Melia Jardines del Rey: Was worth the money

We where a group of 4 ladies . We found all the staff from grounds to housekeeping where awesome...the food was good the buffets where my favorite as i am a vegetarian and found the other alacarts had 0 options..ice cream hut was a bonus.. The entertainment was good...the grounds were well kept....

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: unfair called as 5 star hotel

We have been in Cuba 17 times including Varadero, all the times 5 star hotels . This hotel Princess del mare was our worst experience! It is not definitely 5 star hotel !!! ! a)Rooms are not clean, sink and facet was so dirty !, it was not properly cleaned at least for 2-3 years, I could not even touch that b) the worst there were cockroaches everywhere. I have phobia about that , so I had to sleep with the light. c) They gave us only one towel for each of us for all week long , the same to [... read more]wel was for the face and feet ! No drinking water was in the fridge . Every day I had to call at least 5 times to ask Customs Service to bring that to our room. d) There was not a basic normal food in restaurants, even eggs, butter for breakfast , soup was cooked with adds of uneaten salad from yesterday, like pieces of ham, cabbage, pasta, carrots , corn and something else together ! e)A la cart restaurants are even worse! Cockroaches were running on the table near to my plates. Waitress could not speak International language English at all !!! f) Beach chairs were no flat and it was impossible to lay on that at all ! beach sand was not cleaned from grass and other garbage in the mornings like in other resorts. g) and as a rule they pushed us to give money to get something what we had already paid for ! Just after our arrival while checking in they provided us a room with one bed on the 3 floor ( despite our previous request for 2 beds and the fist floor . we are mature 70 years old people ) But just after one minute later with US $25, they gave what we needed. We came for 2 weeks vacation and our time was spoiled and we wasted $5000 and time to rest !

Melia Jardines del Rey: Very Fun Time! - See Review for TIPS

We went with 11 of our friends and family January 9-16th. It was a great trip! The staff were very friendly! Great service by Joel at the Beach Bar, Andres at the Pool/Snack Bar, Rosa & Monica in the buffet restaurant and Nerida from the Coffee Bar. The rooms were clean. However, during the week although the maids "cleaned" the rooms every day you can tell it is a very very quick run through. We had hot water everyday but in our room the toilet did not flush very well, we had to go to guest  [... read more]services to ask for a worker to fix it. They did come that very same day, it helped for a day but then went back to not flushing well. TIP -The tank takes forever to refill so we would use the shower head to fill the tank and then flush again. Our shower hook/curtain fell down every day. We also asked for it to be fixed but they did not fix it until the last day. We never received fresh towels but some of our family did get fresh towels everyday. The air conditioner worked great in our room, however, one of our families room did not have air all week even though they ask for it to be fixed at customer service. Very inconsistent service and issues in each of our rooms. The food was not very good. I mean we already knew that Cuba never has the best food in the first place, plus with the supply shortage it was worse. We knew this going into the vacation so I am not complaining just informing. We always found something to eat. TIPS - The ocean was beautiful but there were rocks to get through when you first get into the ocean so I would definitely bring water shoes. - The mosquitos were terrible. Bring lots and lots of bug spray. - The flies at the beach were everywhere. Stay clear of sitting near garbage cans, throw out your finished drink cups right away. We brought travel mugs so the flies were not able to get into our cups plus the drinks stayed cold longer. The first few days not many flies but end of week tons of flies, perhaps the weather was the reason?!? - We left $1 USD in the fridge everyday with a note for extra bottles of water. Normally you receive two small water bottles each day but by doing this we received 4 bottles of water. - At the breakfast buffet some of the omelette stations have fresh eggs under the counter so if you ask the right cook they will fry those eggs. Bring your bacon to a cook if you want it crispier. - We brought peanut butter and had toast each breakfast. We brought some snacks with us, Pringles, Mixed nuts & Protein bars. I would strongly recommend this. - Book as many a la cartes as you can as the food was better in those restaurants over the buffet. - Do not miss the Tuesday show - acrobatics, it was great! That crew must come in just for that night. The rest of the shows in our opinion were not good. It was a different crew, less talented. We tried a couple but ended up walking out. Bring cards or games for night entertainment. They did always have dancing after the show. - If you want the bed to be more comfortable move the sofa bed cushions onto the bed for more cushion.

Melia Cayo Coco: The Best!

We love this resort and have been 3 times in the last 2 years, and planning our 4th. The beach is absolutely the best! The grounds are well looked after, and the rooms kept clean. Depending on which block you are in, you may have some issues with the plumbing. This is the only down-side we experienced. The food was adequate and plentiful, as was the alcohol supply. However, the biggest think going for The Melia is the staff! All are courteous, attentive and smiley! Keep it up

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Complete dissapointment

Filthy conditions, run down amenities all over the resort, awful and tasteless food and drink, constant inconsistency, serious lacking for the royal service, boring excursions and horrible aircraft for the flights made this "vacation" more of an expensive headache than an enjoyable experience. Now I have the fun of being locked into a post complaint process in which trip central does nothing. Thanks!

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Wonderful Resort

We arrived Friday noon, and we're immediately impressed. Everyone was very friendly, the rooms were clean, and the grounds were stunning. We were warned that there may be some food shortages but we did not notice this at all. The beach and swimming areas were excellent! The pools were lovely and the swim up bar fantastic. Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Fantastic spot

Grounds were wonderful, clean, easy to navigate and the people were wonderful! Yes a bit of food shortages but we knew that going in ---- had the most fabulous time, weather was amazing and the ocean was perfect! A last minute getaway for us and it was just what we needed!

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: QUITE RESORT

We both found this place to be very nice, 3 beaches , easy to find your way around , The Staff was excellent , very good at what they did Entertainment was great , Very Relaxing place , Food was great , never ran out of anything. We did not find any Canadian Whisky , but lots of other brands

Melia Marina Varadero: Good resort

The resort itself has some shortcomings due to age, but the staff was great and they kept the place neat and clean. The food obviously is not the best, but it is okay. The grounds, the pool and the beach are spectacular. The excursion to Habana was really well done complete with old cars and a nice lunch and dinner at the old fort and downtown. The Daiquiri bar in old Habana where Ernest Hemingway used to hang out, is a hotspot and worth the time. We had a great vacation!

Melia Jardines del Rey: Not great

Very clean resort in the lobby and pool areas. Rooms are a bit dated. Mattresses a tad too hard. More bedding required on the beds, sheets are not enough. A/C works well in rooms. Sink pipes leak from time to time. Toilet stops flushing from time to time. Bottled water not left in rooms daily and seemed difficult to get. Front desk staff not overly friendly. Buffet selection limited, little fresh fruit available, often no meat available. So many Flies in buffet area all over food and bothersome  [... read more]while eating. Flies in pizza snack bar are overwhelming. Flies everywhere on the beach take away from the enjoyment. Bugs when sun goes down are awful - mosquitos, nociums, sand fleas - we were eaten alive even with bug spray. Home a week later and still treating bites. Bugs in sit down restaurants slightly more bearable. Drink selection limited - often out of key ingredients for mixed drinks. Blender drinks only available in lobby and on beach. Shortage of cola and Fanta most days.

Melia Cayo Coco: Fantastic holiday

This was our 8th stay at m e l i a Resort. It was fantastic as always, it was really nice to see some of the a lot of familiar faces. Food was great as always, Resort very very clean as usual, staff was fantastic. Special call out to Vivian and Chino AKA Pedro. Looking forward to returning soon.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Good Resort

The resort was nice but needs updating in aesthetics. They are trying to keep up with wear and tear but are lacking in places. Where there once was outdoor shower heads to wash off from the beach they have patched it up completely or they are not working. Toilets need to be cleaned regularly and always well equipped with toilet paper. Restaurants were good buffet good especially if you like fish but repetitive all week both lunch and dinner. Perhaps we should get a refund for what they withhold it would have been nice to get some of the options we had new years the rest of the week. Room was fine but for whatever reason they are very reluctant to exchange bath towels something we pay and expect at the very least. They tried to entertain guests with special days/ events and entertainers. Beach was fantastic. Their bars are all very good and the resort tries to appeal to a variety of people with their cigar bar, piano bar and entertainment in the square at night. If they were to work on food and room cleanliness, and outdoor aesthetics it would be more pleasurable to stay at.

Tryp Cayo Coco: Beautiful Cuba

Although this hotel is showing some signs of ageing ongoing efforts are being made to maintain its appearance as well as its structural integrity. Continuous hot humid weather as well as frequent and violent storms cause havoc to buildings and vegetation but the people of Cuba stoically clear the debris, replant the lost flora, repaint their buildings and rehang their welcome signs. When money becomes available some should be allocated to improving showerheads and faucets. Unfortunately there were some isolated pockets of stagnant water near the snack bar and the main restaurant which caused unpleasant odors and which undoubtedly added to the overabundance of ravenous mosquitos. The beach and ocean are splendid. The grounds are well maintained and safe and as always the personnel was like family. The free WiFi was .such appreciated.

Melia Marina Varadero: Not Recommended

I have a long list of disappointments during our stay in Jan/2024: we had arrived at 10pm and on my ask for a cocktail at the bar I was offered coffee or beer, they don't make cocktails after I'm not sure what hour. The elevator didn't work all the time, no mattress protection, bedding wasn't changed, toilet tank was running, it was not properly flushing even after service was called, we had to use garbage can to flush after ourselves. No variety for food, some days it was no milk for coffee in  [... read more]the morning. I had to request bottled water every day at the reception desk, they had to place a service call for the water being delivered to the room. Once on my question when it will be delivered, the answer was "when he wants to deliver". Only two small bottles were provided for a day. I was able to change beach towel only once during my stay, they never had clean towels in the morning or close to evening hours. It was our first and last vacation in Cuba.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Nice Size resort

We thought the resort all in all was pretty nice, It appeared that some of the resort was not in use, making it feel like a nice size resort, everything was quite handy. It was great having a 24 hour snack bar that had more than just a ham & cheese sandwich. There were still some shortages of some items but to be expected. There was red wine and Rose wine but no white wine. The grounds were nicely kept and friendly staff.

Melia Trinidad Peninsula: Best Resort in Cuba

A truly 5 * resort. Everything was great from the staff, the room, the resort, the food, the drinks. We stayed for Christmas and it was amazing. It felt like a big family. Kids had lots of fun whit the swim out room. Beach not like on the north side of Cuba but still amazing. Bring water shoes. Friendly advice - DO NOT BOOK THE CATAMARAN TRIP! – extremely bad experience but nothing to do with the resort.

Melia Marina Varadero: Great location and Great Food

The location is absolutely superb. The room are spacious and have balcony facing the sea or the pool. The food was spectacular and the staff are very friendly. The hotel is under minor renovations and elevator was not working . However overall we give this hotel a four star .

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Resort review

We just came back from PARADISUS PRINCESA del mar in Cuba. I was concerned as soon as we drove up to the gates and the light was knocked over and the m in mar on the sign was falling off. The rooms and resort in general are run down. It’s obvious Cuba is experiencing shortages. I heard the food in Cuba wasn’t good but was not expecting how poor it was. We do no [... read more]t drink alcohol and the offerings for drinks was extremely limited and mostly undrinkable. The staff are doing there best but we couldn’t even get clean towels in the room they were changed once the whole 7 days. Tipping was also expected for every service. Get a coffee, need to tip. Seven days and a tip for every drink adds up pretty quick. The beach was the best part gorgeous not busy beautiful sand.

Paradisus Princess Del Mar managed to provide a very good service to their guests. the staff were accommodating and helpful. we had an Enjoyable stay and plan to book the same resort again in the near future.

Melia Trinidad Peninsula: Perfect Vacation - Melia Trinidad Peninsula, Cuba

Perfect Vacation! Outstanding service. Great location. Excellent food, wine and cheese. Friendly and courteous staff. Beautiful architecture. Clean buildings. Friendly and experienced trainer in the gym. Kudos to General Manager Juan and his team for focus on customer experience and attention to detail. Would love to visit this location again and other Melia resorts. Note: Must improve road from Santa Clara to Melia Trinidad resort!!!!
