The best of Varadero!!!

The Iberostar Selection Bella Vista is an amazing hotel. The restaurants, pools, beach and staff are exceptional! Cuban beach’s, weather and hospitality have always been reasons to travel to this beautiful island, this hotel experience took it to the next level! If you do choose this hotel, upgrade to Star Prestige, it is well worth it! Cleanliness and safety protocols are a high priority. We felt very safe and had zero COVID concerns. In all, a hassle free amazing vacation!!!

Amazing

Great rooms the wiev fantastic the resort great lots to do it from massages tennis gim walking the food was ok but the employees very friendly and funny the teatre good shows everynight lot to do at the beach from voliball walking on sand meet new people s I was there for a week and I had great time and I will go back again I was at Cuba fees time but this is my favorite resort

Overall good resort, will go again!

Staff were nice. we felt that stall were there to help you and very professional. Food was good. Every thing was clean. we liked the layout of the resort. Great café bar. I would definitely reserve a room with the beach/water view next time

Ok Resort

Rooms were very clean!. Food was simply okay though, not enough choices. Staff was awesome!! Always a smile on their face and really welcoming. Entertainment was all right. But maybe they should think about adding diversity for some evening (standup comedy show, magic etc.) . It was really a lot of dance choreography.

Average resort

Great beach, clean grounds, but slow and dirty elevators. Upgrade to premium not really worth it. Staff and cleaners did their best. Great reception and check in service. Buffet restaurant always out of plates. Don't expect potatoes on the menu.

Beautiful Resort

Amazing resort had lots of fun with my wife, Staff was great and food was very good. Resort was very close to the beach and close to downtown varadero and the entertainment was perfect, will be recommending this hotel to my friends an family

A beautiful place for a relaxing get away!

Only 30 minutes from the airport. There is not one thing I would change about this trip. Hotel room was clean, well stocked the air conditioning worked amazing. A huge tub, lots of hot water all around perfect room set up. The grounds were very well maintained. Very clean. Pool was spotless. Beach was breathtaking, we spent every day there. The food was fantastic. So much fish, shrimp and lobster. Yum! Omelets every morning for breakfast. Lots of variety and delisous. We went to Havanna, the bus tour was 10 hours long and every minute enjoyable. I am so glad we did this excursion. The city was beautiful. Bus trip in to varadero. The market was so fun. Saw the Beatles cafe. Was not harassed by the vendors once. Purshaced lots of sourvienors They were very polite. We felt very safe touring around on foot. Nightly entertainment at 930. Always a good show. Very relaxing and recharging trip. Just way we were looking for.

Mediocre

Hotel itself was pretty clean. Nice big lobby and terrace. Same food menu for our entire trip. Shower was separated from bedroom with a window..no window covering.Hotel told us all rooms are like this.After multiple requests to atleast cover as i had my children with me Hotel staff placed a black garbage bag over window. Bedding was damp and never changed during our stay.

Very nice hotel

The hotel was nice, really clean and the staff was so friendly! They were genuinely grateful when we tipped to get drinks or left money on the table at the buffet. Unlike Mexico where they have a hand out and expect it. The food was not great, but typical for what you would find in all of Cuba, no fault of the resort. The kids club was awesome! Actually great dancing and singing, and the magic show blew my kids minds. The beach was perfect, beautiful water and sand, and can walk for a long time. All in all I would definitely recommend!

Another wonderful vacation

This was our second time at this resort in the past 6 months. Yes, we read the reviews the first time and again the second time. A few of the reviews that we we read were somewhat accurate, but many of them made us think they had the wrong resort. The staff at this resort are second to none. The rooms, as long as clean, we only slept and showered. But they were nice clean rooms. The food at this resort was better than any resort we've stayed at in Cuba. There was always a good sel [... read more]ection in the buffet. The A La Cartes were also good. The beaches....nothing needs to be said...the best in the world. The pools....well, we only stayed at the swim up pool and it was a pool with great people and excellent service. Our glasses were never empty. The Lobby bar where we spent most of our evenings made our vacation. Yordano and her staff went of of their way to service our needs. And always with a smile. special shout out to Boris, our glasses were filled before they were empty. The entire lobby bar staff made this an amazing vacation. Yes there are a few broken tiles here and there. I'm sure they will get fixed. Small things happen and we would never let those small things spoil our vacation. The staff: These are the happiest staff I have ever encountered in Cuba. So to the management, I suggest you keep doing whatever it is you're doing. These people brings back guests. Would we go back? Spend your money elsewhere

I was very disappointed in this resort, the room had large amounts of black mould in it, water damage on the ceiling and walls, bed sheets were not changed the whole time we were there, no toilet paper left in our room one day, I had to beg another housekeeper for a roll and only got it after I showed her what little we had left in our room. We tipped every day, so it is not because we did not tip. Several of the elevators do not work around the resort, I read about this prior to going and it s [... read more]eems to be an on-going issue. Some of the public washrooms around the resort do not have toilet paper, hand soap or paper towels past noon and many of the times the washroom doors are locked from the inside with no one in them. The hallways have several holes in them where the tiles have broken, but it has caused holes 2 inches deep, some greater than 4 inches wide. An accident waiting to happen. The food on the buffet was good and I was never hungry, but after 10 days, I was tired of eating what little selection they had. The a la cartes are usually better than the buffet. Not so much with this resort. Their Steakhouse does not have steak on it's menu, or even beef at all. How can it be called a steakhouse? The food in it was okay. While we were at the Teppanyaki restaurant I had a cockroach run across the bar in front of me while the chef was preparing our food. I trapped him under a cup so everyone else did not know. I understand it's a tropical location, but still not nice to see. The drinks were great and we never had to wait very long to get a drink, no matter where we went. The staff were amazing and very friendly at the bars and restaurants. The few shows we did see were very good. The singers they have on staff are amazingly talented. When we were there, they decided to rip up the stage and perform the shows in the main lobby. It was hard to get a seat when the show was done inside (rain, windy) and when it was done on the patio, seats were also just as limited because they just don't have the seats available for a show. You could not sit in the lobby and enjoy a drink during the showtimes because you couldn't hear yourself think with the show going on, and there was no where else to drink other thank the snack bar at that time, but they did not have the same selection. Not a huge deal, but, it ended our evening early a few nights because we could not find seats for the show, did not want to stand, and could not hear each other talk at the lobby bar because the show was happening right there. I will never return to this resort, or Varadero, this is my second time in Varadero and I have not enjoyed either trip. I have been other places in Cuba and will stick with them. I will not recommend this resort to anyone, ever.

Nice resort

The hotel was nice, food was decent for a Cuban resort... there were always a few basic things missing like lemon for the fish or ketchup for fries but not a big deal. The staff made our trip, everyone was always happy and wanting to do their best to help. Thank you Tammy for booking our last minute trip

Very nice resort

Rooms were very spacious , comfortable bed. Towels needed to be renewed and /or washed better. Food was good . In general very nice hotel enjoyed staying there. Will recommend it . Needs a little more activities at the beach. New Years dinner was very good and animation also.

Poor Management and customer service

We travel to Cuba frequently and our recent trip was the worst experience we ever had. Resort was rated to be 5 Star but it's not. First thing we experienced after checking in and heading to our room was broken and missing floor tiles in the hallways and even in the elevators through the resort. Linen in the room had moldy smell. When we go to Cuba we keep our mind open when it comes to food but never experienced cockroaches running around on the food in buffet restaurant. Third day at the resor [... read more]t around noon I slipped on the wet floor and fell. This resulted in an injury on my forehead and eyebrow I was bleeding really bad. After dressing my wound a little bit the staff got us in a cab and told us to go to the clinic. No one from the resort bother to ride with us to the clinic. My wife was really panicking and luckily these was a very nice couple from Toronto that we had met earlier, they offered to come with us. Doctors and staff at the clinic were very nice they took care of me right away. After getting around ten stitches we came back to the resort. A couple of days later my stitches start bleeding badly early in the morning. We went to the reception and we were told to take a cab to the clinic. The Resort should have looked after their guests better especially when they got injured at their facility. Surprisingly a Five Star resort did not have customer service any better than 2 Star. Long story short it was the worst trip ever to Cuba.

Lovely stay at Bella Vista

I enjoyed this hotel very much. The service was very good. The room was clean and large. The grounds and each restaurant was well kept. The lobby was the best place to sit and relax. The logistics of this hotel made it easy to move around. I like that the pool was close to the beach. The beach is beautiful especially for swimming. The food was okay but understandably its Cuba and no fault of the staff.

Good resort

Overall great resort! We had a lot of fun. Hotel grounds were great. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Water sports and beach amenities were a highlight. Food was good but some people in our group caught some sort of bug.

Average stay

Hotel is beautiful but needs upkeep . For a property that is 3 yrs old it is not well kept. Food is average and staff seems unhappy. Nothing is labeled at the buffet and the a la carte restaurants lack attention to detail ie take forever to come around with wine and lack ambience. Coffee at the coffee bar was great, don’t expect much at the buffet. Been to Cuba 7 times and have definitely had better. Pools were clean and drinks were great. Don’t understand the lack of pool towels especially [... read more] since the resort was only at 50% capacity. Overall ok, don’t believe I’ll be back.

Amazing Resort and People!

Hotel is clean, bright and lively. Pools are spotless and the grounds are immaculately maintained. Rooms are spacious and the staff do a great job cleaning them each day. Food was wonderful, different items with each meal and day. The staff are so friendly and a pleasure to deal with.

Beautiful Beach🏝

The beach was beautiful, surrounded by royal palms and lush foliage. Lots of lounges and coverage from the sun. The pools were clean and the staff always attentive. The rooms were a bit dated and new pillows are needed. There were options for food, all three of the restaurants were pleasant and the buffet had something for everyone. The 24 hour snack bar had a nice outside patio and the entertainment was fun!

Awesome Vacation

This resort has excellent. Whole resort was very clean. Staff was Fun, accommodating, and very friendly. Nightly entertainment was amazing. Things to do every night. Food was Great. Many restaurants and different locations to eat.
