4/5 stars!!! -Relaxing one week getaway -Great for young families and couples -I appreciated the small scale resort-different -Food was great and staff were wonderful -Rooms were clean but somewhat dated -Really enjoyed the dancing and entertainment on the beach during the evening; day time activities provided on Beach and by pool -Loved the two times we had lunch (paella)made and served in the Beach -loved the fruit and veggie in a cup made available at food truck by the pool and the  [... read more]juice stand on the beach-real fruit and veggie juices -FYI- late March and early April, anywhere you go on the Carribean side...watch out for the seaweed...was a little disappointing especially when we were awaiting to see Maroma Beach which was rated as one of ten most beautiful beaches in the world -thanks Catalonia!

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Wonderful Resort !

This resort is amazing. From the amazing food and restaurants to the fine attention to detail of the grounds. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I have been to this resort twice and have been recommending it to friends and family since. Thank you Azul Fives for the great vacation .

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Beautiful resort

Lovely, clean rooms, could use dehumidifer. Mayan people beautiful, helpful and hard working. Warm waters, cool sand, a small swimming area with some rocks, lots of sea weed but they do a great job racking it up. Spacious Pools and good food. Enjoyed my visit. Would give it 8 out of 10.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Great stay overall

We stayed @ Grand Bahia Principe Tulum from April 11-18th with a group of 12, 6 Adults and 6 children. Overall our stay was great, very nice place and huge....lots to do but we had some issue during our stay. My wife, my nephew and my older brother got sick with very bad vomiting and diarrhea, it’s likely the food from the buffet at Tulum main lobby area. But I have to say in general the food is good especially @ the snack bar and the la cartes. Booking the la cartes is a very slow process a [... read more]nd my experience with one of booking staff was not good ( long story). Overall the staff @ Tulum and Coba is very nice, friendly and they work very hard to entertain you. The rooms at Tulum was nice but shower door, phone and TV was faulty. My biggest disappointment is the BEACH, lots of seaweeds at the time, lots of rocks most part where you cannot swim and just a small area was designed to swim. We will go back to Grand Bahia Principe in Mexico but not in a hurry.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Excellent place to go.

If you like big resorts, this is the place for you. Many activities possible on the resort itself as well as outside the resort. You can visit a few places by taking the collector bus which is very easy and inexpensive. The food is fantastic, the place is very clean, the employees very nice and helpful. Wonderful vacation spent with my family.

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Wonderful resort.

We loved this resort. Had a great time. Grounds were beautiful. Very well maintained. Excellent service. Very friendly staff. I would highly recommend a swim up room. We were in building five. In my opinion the best section of the resort. We stayed there most of the time. Beach was beautiful. Very rough though. We only spent one day on the beach. Our swim up pool was so much fun. The main pool was beautiful with two swim up bars. You could walk to all the restaurants. Nothing was far. But there were golf carts if you wanted a ride. I can't say enough we had a great time. Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Not for those seeking adults only

Great beach and the restaurants are good if you can stand screaming kids. Room service not good we had to call for towels almost daily. The morning we left we ordered breakfast from room service it never came, we called for the bell boy but thirty minutes later we had to struggle with our own suit case up three floors to the lobby with my wife having a broken arm. This was our second visit to this resort but standards have really slipped in six months so we will be looking elsewhere in future.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Worth the money

All in all it was a great resort! Food was plentiful and good. The location was great and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The only negatives and there not that bad is that the resort is very busy. Maybe because it was the easter long weekend. The water along the shoreline on the beach was almost unusable. We were told it was a seasonal problem with weeds. About 40 feet into the water and several feet thick. Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Won't return there!!!

The staff is great.. The a la carte restaurants are awesome. Our room was great but had a horrible musty mold smell. Had to cover our nose all night. Beach had 4 feet high and 10 feet back of weeds!!!

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great Resort

Just returned this week from 7 nights at the Bahia Principe Coba. The resort is beautiful, they food was great and the people were very nice. Only problem we had was that we had difficulty booking restaurant any earlier than 8:30. Everything was already booked up. We did get to eat at the Brazilian Restaurant Gran Tortuga. The food was delicious. I would recommend it. Coba is not on the beach so you have to go through either Tulum or Akumal to get to the beach. The water was very rough and t [... read more]here was a lot of seaweed. If you are going for the beach I wouldn't recommend this resort. We had fun by the pools though. I recommend the Ek Balam Ruins and Mayan Cenotes excursion, lots of history and amazing cites,food and adventure. This excursion came with a free snorkeling adventure but I wouldn't recommend this the people that run this are very inexperienced we had two incidents that proved this.

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Amazing Resort with friendly staff

This vacation was one of kind. Staff was very friendly the minute we got there and continued throughout the week. The sushi bar was amazing. The food was great whether the buffet or the a la cartes. Can't forget that Maria was the best server/bartender on the beach!! We would definitely recommend this resort to everyone.

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Trip of a lifetime!

Amazing! I loved everything about this resort. The rooms where beautiful and spacious. The food was to die for, from the a la cartes, to the buffets, to sushi bar... all on point! The service was great, absolutely no complaints. The drinks were delicious, which I tested many kinds during my stay haha. The beach was the best I've ever seen! The spa was awesome, clean, serene, and soothing. I had a massage (honestly the best I've ever had). Hmm what else.. Oh yes, the disco was allot of fun too! I [... read more] was on vacation here for a wedding and wasn't my first destination wedding experience and I do have to say that this one was my favorite venue wise. It was private on an elevated beach, very intimate, and the night was so much fun as we were secluded outside from the rest of the resort and didn't have to worry about making noise. All in all, this place is so great!

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Great Resort but very Europe Artzy

Hotel was fantastic. Different in the sence of new Art decorated rooms but everything was great. Beach was great but not a lot of swimming area but very warm water. food very good except steak house myself and others all complained it was not a great meal. The Japannese hibachi was one of the greatest shows and audience participation ive had at the dinner. They brought in a great fire show and the breakdancing team from mexico was one of the greatest teams ive ever seen. Only complaint was [... read more] the free trip to Playa Del Carman by Nexustours which was very misleading and we all thought we were being robbed or something. The one tour guide from Nexustours on that day were very misleading.

Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya: Great stay!

This resort is small. I loved the idea of no bracelets or reservations. Pools stayed open till 11. The beach is small lots of seaweed. The chairs on the beach are booked by 7am which is a downer. Food was great. Rooms were clean staff treated you well.

The resort is not too big. was beautiful, the rooms were comfortable and well stocked. High end a la carte restaurants and impressive buffets. Friendly, helpful staff. It was the cleanest resort I have been to The beach was nice Enough pools

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Amazing resort

It's a small resort, but you have everything you want. The rooms, the grounds are very clean, the food a very good variety. Best of all you can go snorkelling and see some 🐢, the entertainment is also good. The staff are very friendly and are always ready to help you make sure you have everything you need. Excellent resort, so far one of the best.

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Pretty awesome

This was a great resort. A sushi bar on the beach, nice rooms, cool staff, good drinks. All around noiiice. My only complaints are that you they didn't allow reservations for the a la carte restaurants. That was fine if your two people but any group over 5 couldn't get in for a good 1.5 hours (which is like, at least 2.5 hours in Mexican time). Also, there's too many stairs at the disco. Really though, who puts so many stairs in front of a bunch of drunks. Might as well make me climb a la [... read more]dder. I definitely fell down one or two. It's a good thing I didn't feel a thing amiright?! With that out of the way, turtles and sting rays at the beach and whatnot (bring your snorkel gear). The one day, I followed Crush from Finding Nemo for like 2.5 Mexican hours until I sobered up and realized it was just a rock. The drinks tasted like heaven and Maria was always there with a tray of like 12. She was great! There's smaller pools in front of the rooms that you can spend the day in (if you feel like being away from the pool or the beach) and that you can stop to pee in on your way to the room. There's also beds outside that you can sleep on when you forget your room number (How convenient!). I had almost as fun at that resort as I did writing this review. What a fantastic week. I want to go back but my boss won't let me :( I would recommend this hotel to anybody. It's just a shame it'll never be the same after we were through with it. Cheers!

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Amazing Experience !!

All in all this resort was amazing! We attended a wedding and the services were great! All 27 of us were very well accommodated. The beach was beautiful and well maintained despite the crazy amounts of daily seaweed that rolled in. The turtles and snorkelling were beautiful. The food was good and the staff was very polite. Also they changed our bed sheets and comforter covers everyday, which was very pleasantly surprising since they don't even do that in Canada. The only complaint I have [... read more] is that the washroom was very open concept. The shower is small but not cramped and where the toilet is it sort of feels like you're in a public bathroom stall. The doors to the toilet don't leave much to the imagination so I recommend only traveling to the resort if you're comfortable with the other person. (You can hear everything) Other than that I rate this resort a 5 star because my experience was 100% positive and wonderful!

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Good for families, not good for an adult couple wishing for a quiet, relaxing vacation

The resort is very pretty, well decorated, and clean. Staff were mostly very friendly, and the food was pretty good! This resort would be great for families as there is a lot for kids to do. However, traveling as a couple that prefers a quiet, relaxing vacation, this resort is not the right one. There is no "quiet" space in the entire resort. All pools have loud music, and are quite crowded. There is an adults only building/pool, however it is also really quite loud and rowdy. We would not r [... read more]eturn to this resort due to this as we prefer a quiet, relaxing vacation. We even asked to be transferred to another resort, however, the Sunquest rep would not return our calls. One thing that was a bit odd compared to other resorts is that they make you line up to be seated at the buffet. This was generally quite annoying as it took a long time to be seated, and is not done at other resorts that we have been to.
