Wouldn’t stay again.

We had stayed at this hotel two and a half years ago and it was pretty good. This time the food was absolutely horrible. Only the Asian a la carte was decent. The others were horrible. Steakhouse was barely edible. We wasted almost everything on the plate. Reservations are no longer needed however that means if you want to eat at an al a carte you need to go when they open at 6 pm. I saw mashed potatoes twice and never any shredded or different hash browns. Bacon was raw or so well done it broke when you went to pick it up. The talk on the plane home was how excited everyone was for normal food as the food was that bad. Rooms are old and outdated. Ours leaked the first night we arrived and it was a huge puddle in our foyer and all the way to our nightstand and it took us two hours to convince them to let us switch rooms. They new the upstairs was leaking yet still assigned us the room. They sent a lady up with a squeegee and towel. Then the maintenance guy. The staff are very friendly which was a plus. As well the grounds and pools are quite nice. A little dated as well but palm trees all over. It is a loud resort so expect pool parties if you wander towards that side of the hotel. We stayed in a quiet building so no issues. The bars and restaurants open late. Never when it says so expect to wait as they aren’t ready. Def would stay at the new Riu California next time and just use Santa Fe’s pools.

Amazing potential but cockroaches in building 7

We needed to change the building because in villa #7 are huge cockroaches and we found even in our bed. The pool guys are adding Clorox in the middle of the day when people are in pools. No security guys and often people are fighting. In 8 days I cut two fights and no security showed up. It’s the same food every day, no changings at all. You need to go find a table and ask to be cleaned so you can have your breakfast or lunch. The cleaners crew starts the day at 5am and they are very lou [... read more]d, no rest for you when you hear them talking and their wagon up and down. Even when you have no sign on the door to do your room, they are still knocking asking if you want cleaning. Very good resort for adult parties, lots of activities and sometimes kids club available.

Beautiful and fun!!

I loved the resort, super clean, rooms very comfortable and the food was excellent! Service was friendly and helpful. The pools were clean and water temperature was excellent! Very happy! Loved the pool parties and bars and entertainment

Fun Place To Stay

The staff were quite friendly. Good selection of food and alcohol. The beds were comfortable and the room spacious with a decent little balcony. Overall I'd recommend it to almost anyone. There are a few parties that go on in the evenings too so keep that in mind.

Good and the bad

well I had read a bunch of reviews before booking the good and the bad .. people were right that the place is beautiful and kept as clean as possible ..the pools were good there are some for every one and the water slide park was pretty cool.. check in was simple . The booze is cheap and gross gotta tip well and ask for some better stuff .. It is a party resort .. i would suggest for families to stay at the palace next door .. the food was absolutley nothing to brag about ..

Great View

This is huge property but very well maintained. All ages would enjoy this hotel. The food was some of the best I have had. The staff does their best to make your stay a great one. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Great time at Riu Santa Fe!

My boyfriend and I just came back from a 7 day stay at Riu Santa Fe and we had an amazing time. Check in was smooth and our room was beautiful, clean and up to date. The service at the resort was always good, staff was great. Everyone was always very attentive, helpful and polite. The themed pool parties were lots of fun! Entertainment made sure there was always something to do on the resort. The gym was always clean and it was quite spacious too, plenty of machines to chose from. My favourite p [... read more]art is the view this resort has on the beach area, it is absolutely stunning.. I would definitely go back. Also, the resort is less than a 10 minute drive to downtown.

Great resort and great location

This resort was absolutely gorgeous. Very well maintained and all staff was super friendly. Special shoutout to the entertainment team who does such an amazing job every single day. I would definitely go back and would 100% recommend.

Beautiful Resort

The hotel was beautiful. The resort was quite large so there was a fair amount of walking. The grounds were very well kept. The pools were very nice but looked a bit dirty at times, I think because they were always full of people. We were in building #7 with Oceanview, and it was fairly noisy with alot of partying going on. This was our 1`st time at a larger resort and would prefer smaller resorts. Great resort

The resort was amazing. Clean and staff were very courteous. Food was great. Fun fun fun. Excursions were good and our Sunwing rep. Was very helpful . I would recommend this resort to everyone . The beach was always clean. Drinks were very good. I will go again

AWESOME

This hotel had something for everyone. Adults only themed parties, splash pad for kids or relax on the beach. Food was fantastic and the a la cartes were excellent. 24 hour sports bar came in handy. Did one excursion which went very smooth. Felt safe downtown Cabos and San Jose. Met many fellow Canadians and wasn't surprised to hear that many people we met have come to this resort because its excellent.I know this was my first time here but it won't be my last.

Great party resort

Very clean grounds and public areas and washrooms.Staff very friendly and helpful.Food was good.Personly we found the the resort to noise for us, the resort is more geared for a younger crowd. Was disappointed that we had booked to a superior room and found it was to noisy. To change rooms we downgraded to get a quieter room, but was not refunded the $200.00 that I had to pay extra for the superior room..

Pretty resort, it lacking service.

We had a beautiful room and view. But the service at the pool bar was so slow, waiting up to 30 minutes for service. The al la carteswere lacking, slow and food was cold. The view from our room was perfect. The hotel was over crowded and there were not enough bartenders, waitresses for the amount of people at the resort. Lacking entertainment each night instead had karaoke. I have been to other RIUs and they were great. Will not be going back to this one.

Excellent fun time at the Riu Santa Fe

We had an excellent time at the Riu Santa Fe. The food was great! The breakfast buffets, lunch and all the dinners were excellent. We have no complaints about the food. Every Riu hotel is different. The gardens are amazing with a good variety of cactus, succulents, palm trees and other tropical plants. The gardens and grounds are well kept and very interesting. The pools are plentiful with choices of quiet pools, a pool with swim up bar and jacuzzis and lively pool areas. Notably the pool partie [... read more]s are very lively and so much fun! We are over 55 and had a great time at the pool parties. The entertainment is good with Mexican shows, a Micheal Jackson show, magic etc. The beach is clean but too rough for swimming, some folks walked to town via the beach, we didn't. It is a bit of a walk between buildings but far less than many other hotel complexes we have been in. The walk is worth the exploration of the grounds.The regular rooms are nice and the delux rooms are beautiful. We have absolutley no complaints. There is a beautiful view of Cabo San Lucas from the hotel and the distance from town or Walmart is with minutes by taxi or bus. We thoroughly enjoyed Cabo San Lucas and the Riu hotel. We would definatley go back to the Riu Santa Fe and hopefully bring a few friends to join us.

So disappointed

We have bragged about how wonderful the Rui Santa Fe in Los Cabos was for awhile now. Finally we were able to get our friends all together at the same time. (8 couples in our 50’s) The food once again was great. Service was amazing! But... they have now started letting teenagers come for 1/2 the price & wow! It’s absolutely crazy. And not in a good way. We make our own good times! But this was very disturbing to say the least. We felt that the place was totally out of control. Every day someone was injured, bodily functions were everywhere in front of everyone. We tried to stay out of the way as much as possible but that’s not what holidays are about. Sleep was disrupted every hour of every night with screaming of all kinds & doors slamming over & over. We were told that this is the way the resorts going to be from now on. We were so very embarrassed that we had brought our friends here. We have always tried to go to Rui resorts for once if not twice a year often for 2 weeks at a time. We have decided that this will no longer be the way to go and will try to find another chain. I’m very sorry. I will miss the fun times.

Nice Resort

The resort itself is well kept and is very clean. It has amazing views of the mountains and crystal clear waters. The food is just ok and so r the drinks. Nothing to write home about. Price point is a little high as it was $3000 a werk for a couple at the RIU Santa Fe. We happened to be at one of the US spring breaks so it was quite loud and disruptive at nights. Seems more of a party resort than a relaxation resort. Although i have to say staff were very friendly and were very accomodating. W [... read more]e took a water taxi to the marina in Cabo and that was nice. Went to Cabo Wabo and A few other places. Overall a 3+ rating given that the place was clean and terrific views and close to the marina in Cabo which has great restaurants and shops.

Beautiful...but a little busy

Grounds were clean ,rooms were clean, restaurants offered a lot of selections ,we went during spring breaker time and we found they were a little under staffed with long line ups for drinks and busy lunch and dinners other than that beautiful resort

Lovely resort

The resort is quite large, so there is lots of walking to the pools and restaurants. The food was only fair, serving the same buffet each day, and there were no true a la carte restaurants. Even the a la cartes were served buffet style and served most of the same items that were at the buffet. We were also there during the US March break, which made for a lot of noise at night, lots of drunk teenagers who crowded the pools and bars. Planes are too small and crowded, always late, ran out of food on the flight to Mexico, and poor service on board.

Great Stay!!

We were suppose to stay at the Riu Santa Fe for 11 days but upon arrival they told us that we had been upgraded to the new Riu Palace Baja California that is directly next door. This gave us access to all 3 Riu resorts here. We did spend a fair amount of time at the Santa Fe. Its is an all ages resort so it will appeal to more people in the younger age groups. The grounds are very well kept and the food at both buffet and a la cartes is very good. Be aware that since its an all ages resort, it c [... read more]an get quite loud some nights when they are having the night time pool parties. The first week were were there it was quiet for the most part. But the second week became spring break. That is when things started to get get loud and out of control. Made us happy that we had gotten the upgrade. Aside from the second week that we were there the Santa Fe was an enjoyable resort to be at.

Lively resort

Everything was good. The only change I would make would be not to go there in March as it is spring break and quite noisy and not relaxing. The food was good and lots of it. The amenities was good. The location is priceless with the view and close to town. The service was excellent from staff and very polite.
