Smaller hotel with everything close together. Great service, great entertainment, you can easily relax or party by the pool. Drinks were great, you could get any drink. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Great resort!
Beautiful grounds. Clean rooms. Good food.
Unfortunately service at the front desk was poor. Slow and disinterested staff.
No beach or room towels on 2 days. No explanation given. Beach and pool beds were hard to find but it was a busy time of the year.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Lovely resort
Overall, the resort was lovely. The lazy river was definitely a highlight, especially as the main pool close to the beach is small and seemed to be primarily filled with people who wanted access to the swim up bar.
The beach was gorgeous, plenty of sun chairs and plenty of shade.
Food and service were hit or miss. Buffet was mediocre at best - the best options were fresh made omelettes/eggs and grilled sandwiches. Of the a la carte restaurants, our best experiences were at Rio (Brazilian) [... read more]and Zen (Japanese teppanyaki). We went to Rio on my husband's birthday - they accommodated and earlier seating, food was delicious (salad bar was nice to have) and the staff made a big show out of celebrating my husband's birthday with a whole cake and song and dance!
We had high expectations of Hunter steakhouse and unfortunately we were very disappointed. Despite having a reservation, we waited an hour to be seated. Everyone received their appetizer but me - I finally received it after asking 3 times. And service was extremely slow.
Our room was excellent - totally worth the upgrade to the 1-BR suite with our two teenage boys - plenty of room for the 4 of us, 2 full bathrooms and an incredible view!
Overall, we had a wonderful time but would likely return to one of the other two resorts we have been to in DR over this one.

Royalton CHIC Antigua: Resort was exactly what we hoped for
This Hotel clean.with lots of open spaces to relax and enjoy the vacation.
The Staff at this resort are probably the friendliest,I have seen at any resort
Entertainment was well done, with something different each and every night.
Hotel was overall great. Room and hotel very clean, good supply of towels. Room service awesome, daily stock of mini fridge and if you wanted more we just called and they brought to you. Room service food was poor always cold and little choices. Didn’t like the hassal of trying to convince us to upgrade and become prime members. Spa services were good. Beach is not good, too much seaweed o[... read more]n beach even though they cleaned up by mid morning was just the same. Very windy area. Food choices at buffet was excellent, a lot of variety and quality was good. Staff very nice, entertainment was good. Check-in was great and fast. Did not like checkout was not given enough information the night before. Overall I give it an 8 out of 10.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Great time!
Great restaurants, buffet could have used more selection and servers. Resort was beautiful, amazing evening entertainment, lots of poolside chairs to choose from, a larger resort but never felt busy or crowded. There were people on the resort trying to sell upgrades, packages, excursions than we were used to. After they knew we weren’t interested, they would leave us alone.

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Was a good resort
We had a nice time, service was a little lacking and drinks took long. The room was nice but the jacuzzi tub on the rooftop didn't work so what was the point of having it.
The main hallways of the hotel were quite dirty and it was hard to get pool chairs if you were not down by 6am.

Royalton Antigua Resort and Spa: Disappointed!
I am writing with deep disappointment regarding our recent stay on March 15 to March 21, which we had chosen to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. This milestone was meant to be a joyful and memorable occasion, yet our experience at your resort was stressful, frustrating, and far below the standards we expected and paid for.
From the moment we arrived, problems began:
1. Room readiness: We had to wait over two hours for our room, which was a highly inconvenient start to what was supposed [... read more]to be a special celebration.
2. Poor service: Staff were often inattentive, leaving us feeling ignored and unvalued as guests. Many times waiting at the Marche Restaurant with no staff in front of their station. Many of the staff did not smile or even try to converse.
3. Food shortages: Key menu items were repeatedly unavailable, impacting our dining experience and enjoyment. On many occasions being told before we ordered that many items were not available. No shrimp, no chicken, no fish.
4. The food tasted stale, old and freezer burnt. When I asked the server, she confirmed that the fish had been frozen. The first time we went to the Score Pub, they were out of many items, and we were told this after waiting for 30 minutes for someone to take our order. We went back the next day, and ordered a Cuban sandwich at the Score Pub and was served a piece of pork and processed yellow cheese. The Smothered Chicken I ordered was deceiving by its name, as I received a processed chicken patty with yellow processed cheese. The Pasta allo Scoglio was overcooked with one shrimp and 2 mussels at Grazie. At the beach side grill, we ordered the pulled pork sandwich. It literally had 1 tsp of diced pork in it. Many times, Scoops was out of ice cream.
5. Room condition: The room smelt musty, the bathroom was dirty, with cracked tiles and blackened grout. Furniture, including the sofa, was old, scratched, and unpleasant, and the walls showed clear signs of neglect.
The combination of these issues ruined the experience of what should have been one of the happiest moments in our lives. We expected a resort of your reputation to provide cleanliness, attentive service, and a comfortable environment—standards that were clearly not met. Claiming to be a 5 Star Luxury Resort, the Royalton fell extremely short from what it advertises itself to be. The sunwing representative knew about out concerns and those of everyone else; however, nothing was done. We asked about an extended check out time due to the chaos at check in, and nobody got back to us. There were many upset families that waited for 4 hours plus to get rooms, as we were told they had a new computer check-in system. That is no excuse. Even the sunwing rep noted that there should have been more workers at the check-in desk.
Given the severity of these issues and the special occasion, we are requesting full compensation for our stay. We also urge your management team to address these problems immediately, so that future guests do not suffer the same disappointment.
We expect a written response within 14 days outlining how you intend to resolve this matter. I can be reached at jlasilveri@yahoo.ca.
We sincerely hope that the Royalton will take this complaint seriously and demonstrate the professionalism and guest care that should accompany such a celebrated milestone.

Royalton CHIC Cancun: Lovely and Lively Hotel.
The hotel is very elegant and has a great location which is close to shopping and also the bus stop. I enjoyed the gym and restaurants, especially the buffet. They also have a coffee shop that I visited almost daily. This is a busy, lively hotel that appeals to all ages (adults). I had a great time!

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Loved it here!
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this resort. The whole resort was very clean and well maintained. The service we received was exceptional! Very friendly staff everywhere we went. The food was great with lots of options. We particularly loved the coffee bar and gelato! What a treat! My husband and son made use of the gym daily. It was very well kept with lots of equipment. We loved hanging out by the infinity pools every day. Another selling point was the resort’s proximity to the airport!

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Decent Resort
Average resort. The good parts are that there is alot of things to do....lazy river, splash pad, mini golf, flowrider surf simulator, multiple pools.
Rooms are average at best. They are showing some wear and tear and generally not as clean as we would like. Floors were definitely not mopped every day.. hair in the sink.... hair and dust balls in the corners. They have very old wooden doors which have a gap between the doors and jams. Lets light in and you hear every sound in the ha[... read more]llways...
Biggest complaint would be the food....breakfast and lunch choices were great, but dinner was terrible. Tried all of the a la cartes and we really only thought Grazie was good....the rest were below average... always cold and always overcooked. The reservation system on the app is a disaster. If you could get a reservation sometimes the restaurant would have it...sometimes they would not. I also question the reservation system which would say all the restaurants were booked but we would walk by and half the tables would be empty and we ask if we could get a table and they would say no.
Average beach area.....lots of chairs but the water area is not very big.
I would sum up this resort as dissappointing.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Almost Great
Visiting this location was my first experience with an all inclusive location.
The rooms were exactly as advertised, they were great. Very clean and well looked after during our stay.
The staff was very helpful and there is a LOT of staff to help, very friendly always with a smile.
I did find it to be very large ( larger than I would want in the future) some of the restaurants were a long walk.
There is a very well appointed buffet with plenty of options PROBLEM was a lot of the food wasn'[... read more]t very warm, some was actually cold. Cold scrambled eggs really don't cut it but you can get freshly made omlettes.
The other restaurants were difficult to get bookings at a reasonable time for me. The Italian offering was down in the kids section.
Upcharges at the restaraunts for improved steaks or cuts was tremendously expensive. example at the Steakhouse on site to move up to a better cut of steak cost $ 180.00 US, in my opinion that is an unjustifiable charge.
Honestly between the food and the size of the overall facility this resort isn't one I will be going to in the future.
The ocean beach really was un-useable due to seaweed coming in, they tried to keep it at bay but couldn't keep up.

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Nice but not at the standard of the Royalton Brand
Stayed at many Royalton hotels and this specific location definitely is in need of an upgrade and refresh
The hotel rooms were sub-standard - mold in the washrooms and very dated look and feel. For some reason there is a window in the shower that directly faces the bed - very strange.
The lobby, pool area, walk areas, all had chipped stones, and or broken tiles. The electrical in some places were just extension cords throughout.
The AV for the day, was sub standard, and most times, during[... read more] events, the music would cut out, or not work.
The pool absolutely did NOT have enough seating areas. We had to get up at 6:30am just to make sure there was a chair for the day.
It is all inclusive, however the small cabanas were $50US to rent - so they were empty and yet there was no place to sit. People were taking other peoples chairs and umbrellas. At one point, they also ran out of towels.
The pool was also not very clean and every day, since there was wind, one of the small pools was completely covered in sand.
Public washrooms, were clean, but sometimes, ran out of T-paper, and the stall door handles were either "hanging-on" or broken off.
The restaraunts, there are four BUT only two on a given night were open, so was very hard to book to eat since the reservations were already booked up.
The cafeteria, was the only option for eating. It was good, but every day, breakfast, lunch and dinner - you get very bored with eating and what is available.
Would have been nice to be able to dress up for a nice dinner.
Gift shop is very expensive. If you need sunscreen, the min price is between 29-49US for a bottle.
On a positive, the people were nice and friendly. Others, were a little desparate for tips.

Royalton Saint Lucia Resort and Spa: Very nice hotel
The hotel complex is a nice size; no more than a 5 minute walk anywhere. The restaurants were very good. Surprisingly (to me), Hunter's Steakhouse was at the bottom of our list. Service was very good, but the dinners were disappointing. My New York steak was not a very good cut, and my wife's salmon was quite overdone. Grazie, Calypso and Armadillo were quite good; Zen Teppenyaki was fun. The buffet was quite fine; great for breakfast, very good for lunch, and ok for dinner.
Minibar replenishme[... read more]nt was erratic. I had to call everyday for water and beer; a couple of days they didn't replenish at all. I later found out that we could get bottled water at scoops.
Evening entertainment was a bit loud at times and generally not to our liking although country night was good, and the Thursday night Michael Jackson tribute was good.
We had a swim out room in building 4, and that was really good. I would do that again.
Housekeeping was excellent. The lady who did our room was very pleasant and efficient.
For some reason there were no facecloths provided, even though we asked every day. We finally got a couple on our last day.
Overall we had a very good and enjoyable week.
The resort grounds were very very clean and there were always workers cleaning and picking things up. The biggest plus of this resort is the staff! The friendliest and helpful workers overall of any all inclusive we’ve been to. The drinks were great with lots of choices. À la Carte restaurants Ma Maison and Rio were very comparable to decent Canadian cuisine. The gelato bar and cafe are delicious. The pools are busy. And the chair game is real! If you’re not up and reserving a chair before 7am y[... read more]ou’re not getting one by the pool! It is a family resort and we have kids but we were not ready for the amount of toddlers and babies. It’s probably had the most amount of children running wild. The lazy river is amazing and we spent so much time in it!
Rooms are fairly comfortable & cleaned well. We had a private cabana with pool one day and it was well worth the price and our best day at the resort. Overall it’s a nice resort for a decent price. We were almost scared out of coming to this resort because of complaints of sickness and food, but, no one in our group was ill. We couldnt use the beach because the sargassum was so bad the week we were there.
The only complaint would be a little updating the waterpark slides and updating the beds and pillows (the beds/pillows and bedding were quite hard and not comfortable). And even though it’s a family resort we were a bit annoyed by the sheer volume of whining kids. We would return to this resort for sure but as Diamond Club to get a break from the busy family side.

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Not recommended
We travelled to Royalton chic 25 th of February to March 4th, 2026. Overall good resort in the beginning, foods not good at all. I had only pasta and pizza during my stay there as their food wasn’t good. Room looked like clean but last day we realized my husband having some rashes on his skin.
