Grand Sunset Princess: Very large resort

This resort is not for anyone with mobility issues. With 2000 rooms it has an extreme amount of walking. Rooms are great, food less than great, beach pretty but has an odour due to the seaweed. Platinum area was worth the upgrade.

Barcelo Maya Caribe: Rating this resort a 7/10

I feel like this resort is really beautiful, but it is extremely huge, or should I say massive. If you don’t mind doing a lot of walking and you have kids then this is a fantastic place(for the most part). As there’s so much for them to do. Yes it has a bus that takes you around but it comes every 30 minutes which is a waste of time to wait for it. The food is not the greatest, the buffet food was not very warm and a lot of the times it didn’t look/taste fresh. Our bathroom light was flickering and our sink was clogged upon arrival. Almost all the staff did not know any English so asking for directions/questions was nearly impossible unless you went all the way to the front desk. Strikers bar food was absolutely terrible, it’s not even worth trying. The resort was so big that it felt so empty, I went from Nov 9- Nov 16 and we were wondering where everyone was. The nightly entertainment was very bad. I feel that they need to interact more with the audience and get us involved as it makes the experience more personal and enjoyable. they had one called “ideal couple” which I heard was their only good show for the week, and I’m sad that we couldn’t attend because we couldn’t find the place. At the end of our trip we heard you can download an app that will tell you the show times and locations which is more helpful and I would reconnect downloading before going. I’m not a very picky person, in my mid 20’s and am very active but this was a little too much walking for my liking while on Vaykay. Even finding the pool bars or best nightly entertainment was a struggle. I’ve been to many other all inclusive resorts and mexico and this was probably one of the worst ones. My boyfriend also did get sick when he was down there. Don’t get me wrong you may go and have an amazing time, unfortunately there was a lot of downfalls to this trip for my boyfriend and I.

Ocean Maya Royale: Nice Resort

The hotel was very nice. Food was good...enough variety for everyone. Disappointed when we tried to order room service and it was closed at 11pm?? Our welcome book showed late night limited menu 23:00pm - 6:00/7:00am...yet told it was closed. Floors were very very slippery when wet and large puddles up over our ankles on pathways. We had no choice but to go thru them. But we made the best of it!! Very clean rooms!

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: We Had Fun

The resort is beautiful,the pools are large and each one has good features, bubbling lounges or jacquzi , swim up bar and love the adults only, very quiet and the kiddi pool. The lounges need replacing alot of them are worn out. It was very nice that the waiter would take your drink order right at your chair. The beach was ok, not the blue that I like but oh well! Blue Moon romantic is a smaller cozy place for couples. All the drinks were good, Mimosas for breakfast every morning! The shows were excellent, enjoyed the lobby bar as well. Rooms were nice however it rained alot at night and we had water coming into the closet on the third floor so we moved to a different room. The beds are hard and not very comfortable, they need new mattresses as both rooms were the same, the maids did a good job. Good sound proof in rooms didnt hear anybody else. Golden Parnassus Resort & Spa: Not realy what we expected ...

Negative: The rooms are very noisy, during the night and early in the morning. The room smells musty. No internet- You have to pay $ 53 /day for the internet. In the morning for breakfast not too many choices; it is the same every day. Not too many activities on the resort for younger people. Positive: Beautiful beach, smooth sand, clean... and the bars are close to the beach and pool. Very teasty food in the Restaurants, however, the same menu. Good service

Sunscape Sabor Cozumel: Sunscape Sabor

This is our third time at the hotel. The first time I was not too impressed. It is a 3 star hotel. During our second visit, things were improving. But this time, not as good. Our room needs a lot of work. Everything is old and run down. Very simple. We were travelling with a f group and both of them had leaks in their rooms. It rained a lot while we were there and water came in and soaked beds, floors. One couple was offered another room, the other person was offered a room, but it was in worse  [... read more]condition than the first. Even the lobby roof leaked! Beach is okay, pool fine. Restaurants were fine, nothing fancy. Not much entertainment at night. Staff is ok, but not extraordinary! Don't think we will ever go back.

Occidental Cozumel: Good resort but left some things to be desired

The room was decent BUT mini fridge only stocked every other day The food was good BUT the variety was poor, lunch was pretty much the same every day, omelette bar was awesome at breakfast The evening entertainment was not as good as I had hoped for BUT some neat things were seen The daily activities were pushed hard at the activity pool but were still pretty much the same every day There is no alcohol served before NOON...so if you plan to drink from dawn til dawn...not this resort Not th [... read more]e best reef to snorkel on but there were still some fish The beach was good and sandy BUT hard to find shade and keep it (no palapas or umbrellas on the beach but there were umbrellas at the pools) Overall, consider whether you want a small, remote resort or a big partying resort

Grand Park Royal Cozumel: great vacation

We were a little put off the first day as we arrived at 11am and had to wait until 3pm to check in. I could have understood this if the resort was busy or full but it wasn't, we were able to change into some shorts and enjoy the resort, however after a long day of traveling you just want to unpack and start relaxing. Got in the room, very nice, all you need, I found the bed hard, wife loved it. Great view of the ocean. Fridge was filled daily with water, pop and beer. Maid service did a grea [... read more]t job but were very random. We dive every morning and would come back late in the day to rest and they always wanted to clean the room late in the afternoon. We don't need the room cleaned everyday so it wasn't a big deal to us but wished they would have cleaned the rooms in the mornings. We did have a lot of rain the week we went and this in not the resorts issue, but they did supply umbrellas in areas that you could use and that was a nice touch. Buffet was good lots of choices but fairly standard and not always the hottest (we did not starve!!!), best night was the Texmex. The 3 other restaurants have changed and do not require reservations anymore, first come first serve. The Italian was very good!! 3 pools, hot tub and lots of beach chairs and beds. Everyone on the resort was very nice and accommodating and were generally concerned that you were happy and having a good time always saying good morning, hello, etc. This was not our first trip to this resort and we could see and feel improvements from our last trip just 6 months ago. We will be back. Thanks to all the staff of the Grand Park Royal Luxury Resort for a great week, keep up the good work and we hope to see you soon.

Sunscape Puerto Vallarta: Great location

Hotel is very old, and is showing its age. That being said the staff and location are amazing. Food was just okay, lack of air conditioning in the food areas, even indoor venues made dining a bit uncomfortable. Rooms were also showing their age and again air conditioning was not great.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Very Satisfied

Greeted by the bell boys immediately after exiting my transport from the airport. They took my luggage gave me a tag and I checked in. Very fast and simple check in. Explained the grounds and amenities to me. Then I was escorted to my room. Beautiful, clean and exactly as depicted on the website. I was close to the beach and pool area. Pool area was beautiful and clean. Only downfall was no service from the wait staff around the pool for service. Was no one to offer a drink in my 7 days there. I [... read more]f you want something you go get it. Difficult at times when you are traveling alone. The beach was nice, lots of seating available. Restaurants buffet especially was fantastic.The Wai staff, all male , was very attentive to everyone and their needs. Very clean and always offered hand sanitizer when entering the food area. I definitely will be back. I felt safe as a female traveling alone and always felt looked after and treated well.

Ocean Maya Royale: Relaxing vacation

The staff were amazing expecial Margarita. And the food was okay at the buffet and extremely good at the a la cart restaurants. The drinks choices were good and the waiters were quick to serve you. Overall the resort was clean and welcoming.

Sunscape Sabor Cozumel: Disappointed

The rooms were not in good shape, the food was good, service mediocre at best. Not much more to say, there are a few good people at the resort. Two members of our party had to move rooms because it rained and the rain came in their rooms.

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Classy Resort with Exceptional Staff

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita is a great value for a super clean, classy resort with good food and exceptional staff. We were impressed with the incredible service levels, professionalism, and friendliness of the staff in all areas of the resort. Guests needs are tended to with a smile, and the resort and rooms are impeccably maintained by the maids and cleaning staff. Entertainment team was fun and worked very hard. We also enjoyed spectacular sunsets with a cocktail every night. It was a great vacation! We would highly recommend this resort. Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Amazing Resort

This was a 5th time to Mexico, and this resort is tops. It is very large, but you don't feel crowded. It has something for everyone. The beach is fantastic, but the waves were very high when we were there. This is absolutely the cleanest resort we have been to. Rooms were spotless, and the grounds are amazing. The people are super friendly and we have to give a shoot out to Fanny. She was a server that put on a lot of miles running drinks back and forth for us at the pool.  [... read more]We went to the Steak House twice, but there was no availability at the Italian Restaurant in the entire 10 days we were there. The Steak House was excellent, but you can get Steak or Italian Food at any of the buffets every day, so we don`t feel we missed out at all. I would recommend this resort to any age group and from families with children to couples or singles. You won`t go wrong.

Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta: A great weeks stay!

Grounds, pools and area were fantastic. The coffee shop two doors down from our 41118 swim up room was perfect. I suspect that 41117 would be a nicer swim up room as it is isolated in the corner and gets great shade.. drawback being the loud noises from the cafe next door. Food options were somewhat limited compared to other resorts and some (Japanese) are only open certain days. Do watch some of the restaurants as some will forbid those with plastic flip flops. We only did the infinity pool with the swimup bar as we had our own pool.It was nice to hang over the edge and look at the ocean. For those who shop there is a OXXO right outside the front resort entrance and also a pharmacy. There is also a Mega shopping store nearby (groceries) and 10 minutes towards Puerto Vallarta there is a huge walmart. My only complaint is that no matter how busy the resort was, or on some days was not, there were NEVER enough staff and they all worked extra hard and had to run around.

Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya: Amazing staff...outdated hotel

The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. The resort is very dated...although clean. We were expecting more as other hotels in this chain are very upscale...this is a 3 star hotel with 5 star staff. Food...buffet and al a carte...was just ok...not hot...just warm. Location is good for walking g around the marina with the shops and bars...but far from anywhere else. Included golf comes with many fees...was cheaper to book on golf app.

Royalton CHIC Cancun: not 5-star

The public spaces in this resort, eg. the pool area, the beach area, all of the sitting areas and the restaurants, were always crowded. Service was inattentive, perhaps because it was so crowded. This resort is small and well-located and our room was very nice with a spectacular view of the ocean. The beach and ocean were beautiful. Despite being a new resort, some of the infrastructure was already in disrepair. The public washrooms were useless. The water flow to the toilets were so inadequate, [... read more] even toilet paper does not flush properly. There were two pools, one dedicated to "diamond club" and the other to the rest of the plebs. It was woefully small. It is not likely I will will be returning to this resort.

Hacienda Buenaventura Hotel and Mexican Charm: charming and traditional,

this was my 3 rd visit in 17 years , absolutely nothing has changed , not that it needed change . All of the staff were fabulous , friendly and happy . Food was traditional Mexican with a nice option for an upgrade at no charge with the all inclusive pass .

Riu Flamingos: Not that great

The rooms are okay although we tried on three different occasions to get our safe unlocked (it was not able to be used from the get go) and never managed to get them to come to the room to fix it so we never had the use of the safe. We went with a party of 8 age ranges from 17 to 80. The very worst part was the pool although it says there's a kids pool don't be fooled both the pools are kids pools and there are a LOT of kids there in the pool with soggy diapers on, jumping and splashing when [... read more] you're just trying to relax. There's more kids at the swim up bar than adults and it's very hard to get up there to get a drink. There is no poolside drink service. The pool also feels gritty on the bottom and if you swim through the water you get hair caught in your fingers. The kids are everywhere when you try to have an adult game of volleyball the kids are swimming between your legs and all over the place. The food at the resort is pretty good especially the Italian restaurant, at the steak house don't order the top sirloin it's really tough but the food was good and it's nice not to have to make reservations. Most of the staff are not that friendly unless you jiggle your boobs in their face then it seems to be effective from what I saw. Overall I would definitely pass on this resort, I've stayed at other RIU properties and this one is by far the worst.

Moon Palace Cancun: Overall Good Experience Aside From...

Hotel staff, excellent, food... 8/10, Suit comfort: 6/10. After the short but taxing travel from Toronto to Cancun with our 1.5 year old, we were greeted pleasantly during our checkin. Unfortunately we had to wait 40 minutes outside our suit because our bracelet door locks didnt work. Turned out that the door somehow shut itself and the safety chain flipped into its slot?!.. After 40 minutes the door was finally opened. Once we did get into out suit, my side of the king bed felt like it dropped [... read more] into the floor below (exaggerated of course) but the springs were clearly worn out. We're not the type that like to complain, but having my 1.5 in a soiled diaper, family hangry, and the rain made the perfect storm. We asked if we can order room service from our bell man after we made it in, he said of course, download the app and or turn to our smart tv app. After he left we immediately looked into this and unfortunately NEITHER of them worked, so we patiently waited for dinner service. Lucky we had milk in a thermos for the little guy and some snacks in our backpacks. The rainbow/silver lining during all of this was after they investigated the situation, they offered my wife a spa treatment to melt some of her frustration away :) Happy wife, happy life we all say. We had arrived for a wedding, which was beautiful under the weather conditions we had. Would have been nice to have the childrens play/ water slide area open, but it wasn't. This was our little guys first 'sun' vacation experience, although we feel he had fun, but his experience could have been 10x more enjoyable we felt with further exciting memories & captured moments. We've been to two other Riu resorts, @ Dominican Republic & Jamaica, both were over the top phenomenal experiences. But Cancun Moon Palace Sunrise definitely fell below our expectations being a 5star restore. The last domino's to tip over were the batches of seaweed and diluted caribbean sea with sediment which no one stepped into. (As in, NO one was on the beach at all) Over all, disappointment would be an understatement for our first experience as a little family. Our lack of research on the part of the beach/ seaweed we take ownership of, but it would have been appreciated if Palace Resorts offered day pass or travel options to their sister resorts where enclosed or clear beaches were available. Cheers to safe travels to all, hope our experience will shed some highlights and checkpoints to tick off before you finalize your booking.
