Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Heavenly Beach
Our first time in Cuba, and first all inclusive. Resort was beautiful, clean, and had amazing friendly staff for the most part. GreT pools, beach. Could use a few more chairs at the beach. Avoid a la carte restaurants. These were a big disappointment. At the buffet stick to hot food stations where they cook it while you wait. These were much better than the main buffet selections. Loved Mikes coffee shop. Enjoyed cappuccino 24/7.
Playa Luxury Cayo Las Brujas: Great relaxing resort...but...
The place is very well kept, the beaches are beautiful especially the private beach. Pool was beautiful and lawn chairs always available. The staff are amazing and service is great. Coffee and drinks were very satisfying. The oceanview room was just perfect. I really loved this place, so dont take my negatives to seriously. If they worked on these small issues it would have been perfect. The negatives: No french fries and bacon that doesn't taste like bacon available 2 days during our week [... read more]
Valentin Perla Blanca: Great resort!
The beach is phenomenal, food was really good, and the weather was amazing! We had a small leak from our air conditioning and the maid had it fixed before we even had the chance to report it. Amazing!
Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Great resort
We found the sanctuary part of the resort very nice,Service was excellent and the grounds, pool and beach area were great. The only issue was a shortage of staples like potatoes, mushrooms and even beer and cola on occasion the butler service was a definite bonus and we were delayed both ways this was indeed frustrating not sure we will use this carrier next trip . We however enjoyed our vacation and are happy with Trip Central
Playa Luxury Cayo Las Brujas: quaint resort - quiet
Angsana Cayo Santa Maria is an average resort. The beach is small but lovely as are the two pools. There is not much to do at this resort so if you are looking for complete relaxation you will enjoy it. They ran out of sparkling water while I was there which was unfortunate. The gym is small and one of the two tread mills did not work.
Hotel Atlantico: 5 STAR BEACH, 1 STAR RESORT
THE FOLLOWING IS BASED ON OUR OBSERVATION AND CONVERSATIONS WITH MANY OTHER GUESTS WE SPOKE WITH IN GENERAL CONVERSATIONS: 1. FOOD WAS THE SAME ALL DAY EVERYDAY 2. PEOPLE SERVING US WERE NOT TOO INTERESTED. IT SEEMED LIKE WE WERE BOTHERING THEM WHEN WE ASKED FOR SOMETHING. 3. RESORT OVERALL WAS DELAPIDATED AND WOULD NEED MAJOR IMPROVEMENTS. 4. SUNWING REP WASN'T VERY KNOWLEDGABLE. WE HAD TO POINT OUT PLACES OF INTEREST. 5. BEACH WAS FABULOUS. ** THE 2 STARS BELOW IS FOR THE POOL. WE'VE [... read more]
Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo, Cuba
My husband and I went to the Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo, in Cuba, for one week. When you get there you are asked to make a deposit on your pool towels, which you will get back when you leave. We found the staff to be quite friendly. The resort and our room was kept tidy and clean. Toilet paper is hard to come by here, try not to use too much too fast. When our room towels were dirty we put them in a pile on the bathroom floor and they were replaced with new ones. If you replace them in the towe [... read more]
Starfish Tropical Cayo Santa Maria: Awesome vacation
I really enjoyed my trip. The food was very, very tasty. There was a selection of different foods, you would always find something very satisfying. The rooms were very spacious and clean. The beach was phenomenal! Only one disappointment, I found the majority of staff in the buffets, lobby and à la carte could not understand english or french. In all fairness, we are in their country and it should be up to the visitor to know the language of the country you are visiting, but it is the first [... read more]
Hotel Playa Coco: the beach was amazing!!!
The only complaint l have is that our room was very musty smelling. Also the bathroom toilet did not always work. The food was good. The Japanese restaurant was our favourite al a carte. We also enjoyed the beer house but it was hard to tell if it was opened. The pools were nice and clean but they ran out of beer at the quiet pool. l guess they want to keep it quiet. The buffet was small but very good. Had lots of fish, chicken and pork.. Wine was served with meals. The staff was friendly and hel [... read more]
Memories Paraiso: Great food!
Fantastic beach, turquoise water, and lots of things to see and do. Buffet was excellent! Lots of choices and fresh fruit! There was a beautiful Cuban restaurant. Entertainment every night! We had a shopping plaza next door. Buildings need a little more maintenance. Room service was an issue. They ran out of towels and the mini bar was not filled every day. Overall we had a great trip!!!
Valentin Perla Blanca: Beautiful beach
Wow. What a beach. Located beside a nature reserve, the beach stretched on and on and on. Gorgeous setting. Food was typical Cuba, not the greatest but who cares with scenery like this. The two hour bus ride was long after arriving at dusk but coming back the view was lovely at the front of the bus. All in all, wonderful Cuban people, great beach, nice pool set-up. We would recommend this hotel indeed.
Melia Las Americas: Amazing Adults Only Resort
Amazing adults only resort. Even though they were completely full didn’t feel like it. Always could find a lounger at the beach. Food was great. Always could find something we enjoyed. We had an amazing corner suite with ocean view. The lobby bar was the best place for drinks. The beach was beautiful!!
Valentin Perla Blanca: Disappointed
Definitely not a 4.5 star, more like a 3 at best. Resort in disrepair, lack of food and drinks. No white wine, ran out of beer every day. No toi IV or tomato juice. No soap or hand towels in washrooms. Missing toilet seats. Lobby furniture filthy and damaged. What food there was was terrible. Room fridge never stocked. I assure you we aren’t fussy but expected more.... never again!!
Roc Barlovento: Very good value for the miney
The beach was incomparable. The staff very good on the whole. The rooms were adequate. Food was good. Entertainment very good. They did run out of wine and rose was the only wine available , so that was disappointing as we don’t drink rum!
Paradisus Varadero: Worse resort/vacation ever
Paradisus Varadero: The worst vacation in 30 years. The resort is sub standard, in every way. The rooms look super cheap, terrible workmanship, etc, etc. Service is way below average. The workers (most, not all) look completely disinterested. Food is sub par, at best. No, it gets worse. There was a theft of my daughter's expensive cosmetics bag. We turned the room up-side down. Nothing. It took approx. 1 hour to complete an official security report. The next day, we leave our room at 9 [... read more]
Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Average resort
Great beach, clean grounds, but slow and dirty elevators. Upgrade to premium not really worth it. Staff and cleaners did their best. Great reception and check in service. Buffet restaurant always out of plates. Don't expect potatoes on the menu.
Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful Beach
The beach was beautiful and the weather perfect for Feb. The resort, Meh! First time to Cuba, and all the usual things were true. Food not so good. Beach was nice. We were not impressed enough to go back but I cant say it was an awful stay. There was nothing really to do but stay on the resort as most excursions were far and didn't look all that exciting. The pest fumigation at the end of our stay while we were waiting on our bus back to the airport was like being in a Oliver Stone movie as we wer [... read more]
Starfish Tropical Cayo Santa Maria: Ok resort
Felt like we had to tip or leave gifts to get adequate service. We didn’t get the room we booked and didn’t have any hot water in the shower. Not sure if Cuba is in our travel itinerary any time soon. So overall we weren’t satisfied unfortunately.
Occidental Arenas Blancas: Okay resort.
Occidental was a decent resort, somewhat welcoming but rooms lack comfort. Bed very uncomfortable and the room is still very humid despite air conditioned. Beaches are beautiful and drinks are okay. Food was hit and miss but we never went hungry. Check in was 4pm despite website stating it was 3pm. Some workers were very pleasant and others not so much, or very helpful. Snorkeling off the resort was okay, however those spending extra money for photos received extra attention. Therefore be prepar [... read more]
Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Definitely a home away from home.
Having been to Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca several times I must say it keeps getting better and better. There have been several upgrades on the resort but the constant year after year is the staff. The Cuban folks who work there make you feel like part of their family. The warm greetings and remembering your name even if you haven't visited for a couple of years. Sincere, honest and caring. That's what Club Amigo is all about. The pools, the ocean, the sun and sand, the snack bars an [... read more]
