel the next morning, but again, nobody was at the desk. Around noon, we approached Joana to both apologize and re-book, but were met with extreme condescension and rudeness - shaking her head at us, telling us how rude we were for making the taxi wait, etc. I felt like we were being treated like children. She did not offer any condolences ("how are you feeling?" etc) or the opportunity to re-book. So, we didn't go on an excursion at all. Such a disappointment. So, do I recommend this hotel? A resounding NO. Never. Go somewhere else. I just feel like...just be kind to people, you know? Be kind. This hotel...not kind. Avoid.

Good resort

The resort is nice and kept very clean. A great beach to take long walks. The food is fairly good at the buffet but i cannot say that about the seafood a la carte. The rooms were basic but efficient but the drawers and shelves all had a strong musty smell. The last three days of vacation our room had a strong smell of sewer which was very unpleasent! Staff were all pleasant and helpful.

Simply stunning

This resort was hands down my favourite resort we have been to yet. The staff were pleasant and always helpful, the scenery was impeccable, the pools and beach were well maintained and beautiful. The food was amazing especially the fresh fire roasted pizza. We will be returning. I have not one negative thing to say about this resort. We came home over fed, relaxed and ready to take on reality.

Absolutely fantastic!

Great hotel excellent service, friendly staff. Entertainment is OK but we were there for the sun, sand and surf. Quiet but fun. Long Beach where you can walk forever in each direction. Fantastic food!

Great resort!

Small enough resort that there was no waiting in lines. Large enough to have good options for food. Staff was fantastic, especially Luz, Jennifer, Louis and Yucuiry. Had a great time. Beach was great! Kayaks, boogie boards in great shape. Food was good. Lots of options for mixed drinks. Endless supply of Presidente beer. Quiet by the pool, activities a plenty, but not pushed on you. All in all great place for the DR. Excursions available, but nothing is pushed.

Very Zen Resort!

Very clean everywhere & well maintained; rooms, restaurants, toilettes, sidewalks , grounds, pool & beach! Relaxing resort; soft, music at the pool / no loud music at the beach. We always choose an all-inclusive / adults only resorts the week between X-Mas & New Years so we have a great party to attend! This one was no different; it was a great party! Great food; langouste / filet mignon & much much more at no extra cost. Points to improve; staff at lobby should be more knowledgeable /aware of what's happening in their resort. ie: New Year's Eve party - on the 30th NO Lobby Staff knew what kind of party it was going to be, where, how , start of festivities.....Finally on the morning of the 31st they put up a board with menus ...but that's it....huuummm! asked for activities & if the TV/Screen wasn't working no one knew or had the info ...you finally figure it out if you happen to pass by - good thing this resort isn't big! Aside from Lobby staff in need of being more in tuned with their facilities, everyone was pleasant, polite and respectful with smiles! p.s. I would recommend the Person in charge of room cleaning take time to check their staff work. EVERY DAY in our room either a glass was missing on dirty! if you have a coffee machine, it needs coffee & not 2 cups & 1 saucer ??? sometimes we had 1 face*towel & sometimes none. We asked for the patio screen to be fix 3 times - each time they came right away to fix it BUT never check what happens when you open the glass door!.......it didn't fit! and last, the cleaning lady NEVER broomed the patio - she would place the couch pillows but nothing else.... Doesn't need much for this resort to become a 5 star ! simply better follow-up with staff!

Beautiful resort

The grounds maintained very well.The rooms are clean and spacious.The food was good for me,but not all restorants was open every day.The front desk was very good to me ,everything I asked they got for me even Soya milk,which was very important for me and I am very grateful to them.Thank You amigos!The people that work in this resort very friendly and helpful.
