Valentin Cayo Cruz: Nice resort

The grounds were nice. The staff went out of there way to help. The food shortage is a problem but always found something, no eggs bread run out of pop. Cleaning staff was ok only problem towels were hardly changed always hot water. Beautiful views throughout the resort. There is a lot of stairs so may cause problems if motility issues.

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Nice Resort

We went there as six people. The grounds and the hotel itself are amazing. The staff works so hard and it is so clean at all times. Me and my husband had requested a king size bed with an adjoining room for our granddaughters. When we got there, my husband and I had two double beds instead of one king, and someone else had been booked in between us and the granddaughters. Aside from those mistakes, we had an amazing time at this resort. The biggest problem was the other guests and the reserving of chairs both at the beach and at the pool. I was told by another guest that you had to be up at 4 AM to get a chair at the beach. That doesn’t seem right when you are on vacation. There needs to be a better system put in place.

The workers are great. Still lacking varieties of food options and decent entertainment . The beach is nice and the place is clean. It's far from any attractions if you are looking for excursions or a close by town to visit.

Gran Muthu Imperial: Great resort

I took my family there for the first time and we had a great time. Beach was wonderful and the staff were always ready to assist us. We had great service and had enough food that we did not starve. We may not go back as we like an adults only resort.

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Beautiful resort and amazing beach

April 2024 Resort is very nice, clean and well maintained. Staff are pleasant and always available and eager to help. Beautiful pools for all ages. A la carte restaurant are really good especially the Italian and Brazilian. The buffet was well set up and fresh fish, chicken and steak is available made in front of you. Breakfast was great, fresh egg and omelette stations as well as fresh smoothie station. We had a great time and would recommend this resort.

The resort was clean and full of amazing people ready to make your trip memorable. The shows were entertaining & full of talented artists! The pools were gorgeous and the drinks always flowing. We would return for sure!

Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: We didn’t make it

Water was out for days and when we arrived at airport we were told there that we were being taken to another hotel. We did not get to experience the Iberostar nor did we get the ocean view room we had paid extra for. We were taken to Ville Gale Paredon - on ground floor. Beautiful hotel and room, however and beach. Long lineups and food was just ok.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Stunning beach!

We had a great time at memories. Nice and relaxing. We knew of the shortages going to Cuba. But very surprised at how bad they were. We were in Cayo Cruz 3 weeks prior and this time it was worse. The staff were very friendly, minus a few at the front counter. But Jorge and Nayat in customers service made up for the bad behavior from front desk! You could not ask for a nicer beach. Absolutely stunning.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Great resort to relax !

The pros definitely outweigh the cons of staying at this resort. My cousin and I went the week of April 1st and the purpose of the trip was to relax so this resort being a smaller resort was a great place to do just that. We were in an ocean view room in the Varadero building. Clean rooms a little dated but everything was fine with exception of the toilet not flushing properly. As well there was always some kind of fruit to eat. Pork, beef, chicken and fish were usually all available at the grill along with pasta station stir fry and fried rice station. No going hungry and for a week I don’t mind having the same choices everyday as I could just pick something different to eat. We talked to a lot of other people who loved the resort and kept coming back. We never had to reserve a chair at the beach and there were always some available no matter how late we ventured down. The only true negative for me was that the beach had seaweed about 10 feet into the water . You could walk down the beach in either direction and find a wide beach with no seaweed so wasn’t a deal breaker but I would have preferred a better beach. I could walk 25-30 minutes in either direction so it was a great beach to walk and lots of sea shells. Entertainment in the lobby every night and people liked to sit around and relax. There were night shows in the theatre as well as a disco however we were too tired to bother so not sure about these. I was happy with this resort.

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Great beach! Hotel nice but the rest no bueno!

We stayed March 22-29. Hotel rooms looked 5 star as rated, however without tipping and return to front desk for water and towels we would not have had any of the basic necessities . 3 people in our room but only two bath towels for days. Our shower never had warm or hot water nor did our shower head work or water drain. Long line ups always for food and lack of fresh veggies and fruit. You would have to arrive early for any fresh food. Not always milk for cereal and same basic hot dogs served [... read more] each day . We were aware of the supply crisis in Cuba and planned ahead. We are not high maintenance but days when bread ran out. I felt I spent half my vacation waiting in line. I had to wake up at 5:00 am to be able to have a chair and cover on the beach or pool. People would have places saved but not even be there all day. Our first day I woke up at 6:45 to place our towels as we would normally do especially since we’re there spring break but there were no chairs avail. The hotel staff met me know I had to be there as early as 5:00 am. There were pool tables to enjoy but only one broken cue stick for two tables so no one was able to play. We felt we would not get any help from staff unless we tipped first ; normally a tip is earned not expected. I only ever had water and since it unable to drink from the tap the bars and restaurant were the only place I could get some but I felt I should not have had to tip each time.

Melia Cayo Coco: Amazing Vacation!!! Thank you Melia Cayo Coco!

My husband and I have not been to Cuba since COVID struck so decided to go for two weeks and we were not disappointed! We thoroughly enjoyed this Resort. Considering the food shortages, etc. in Cuba we were fed really well and were grateful for that. The Staff go above and beyond to make sure we are very well looked after. They are a real asset to the Melia Family. The Resort was spotless as were our rooms. The rooms are a little tired, but clean. In our 14 days we only had two issue [... read more]s which was both with our room key/lock. A maintenance staff member arrived quite quickly on both issues and fixed us up! We spent every day on the beach which was absolutely breathtaking. Only had one morning of rain which didn't dampen our spirits one bit! The beach is clean with lots of garbage/ashtrays available. The smoking/non-smoking areas are a bonus. The entertainment... Wow! There was always something going on in the main lobby in the early evening and then at the Theatre. In the mornings you could hear the soft music of the Sax being played from the pool area. I found it very relaxing down on the beach. The "Rock" night band was our favorite. They had everyone up dancing and singing along. So much fun :-) I especially loved the size of the Resort. Easy to get around and easy to meet other guests. The Resort is very well lit at night and the gardeners truly do a beautiful job of keeping the grounds well kept and clean. We only had a few disappointments. One was the depth of the pool. Very shallow. However, I understand that this is one of their Capital Projects to redo the pool so not a biggy in our eyes. Besides, we are beach people. Another disappointment (which I have always had in Cuba), is other guests! 85% are great, but 15% can be so rude to the hardworking staff which really upsets me as they work so hard to please us. All in all, I would highly recommend this Resort and will be back! The Staff make this Resort so special and I would like to give a "shout out" to a few of them who made our vacation the best ever. Melia Jardines del Rey: Very nice resort

Spacious rooms, grounds well kept. Liked the rooms as they all have screens on the balcony doors. Nice for families and people that have mobility issues as it is easy to move around with strollers and wheelchairs. The beach is awesome as there is area for snorkelling and sandy area. Entertainment was great, there was always something for everyone. Lots of lounge chairs and shaded areas on the beach. No need to rush to get good spot.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: A big disappointment

This place is dated. The room was okay, but we did end up having to move because a rodent of some sort was getting into the room through the electrical outlet, eating snacks and pooping on the vanity. They ran out of beer the day we got there, but did have it the next day. Drinks were very limited and there was no soda pop to be found.The food at the buffet was okay for Cuba, but lacking in variety. There was no bread, so burgers and hotdogs, if they had them were served Keto style. They had e [... read more]ggs most days, which was great for an omelet. The snack bar on the beach had decent pizza, but it took forever to make and they usually ran out. The staff were okay, but I don't appreciate being expected to tip for every single thing you get, especially when it really is part of their job. We could not get out beach towels changed daily, so had to use them for 3 days in a row. Toilet paper is in short supply, so you run around the resort trying to find napkins or toilet paper on the cleaning carts. We ended up moving to the other Memories resort on the 5th night. They did not have ice or blender drinks. The room was much nicer, but they did not clean our room until our check out day. Their snack bar had an hour long line up for food and they ran out. The beach was beautiful and it was easy to find a chair at the pool or the beach. This was the only saving grace. I will not be travelling to Cuba again.

Hotel Mojito: Clean and friendly. No issues of food or drink shortages. Did not always have hot water.

Clean grounds. Planting shurbs, tress and flower beds. Painting exterior of rooms. Hotel is kept clean friendly staff . Great beach . Beach bar offers great food for lunches. Cold beer and drinks. Activities daily.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Lovely

What a wonderful resort. Food was plentiful and tasty. Staff warm, welcoming and friendly. Could use a bit of a variety of liquor and snacks but no real complaints ??? Would be nice to have screens on patio doors and waiters at the pool.

Melia Cayo Coco: Smooth and Relaxing

Older clientele and couples made the vibe relaxing and quiet it was perfect! Nice and quiet by 11pm, but still excellent entertainment and a 24hr bar. Well trained staff, professional and friendly. Hotel is smaller with beautiful grounds and lobby. Room was clean, safe and functional. Beach is spectacular, plenty of chairs in the shade, if you show up later will still find a spot, just need to walk a little further. Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Good Relaxing Time

If you're looking to relax and do absolutely nothing, then this is the resort for you. I always had a full meal. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. But you need to ensure that you get there on time because mid lunch/dinner there isn't much left. I brought my condiments with me (ketchup, salt, pepper, mayo and hot sauce) since they are lacking resources in Cuba. This is essential if you want a little flavour. I did not have toilet paper the first two days, so please make sure you pack the BASIC essentials, they came in handy. The beach was stunning. I spent everyday after lunch there, it was cold because of the wind, but it wasn't a bother. Overall, I had a great experience.

Sanctuary White Sands: New Resort

The hotel is brand new so of course it was perfect. Beautifully decorated, lovely walk in shower etc. Lots of choices on the buffet, never went hungry. My only complaint would be the bottled water. We were supposed to be given two bottles per day but that stopped on our fourth day and we weren't given anymore. Water is a must at these places. For me that was not acceptable. Everything else was perfect. It's the place to go if you want to relax, not a party spot.

Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Worst hotel in my life!

We flew in from Calgary to Cayo Coco, but upon arrival at our room, we were dismayed to find no towels, water, toothbrush, and a broken locker. Despite multiple requests to reception, no assistance was provided. The following days, towels were delivered but remained unchanged for the entirety of our seven-day stay. Additionally, we only received two bottles of drinking water for the entire vacation, making access to water incredibly challenging. We kindly request that tripcentral administration refrain from cooperating with such a poor hotel. Our vacation was ruined, resulting in a significant waste of money.

Tryp Cayo Coco: A lot of improvements!!!

Tryp has always been a favourite Cuban destination of ours. We've been there about 10 times and it never disappoints. Granted over the years, hurricanes and covid knocked the wind out of the sails...but the staff has always been welcoming. The resort is coming back to the way it was years ago....no little task given the times. This visit we see a new beach restaurant underway, the stage is being rebuilt, plans for poolside upgrades. Erlin at the swim up bar was amazing, friendly, and a hard worker. Buffet staff attentive, friendly and fun, our regular Belkis even went out of her way to bake a cake for my husband. Midiala warm and friendly. Buffet was clean and fully stocked. No shortages here. Bars were fully stocked, again NO SHORTAGES of anything. Beaches clean, pool clean, grounds clean. Our room was clean and updated. Anything that was wrong (mini fridge didn't work) was fixed immediately. Alexander and Juan at the ala carts were very attentive and friendly. Highly recommend Tryp.
