Wonderful resort

Very easy to navigate, staff were all so friendly, food was good and very clean and well cared for grounds. White wine shortage but beer and red wine sangrias sweet delicious. Bar staff at the pool were friendly and entertaining and the rooms were spotless every day.

Great time overall with a sour ending

We enjoyed our stay at this resort and met many friendly staff members Great beach and pool area as well There was one instance on our last day that unfortunately sour our experience when customer service forced our daughter and son in law staying on a separate room to pay for a towel that they never had to start with . There was only on bath towel in the room from the first day they got there. Room maid said they were short of towels and so they just made do with one towel all week and  [... read more]yet they demanded payment on check out for a second towel that they never had.

Beware

Beware the Extortioners and Thieves We had a decent time at the Grand Muthu Americante until the last day when we were extorted by the house keeper, customer service, manager and the representative from Air Canada vacations. On the 1st day at the resort our room had no bath towels. On the second day I returned to the room after breakfast to our housekeeper and informed her we had no bath towels. She said that they were out but gave me an extra blue beach towel and said they would get us a bat [... read more]h towel when she had one available. We came back that evening to one bath towel. The rest of the vacation we had 3 beach and 1 bath towel thinking this was the best we were going to get. Then on the last day (perfectly timed) as the bus is arriving to take us to the airport we are confronted by a customer service rep saying that we stole towels and owed them $30 USD. After explaining the situation the customer service rep goes to the Muthu rep at the bus and tells him that they are not to leave until we pay. We repeatedly told them to search our bags, each time they decline. We repeatedly asked to talk to the manager, Ramon, who is in a “meeting” and refuses to come talk to us. The bus is now completely loaded and waiting on us. It’s only at this point that the Air Canada rep(Oscar) gets involved and tells us just to pay them so we can get going. We tell them to pull our bags from the bus and we will take a taxi. They refuse. Now holding our luggage hostage. This is when I clue in that it’s a clever rouse. Out of frustration I open my wallet and offer cash to settle it. They refuse demanding Credit Card Payment. Now what are you going to do? The bus is waiting, they have your luggage, you’re stuck! In the end we had to pay. Moral of the story… when you get to the hotel take an inventory of everything in your room, report everything to the front desk and take notes of names and times you went to them and bring a credit card that you don’t mind cancelling…. To be called thieves and deal with mediocre food and drink was totally not worth it.

Great Resort

Nice beach, not very big but it's a great beach for walking no shells. People working here are super friendly always have a smile on there face. Food at the buffet is great always have different options to choose from.

Amazing resort

Every Thursday they celebrate Canada Day on the beach 🏝️ during lunch time with full drinks and very rich sumptuous lunch. It shows they have lot of respect for Canada, and Canadian tourists. Their cart services need improvement. In our group we had two handicap ladies. From their beach, 24 hours restaurant, very often the ladies have to wait more than an hour for cart service back to room. Secondly, when we requested for an extension of check out time by one hour, due to handicap la [... read more]dies, to the guest service manager, it was declined.

Very nicevresort

The hotel.is very calain and all people and soecialy mr roual the manager is very hard worker he is all time and every where to control everthing from tgevdoid to security and very nice with the gusts

Amazing resort

Nice and clean. If the lobby and theatre installed the ceiling fan may be better. Come to the self-service restaurant buffet, I hope that the servers will be with the same person at the same time and they will not have different services for the sake of tips. If the servers are well serve definitely the clients will left you the tips.

Overall it was ok

So we went from the 27th August to the 3rd September, no moschitos that was a big relief, the beach was very nice up until local people arrived and left dirt behind them because apparently this beach is public and they come just before school starts 😳 the food was mhhhh, no tomatoes no onions, most of the meals were just very salty and don't get first floor rooms because you may have little uninvited friends 😀 Have fun!!!

Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Hotel ..

August 22nd, 2023: We booked Air Transat with agent Janet Merrill. She was amazing explaining every question we needed to know about the booking of our flight. Our flight was safe, happy with kind hostess and experience pilot. Gran Muthu Hotel is the best hotel,we were welcome at front desk friendly staff who help us get settled to our connect rooms. Every day, rooms got clean by kind house cleaners. Food was good, fresh daily. Only orange juice was missing for breakfast. My family of four will visit again.

Grant Muthu hotel resort The resort are always beautiful, water, staff working really hard work always and happy service we love to come back every year., the only one thing there is the foods wish if they can improved it: SUNWING Flight is problem.

Great resort!

It was our 2nd time at this resort. Really good resort

The hotel is great, laid out nicely, one piece building for the most of it, except VIP area. Excellent staff! Most importantly, beach in Holguín and in this resort is beautiful. Excellent for families and for young couples. Pools, all do we rarely use it, are really nice, placed at the good location. Food is fine. One thing I would like to strongly suggest and believe it is really important - beach: Even so they do have a person to collect "unwanted items" (garbage) and we see th [... read more]em doing so. They need a personal all day doing extra diligent work basically with passion to have clear beach. And it is needed especially Saturday and Saturday. Also, would like to add, even so the resort is new, we have been to this resort already twice. Would suggest to everyone. We lake to see different places but I am sure we will perhaps go there again in the future.

Nice and clean resort

The hotel is very clean, very good entertainments and staff are very helpful and pleasant. The only thing we wish that there were more variety of vegetables. However, one thing we were concerned that there were so many flies in the buffet restaurant.

Great resort, Friendly staff

Everything was fine. Shortage of some foods, bananas, lettuce. Buffet clean, restos were great. We went to the Japanese, Indian and Elite. I got COVID on the return journey. Still recovering. We went on a trip to see the dolphins swimming. My card was refused. It was a pin issue that I sorted out on return. The trip was amazing and I would highly recommend! The animation team were great. Loved the roof top bar.

Amazing Resort

Fabulous 5 stars hotel , one hour by bus from the airport, very nice beach, Excellent food ,Staff were extremely friendly, we stayed the first week of June , all days were sunny. one restaurant 24 Hrs, Very expensive COHIBA cigar to smoke in the cigar bar.

Still fresh.

You get the bang for the buck! But I would suggest bringing white Wine, ketchup or bbq sauce. Other than that everything was awesome. Always plenty of beach chairs with umbrellas at the beach and beach beds at the pool.

Very good resort!

The hotel is lovely as are the grounds. The hotel is new so it has nice, modern features. Everything is immaculately clean! Staff is friendly and service is great. The food, for a Cuban resort, is very good. The buffet had a nice selection of fresh vegetables for salads, not a huge selection of fruit but it was fresh and delicious. There are many comments made about the food being bland in Cuba but we did not find that to be the case here. The food is tasty and well seasoned. There were 5 I'm our group ranging in ages from 24 to 62 and we all had a wonderful time!

Great value

Beautiful hotel, lots of space, friendly staff and food was very good for Cuba. The beach was amazing and wasn’t very busy. Lots of activities onsite and excursions available offsite. You can also walk around the neighbourhood, the locals are friendly and the area is safe.

Beautiful resort with lunch gardens

Resort was beautiful. Gardens were lusch and well maintained supervised by Dennis and his team. Kudos to all of them. Food wise, there was variety. There was beef, pork, chicken, fish and side dishes plenty. Al la carts were excellent. Went to Indian, Japanese and international. All were excellent. The rooms were new, clean and well maintained. The only 2 concerns I had was the animation in the lobby. Every evening, lots of people but no entertainment. There were some music, but th [... read more]ey needed more. Also the bar in the lobby. They need to be more experienced in mixing drinks. I had 2 drinks there that were not made right unfortunately. The crowd vibe was older at this resort. If you're looking for a quiet resort, this would be the place.

Stay Away (from cuba)

A struggle to get water and toilette paper, rude staff, food tastes dirty, everyone I travelled with got sick, no mixes for drinks, All water except for your water in your room (which you only get one bottle of) tastes like dirt and may not be safe to drink (tap water), No pop/soft drinks, meat made me sick. Minimal shady areas by the pool. Power goes out in room at least once a day. If you ask for water they dismiss you, I needed toilette paper in the gym and they dismissed me and said "No to [... read more]ilette paper". Country lacks resources to run an all inclusive resort. Off resort locals won't serve you. Resort is new which is a plus but everything else trumps this.
