Sonesta Maho Beach: pleasant environment, great beach

Consisitent with a 3 star hotel, good food but limited variety, staff are cordial but not all that engaged and need to be prompted for basics such as water, coffee or utensils, customer service training needs work

Le Flamboyant: Nice secluded home away from home

Pros: The location was perfect, and the villas felt like home... It was also great being beached to the lagoon, with watersports so easily accessable! Everyone was friendly and the resort felt safe Cons: Spotty Wi-Fi. You had to be in the lobby to get reception. Also, the bathroom had a funny smell coming out of it... I'm assuming it's because they didn't ventilate the pipes properly. The beach sand was frequently used as a giant kitty litter box, so we had to watch where we stepped and wore sho [... read more]es. Also, the "continental breakfast" just turned out to be bread and juice with coffee... Which cost us $20. Otherwise, cute resort! We just used it for a place to sleep, because we were out exploring the beautiful island every day. So it definitely was a safe and pretty place.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Hotel and grounds very nice

Hotel very nice and grounds are well maintained. The view from al la cartes is beautiful. Sunscape dollars is a lot of fun and need to put more prizes to offer. Nice to be able to walk to sea aquarium . Great snorkeling.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Great vacation

Resort was great, people were very kind, felt very safe, we were at the older end which was really nice and the beach was great, a lot of chairs. We liked the great dinners outside and the men could wear dress shorts with shirts...no long pants! Would return for another vacation.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: A Little Slice of Heaven!

Our family stayed at the Sunscape Curacao from Mar 22-29/15, and had an amazing week! We all enjoyed the fact that it was a small resort, and everything - pools, beach, bars, restaurants, and our rooms were within a short walking distance. We stayed in a garden view room, which was very spacious, clean, and nicely decorated. The beds were very comfortable, and other than hearing loud music from Mambo Beach a few nights, we slept well. Blankets are not supplied in the rooms, so do ask for one as [... read more] the air conditioner blows right over top of the beds. We had a huge balcony with a table and 2 chairs, as well as a drying rack for swimsuits. The only complaint we had about the room was that when you showered, the water would flood the floor. The glass door did not fit the tub very well, and the ledge around the tub was not level, so the floor got soaked. We dealt with the problem by putting a beach towel on the floor along the edge of the tub. It might be helpful, however, if the shower door was replaced with a shower curtain. There was a good variety of food with the restaurants. We ate at the buffet in the morning and at lunch, and twice for dinner. Coffee service was slow in the morning, so maybe having a self-serve coffee bar would be helpful. The breakfast smoothies were great, but again long line ups, so maybe having two people making them would shorten the wait. The guacamole at lunch was a big hit, and we loved having all the fresh fruit (especially the passion fruit!!). When we stayed in Aruba, they only served canned fruit! Our favorite al la carte was the Japanese restaurant -- we ate there twice. The food was hot, fresh, and delicious ... a special "shout-out" to Kurt, who did a great job cooking and entertaining us. The seafood restaurant was also very good, and we were seated at a table right on the beach. The Italian was good as well, although the service was really slow. Although the beach is not very long for walking, it is beautiful. We loved being able to snorkel right off the beach. The break-wall helps keep the water calm, and it was so clear you could see the tiny fish swimming by. We did take our water shoes as recommended by other reviewers, but found we did not need them. The pools were clean and close to the beach. Part of the pool is under a covered gazebo, which was a great place to relax if you needed time out of the sun. The swim up bar was great too, and usually very busy! The bartenders did an amazing job handling the lineups--even when we showed up with our tray of thermal mugs! They served a variety of drinks, and always offered a special "drink of the day". Our favorite was frozen lemonade, coconut rum, and blue curacao..."lemon smurf"! We also really enjoyed the coffee bar where they would make cappuccinos, lattes, and espressos. Our only complaint is that they closed too early (10 pm). It would be better if they stayed open until 11 pm to accommodate the late night diners (coffee is not served at night after dinner in the restaurants, or at least it was never offered). The ambiance of this resort was very relaxing. They had the most beautiful music playing all day long that was never loud or intrusive. The evening entertainment was top notch. The bands that played around the poolside in the evening were extremely talented, and we were always sad when they finished their last set. We had a special treat on our last night with "Carnivale" -- the music and the costumes were amazing, and made us feel like we were in Rio. All in all, we had a wonderful vacation at this resort... great sunshine with a constant gentle breeze, good food, beautiful beach, warm, friendly people. We've been fortunate to have had the opportunity to travel to many different islands over the years, and I think Curacao is one of our favorites. Next time though, we'll stay for 2 weeks!

La Plantation: layed back charm

The plantation hotel offers an ideal location part way up the hillside to get the ocean breezes and ocean views yet only a short walk to restaurants / bars and the beach. Clean, quiet and comfortable with spacious rooms and huge covered porches / patios. This hotel is not a party place but a quiet place to call home. We would definitely stay here again to visit the Island

Sunscape Curacao Resort: A hidden gem on a beautiful island

We recently traveled to Curacao and stayed at the Sunscape all inclusive resort. We were pleasantly surprised at the beautiful island and the resort amenities. The resort was very welcoming and eager to please the visitors. Upon checkin with Danielle, which was efficient and quick, we were able to upgrade our room for a very reasonable and discounted price. The room was very clean and large overlooking the ocean and resort. The restaurants were good. Food was good, especially at the Italian and  [... read more]steak house. The buffet offered a good variety at all meals, however, the service was not consistent. The resort offers many activities for children and adults. The pools are clean and well maintained. Drinks at the bars were very good. The beach and ocean are very nice. Overall, we were very pleased with the entire experience and would highly recommend the resort. It is a great deal for the price. We will definitely be returning next year.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Best resort ever!

This is the nicest resort we have ever stayed at in 20 years.the beach is beautiful ,the staff were friendly and helpful. The foods was very good especially in the a la carte restaurants. We had a lovely time and can't wait to go back.The rep we had was wonderful..so knowledgeable and helpful.

Sonesta Great Bay Beach & Casino: Great Vacation - I will be back!

Excellent food quantity, quality & selection. Buffet had different theme every night. No reservations required in a la carte. Great upgraded oceanview room with large shower, granite countertop, cozy king sized bed with comfy pillows & duvet. Nice little balcony with excellent ocean view & wooden chairs & table. Fridge well stocked with pop, water, & beer; bottles of gin, rum & vodka along with coffee pot also there to be used as desired. Very friendly, thoughtful & considerate staff, always ask [... read more]ing if they can do anything for you .Remembering a few of the employees names who gave great service: Edrick, Jonathon, Innocent, Geral, Shahib, Cleopatra, Veronica, Penko & many others whose names unfortunately I can't remember! A cold towel & champagne on arrival & Spa gift when checking in. A bottle of champagne & chocolate dipped strawberries delivered to room first night on occasion of our wedding anniversary. Maids were very attentive, bringing fresh towels whenever needed, turning down bed & cleaning room every day, right down to washing the floor. Everything was kept very clean, rooms, restaurants, beach, beach tables were washed every day as well, etc. etc. Hand sanitizer was offered in buffet restaurant & tables & chairs were wiped down after people left. Pools & hot tub were kept clean every day as well & hot tub was actually HOT. Great location within walking distance of Phillipsburg & duty free shopping. Lots of beach lounge chairs & umbrellas. You did have to get up early to reserve them though if you wanted a specific spot. Evening entertainment was OK if you weren't too tired to stay up. Daytime entertainment at the pool was enjoyed by many! The ONLY complaint I have is that there isn't anywhere to hang your bathing suit to dry & no hook in bathroom to hang your bathrobe or clothes on while you shower.

Sonesta Maho Beach: Paradise !

Sonesta Maho and its staff are amazing, The resort is clean and nice, great service and very friendly and helpful staff. My boyfriend and I had the time of our lives and will defenitly be back next year!

Sandals Royal Curacao: Most beautiful vacation

This was the best place to take a vacation. You are surrounded by nature including beautiful birds and friendly iguanas. The place is very clean, quiet and well maintained and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The island tour and the Williamstad tour are well worth it.

Sandals Royal Curacao: Santa Barbara-

Santa Barbara was definitely a beautiful resort but they have a long way to go if they are planning on keeping All-Inclusive packages.There was next to no entertainment during the day or evenings.There were no entertainment staff trying to get people involved in pool side activities and the few days that they had singers at dinner, they were gone by 10 p.m. There is only one restaurant that you go to for dinner unless you want to "pay extra".You are entitled to only one a la carte depending on t [... read more]he date that you book.(Even though we had the time booked we still waited app 1 1/2 hours as we were a party of Five).The drinks were mediocre-if I heard "not on your package you need to pay extra" once more I would have screamed.The staff however are very friendly.We have stayed at many all-inclusives before, have spent way less money and have gotten alot more than what we got for our very expensive vacation at Santa Barbara.Never have I gone away and have gone to bed at 11p.m. because there was simply nothing to do.

Sonesta Ocean Point Resort: Very Nice Resort, Great Vacation!

Overall, we were extremely pleased with our stay at the Sonesta Ocean Point in St. Maarten. Stories about being 'under construction' from other reviews were overblown. Proximity to the airport isn't for everyone...if you're looking for a completely quiet place this probably isn't the right choice. Food was great, staff were good, weather was incredible!

Palace St. Martin: Beautiful resort!

The resort is beautiful! The food was excellent, great quality and variety on the buffet. The staff were friendly and provided great service. The pool was very nice, with an infinity pool and you didn't have to hunt for lounge chairs as there were always some available. The location is very picturesque, surrounded by mountains. The resort was well maintained and always clean. It's somewhat remote from the main city (Phillipsburg) on the island but we took advantage of the shuttle to do a bit of  [... read more]shopping (cab rides are expensive on the island). I would defintely recommend this resort!

Palace St. Martin: Beautiful resort

Do not listen to the bad reviews about this place. Our room was beautifully renovated, fresh and clean, air conditioning worked extremely well, bed was so comfortable. Food was delicious best we've ever had at an all inclusive. Beach was beautiful, but unfortunatey week we were there had too much seaweed and beach crew could not keep up so it looked message (Mar 1-8). Wi-Fi was amazing, so strong. There is nothing bad to say about place, except the entertainment. Because the hotel is so remote a [... read more]nd you cannot get off the resort without taking an expensive taxi, they need to improve on that aspect, but it is not a dealbreaker. The T.V. had excellent shows to watch on it. So that's about it. If you go here, you will not be disappointed (unless you are a previous Radisson Blu guest or Riu Palace guest as they seemed to complain the most).

Palace St. Martin: Quiet lovely resort

Good food,sunshine,clean room,nice people. What's not to like? This is not a teenagers or action filled resort. The only suggestion I would have is a resort is for coffee or tea dedicated area for all hours (not at the bar or in your room)

Divi Little Bay Beach Resort: Great resort

Loved the resort ,clean,great views, nice pools (small) relaxing not too busy which we really liked. 20 min walk to town would be a problem if you had mobility issues. Great views of the cruise ships We would stay again

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Beautiful vacation

Sunscape Curacao Resort was very nice and all staff are very friendly and helpful. Beautiful hotel grounds, beach. The only thing is we were travelling with our 1.5 year old son and there weren't any kid friendly pools for him to play in. Also we had asked to have his dinner to come out before all of ours and it wouldn't and he was hungry or would be soo tired fall asleep without dinner. Sonesta Maho Beach: Great beach, beautiful island!

We stayed at Sonesta Maho Beach Resort. We enjoyed all the action watching the planes come and go. The food was good. It lacked some variety in food, but we always found something to eat. Heineken in a can was great! The pool was a funky shade of green, but we preferred the always available chairs at the beach. It was fun being right in the action of Maho Village. The rooms were clean, good mattress

it is one of the best hotels I've stayed at a little rustic then I'm used to but the Island is wonderful and the staff at the Hotel are beyond wonderful they are is great to the tourist everyone is like family I travel alone so that is important to me Just GREAT
