Up’s and downs

In all we had a good experience. Food, service, pool were good. The beach is narrow and the sea is beautiful. The rooms were hit and miss. Our group had two bungalows, rooms 3201 and 3302. 3302 had no hot water and the toilet backed up whenever used. Maintenance came but nothing was fixed. After four days the were finally able to move to another bungalow that was in good repair. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. This resort is tired, it does have what you need for a nice vacation.

One of the BEST!!

Memories Caribe, will leave you with many beautiful memories. From the moment you enter the lobby and greeted by the entertainment staff with an energizing musical dance welcome, you know you're in for a good time. The staff here are super polite and accommodating with anything that will add to your overall comfort. A shoutout to our maid Maria, who introduced herself as soon as we entered our room. However this gave us the opportunity to meet our next maid Jacklyn, who left us a beautiful note, since the following day was her scheduled day off. But the kindness doesn't stop there, we also were greeted daily at the Bean Cafe by Yusmilba's personal touch for your morning, afternoon, poolside coffee treat. Memories has so much going for it, the grounds are immaculate, the food was pretty good, the drinks were amazing, entertainment was electric and that beach was pristine. Perfect for a beautiful stroll along the coastline or the offshore sand beaches. But the service is what makes a difference with any vacation, and Memories Caribe scores a 5+.

Just OK

You still get value for what you paid for, but recent general Cuban issues are definitely visible. Based on previous reviews I expected it to be a bit better. Fortunately weather cooperated, so it made all other issues less important. Food was fine like for Cuban standards. Saw it much better, but it was before covid era. Shower in our room worked, but water pressure was so weak (during all stay) that it was really challenging to take a shower, regardless of the time, morning, afternoon and/or e [... read more]vening. Lack of toilet paper in public washrooms, so be prepared to carry some with you in case you need it. Mosquitos also want to eat you up, especially after 5:00 PM or early in the morning. Repellent is a must to have. It definitely saved us. Rooms clean and spacy, however "open concept" of bathroom-shower-sink area was in my opinion a bit too much of extravagance. No privacy whatsoever. Evening shows so, so. Now a few good things for a change. Very nice beach and obviously gorgeous ocean. No issues with finding shade under palapas. Tons of them available any time of the day. During low tide you can walk hours alongside the ocean as far as adjacent hotels. Very, very nice walk if you like walking of course :-). Hotel's grounds very nice looking and kept clean by Cuban folks working hard every day. Pool and area around it also nice and clean. Seems like pool itself has been renewed recently as it looks really, really appealing. Best Spanish coffee definitely in the lobby bar. As always, very friendly Cuban people make you feel being welcomed and try their best to serve your needs. All and all, we had a very good time in this hotel.

Very nice place

Awesome staff, nice looking and welcoming. Loved it will be going again! The ocean was awesome and the pool was very nice. The staff had constant activities aswell as various music. Loved the experience!

Overall Great.

Relatively small yet spacious, so everything is close, 2 minutes to the beach, 2 minutes to the restaurant, 2 minutes to everywhere. Beach is good, plenty of room to take a walk, plenty of room to rest.

Great resort for beach and relaxation

Sandra from trip central is awesome informative friendly and efficient! Sunwing flight going and coming back was perfect. Arrival to the resort by bus was quick. Waited for our room ready around 2pm great! Our room and balcony was fantastic. Tropical views great safe walking nice breeze. Food was usual for Cuba. Service was good. Not many flies or mosquitos. We got sick on our 6th day not sure if from food or scorching sun! We know what to expect and had a good time. Air condition hot water bed and toilet paper not an issue.

Best beach!!

We stayed for a week in April 2024 and first time to Cayo Coco. Been to Cuba many times before and knew what to expect with shortages, hot water issues and paint chipping in the rooms. We have stayed in a tent and a 5 star, so anything in between is just fine with us. The beach at Caribe is second to none and the staff are awesome as always in Cuba! Sure, the mosquitos and no-see-ums are terrible during dusk and dawn, but nothing a little repellant, Vick’s Vapo Rub and Vitamin B1 can’t handle.  [... read more]All in all, will 100% go back!

Nice memory from Memories Caribe Cayo Coco-Cuba

June 2024 My wife and I spent 7 days at Memories Caribe Cayo Coco resort in Cuba. Weather was perfect, room was nice and the beach….perfect! The only big complain is not the food, which anyone knows how it is ….hey, is Cuba, but flies were everywhere on the food! Not one or two but LOTS of them. We have intended to eat lots of fruits but forget it! No air conditioned in the main buffet, spoons and forks we waited at the empty table to be served with. Happily we didn’t miss the eggs which saved our lunch daily. Now let’s talk the positive part which saved our entire moral for the whole vacation. I am talking about excellent, very nice and kind persons like Cowan Marin Yanelis from public relation office, or Mme Yusmilba from BEANS Café who made REAL coffee for us, greeting you always with a smile on her face, polite and professional approach. Also Alisnei the barman on the beach was excellent, polite, always with a smile and greeting you. Junior also from BITES was doing excellent ton or chicken sandwiches! Miguel from Route 66, thank you for all your super drinks! In conclusion guys you will choose if you go or not I have told you only my experience for this trip. At the end I want to congratulate AIT TRANSAT which had done an excellent flight but their aircrafts were real luxury with leather seats and chair screens, Thank you to the stewardess OCEANE who proved to me and my wife an real professional employee and a very nice character .GO FOR IT AIR TRANSAT!!!Keep doing the same excellent job. Best resort for the Cayo Coco beach!

Had a great time at this resort once again! Fantastic clean beach with no seaweed with tuquoise waters. Unlike other resorts, there was no shortage of food and the pastas, stirfries with chicken, beef or pork, always tasty. Breakfast eggs done your way a great welcome to the day in the morning. No issues with my room. Staff always did a fantastic job with entertainment and games at the beach, pool, and theatre. Frontdesk helpful to answer any questions. Going back

The grounds were very well manicured. The staff was friendly and accommodating. One of the nicest beaches i have seen. I was surprised by the choices on the buffet. The Alacarts were surprisingly good.

“ Cheap and Cheerfull with No Frills”

The best part about Cayo Coco is the beach. You will not go hungry here with limited options. You just have to find what you like to eat for the week and stick to that. Basic amenities are provided and staff are more than willing to try and meet your needs. Little to no night life if that’s your thing. Lenny’s is a great place to visit if you want to get off the resort. Bugs are a definite problem with no intervention to clear them out.

Nice place

The grounds are very well kept. Our room was nice and in excellent repair, the only drawback was that there was no hot water and they were unable to fix.we were there for two weeks The alacartes were surprisingly good, well served and delicious. With our diamond club we got an extra alacarte, and so enjoyed our served breakfast every day. There were a few shortages at times, eggs, rice, bread, beans, soap in the bathrooms and toilet paper. If you go to be sure to take all your meds, snacks and a couple of rolls of toilet paper.Also small packs of Kleenex for resort washrooms which were often without any. The lounge at the airport was disappointing. We were there for an hour had balogna on a bun and instant coffee( yes saw the girl make it ). Wasn’t, much else available but juices and beer and rum. No pastries. Two flights of stairs up,then across the airport and then 2 flights of stairs down to get to the lounge. Escalator and elevator not working, my sore knee was not happy. All and all enjoyed this resort ,but if you can,t handle the shortfalls you won,t be happy. P.s. the staff was wonderful

Loved this resort!!

Really liked the hotel !! For Cuba it’s well kept .. could use updating but you’re not in the room enough to care!! Enjoyed both the pool and of course the beach was amazing!! Get diamond club upgrade it’s worth it!!

Stunning beach!

We had a great time at memories. Nice and relaxing. We knew of the shortages going to Cuba. But very surprised at how bad they were. We were in Cayo Cruz 3 weeks prior and this time it was worse. The staff were very friendly, minus a few at the front counter. But Jorge and Nayat in customers service made up for the bad behavior from front desk! You could not ask for a nicer beach. Absolutely stunning.

A big disappointment

This place is dated. The room was okay, but we did end up having to move because a rodent of some sort was getting into the room through the electrical outlet, eating snacks and pooping on the vanity. They ran out of beer the day we got there, but did have it the next day. Drinks were very limited and there was no soda pop to be found.The food at the buffet was okay for Cuba, but lacking in variety. There was no bread, so burgers and hotdogs, if they had them were served Keto style. They had e [... read more]ggs most days, which was great for an omelet. The snack bar on the beach had decent pizza, but it took forever to make and they usually ran out. The staff were okay, but I don't appreciate being expected to tip for every single thing you get, especially when it really is part of their job. We could not get out beach towels changed daily, so had to use them for 3 days in a row. Toilet paper is in short supply, so you run around the resort trying to find napkins or toilet paper on the cleaning carts. We ended up moving to the other Memories resort on the 5th night. They did not have ice or blender drinks. The room was much nicer, but they did not clean our room until our check out day. Their snack bar had an hour long line up for food and they ran out. The beach was beautiful and it was easy to find a chair at the pool or the beach. This was the only saving grace. I will not be travelling to Cuba again.

Cheap Vacation, but...

We were told that there could be supply issues and I believe it should be stated on the Memories Caribe website exactly what the issues are so that guests can make an informed decision on whether they would stay there or somewhere else. Firstly, it was hard to get towels changed and when they did, well we have better scrub rags (tattered and frayed edges and not very white. The fridge in the room was empty from day one to day seven. When we inquired about water, soda or even beer, we were told [... read more] it was due to supply issues. In particular, gas for the trucks to make deliveries. Second, the food. We had bread on 3 days only. Never had any bacon or ham. I believe the omelettes were made from powered eggs and were served with tomatoes, green peppers and cheese. A couple of mornings we were offered hotdog wieners or hamburger patties (meat only- no buns). Don't get me wrong, I did not starve, but the meals they served, were the same every damn day. Chicken or pork with chicken or pork stir fry cooked fresh on the grill. They also had tallapia fish grilled fresh and freshly cooked pasta. I just wish they could have changed it up a few days. A few French fries would have been nice. Third, wine. Wine was only offered at the buffet and the al-a-carte restaurants during lunch and dinner. There was no wine available at the bars around the resort. On a good note, It's a great place to go if you want to lose a few pounds. Lastly, at the end of our vacation and went to the Cuban airport and got to chat with others who were on vacations at different resorts, some experienced shortages also but not to the extreme we did, and some travelers experienced no shortage at all. Majority of the staff were great and tried to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The problem I think is the management lacks innovation or motivation to improve the situation.

Beautiful resort

The resort was very beautiful from the palm trees to the flower's and the beach the different venues were decorated nicely. The public washrooms were kept impeccable and they decorated the sinks with hibiscus flowers everyday. Entertainment was good. Different choices everyday in the piano bar, at the pool and a beach party at night!! (Wear insect repellent) There were some shortages…items unavailable at times were bottled water, bread. Fabulous time!

Beautiful and clean resort! Lots of activities to keep you entertained all day and evening. Staff are engaging and friendly! Food was good, lots of drinks available. Loved the beach party, disco and piano bar. Great entertainment nightly, truly enjoyable! Dancing into the night! Always great music throughout the resort and disco represented by DJ Tinta. The entertainment team was awesome!

Such a fun resort

Food was pretty good. Lots to drink. Beautiful beach and shallow warm water and fun pool action. Hardly wait to go back. I would recommend buying the diamond pkg . All the staff everywhere was friendly and hard working. Felt bad for buffet staff. They were clearing, setting and serving people. Too bad there wasn’t some extra help for them. Hard workers

Staff aren't welcoming

I booked this resort knowing that there's shortages of food and supplies but I didn't realize that it also lack customer service. Neither receptionists nor the wait staff make you feel welcome. Whenever you asked them something I sensed that they are not willing to help by their tone of voice. Same with the wait staff. Even with tips and gifts, my room was hardly cleaned and our beach towel was only changed twice in a week. I almost feel that they took us ( tourists) for granted. I can accept that they are short on certain food and supplies but to not have customer service is not acceptable.
