this was our 4th time to this resort and we were there to celebrate my husbands birthday. The CoVID protocols in place made us very comfortable. Masks were worn for employees in every area serving food and any other service areas. There was also Masks were also required for guests to enter the store and buffet, the a la carte restaurants masks weren't required. The service was fabulous. Our only disappointment was the housekeeping wasn't the best, coffee cups and glasses not washed, the beverage[... read more] fridge was not refilled daily and we had to request the water jugs several time to be refreshed. the beach was covered with the spargassum but the employees were working endlessly trying to haul it away, unfortunately the beach area was totally not swimmable. the pools and lazy river was so much fun! we thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week vacation.

Nice resort
Rooms were very nice, best bed yet! Third floor room very quiet. Food was good at the various reserved restaurants. Not a fan of the buffet, a lot of guests chose to not wait in lines. Hit and miss regarding using gloves and masks at the buffet. Children and young people sticking their hands into food i.e. nacho chips. Lots of wildlife including Monkeys which are very entertaining. Helpful staff, our initial room had a bunch of water on the floor, our luggage driver immediately got us an[... read more]other room. Pools are good, however lounge chairs difficult to get unless you reserve a chair before 7 in the morning. Beach area nice, sometimes affected by seaweed, staff constantly working to keep seaweed down. Fairly large resort, lots of walking. Entertainment centre best set-up I’ve seen, entertainment itself average. Various other entertainment in bars, good. Good bar service around the pools, staff constantly on the go.

Amazing resort!
Grand Sirenis is absolutely beautiful! The grounds and wildlife really make the trip that much better. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming, they go out of their way to make your day. There is a very large variety of food at every buffet that everyone will find something they like. The shows are beautiful and the performances are top notch. The pools are kept very clean and the swim up bars are easy to order from. The lines are never too long at any of the bars as the staff are very effic[... read more]ient. Lastly, I'd definitely recommend trying the Spa, we had a couples massage and enjoyed some relaxing time in their saunas and hot tubs.

Our week stay in Grand Sirenis resort was very good !
The rooms in this hotel are very spacious and comfortable. We've got everything in our room we had asked for and we especially thank for that Tripcentral travel agent Karol Chareza.
We enjoyed the beach very much. It was very clean although resort personnel was constantly fighting seaweed battle. The resort beach area is surrounded by big rocks which allows to swim and snorkel every day despite big ocean waves.
The food was amazing and in big variety. Overall our vacation was great.

Loved this resort!
The Grand Sirenis is a huge property that provides multiple areas for relaxation or fun! Lush vegetation provides a natural habitat for many animals which we loved! A beautiful natural cove at the beach provides shelter on rough days and snorkelling off the beach! Multiple restaurants and several concierge’s to assist with bookings or to answer questions.A whole variety of activities day and night! Many bar tenders and servers keep you well hydrated.
All staff wore masks indoors and outdoors[... read more] and hand sanitizer was available. It’s the other guests who don’t always respect the rules but they can’t control that.
If you love music and dancing hopefully they will have the silent DJ one night, it is an absolute blast!!
We would go back tomorrow if we could!

Visit #6 for me!
I love this hotel. Staffing was short due to pandemic but they still did a great job all around. Masking at the bars and in the buffet still in place. The only negative I have about Sirenis is they do not appreciate their repeat guests in any way. Too focussed on their members to care about anyone else.

Great resort with amazing staff
Wonderful resort with amazing staff and service. We first visited the resort a out 15 years ago and loved it even more this time around (we took our two teenage sons , who also really enjoyed Sirenis), they enjoyed the disco and the many bars and lounge areas. The Japanese dinner was a highlight of our trip. Checo was our concierge and he went out of his way to make out trip fantistic (as did all the Grand Sirenis staff).

Awesome! Great value!!
We were looking for an inexpensive second winter getaway, so we choose Grand Serenis as it was half the price of what we usually pay. We were not sure what to expect but as it turned out we were very pleased. The staff was great, the resort was huge and well looked after. The rooms were typical of any resort and had no issues. The alcohol was a bit watered down but that was fine as the pool and beach bar servers kept the drinks topped up. The buffet was what to be expected (average) but the ala [... read more]carts were quite good except for the steak house. The steaks were very tough. The mixed grill at the steak house was much better than the T bone. Three ala carts were included with a 7-day stay, but we were told if we show up at the restaurant at the time of seating we may get in. This worked for us twice so we had 5 ala carts. The only thing that we didn't enjoy was the bus ride from the airport, it was quite long and we had to make several stops at other resorts. We touched down at the airport at 2:30 and did not get checked in until 6:45. This made for a long day. But, once there we enjoyed our 7-day stay!

Slightly disappointed
For the most part the resort is kept clean and tidy. The room was spacious with everything needed for the week. We did have issues with maintenance, the bathroom sink was plugged all week and we asked multiple times to have it looked at. The door lock was not working, and we ended up having to stay in the room until fixed.
We did have money taken from the room, although it was a small amount. It did make us feel uneasy about the safety of our personal items.
The 2nd day we left the do no[... read more]t disturb sign on the door, but they went in to clean anyway. Then there were 3 days with no cleaners at all.
We found the staff in the a la carts to be rude (surprising to us as everyone else was fantastic) The food in the a la carts was cold and not great. We preferred the buffet. Although the food in the buffet was not incredible, we never went hungry, there was a lot to chose from.
The pool and beach were lovely.
For those who like to go off resort and see what the town has to offer, note the distance and cost to take a Taxi is a bit expensive.

Amazing Resort for the price
In general I was very pleased with Grand Sirenis Resort, beautiful place to stay and we had great time. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I loved how you came up with those different vibes for different swimming pools. Though, I am mainly a beach lover, I can definitely appreciate that the pool lovers could find their own choice how to relax. This was my 1st time observation in any hotel and you nail it..
I loved our room, very clean and spacious, absolutely loved it. I also loved the [... read more]fact that there was a little fridge and it was refilled daily. Though I opted not to clean my room, the cleaning stuff was really nice, they were very accommodating, changing the towels when needed, I was very pleased
I loved the lazy river, what a great option, we absolutely loved it!!! One thing though, some guests forgot how to act and share and they would remove the tubes from the lazy river and took it with them. I mentioned it to some of those people that the tubes have clear sign that they belong to the lazy river only. I think the pool staff and staff on the beach should pay more attention to that and ask to return those tubes to lazy river
I loved your gourmet coffee shop, however almost all the time there was a huge line up there. I would suggest adding more staff there, as the line was always moving very slow, or perhaps creating another coffee place. Adding more staff would definitely help.
I loved the little restaurant on the beach serving lunch. It was great to get the food without having to change the clothes and go to the buffet for lunch. The ladies serving drinks on the beach were priceless. And they were absolutely super pleasant. love them.
I loved the fact that you have a lot a la cart restaurant, but I was actually disappointed with the quality of food served there. Not at all better than in the buffet, that was a huge surprise. especially with the Mexican restaurant that should be a proudly representing local food. It was not even close what I was able to taste in the past at the real local restaurants, that was disappointing.
Checking inn, though the staff was very pleasant, took waaaay too long. After a long trip, I was not happy with almost 40 minutes wait to check inn
On the other note, I loved the fact that you had those concierge desks in few locations, that was extremely helpful on a daily basis, especially with the big size of the resort.
One more thing I was a bit disappointed was the money exchange issue. It was not uncommon that there was no pesos available for the exchange, and usually there was lack of small bills. It took me four trips to kind of get what I needed. Still not what I wanted. This should not happen in 5 star resort, very inconvenient
Over all, I was happy with my holiday, I would come back and recommend it to my friends.
I also loved my tripcentral agent Nicole. She was extremely helpful and absolutely great to deal with

Amazing Girls Trip
Grand Sirenis is quite Grand. Amazing service from the staff. Al Cart restaurants are a added bonus. On site Covid testing which is convenient. I loved that they had a Concierge in every area of the resort to assist with anything. Thank you Diego & Ice. Also the stellar housekeepers and wait staff. Overall would give this resort a solid 8/10!!! Thanks to heather and the Sunwing team for providing great package and stellar customer service!

Enjoyable Resort
This is neither a pro or a con but it is approx. an hour and a half bus ride to the resort although, as we arrived during rush hour and took an hour and 45 minutes.
In regards to Covid protocols, all the staff wore masks at all times, both indoors and on the beach. If you forgot your mask one was provided at every venue and you were also provided a plastic glove at the entrance to the Buffet and Beach Restaurants.
The Resort
This is a very large resort comprising 2 resorts rolled into one[... read more]. The largest part is the Riviera and the other section is the Mayan. Overall it is a lovely resort with an abundance of natural foliage and very small areas of manicured landscaping. You have the feeling of being in the jungle. There are very few shortcuts and you really have to stay on the walkways. There is a lot of walking involved in getting around this resort. This resort is very handicap aware and we found quite a few quests getting around on motorized wheelchairs. As an observation, getting to the water at the beach might pose a problem as the sand area is in 2 tiers but the pools are lovely and there are 3 available to use.
Rooms
Pros: large, well laid out, beautiful decor. Bathroom is also gorgeous. Waterfall shower is unbelievable and the water pressure and hot water are great! Beds are comfy. Plenty of seating and sleeping room. There is also a built-in desk for your laptop. The rooms also have a 45 inch flat screen tv with lots of channels. They like soccer in Mexico so you can always catch a game from most of the mainstream leagues.
Cons:
The rooms have a long built-in shelf under the tv which is nice for holding small stuff but there are no dresser drawers so you have to use your suitcase to hold things like t-shirts and underwear. You will also have to bring a face cloth (flannel for you Brits). I know Guest Services says they are supposed to be in every room but Housekeeping says not so. It’s hit or miss as to whether or not you get any. This is an observation only but the bathroom doors with the exception of the main door shut completely or lock, which makes getting ready a little more difficult when you're staying with children, or people other than your spouse. The shower doors also have a gap, which can make a mess if you aren't paying attention.
Food
Pros: between the buffets, snack bars, a la carts, room service and pizzas, you won't go hungry. You can always get pizza or burgers and fries for the pickiest eaters. There is a lot of variety. Breakfast for buffet, pizzas or beach snack bar for lunch are always a win.
Breakfast Buffet, if you want waffles you will have to get your server to get them if you are in the buffet before 8 am. The omelets are good, just made differently than in Cuba. Here they ladle the egg mixture onto the grill and saute the vegetable fixings separately. They then add the fixings onto the cooked egg and then roll it up to serve you. Of note are the smoothies, the green one was fabulous and I had one every morning, At all the buffet sittings you will find a wide variety of appetisers. We didn’t use the buffet for lunch as we elected to stay on the beach and used the beach restaurant. You could get a large assortment of items ranging from pork chops, grilled vegetables, stewed tomatoes (delicious), to hamburgers (very good patties), hotdogs, a full range of salad items, fresh fruit, and tortilla chips with chili sauce, cheese sauce and refried beans. The dinner buffet was similar to the breakfast buffet with a large assortment of appetisers and then a large assortment of entray items. You could also get something freshly grilled from pork chops, chicken and once or twice fresh fish. I should mention the desserts are extremely good, cakes are moist, rice pudding of a very high quality. The chocolate ice cream was the best I’ve ever eaten. There are lots to choose from so you can always find something you like to eat. They don’t use alot of spices so you might find the food under seasoned and not really hot, just mildly warm. You won't starve, but don't expect to be saying the food is great all the time. It's good and edible. Some things are hit and miss.
Con for me is that there is very little in the way of fresh grilled fish either in the Beach Restaurant or the Buffet.
The Restaurants
We got to eat in all except the French Restaurant as it’s for members only. My ratings are as follows:
The Japanese was by far the best. The chefs were skillful and very entertaining in their presentation. I had the octopus. Fantastic.
The Mexican I had a dish native to the area, it was roast pork and the flavours, omg.
The Mediterranean, both of us had the seafood platter, featuring a full squid (calamari), mussels, shrimp, clams, a fillet of fish and an oyster in a sauce. One serving would have fed us both and still had left overs.
The Steakhouse
My partner had the T-bone steak and it was cooked perfectly to a delightful medium rare with the medium slanted to the rare. I had the beef rib which was tough and dry. They are getting better at cooking beef but they have a long way to go.
The Italian was good, I had the lasagna, it was very meaty and I elected not to have the soup as it was just too much food for me. My partner had the ravioli and really liked it.
The Brazilian restaurant was good but it's a lot of meat. You get chicken wings, then 2 different sausages, chicken breast, beef tenderloin, pork tenderloin, brazilian beef, and cooked pineapple. It was too bad that they over cooked the brazilian beef as it is known to be some of the best beef in the world.
The Thia
This was the worst meal I had at the resort, Simply awful. My partner had the fish dish which he liked so not everything on the menu is bad.
Beach
Pros: water is nice. Beautiful view. Nice location. Snorkeling was ok, but to be fair I believe there were storms at sea most of the second week which made it a little hazy, but def had a good time when we went.
Cons: I reserved our beach chairs and umbrella each morning by getting to the beach at 6 am and usually by 6:45 all the lounges were reserved. Of note, I saw a lot of sunrises. They need more chairs for the beach. There's just not enough to accommodate the crowd they have even by half or less.
Pools/games
Pros: pools are large and well taken care of. They had multiple games during the day and entertainment. Animation team organized lots of beach volleyball and the ball was always available for anyone who wanted to organize a game.
Bars
Pros: The drinks are strong and the service is great. The bartenders and waitresses will NEVER let your drink go empty, even on the busiest of nights. That also includes the beach service. My favourite place in the evening was the patio in front of the Coffee Shop, great coffee, live entertainment and you can smoke your cigar. It was lovely.
Cons: Not every bar made good mixed drinks, Lobby bar was the best. I asked for a gin and tonic in the Sky Bar and it was made with sprite, not nice. As I’m not much for a mixed drink I was disappointed in the alcohol that was available. If I stay there again, I will bring a bottle of my preferred beverage and bring a flash to the bar.
Entertainment,There is a large theatre, it has many tiers so it will accommodate a large number of people. There is a show every night on a 7 day rotation. I only watched the Rock show which I enjoyed. Starting at 7:30 there is a singer or small duet at the coffee shop stage, at 9 is the theater show and then at 10 there is some entertainment in the Sky Bar.There is usually some entertainment in the Lobby Bar. The other night it was a sax player.
Overall the staff is impeccable. The grounds have for the most part been left in it’s natural state, the wildlife is fantastic. There isn’t anything that would make me say don’t at least try this place out and decide for yourself. The minute complaints I have can be out weighted by all the positives. We would more than likely return if our travel companions wanted to go to this resort and I would anticipate anyone else who tries it would also.

Love Sirenis
There were some staffing challenges with the pandemic but staff are doing their best.
I did not feel secure that the room was properly disinfected as there was packing tape stuck on walls and doors, appearing like a previous guest had decorated. Since it was not removed I could not feel secure they were thoroughly cleaning. Their housekeeping carts were not stocked with the items they would need for proper disinfection of rooms.
The use of a glove for the buffet is not a great way to lower t[... read more]ransmission as people reuse the same glove after they have touched the outside of it or didn’t use it properly. Having someone police the hand hygiene at the start of buffet would be more effective.
COVID test was easy to book and results were timely.
Airport departure was very delayed. Seemed like most travellers were not prepared with all the health information.
A la cartes were hard to book. Likely due to staff shortages.
I will still return to this resort as I do love it and understand this is a challenging time to maneuver. This was my 5th trip there.

Has gone down since last year
Silly mask wearing rules. You can be in open lobby with no mask but one server at bar says wear it when others do not care at all. At outside bbq by beach wear a mask. Also Friday and Saturday full of locals and there was a fist fight in the lobby saturday night. Classy.. I guess the Karens of the worlds quack the most and they listened.
I get it that they need to make some revenue during these times.
However the resort is still nice and the staff are great.

OMG.. the Charm!
Funny, always said I would never go to the same place twice! This place had me at "lazy river" take it past that there was so many things to see and do! Although the resort was big it never felt like I was lost. Easy to navigate, there were trolleys to pick you up if needed, food was good and lots of selection. The a la carte restaurants for the most part were very good with kudos especially to the Japanese for their wonderful talent show and great food, to the Mediterranean..please have the tun[... read more]a steak...OMG! so delicious. The entertainment was awesome which was wonderful, lots of talent there. All the workers always had a" hola" and a smile. The beach was interesting with the ability to snorkel, see the Mayan ruin and the rock formations were stunning! Not my usual kind of beach however, I was intrigued and loved the charm of it all! Was great just to lay on a hammock suspended between trees and read. Lots of wildlife to see, from the Caoti's, the Sereque, racoons, spider monkeys in the trees, turtles by the theater, dolphin show at no charge, don't forget the iguanas and the fish in the ocean. The beautiful birds if you are watching and the Cats from the "Cat Lounge". I am sure I missed something as so much to see. Lets not forget the room, beautifully appointed and very clean. Loved, loved the rain shower, shower! Jacuzzi tub was great also. Lots of space in the closet and hangers yes hangers! Spent many a nice quiet time just before dinner on our balcony also. The grounds were beautifully kept and the pools are very clean with lots of chairs to go around for everyone!. The drinks were great especially when you doubled up on the rum, vodka and or tequila (to kill ya) aptly named, lol. I hurt myself the second day and ended up on crutches for the rest of the week. Dr. Eric Morales was wonderful with me, patient and help to assuage my fears of having any medical services to be provided in a different country! I was well taken care of and the reception made sure to check up on me the following day and let me know anything I needed they would be sure to be there to help. All in all it was a wonderful fun filled week regardless of my injury and I have and would recommend this resort to friends and family! Thanks Grand Sirenis for a wonderful vacation...Hola Rhonda Morris

Grand SIrenis Riviera Maya
Great resort with clean large rooms. Lots of great activities as well as amazing nature and wildlife. The beach and pool close to the beach are pleasantly quiet. Lots of walking because it's a huge resort.
Avoid the high pressure sales reps at the desks in each building who want passports and credit cards and time for their sales pitch. Spa is overpriced. Arrival was disorganized and time wasting because the transportation stopped at too many hotels. Similarly departure was disorganized. We[... read more] had waited for the hotel to transport our luggage to the lobby for the departure, but ended up carrying it ourselves because it would not have arrived in time for us to leave.

Had Fun!
Cons: - total pain getting a room. the first one they gave us came with two double beds - we are a couple, we just want one bed. We were told they would move us and told to come back 3 hours later, when we did, someone had given away our room. So we stayed with the two doubles and then switched finally the next day. Third time's a charm.
-Greeting desk is awful. Not very friendly, when we left they were like ' have a nice day' - no questions about the stay or anything that would make you want[... read more] to come back. Like they didn't really appreciate the business.
-Came for the third time, but no acknowledgement of that. Except for trying to get us to go to the sales presentation again. Otherwise, could care less about repeat business.
-Parents just let their kids run wild. Jumping in an out of the lazy river - super annoying but not the fault of the resort.
-Place is huge, lots of walking - but not really a con
Pros
-Staff (other than front desk) were awesome. Beach staff were incredibly awesome. Tolerate a lot of annoying holidayers!
-Food was awesome. The chicken wings on the beach are the best things we've ever eaten. Japanese and Brazilian a al carts were fantastic.
-relatively clean
-Landscaping was beautiful
-beaches were beautiful
-Nighttime theatre entertainment was excellent. So good every night.
