Beautiful resort!

The property is spacious and spectacular. Excellent walkways and boardwalks, all well maintained. Shuttles appeared regularly and seemed to be quick - we only used it once during our walk to dinner as it started raining heavily. We love to walk and enjoyed every minute of that. The pools were fresh and super clean. The poolside food trucks delivered delicious Mexican foods all afternoon. The main pool was quite busy but it always seemed there were a few vacant lounges. It was too loud for us [... read more] so we enjoyed the Golden pool - lazy river pool - where the music was quiet jazz. Delicious drinks and food from the golden bar. Prompt friendly service everywhere. Beautiful sand on the beach, but either end of the resort was rocky. Beach walking seemed to go on well down the beach but we didn’t need to venture far. All restaurants provide excellent food, all bars provide excellent drinks - just ask for higher end alcohol or they will default to the cheap stuff. Used room service twice for breakfast - timely but the coffee is dicey. Even the Sisal coffee shop didn’t impress, but the do have a huge assortment of choices. The silver king room was fresh and nicely cleaned everyday - always a slight Caribbean musty smell even though recently renovated. Beautiful big balcony in building 2, but we faced into the resort. Green and jungly view, but the afternoon music from the main pool was offensive enough that we didn’t enjoy sitting out, so we kept to the golden pool or the beach. This resort is an easy half hour direct from the airport. The air transat shuttle was the only downside as we arrived at the shuttle location at 9:15 but between waiting for the shuttle and dropping others off first, we didn’t check in at our hotel til 11:15. All dining tables were well spaced, entrance signs at all restaurants warned to keep space between people, and some of the staff wore masks. All buildings are very open air and it was breezy so we were not concerned about covidguildines.

Great resort

This is the 3rd time we've come to the Valentin, we really like this resort. Grounds are well kept, and it's great they are adding new things, last time we were here was in 2018, the coffee house and the food trucks are new since then, they are a great add, The internet was a bit spotty, one of our friends kept loosing connection throughout the day, which is an issue since you need to access it for our phones for the restaurant menus. Food was excellent as always, but it would be nice i [... read more]f we could make reservations, instead of walk in. Grounds and rooms were very clean, and well kept. There was maid service through the day where the room was restocked and during turndown at night, the room was straighten up and towels were replenished. All staff, front desk, restaurant, bar, pool service were very polite and courteous, could not ask for more!

A Dream Honeymoon

My husband and I had our perfect honeymoon at Valentin Imperial. We stayed for 10 days and had the time of our lives. We also played so much pool at the Sports Bar and beach volleyball every day, it was the best. Our favourite entertainment was The Imperial Band with a full line up of mesmerizing musicians who were so talented, energetic and entertaining - we danced our nights away to their live music. After years of restricted travel and the fear that came from enduring the Covid19 pandemic, Valentin Imperial made us feel welcome to enjoy ourselves with their conscientious and attention to safety. We are so grateful we chose Valentin Imperial for our honeymoon and eagerly look forward to the next time we can come back and visit!! Disclaimer to those reading this trying to decide where to go: James and I are Canadians and had the best time here. The service was next level kind, and our cheeks hurt from smiling all day every day. The chefs made INCREDIBLE food and the variety was awesome - so much authentic Mexican cuisine and everything tasted so delicious; drinks were plentiful and delicious also! Everything around the resort is very close in proximity to each other and it’s quite easy to learn the layout of the resort; however, you will be doing a fair bit of walking to and from. The beach is sooo long and beautiful, you’ll have no issue finding a spot. There is a portion of the ocean sectioned off for swimming which is good because that part is all sandbars. Ocean swimming has a gradual decline but doesn’t drop off or get deep right away; waves were plentiful and awesome!

Excellent resort!

We loved the resort. The food is incredible. The service is outstanding. The public areas and rooms are very clean. Honestly we have nothing negative to say about the resort. It is perfect. It feels like the resort was dropped in a jungle, we love that there is a lot of exotic animals and a lot of palm trees. The only thing is to lookout for the seaweed season, as it can be quite deceiving for people wanting beach days. But that is mother nature and it is not VIM's fault. Amazing Quiet Resort very relaxing

This hotel offered great service from the moment we arrived to check in till the time we left. I think by far the best service yet. Pool staff were friendly, great service at the restaurants, maid service and shuttle service. Always smiling and happy to accommodate you. If you are looking for an adults only more quiet mature crowd then this is the place.

Still Beautiful

This is a stunning resort. We have been here 4 times. The grounds are lush and beautiful. Pools are huge and very clean. Beach is beautiful and you can walk for ages. Dining is varied and for the most part tasty. The coffee shop is a nice. Staff are very welcoming.

Still one of the best resorts

Grounds are simply amazing. All the people that work on this resort are fantastic. Stayed in the golden rooms, great view of the golden pool. No need to go any where as you can all you need around the pool.

Beautiful Resort!

We visited the Valentine Imperial Maya a week ago. We had a wonderful time and the covid precautions taken were very good. Basically you had to wear masks within restaurants until you were seated or in main lobby areas. And the food was very good. There is a buffet for breakfast and lunch some items are served on little plates that you can help yourself to and other items are served out by the kitchen staff. There was also a steakhouse at the restaurant by the beach which serves as in all the cart during the day for breakfast and lunch. The food carts or should I say food trucks poolside were amazing. The beef tacos are a must try. There is also an amazing coffee shop that has all kinds of drinks hot cold frozen also have really delicious ice cream. This is open most of the day and the best part is room service is 24 hour so there's quite a variety of a menu for that. Don't forget to try the churro cart in the Courtyard area by the restaurants in the evening. Entertainment was great everybody was Is super friendly. Very safe resort and we did not feel uncomfortable once and I would highly recommend it.

Beyond a five star

Exquisite food, wonderful hotel employees, and two amazing pools made our stay at this adults-only resort an absolute dream. The resort is incredibly clean, with no shortage of things to do and no skimping on food or drinks. We would definitely return. We would also highly recommend the Rio Secreto as a side trip. It was mind-blowing!

Amazing resort

We have been at this resort ten times. Each visit was amazing. This visit “ during Covid “ was also amazing and we felt very safe during our stay. There were many changes because of Covid but they were for our protection. The worst part of our vacation was the airports.

Third Visit to this Resort

This is the third time we have visited this resort, the rooms, the service, the food was as always was VERY GOOD! The Covid protocol was excellent, all hotel staff were double masked with a face mask and a plastic face shield and were all very cognizant of being fully protected. The rooms were constantly being cleaned and looked after by the resort staff. Some of the directions from the travel agency were not required, so that is something that trip central should review. Unfortunately, my w [... read more]ife tested positive on the three day testing and we had to delay our flight and extend our room for an additional ten days. THE RESORT PUT US IN QUARANTINE FOR THAT 10 DAY PERIOD AT NO CHARGE TO US, and we were allowed to use room service for that entire period. We could not thank them enough for allowing us to stay!

Beautiful Resort

Very beautiful resort. Great beaches with soft sand and warm water, with fish swimming all around. Nice huts and lounge chairs on the beach. Great party pool and nice quiet lazy river pool area. Drinks at the piano bar were amazing. Food was really good. Loved the new coffee and dessert bar. Grounds are beautiful being very lush and forest like. Good nightly entertainment with piano bar and house band for dancing. Service was great. Never had an issue finding someone to answer questi [... read more]ons or manage needs. Covid test was easily scheduled at the hotel and completed on site with no issues. Our second time at this resort and we were very pleased.

Still set a high standard

pros - grounds and beach are beautiful - staff is top notch - room was modern, comfortable with daily cleaning thorough and efficient - essentially no reservations in al la carte restaurants cons - mixed drinks seemed a little watered down from what we remember

Great Resort

Resort met all our needs ,,, great beach, clean pool, great food and good service. Lobby staff and concierge were especially helpful. One negative lack of hooks, cabinet or some kind of shelf to place toiletries in the bathroom. This is a problem at most hotels. Also, likely due to COVID rules, foods are individually proportioned which tends to allow some food items to lose freshness more quickly since they dry out easily.

Valentin

Such a great resort! Beautiful grounds and very friendly people! Beach is the best! Only thing is they raised price of exclusive per person and disappointed about that! Also due to excessive paperwork upon arrival took a very long time to check in!

A very relaxing vacation at Valentin Imperial

I am satisfied with the meals (different restaurants and breakfast buffet), the room, the beach, the pool, and staffs’ service. I enjoyed my vacation and it was a very good experience to stay in this resort.

Will go back

We enjoyed our fifth stay at Valetin. Would recommend it to all. Friendly staff, good food and beautiful grounds made for an excellent stay. We will be celebrating 25 years of marriage next year at this establishment.

Such a beautiful place

We loved this resort, it was very clean and well kept the staff was super nice and was always there to help. The food was amazing. The rooms were clean and well kept, housekeeping was quick and efficient. The one thing we didn't like was that there were not enough pool lounge chairs at the main pool for the amount of people, and sitting behind a hedge not being able to see the pool we didn't like either. Other than that it was fabulous.

Incredible resort

Spectacular resort. An adults only must. A lush tropical paradise. Staffed by people that care for your every need. Something to see, do and experience from sunrise to the wee hours of the next morning. You make of it it what you want, but it offers you the vacation experience you want.
