Riu Republica: Average

The hotel is huge, rooms are very confusing, could use more elevators, we had to do 40 stairs everytime we went back to our room.. Unfortunately, we were there during students and their spring break. There had to be 500 students there. My biggest disappointment was there no Canadian whiskey? I have never been to a 4 star that advertised international drinks and no Canadian whiskey. The beaches in pools were amazing stuff was friendly. Resort was clean rooms were pretty good and quick to get things through the app. When you ask for them. All in all it was a good trip.Not one of my favorites , but we had a good time

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Came home happy with our choice

The resort is beautiful and the size is perfect. You would never know the place was at full capacity. Lots of space at the beach and the best part is that you could enjoy the beach at night as its a cove with only Bahia resorts and residences. The food was good with lots of great veggie options too. Our group of six left rejuvenated and happy with our choice. The only negative would be that the water wasn't clear. Not a deal breaker for us.

Lopesan Costa Bavaro Resort Spa and Casino: Loved our stay here

The service here was great. Very nice rooms and beautiful property. The beaches are very nice and clean. The pool is huge and although there is a lot of people around the pool it never seemed crowded.

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Entertainment Team are 10/10

Between Sky, Mr Pineapple Mr Handsome and the rest of the entertainment team, this resort goes above and beyond! Daily games and nightly shows kept me laughing and playing for 2 weeks. They learned my name and always stopped for a quick hello. Definitely 10/10

Viva Tangerine by Wyndham: Amazing resort but cold showers

Overall this resort was great,beaches are beautifull, staff is super friendly and helpfull, food is good and fresh, rooms however lacked thicker sheets on the bed and hot water in the showers… thus why its not 5stars… I would return, but hope the hot water issue is adressed, it was not the same for all rooms, my friends had hot water, but everyone in my building was lacking it… (building 11)

Playabachata Hotel: Resort grounds and rooms, majority of staff were excellent. Food and dining room service was very disappointing.

In regards to our room, we could not control AC - it was either on or off, but no control over low or high. The TV reception was poor. Attempted numerous times to book steak or italian dining rooms with no luck. We also were unable to book excursions. Each time we tried for dining rooms or excursions nothing was available. We have been travelling for many years!

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Wonderful holiday!

We really enjoyed Blue Bay. Our room on the main floor was clean and comfortable. The grounds are very well maintained. The beach was great. The coffee, drinks and food were abundant and good. All staff were really nice and friendly. Liliana and her front desk team and the guest services ladies were absolutely fantastic. Carlos, Pablo and the ladies at the Black and White Bar were also fabulous. The housekeeping staff had a supply room by our room so we met each morning, they were extremely friendly and attended to our every request. It is easy to see why so many of the guests return every year. We will!

Catalonia Royal Bavaro: Darling Resort

The staff and service at this resort is absolutely amazing. We waited for nothing. We even recognized staff from when we were there two years ago. This is our very first time going to the same resort twice and it did not disappoint. The rooms are dated, but are very adequate. The service and food out weigh the dated rooms.

Our dietary restrictions were well accommodated . Getting around the property was easy thanks to well-maintained pathways, and a shuttle service that was quick, reliable, and plentiful. What truly set this resort apart, however, was the staff. From arrival to departure, every interaction was marked by warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality. Their attentiveness and friendliness elevated the entire experience. This is a resort we recommend without hesitation — for relaxation, celebration, or simply soaking up the Caribbean sun in style.

Occidental Caribe: Beautiful Beach

While this hotel is very large and the staff are wonderful, there is areas of the hotel that are run down. We had issues in our room the first night with water dripping from the ceiling in the washroom. We were moved to another room after many trips of going to the front desk and complaining. It was only when I spoke to a butler named Juan Carlos that we actually were moved to another room. He is the one that did everything possible to make our stay amazing. The grab bars in the elevator were protruding out of the wall and one night it actually got ripped off and it was hung there for a day before someone actually removed it leaving two gaping metal holes on the wall. Food was amazing. A huge selection. I had to get up early to save beach chairs if I wanted some as they got taken up early. There is a lot though. But I stay here again? For the price probably not. If I got a good deal maybe yes. Another issue we ran into was my husband and I both got very sick 3 days before our trip was over. We ended up with a respiratory illness. With the amount of people touching the same utensils in the buffet, it's bound to happen. I would much prefer the food being served so only one person touches the utensils. I know higher end resorts have this way of doing things.

Punta Cana Princess: Beautiful Beach and Great Staff

The grounds and beach are well maintained. The food is good and the staff are great. The rooms are in dire need of updates but bearable based on the limited amount of time spent in the room. There was a couple of problems with leaking pipes and lack of hot water several times.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Great Resort

Great hotel and atmosphere. We also had great weather! Entertainment was really good and we always had great service! I would definitely recommend this hotel and location to future people who want to travel. It was worth the price!

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Pretty resort for a chill vacation

We had been here 6 years ago when it was owned by GrBajPrpe so were interested to see the changes. Still remains one of the most pictuesque resorts I have been. Very concise layout allows easy settle in. Recommend Seaview room.Sunrises are amazing as you look out from the raised peninsula setting. Activities are scarce. You need to instigate your own fun as it is a smaller resort. Food and drinks were decent though a bit diminished from the GrBajPrpe standard. An example is Expresso Martini were [... read more] an extra charge. We did enjoy the Brandy Alexanders every night though.I walked to the town alone and went to a pharmacy to get Sunscreen. Only 1km away. Felt quite comfortable. If I was with a buddy I likely would explore Samana more. Seems like a nice little town.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Puerto Plata

The hotel was lovely and clean. Pool was a little cool for me, but beautiful. The beach was really nice with all its little trees that provided shade and a lovely breeze. The food areas were clean spacious. The food was ok, not my cup of tea, but always something there to enjoy. The buffet staff didn't look too happy to be there and didn't rush to look after us. The grounds, entertainment and lobby staff were quite friendly. Overall it was pretty good.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: BEAUTIFUL RESORT

The hotel and food was great except my husband getting food poisoning the day we were leaving from eating a pre-made mini sandwich at the buffet. Only took15 minutes and he was vomiting and diarrhea. Took 2 days to recover. Getting up at 5.30 am to get a chair in the shade was ridiculous. People would not sit in them all morning as they spent the morning at the beach. We were told the second day by a guest that if you want to secure a chair you pay the pool guys. He said thats just the  [... read more]way it is.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: good place to visit

The staff at the resort were very friendly and helpful. The pool and beach areas were terrific with plenty of sun loungers for all. I was disappointed with the lack of food variety on the buffets especially at lunch time. The ala carte restaurants were good. I would recommend the resort, but with a stipulation about the lack of variety for the food.

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: WestJet trip to Eurostars Grand Cayacoa

It is a very old hotel while the entrance is majestic the rooms need some renovations. Their septic system is not quite functional had a wrenching odour for a few days. Toilet paper must be put in a garbage can and the tub/shower needs to be clean and modernized. The elevator was not functioning intermittently . Every floor should be numbered outside the elevator so we know which floor we are on, cant trust the elevator. The food was good but very repetitive, lots of pork. Gravy is not gluten fr [... read more]ee and few GF choices other than salads or fruit. You definitely have to have good Spanish as almost everywhere not much English or French spoken. Need to use you hands a lot. WestJet was yet another experience. Packed like sardines, toilets not functioning properly and the food sucks. Mostly senior citizens were on our flight couldn’t pass each other in the isles very cramped and no business class available.
