Chiq was really nice

We liked the resort. It's small and seems like 5 minutes walk to restaurants and beach (and we were at the back of the resort). We were there for 10 days and could have been there longer. Spent most of the time on the beach walking for 5-10km every day. Beach is windy constantly and when it was cooler we went to the pool. Restaurants are nice (Italian, Buffet and Indian were our preferred places) - did not have to book them ahead of time. Some of the waiter staff were not trained on the menu options. As a vegan, I was able to have options for breakfast, lunch and dinners every day. If there weren't options, the chef was helpful in preparing a veggie dish just for me.

Wonderful Vacation and Staff are top notch

This hotel is beautiful, the grounds are well kept and clean. The staff are amazing so many names to mention Wendy from the spa group, German at the beach. The bartenders in the lobby never let my drink get too low :) I don't normally go back to any resort twice but this is one I would in a heart beat. The room was beautiful and had a surprise for us waiting on our Birthday !!

Loved this resort!

The CHIC lived up to our expectations. Service was excellent, quality of food and drink was exceptional and newer decor was fabulous! Lots of hand sanitizer was available in washrooms and all needed to use before entering the buffet. Not all staff wore masks but guess DR like Canada have removed the mask mandate. All staff was eager to please and lots of variety of entertainment ..not your typical shows ..very creative. Diamond Club is closer to pool activities so could be a bit louder. We chose [... read more] the quieter regular rooms which was closer to the spa and gym. Good sized resort and was easy to walk to everything. One odd thing was the restaurant bookings. We were told no reservations required however you needed to put your name on a list at 6pm in order to get a time. Bit strange but that was the only complaint.

Beautiful resort and service!

Just returned from our week of March 25-April 1st. Beautiful, clean resort. Food was great at all of the restaurants. Our butler, Teudi looked after all of our requests from our room to reservations at the a la carte restaurants. Met with the Sunwing rep on Saturday and he assured me NO testing had to be required since we departed on April 1st. Filling out the ArriveCAN app was seamless…did it on the beach with all my information. Need to be more clarification on the QR code needed at th [... read more]e airport in order to depart the Dominican! I was fortunate enough to have it sent to me from a family member and showed it on my iPhone. Flight in and out of Hamilton was seamless.

Wonderful resort!

Really enjoyed all of the restaurants, the food was great and the servers were friendly! The beach was beautiful and the grounds were clean. The rooms were a little smaller than expected, and the beds creaked with the slightest movement but were comfortable. The shows were fun, the entertainers were very good and interactive with the audience.

Amazing Resort

The Amenities were very close and the staff was amazing, even through COVID they were always there to help in any way. I would recommend this resort. Our butlers Emilio and Teuidi were excellent in getting our questions answered and were very quick to respond to our emails. Every restaurant that we visited the staff again was there to help in any way. Royalton CHIC Punta Cana

Our hotel stay was really great. The grounds are very beautiful, the rooms are clean and the food is really good. We stayed in the Diamond club and it was well worth it. A big shout out to our butlers Amilio and Teudi they were simply amazing. They touched base everyday to ensure that we had everything we needed and find out where we would like dinner reservations for the evening. Also Nesto at the buffet was also amazing, he took care of our every need for breakfast and lunch everyday. We were there with a small group to renew our vows for our 25th wedding anniversary and our wedding planner Channiel did an amazing job as well. The entire day was perfect, even mother nature co-operated. We would definitely recommend to friends and family

Beautiful Resort

This hotel was amazing. Restaurants, service, staff, grounds, food, drinks, pool and beach. Everything was top notch and perfect!! Kudos to the Entertainment staff for keeping everyone entertained all day. Santiago was the best with all his staff. Only thing I wasn't crazy about, was that the washrooms in the rooms did not have doors. Yes, a door to the toilet but not to the washroom itself. Lacked privacy. Otherwise, everything else was fantastic.

Positives and Negatives

Excellent Staff. The people at this resort were amazing. A couple of small issues with the resort but please stop advertising the "Dreambed". Our bed snapped and cracked every time we moved and the frame was made of cheap plywood. Pulled the sheets back on the final day and mattress was dirty. This resort is showing it's age with hand dryers not working, smelly bathrooms, etc. Food was generally ok but always overcooked at the buffet. Nice touches were: always having room key on your wrist (all  [... read more]resorts should do this), no cards required for towels, entertainment was generally very good and as mentioned all the employees were terrific.

Bad Ressort

We had a lot of problems in the room and management of the resort did not fix it. 1. Loud noise (metal grinding and knocking) from the room Air Conditioner. Was never fixed. 2. TV did not work four days. After that works only three days and dead again. From two weeks it works only five days. 3. Shower did not work four days. 4. The room phone did not work four days. 5. The room minifridge is empty. Nothing delivered. Not even water. We had to go to the concierge (phone is not workin [... read more]g) to ask for water. Even after that we were getting only thee 350 ml bottles for two for a day! How chip Royalton management! 6. There is no coffee-machine in the room. 7. There is no mini bar in the room.

Great Resort

Great clean resort. The food was half decent had great entertainment and pool area. The only concern was if you aren’t diamond club you cannot reserve restaurants, so you need to line up at 6 in a crazy line only for them to tell you to come back at 8 and then come back again at 9. The food at these restaurants was also amazing and delicious one night and then mediocre the next. But overall we had a great trip.

Great resort

We had an amazing time at the Chic Royalton in Punta Cana. The service and food were great, best part is real Clamato for us Canadians. Our butler Juan was amazing and went above and beyond for us. We had an amazing server at the Hunter steak house named Nester. My favourite bartender was Marisol. She too was amazing. I highly recommend this resort. When you go search out these wonderful people to say hi.

It was nice

Resort was very clean with amazing restaurants. We enjoyed unlimited and no reserve idea for restaurants. Lounge chairs were better than other resorts. Only negative thing was the pushy timeshare people. Every building had an attendant on duty and his job was to send you to timeshare. They got a little rude when we refused. We also had a problem with having our fridge stocked. When we ask for beer, the guy who delivered came right out and asked for a tip. My husband told him it’s part of se [... read more]rvice after he asked three times for money. We were furious at his attitude and complained. Can’t say that we would return to this resort.

A glorious resort

So very pleased with our choice to go to Hotel Chic Punta Cana Dominican Republic Everything from our diamond club room overlooking the pools and beach and comfy beds and our own Butler which took care of our dinner reservations to making sure we had anything we needed, The food was superb and top named brand alcohol available everywhere. Nice vacation

At first we were disappointed because we had a small room with two beds and we had specified one king bed. This was rectified two days later with a better room. As for the hotel we considered it a 4star resort rather than a 5 star generally. What we enjoyed was the friendliness of all the staff wanting to render our vacation as perfect as possible. Decent Stay! Great party/entertainment resort

We've just returned from a one week stay at Chic Punta Cana. Given the mixed reviews we read, we had set our expectations accordingly to hope for the best but expect to be somewhat disappointed. I should note that during my stay I was asked a few times to complete a tripadvisor review by staff which makes me realize the importance of filtering reviews with less concentration and more suspicion on some of the "one-and-done" reviews especially with only one or two sentences. Our arrival and che [... read more]ck-in was quite smooth. Since we had a Presidental Suite with Diamond Club access we checked in at the Diamond Club centre. It took about 15 minutes until we received our key bracelets (which I thought was a really cool touch), were introduced to our butler, Miguel, then escorted to our room in Building 4, 1st floor. I had read that the rooms were pretty tired and, while I see why, I was initially pleasantly surprised with the room despite it needing a bit of an update. During our stay we didn't have any issues with air conditioning as it worked perfectly with separate units for the bedroom vs the living area. Unfortunately, the problems we did encounter really impacted our enjoyment and overall trip impression. I encountered a few large cockroaches in the room and, while the team took care of them quickly, it left me feeling a bit uneasy throughout my stay. The other issue would be that our toilet area often smelled like an outhouse due to sewage back-up issues. I understand that these things can happen but, having stayed in several "5 star, adults only" resorts in Punta Cana in the past it was the first time I had experienced these issues so it felt particularly unpleasant. We felt the food was decent at the resort but did not compare in quality to other similarly rated resorts we had stayed at in Punta Cana, particularly in the buffet which was average. Many people we talked to really enjoyed Hunter's Steak House. We had great meals at Tagine and Vespa (great pizza!). The buffet was typical but unremarkable compared to previous experiences at other Punta Cana resorts. The sushi restaurant was held in the same place as the diamond club breakfast. It was disappointing that the design of the sushi felt like a cafeteria rather than a cool sushi spot which we often see and the food at this restaurant did not impress us. The pool area was lively and enjoyable. The chair game is much worse than other resorts - if you do not get up very early there was limited availability so you wouldn't just risk location but instead may be lucky to get a chair/bed at all. I woke up early to run everyday so was able to observe this but we decided not to participate in the game and paid for a cabana for our entire stay. The cabana was a great touch and our butler, Jimmy, was amazing and we received the best service from him. We thought that the pool and beach were really great. The entertainment at this resort is really impressive if you are okay with noise, which we are. I would rate the entertainment team above average - this is where Chic excels. I enjoyed that they had fitness classes by the pool/beach area beyond your typical aquafit so you didn't have to miss out on precious outdoor time during the day by going to a gym. The beach was beautiful and clean. We went on long beach walks daily which we enjoyed. A special shout out to J Carlo and the entertainment team who were dedicated to ensuring everyone had fun. The evening entertainment was also great and much better than most other resorts we've been to. We enjoyed many of the shows but there is no dedicated theatre area for these shows and we noticed that people would be reserving seats (which were more limited than even the pool area) hours in advance with many left standing throughout the shows. As mentioned above, entertainment is where this resorts excels. They had some original shows like the Queen tribute, Madonna tribute, circus and a 'silent disco'. It was a fresh change from typical Michael Jackson shows. Since there are many fitness classes offered throughout the day, I was disappointed with the gym which was on the small side with limited weight machines and equipment but we were able to get creative and it was adequate. Service was hit and miss. Our butlers Miguel (room) and Jimmy (cabana)really went above and beyond. Carlo's (server) and Amouris (pizza maker) at Vespa were absolute delights. Other than those great experiences, we seemed to encounter a lot of average service and a lot of employees who seemed to be having bad days. If entertainment is the most important feature for a resort for you, I would recommend this resort to you. Without the upgraded suite, diamond club access and rented pool cabana, I would be cautious in recommending this resort at all as, even with these add-ons, I would rate Chic as a stretch 4. I would not consider this a luxury resort so would have to ensure I set expecations before recommending this resort to friends or family.

Wonderful Time

Our stay at the CHIC resort was wonderful. The staff were amazing, very accommodating and friendly. We enjoyed the food and the restaurants were all walk in which we liked, no reservations needed. The entertainment was great each and every night. The games pool side and on the beach were funny and entertaining. The room was clean as was the resort it self. The down side for me was the beach which was lovely but because we were on the Atlantic side the water was rough. I prefer less waves. All in [... read more] all we had a great time.

The Resort was everything we wantef

We had an amazing time mostly because of the staff.. Yvonne and Flavio were Amazing at Auqafit every day. Tony Shelby and the Entertainment group were Fabulous also The presentation and the taste of the food was Great!!!

Chic Punta Cana Vacation Feb 2020

Just returned after a 10 Day stay at the Chic resort in Punta Cana .. The Resort was Well maintained . Rooms very clean.Bathrooms were in need of a little update . The Food was the best We have ever had on any of our Caribbean Stays . There was So much to choose from ..A La Carte restaurants were Great especially the Sushi Pescatore , not only did they have sushi ,but the baby back rib was yummy. No complaints about any of the food , the buffet had So many choices ,from breakfast menu ,lunc [... read more]h and evening dinner . The Staff were All So friendly and happy to help all the time . Our entertainment team was FIRST Class ,also the fitness program was lots of fun , aqua fit and yoga classes . Our vacation was perfect from beginning To end . Highly recommended.

Chic Punta Cana

Was away over the Christmas holidays and the resort went above and beyond for New Years. I loved that it never felt crowded could always get chairs by pool or beach. Food was also good, my only complaint was the rooms are a little run down, the furniture needs replacing other then that our time was amazing!!!! I highly recommend if you get the butler service to use Ronald he goes above and beyond for you. This vacation spot will not disappoint you. Cheers
