Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Amazing Trip (9 out of 10)

It was such an amazing trip! The beach, pools, bars, Catamaran trip, beach party, staff, everything was so perfect! Except for food! Food needs to be worked on!! Staff were extremely nice! Weather in February was GREAT! Just a perfect trip!

Roc Arenas Doradas: Awesome time

The resort is smaller and low key, which was a positive for me. The staff was friendly. Breakfast and lunch were amazing. There's a bbq by the beach that has great offerings. Dinner was ok. The free bus to Varadero was great, and of course the beach was amazing! Lots of chairs available--no need to go down super early and secure the chairs like in other resorts. We stayed in a renovated villa, so showers were hot and the room was big and clean. Melia Cayo Coco: Good value for your money

The hotel is small enough, convenient to walk between different restaurants and facilities. The beach is amazing, with clean white sand and turquoise water. Staff everywhere are respectful, provide amazing services; an attestation to hotel management. Restaurants' food are average compared to other Caribbean islands, but the cook-to-order seafood/meat section in the buffet restaurant is tasty. Paradisus Varadero: NOT A FIVE STAR RESORT!

The grounds were clean, the staff friendly, however, the rooms were not renovated as indicated on the website--we changed rooms three times. The beach area was full of stones. The food was okay--not amazing. Not what we expected according to their website.

Gran Muthu Imperial: Great Time Gran Imperial

We wanted a quite time to rest, relax and just enjoy a good book, sun and sand, and we did at Gran Imperial The grounds, the public areas and rooms were very clean. The pool and swim up bars were great. Jessicia, made great strong drinks, Giobany were very helpful in the gym, very friendly staff. The only thing that I found was the beach area was a bit small however ten minutes down the street was a nice bigger beach you could go to spend the day, however you had to pay for food and chairs [... read more]. But still nice. The food in the International Room was great, over all you have to remember that Cuban food is not like Canadian or other West Indian Resorts, it is Cuba. The location is a bit far from everything, the nearest mall is about (1 hour and it takes you 5 minutes to go through it. Very small. But you go for the sun, beach and relaxation.

Melia Costa Rey: Not so great

This hotel has gone downhill in the last 2 years,it was our second trip,the grounds,beach and pools nice but service lacking in all areas,room cards did not work for 3 days,needed an escort to take you in when needed,ridiculous and no one could fix,buffet was not good and restaurants were just ok,i will not return

Melia Internacional: Good resort for cuba

The cigar and restaurant bartenders We’re the best, we left the beach just to get a drink from them, The lobby staff were not to friendly! Rooms were good. Not to far from town, could walk but taking a old car dab was the best!

Starfish Tropical Cayo Santa Maria: Good Resort

The place was starting to show its age. Everything was clean & maintained as well as they could. There was a bit of language barrier. The resort seemed short staffed or overbooked for the staff they had. The beach was amazing & great for a week of total R & R.

Club Amigo Marea Del Portillo: Loved it for years!

The staff here are extremely helpful and friendly. We stayed at the Farrilon this past February and our room was beautiful. The grounds are also well kept and colourful. The food is very basic but tasted great and we never went hungry! We didn't go on any excursions but loved scuba diving with Osvaldo.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Nice resort

The resort was in great shape visually. The ala carts were great. The hilltop restaurant was very nice. The miramar was amazing. The service was just okay. The entertainment was just okay. Running out of food and wine is absolutely not acceptable. This is an all inclusive I should not have to buy wine. We should have been told. The owners do not care and think of as many excuses as possible.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Great Stay!

We had a group of 8 stay at the PRDO feb 12-19. Aside from the perfect weather the resort was fantastic! The staff went out of their way to ensure we had a lovely time. Some reviews state the beach isn’t ideal but we all found it perfect! There are some rocks but you are still easily able to lounge and swim. The pool bar staff were fantastic, Lorenzo and Osmany in particular. Food was good! The Mediterranean was very delicious and the Japanese was such a fun experience. Sol Palmeras: Great Resort!

This is a smaller, older resort but great overall. We picked this resort beacause of the great reviews and the repeat customers. We had a standard room which was perfectly fine but please ensure to ask for a renovated room. They still have old standard rooms which are not up to par. Lots of selection to food and restaurants, including a BBQ grill at lunch and a snack bar on the beach. The al a carte restaurants were all great! We ate at the Latino, international, Italian, Chinese and the Tex Mex. Italian was our favourite but they were all good. Often people say the food in Cuba is bland, but we didn't experience this at this resort and this is our 4th time to Cuba. There were the odd times where they didn't have items as they ran out, but it was subsituted with something else if it was at the al a carte restaurants or if it was in the buffet, then usally the next day or two, they would have it. The beach at the resort is awesome....large and wide compared to other resorts next to us and there were no rocks. There are a lot of beach chairs and spacious palapas. Best of all no pedlars trying to sell you stuff on the beach. The hotel is in a great location, not to far from the town of Varadaro. We took a bus right outside the resort for 5 convertible Cuban pesos which is unlimited rides for the day as long as you keep the ticket. It was about a 15 minute ride to town. You can also walk to the Las Americas mall (5 minute walk) or take the free shuttle train from the resort. The resort also has bikes for free of charge but we didn't use them. The activities at this resort were standard and could have had more and better promoted. The evening consisted of singers or magicians, etc. in the lobby bar. We really enjoyed the open air roof top lounge off of the main lobby. They did have an outside stage for shows which we didn't attend. They have a very small gym with basic equipment but unfortunately wasn't air conditioned so it got very hot if you're doing cardio on the treadmill or elliptical machines. The staff at this resort were awesome...very friendly and always wanting to please. This made our stay very enjoyable. We would definitely recommend this resort.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: 2nd visit. Will be back again.

This resort, offers more than I could do in a 7 day trip. Keep in mind I'm there to relax and unwind. There is 7 hours of wifi included when you arrive, more than I required. The food is awesome for Cuba, it exceeds expectations. The entertainment staff, keep things lively considering how quiet the resort is. The vendors are polite and not pushy, they always make deal. Many people complain about missing creature comforts of home like chips, and condements, bring salt and pepper, and ketchup [... read more] packets, and individual peanut butter, if you are the things that will ruin your experience... The staff are always happy and many remembered me from my previous trip. If you have a question about what cigar is right for you, they have a fantastic Sommelier Aliens, he will be glad to help you! My maid Mariluz kept my room immaculate, and made impressive towel creations daily. I will return and I recommend you go.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Highly recommended

We were looking for a quiet place to relax and we found it! The room was perfect, clean and comfortable. The beach was amazing, soft sand to walk on, clear blue water and not overcrowded. Food was spectacular, wouldn't change a thing. The people are so friendly and just lovely. We had a great vacation.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Love the staff

The staff are what makes this resort beautiful. They are doing lots of renovations to make it better. The pools are great, amazing beach. The food is ok, not a lot of variety. They offer a lot of free activities during the day and entertainment at night

Iberostar Coral Holguin: Almost perfect

We've just returned from a week's stay at the Holguin Iberostar - Coral level. Overall, the resort and client care we experienced were exceptional... Rooms, pools and common spaces were modern and well kept. All personal services, from room cleaning to bar service, were thorough, friendly and generally efficient. Our only real disappointments were: 1) the beach...not oceanfront. Fresh fruit was sparse...mostly papaya and unripe watermelon. Many buffet and a la carte staples were missing or in extremely limited supply. If the food situation were to be improved upon...I would be confident to recommend this resort to friends and family.

Hotel Playa Coco: Hotel Playa Cayo Coco, Cuba

The grounds were really well kept. The beach was spectacular. The aLa Cartes were very good as well as the buffet. They had game rooms and playgrounds for the kids ( big and small) Staff was very friendly and helpful. Only thing was did not have hot water everyday , but I prefer cool when it’s hot outside anyways.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Wonderful friendly resort

Well kept grounds with friendly staff. Wonderful beach for great walks. A terrific little coffee bar that serves the best coffee.Lots to do or not do your choice. All of the staff were extremely helpful and were happy too help if you had any questions.

Resonance Blu Santa Maria: Very disappointed

This was my second time visiting this resort. Last time was about 4 years ago and wasnt too bad. This time it was very disappointing. There was no returning guest dinner or bottle of rum. Apparently some people do get it as my friend did this trip. Food was disgusting and cold and huge lack of food in general. The guests would near knock you over to get in front of you. The life guard spend his days flexing his muscles and exercising on beach and never seen him watching the water at all.
