Memories Jibacoa: Disappointed this trip

Grounds, room location great. Most staff fantastic and remember you from previous visits. Sun Wing rep. (Marija?) at hotel was fantastic. Best we have ever had. Buffet was not great. Food over cooked and often cold. Trays constantly empty and often ran out of dishes. Although dinner was 6:30 to 9:30 they did not seem to clear and reset tables much after 8. When we went for dinner first night a little after 9 there was nothing much left........front desk did not advise us of deli and we went to  [... read more]bed hungry. Previous visits buffet had been fantastic. Staff blaming on ownership changeover however we paid full price and did not expect this downturn in food quality

Memories Jibacoa: Nice Resort

This place has a great lay-out for a resort , nice pool and the beach has great snorkeling . The staff are very friendly ,but , like usual the food was poor , it was tuff to find something that worked for me.

Breezes Bahamas: Quick Getaway

This was our second time at the resort due to the value that the resort offers. If you want a five star hotel and five star service this resort is not for you. We enjoyed being able to get away for the weekend for a great price and enjoyed being away from the crowds at Paradise Island. Adults only adds to the quiet as well. The nightly entertainment (Funky D) is lacking and the pool/hot tub really need to cleaned better (we are beach people) as they were always cloudy. Hotel Bella Costa: Beautiful Beach

This hotel is situated on a lovely, white sand beach. The resort itself is a smaller resort, with fewer choices of activities to do in the evenings. The hotel itself is older, and rooms are a bit dated.

Memories Jibacoa: excellent resort

this is our fourth time at breezes, and are planning to go again in the next 12 months. the servise is good the people are friendly the hotel rooms are clean,the food is good with a great deal of variety. I would recommend this property ,as we have been in cuba 16 times at different locations and is by far the best.

No disappointments at this resort. We enjoyed the attention of a smaller resort. Food exceeded our expectations. The grounds very well kept, the rooms always clean, the staff very friendly. We will definitely go back to this resort.

Memories Jibacoa: Quiet Relaxing Resort

My boyfriend and I stayed from Jan 9-16 2015. We had a great time! The resort is small and fairly quiet. The food was good(by Cuban standards). The staff are all wonderful. Very clean hotel. Would return for sure!

Hotel Bella Costa: Great value for your money

Bella Costa is a very nice resort. Overall the grounds are very well kept, clean, no bugs, well manicured. The hotel itself is also very clean, the main building is 20 years old but well maintained. The garden suite rooms are nice, more spacious and also very clean. Beds are adequate, but bring your own pillow if possible. Rooms are clean, no bugs. Dining is above average as far as Cuba goes. All you can eat lobster night was our highlight of the week. There is only one pool, but the beach is awesome and only a one minute walk away. Beach is awesome !! And the hotel is right on the Varadero golf course, if you golf include this as part of your package, it is well worth it to bring your clubs. Also the town of Varadero is not far away if you want to explore. Overall, I highly recommend this resort because the price versus the quality is amazing.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Tired

The hotel was a disappointment as it was like a best western, tired, but clean. The staff was wonderful and friendly, had the best beach on island, had best snorkeling. The food was horrid. The ala-carte restaurants were not worth the time. We spent over half of the time eating off the premises.

Royalton Negril Resort And Spa: Great Value for the money

The beach, food, staff, cleanliness and comfort of the bed are great. The rooms are dated, especially the bathrooms. Water pressure is a problem when showering at certain times. Wifi access is spotty at certain times of the day. However, overall good resort.

Breezes Bahamas: Very courteous staff .. Very clean resort

Rooms clean , and upgraded .. Food at main lounge all right .... Pool bar closes at 6pm , instead of 24 hour service ... Club hurricane , min standard ... Restaurants at hotel very good , staff very polite ......

Jewel Runaway Bay Resort: Best Time Ever

This is my third trip to the Jewel Runaway Bay and our first time bringing the kids, although our kids are 16 and 19 they had an amazing time, we all enjoyed the beach and the entertainment was ongoing from morning to night. We especially enjoyed the New Years dinner and entertainment and the beach party with bomb file and smores. My husband enjoyed the complimentary green fees across the street so he didn't have to spend his vaca on a shuttle to and from the gold course. Frederick and Austin were the best at the 24hr outdoor grill and all the night time beach bar staff were amazing. Thank-you Jewel's see you next year :)

Hotel Los Cactus: Wonderful and Relaxing

I found the Breezes Varadero meet my expectations. The grounds were kept beautifully, the rooms were spacious. The beach was fabulous,mother nature was at her best. Pool side was good.Though the hotel was a bit dated it suited our needs with only two stories and a smaller venue. It was quiet in block B and that is what we wanted. Stay away from sausages and like food that weren't cooked enough.We really enjoyed the special meals at the Grill and Martinos was excellent. Just be ready to tip for service in the restaurants. I noticed the servers in the buffet would put down their own bags at tables and wait for guests. We spent quite a bit on tips on a daily basis. All in all a great and relaxing holiday.

The hotel was great and offers many things to do. They had excellent shows at night for all ages. However, the A La Cart restaurants wasn't what I expected. It did not taste like the Italian or Japanese foods that they offered.

The hotel itself was dated and could use some updating. That being said, the resort overall seemed clean. Room: Although my room really had no issues, other than an uncomfortable mattress, and some cracked floor tiles. The resort grounds were well kept. Beach: The beach was groomed each morning. It was near impossible to find a decent beach chair if you did not go early enough, however we quickly learned that we could find a worker, pay in $2Cuc and he would find chairs to place wherever we want [... read more]ed on the beach. My complaint about getting to the beach is: at either entry to the beach there were stairs, which either had sharp rock jutting out at the bottom of the stairs, or you had to walk across some exposed rock to get to the sand. Food: By far this is the best Cuban resort food that I have eaten in a buffet. Although it seemed repetitive most days, there was always something to eat. The beach bar had a pizza station - the pizza was good, minus the wait time, as there was only 1 person working. Overall: The resort is dated, and probably sits somewhere between a 3.5 to 4* (based on Cuban standards) Would I recommend this place to someone: The simple answer is yes, if they could get a deal. It was relaxing. When I go on a vacation I don't go for the room, I go for the beach, ocean and sunshine.

Hotel Los Cactus: E Z Breezy Breezes

Traveled to Breezes Varadero in late December from snowy Ottawa and stayed for a week over New Years with the Misses. Comparing the resort to the others we saw in the area, we would say that one of the better parts was how spread out the complex is. No tall buildings with plenty of room to walk around. That being said, we saw a few different rooms and you definitely want to request to be as far away from the disco as possible. The food was basically what we expected (ie nothing special...) but definitely edible. Overall, the beach was the best thing about this resort. Great location all the beach, plenty of beach chairs. Hotel Bella Costa: nice resort bad service

The hotel was nice and beautiful beaches as well however the service was not good. We constantly were having to ask for toilet paper and for the room to be cleaned before 6 pm was a chore. The cleanliness of the common areas especially the bathrooms was disgusting. We enjoyed everything there but the service, cleanliness and food. I would go back to cuba but not to this resort

Breezes Bahamas: a fun and fulfilling resort

Overall had a great experience. Staff was amazing and friendly. Amenities were sufficient for what is needed and room was clean. Only complaints were that we wished they offered more than one choice of beer, and that the rooms had fridges or at least came with complimentary water. That aside we had a great experience and would definitely return.

Hotel Bella Costa: Overall a good vacation

There were several pro's and con's to this resort: Pro: short walk to the beach, competition for lounge chairs not horrible, beautiful well kept beach and water was good (very little rocks, debris) Con: rooms were dated and worn with a bad need for a reno, beds were hard and uncomfortable, food was mediocre (pork and beef like shoe leather), the ice cream usually melted, but with the occasional dish that was good. Some things like the pizza bar were good and morning eggs/omelets were always nic [... read more]ely done. The pasta bar was good as was the fresh squeezed orange juice in the mornings. The staff were usually kind and helpful. The drinks were a bit frustrating.. like getting beer or lemonade served in cups a bit larger than dixie cups. One swallow.. gone... back in line for refills. The cups were ok for mixed drinks. The music noise around the pool was annoyingly loud. All. The. Time. with the same old Cuban thump thump thump beat. A bit of variety with the odd North American music would be nice to mix things up a bit. I think most people sat at the beach to escape the noise around the pool as much as to enjoy the beautiful sand and water. The 'adult' pool was mostly used by kids since it felt like it was 3' deep. Ok for water aerobics I guess but not much else. It didn't matter much given the much warmer ocean water. While we paid for the Ocean View, we mostly saw the trees lining the beach, but the sound of the waves and proximity to the beach made up for it. Sadly, being on the ground floor, we had to keep the screen door closed (for security) and there were no windows we could open to enjoy the ocean air and sound at night. Getting in and out of Cuba was frustrating with very long check-in times and lineups, then waiting for Cuba immigration (in and out) taking FOREVER, then security scans of baggage, etc. then waiting in and for the bus to and from the airport. Overall, due to the amazing weather, great beach, and safe Cuban environment, the trip was still good despite some of the down sides I mentioned. My impression was this was one of the better hotels in the area.

Royalton Negril Resort And Spa: Amazing beach

This was an amazing beach location!! Clothing optional area and beach nice and secluded!!! One of the best c/o beaches anywhere in the Caribbean!! The friendliest staff we have ever seen!! Good food!!
