Great resort!!

Loved this resort. Food was amazing, the resort was beautiful and cleanly, always good entertainment, and respectful staff. I would go here again! Highly recommend this resort for couples, families and friends.

Highly recommend

This was a fantastic resort. Food was phenomenal, beach was beautiful and the pools were stunning. Resort was very clean and the animation staff had some super rad activities organized for the day. They know how to entertain the guests and make them laugh. All staff were great. Highly recommend this resort to anyone interest in travelling to the Mayan riviera. I am not usually the type to return to a resort twice however I will certainly be going to this one!

Incredible and resort on

First time in Rivera Maya Great food, clean rooms, helpful and professional staff, fun events, restaurants galore. There’s not really a reason to leave one you arrive on property though the staff with help arrange excursions too . Love the swim-up bar - frozen margaritas while floating in one of the many pools. Love the steakhouse and Italian restaurants both - fantastic food. Entertainment every night - acrobatics, music, circus. Fun activities all throughout the day. Would def come again!

Had a good time - travlled with family

This resport was huge and we've stayed at many big reports before. First time in Mexico and travelled with 2 kids and parents. Beach was great compared to neighbours and many many pools. Rooms are sizable, beds kind of hard. Lots of restaurants, buffets and food was good, nothing to rave about. Lots of selection. Great drinks all day and good coffee. The service was impeccable.

Nice

Front desk staff can’t get there things right. Arrived at 330Pm and didn’t get room till almost 730pm. They gave us a room that was already occupied by another couple and walked in on them so had to go back to get a unoccupied room and that took forever. Other than that the resort is nice and people are really friendly, food was good, drinks are plentiful and great rooms.

Average resort that could have been incredible

This resort needs a little refreshing and minor touchups including paint and small repairs. It had a great layout with soooo many pools and swimup bars! The lush landscape with walkways surrounded by mature palm trees was beautiful. A little more garden work/clean up would make it absolutely incredible though. There were alot of dead palm branches hanging precariously overhead and many tree limbs and branches on walkways and all over the grounds every morning. We were fortunate enough to have a swim out room (with an awesome maid Ana Maria!) but because it was on the Grand Sunset side and in February, the water was quite cold because it didn't get much sun. This would be an asset in April though I imagine! Another unfortunate thing was that there weren't a lot of shade choices around any of the sunny parts of the pools. The shaded areas had gazebos but there were practically none in the sunny areas and no umbrellas anywhere. The beach was incredible really, lots of opportunity to walk in either direction and only a few timeshare guys. The gym was one of the best I've ever used, with lots of classes to choose from every day. The evenings were very disappointing for couples, no music anywhere, no one singing, no evening entertainment at all really. There were family shows each night that some people we met really enjoyed. Lastly, the food....who could ever complain? There were lots of choices at the buffetts at every meal and great service at each setting. We only did one a la carte and it wasn't good at all but we have always preferred the buffets anyway. Overall, this resort was good value for the money but was only average in terms of it's condition, cleanliness and below average for entertainment.

Started on the wrong foot but....

My friend and I visited the hotel for a 4 days getaway, literally all we could spare away from our busy lives. We Arrived at the hotel around 1 PM and of course our room wasn’t ready which was expected and no huge deal. We had been up since 1am and after a delayed flight and running on barely any sleep we’re looking forward to putting our toes in the sand and getting a bite to eat. As we were walking away from the front desk we were stopped by Fernando who kindly offered to help us get to wh [... read more]at we needed. What seemed like a kind gesture was extremely misleading. His job is to give the guests free travel credit and free access to exclusive areas so long as you are willing to go sit in on a 1 hr meeting the next morning. The resort company does it in an effort to get you to book directly through them and skip booking agencies.... after being “dicked” around and held back while he showed us this and that I finally called him out on it. I had told him numerous times I desperately needed something to eat, I was starved and under slept and not willing to commit to a 900am breakfast meeting. He got really rude with me, somewhat aggressive, barking at me to give him back this piece of paper he had given us. Believe me at this point I didn’t care, gave him back the thing and gladly walked away. He literally wasted the first hour of my 4 days trip... I was less than impressed. Aside from the terrible start, everything else was PERFECT! The resort is clean, well kept. I never seen anything broken or damaged. The food was phenomenal. The bar, restaurant and front desk staff were spectacular. There was lots of different pool areas to meet anyone’s needs. If you want fun lively atmosphere the main pool was perfect. There were also at least 2 other pool areas not including the swim ups which were quieter and for those who want to relax The beach was busy but definitely the nicest part of the stretch. Oh and the spa, oh my god the spa was amazing. Best massage ever by Luis. So much so I went twice. Lastly the entertainment staff was amazing! Best evening show id seen at any resorts. Great vacation at grand sunset princess

Resort was very beautiful. The beach was our favourite.. beautiful white sand, shallow water and you could snorkel if you walked out a bit. We saw some interesting fish-including some sting Rays and even an octopus! There was no seaweed at all in the water or on the beach. There were plenty of chairs on the beach and shady areas. If you want a guaranteed shady area I suggest putting your towel out early, otherwise you could easily find shade around 2 pm when people start leaving. The taco cart by the pool was amazing! I found the staff very friendly and accommodating. I really don't have anything negative to say about this resort. We had a junior deluxe suite.. it was very big and extremely clean. The bed was very comfortable and I was very happy to have the jacuzzi tub which I used quite a bit. The Japanese restaurant was my favourite.. we sat at the show table. The meal was delicious and show entertaining. I also enjoyed the mexican. The Italian was decent as well, which surprised me because most resorts I have been to have had horrible italian. The buffet was always fresh with a huge variety. They had different themes every day which was nice. There was always something going on for entertainment. I really enjoyed my stay at this resort and it now ranks as one of my favourites!

Amazing Resort!

This resort was AMAZING! The food was very good although the buffet was sometimes only warm. I found a microwave and would warm up my food. The A la carte Restaurants were very good. I loved the Fundue but at the Steak House, the steak was hard I loved going to the pool and the ocean. The beach had no seaweeds at all. The workers were very polite made things easy for us. I would absolutely return to this resort.

Great Resort, Highly recommend

This hotel is amazing, the size is so big that you don't realize how busy it is. We had a swim out room which was private, and the pool associated with this area was literally empty. The entertainment amazing, drinks and food as well. The staff was very friendly, attentive and welcoming. I would return to this resort in a heartbeat. I also went for a couple of massages and recommend Hector, he does a fantastic job, I came out of there feeling like a new person. Beautiful and nice hotel

Very clean and quiet nice beach last place and i like the pool the buffet is good and Many différent something to eat i have like my vacancy and many souvenirs stay in my memories The agencement is so nice i like thé place because i make some promenade

Amazing Resort....

The resort was amazing, the night life on the resort was very good, was always something to do, a very large resort....a lot of walking, there night shows were amazing, the rooms were great, especially the swim outs.

Great Resort!!

We loved our stay at Grand Princess, the resort was very clean, staff were very hospitable and the variety of activities were excellent! The food wasn’t the best but no one got sick!! We opted for the chill out lounge and it was well worth it!!

Beautiful Resort

The overall experience was excellent..the food, the variety of restaurants, service, cleanliness, friendly staff and layout of the resort. The only thing that I was disappointed in was that the entertainment at night was not long enough. It shut down at 10 or 10:30 pm and not everyone is interested in going to the Disco.

Awesome trip, but room for improvements

The hotel was beautiful for the age, grounds were clean, tons of animals and little critters which was a plus for my boyfriend and i. service was good, drinks were good, food was simply OK compared to some resorts that i have said at before. We upgraded to the deluxe junior suite which was worth the few extra dollars simply as the rooms are in the middle of the resort were all the activities and the pools are located. Preferred the taco hut over the lunch buffet personally but the buffet was still good for lunch. Breakfast had tons of variety and always had delicious fresh fruits. Supper was OK oriental night was amazing, steak house and teppanyaki were delicious but besides that nothing to get too excited over, one night the buffet was so icky that we had to go to the sports bar which is open 24 hours and get burgers and fries which were super yummy. The bar staff at the sports bar were awesome and fun, not to mention had a larger variety of cocktails to offer compared to the pool bar. Beds were comfy but found the pillows to be a little hard for my liking but that would be my biggest complaint about the room as the showers were hot and had the perfect amount of water pressure. My biggest down fall for this hotel would be lack of seating around the pool as the seat savers get up at 5am every morning to reserve seats around the pool that they never use. UGH but that is no fault of the hotel and happens literally everywhere!!!! I would not hesitate to return if i was to find the right price like i did this trip. We had a great time, and the few minor things mentioned would not be enough to not tell you to give it a go, age is just a number doesn't make the place any less beautiful than any of the newer hotels.

Very Large Resort!

The resort itself was beautiful and well maintained. A La Cartes were good, buffet on other hand we found that the hot buffet part was not hot(by the time you got to your table the food was cold). We also found that overall the food at the buffet was not really that good. Staff was very friendly and courteous, service was excellent. The beach was immaculate. Entertainment was good with a good variety to entertain all ages. We had a swim out and our pool area couldve been maintained better then i [... read more]t was (had floating debris/leaves that we had to clean out ourselves at times as no pool maintainence was done regularly). Room was amazing- maid cleaned very well and fridge was well stocked.

Love this resort !

From the welcoming to our departure, all was great. Friendly and helpful staff, beautiful and clean grounds and rooms. The food was great, entertainment every night was fun. We also booked a special romantic dinner on the beach....out of this world !! Staff made us feel extra special, took care of us as if we were superstars, the setting was perfect, the food was incredible. Also Sunwing rep Miguel was great, knowledgeble and helpful. Large, busy resort

This resort was exactly as advertised. Good food, friendly staff, lots of wildlife (monkeys, Coatis, Iguanas. Pelicans etc.) Expect to do a lot of walking since it is about 900 metres from the Restaurants to the beach. Golf cart transportation is available.

Amazing Christmas Holiday

The resort put on a fantastic New Year’s Eve party for all ages including food and entertainment. The resort was back to normal by morning. Impressive! The entire week was great from food to beach.

Perfect Beach

The resort was kept immaculately clean. The food was great especially in the a la cartel restaurants or the paid restaurants. Staff were always courteous and friendly. Shuttle service available on resort.
