Los Delfines: Great experience

The hotel is old and it is not perfect. But the wonderful staff make the experience memorable. Beautiful beach, great location. Food on par with any other Cuban resort. I have visited twice and will return

Playa Vista Azul: Great Holiday

The whole resort was kept very clean. The rooms were very modern and clean. The entertainment team were very friendly and fun. We had two days of rain so the team kept us entertained with bingo, games and then a live band. The grounds were kept very nicely and the gardeners were always busy. Because it is their winter in January they are repairing walkways that are cracked, painting steps - keeping the resort in excellent condition. We did not have a coffee maker in our room, but I am sure if we wanted one all we had to do was ask. Food in Cuba can be very bland, but honestly, this was the best food I have had in Cuba. They served a lot of the same stuff every day, but there was a lot of choice and you couldn`t go hungry. All in all I would recommend this resort and would definitely go back there again.

Memories Jibacoa: Very relaxing vacation

This was our sixth time at this resort. We really enjoy the small size of this adult resort. The staff is A one. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The food is good for Cuba. The only thing that we were disappointed about is the fact that now they have introduced the wearing of the plastic bracelets. These are just uncomfortable.

Punta Peninsula Varadero: A must go too resort

Our stay was perfect ! Staff like last time we're friendly, helpful and eager to please ;) All areas were clean, well stocked with paper towel bathroom tissue and soap in public washroom areas Our room was in the 1600 block which we requested prior to going ( through email Blau representative responded quickly ) on arrival they had us already booked into this area :) the room was clean and stocked with fresh towels also our beach towels were there waiting for us The shows were great an [... read more]d the disco was a hotspot that was a highlight for us Food was great. Melia Marina Varadero: good value, nice people

Appartments rooms outside the hotel are ok, quiet but some things didn't work properly there: the tv had a poor image and the porch screen door was missing, couldn't let fresh air in the room because buggs and mosquitos were waiting to fly in.

Sol Palmeras: Beautiful beach!!

I travel to Cuba three times a year but hadn't been to varadero for at least five. Beautiful beach as I remembered !! The hotel was nice. Room was dated but clean. They could use new beds but I did manage to sleep. I found the staff was very friendly and service was great. Did four al cart and food was awesome!!The Steak house was my favourite and service from Fidal was excellent!! The buffet I found to be the usual ... Pool is in need of repair ..missing tiles but was cleaned daily!! N [... read more]ever a problem for lounge chairs at the beach or pool. No issues with towels. Nightly entertainment in lobby was good. The only think that stops me from returning is the bed. If you don't mind a rock bed then you won't have any issues. I was in the main hotel on second floor. Great location. I did ask to see the bungalows in case I decided to return but I found them to be dated and also in need of repair. To sum it up... Playa Vista Azul: Best Resort yet

We purchased the Privilege Ocean Front Room deal and it was worth every penny spent.We can't give you a good review on the buffet as we only had one breakfast,lunch and dinner there. With the privilege pkge we went to the restaurant "Neptune" specifically for us and the food was amazing.Breakfast had lots of choices but we all had poached eggs as they were done to perfection. Dinner was in the restaurant "Neptune" and we had choices of lobster,chicken,salmon,pork and steak,all of which were amazing.Service was top notch for every meal we had. We ate in the Italian restaurant and our food was sent back as it was not hot.We received a whole new meal instead of just a warm up. Infinity pool beautiful looking out over the ocean.Beaches were a bit of a walk to get to but worth it.

Club Tropical: Loved it!!!!

Perfect place for a quiet retreat. Safe, clean, friendly. Beach is superb. We are world travellers and although my hubby could not come with me for the week, he knew Cuba is a great place for safety, so we booked a low key spot for me to unwind after a busy year with 6 grandchildren and a summer having two sets of children and grandchildren living with us after the evacuation of ft. Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: 5 Plus Stars at this luxury Varadero Resort

This was our 5th visit to this resort. We were here in 2015 and it was JUST AWFUL! Well 2 years later (and a new General Manager) has made all the difference. We were well received at check in and our butler took us to our room (1201) in the Diamond Club section of the resort. Later that night we met the new General Manager named Paulina. She asked us what room we were in and I told her, she replied with oh, I know who you are, my reservations manager said that was your favourite room so th [... read more]ey held it just for us! What a great way to start a holiday. Facility was fantastic...all new public washrooms, all public places/gardens/bars cleaned up and beautiful! The food here has improved a lot! For the first time in 10 years I could actually order the beef cooked to order and it was GREAT. Paulina is a wonderful G.M. and it shows everywhere. Good leadership can also be clearly seen by the happiness of the staff. Clearly this lady is doing everything she can to make this THE ONLY resort to stay in while in Varadero. All a la carte restaurants where excellent, but the Seafood and Italian ones took home our top honours. The day before we left a bottle of 7 year old rum appeared in our room with a lovely note thanking us for coming "back home" to vacation. I also received some chocolates and the G.M.'s personal business card where she extended to me an open invitation to contact her at any time! Now this is service. I don't mind paying extra so I'd recommend the Diamond Club if you want the all in experience of a luxury resort.

Melia Marina Varadero: Definitely Not A 5 Star resort!

This resort needs a lot of upgrades to meet my expectations as a 5 star. I have been visiting Cuba every year for the past 16 years, so I know what to expect from the country. My husband and I have travelled all over the island, as well as Cayo Largo. We also spoke to others staying at the resort, and the consencus seemed to be the same...... Our room, while being large and well set up, needed a lot of repairs to bring it up to standard. The grounds were pretty bare, and not what we are  [... read more]used to seeing at other resorts. The buffet was the same every day. Not a lot of variety of seafood at all. Three varieties of fish, and maybe shrimp twice a week! Not at all what we have been accustomed to, on an island in the Atlantic ocean!! Night life was practically non-existent. They had a Cuban band two or three nights that played all Spanish music, which was okay, but we were expecting the stage shows in an actual theatre setting. Anyhow, we would not go back there. We made the most of our week in the sun, and spent some time at the pool as the beach was not the greatest either. Very small and lots of kelp and seaweed.

Starfish Varadero: Get what you pay for

The resort is big and not well laid out They are trying to update / repair this resort .our stay there was ok and not much to complain about. No hot water first 2 days .but was working after that . Its one of those places that you have the best time you can while there ,but would not go back and not recommend to friend's

Melia Marina Varadero: Beautiful resort , beaches but not the food ...

The hotel was beautiful, modern and clean . I didn't find there were many shows or activities to do but definitely a good place to go relax . The only thing I didn't enjoy was the food . I couldn't find anything to eat and felt sick for most of time last few days ... I understand the country is not very wealthy but it would have been nice to have some good food for tourists while they are spending a week or more there . Overall the trip was a 7 out of 10 I'd say .

Palma Real: Needs improvement

Location was awesome. Beach was nice. Pools were nice. Staff were okay but not overly friendly nor helpful. Very hard to get pesos for tips. Hotel is rundown. Mold in certain areas. Towels in rooms stained and or with holes. Only change towels and sheets every 2-3 days. Plus our sheets had nasty stains...didn't even sleep directly on them. Drinks were not to my personnal liking...way too strong! Very hard to get a reservation at the à la carte restaurants but was better than buffet. It is a par [... read more]ty hotel so not great for everyone. Got accused of steeling a towel from the room when we checked out....cleaning lady didn't look properly. REALLY did not appreciate the accusation!! My worst vacation so far. Will NOT be going back here.

Starfish Jibacoa: Absolutely wonderful!

This is our fourth year staying at Villas Jibacoa and each year we love it more!!!The grounds are beautifully kept! The pool is new! The beach and snorkeling exceptional!!! The people of Cuba are wonderful hosts!!!

Melia Marina Varadero: Great time

The hotel is perfect for those who enjoy marina life as well as a beautiful beach, the room was big and very clean, the marina view and the sunrise every morning. The food was good and after Sunday they got more onions and made it tasty. The Latin restaurant was amazing. We really enjoy the shows at the lobby bar. Thanks

Muthu Playa Varadero: very nice resort

Staff was very friendly and kind. Rooms were well maintained and cleaned, food was great. All staff could not do enough for us, beaches were awesome and we'll looked after daily. We would definitely stay here again.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Disappointing=Paradisus Princesa Del Mar

Disappointing all around. Area outside of the Royal Suites area is a 3 star at best not a 5 star! Sand fleas on the beach are terrible making it unenjoyable and unuseable! No activities throughout the day around the pool, ran out of a lot of food and drinks on the third day of our arrival. A la carte restaurants were great! Rooms are outdated and smell, air conditioning doesn't work well, Housekeeping was poorly maintained, our room went a couple of days without service. Patio door lock [... read more] was broken and they tried to fix it with a chain lock! Areas of the resort need repairs. Pleasant and friendly service depended on you tipping.

Hotel Bella Costa: Great Time going again!

The Bella Costa staff was great and friendly. Food lots to pick from and the Special Restaurants at night were great. Must make reservations. The beaches were amazing! Did lots of traveling - Varadero markets great shopping, Catamaran great and the beach and lunch were amazing, Havana for the day was great, although too much to see in a day, got to go and stay a couple of days. Weather was great when I was there. All around a great vacation!!

Paradisus Varadero: WORST VACATION EVER

Sold as a 5 star resort, this was no more than a 3. During our 11 night package, we were 8 consecutive days without hot water before being finally changed to another room; had to walk back to the reception 4 times to re-magnetize our room key cards; had issues with those nasty fire ants (more than 80 burning and itchy bites to my body) and none of the swimming pools were warm enough to enjoy a good swim. Inspite our complaints to the reception desk, the Customer Service Representatives and our S [... read more]unwing Advisor, nothing changed until the Sunwing rep was lied to by the customer service people by being told, at day 5, that we had been taken care of and changed room; all hell broke loose after that... The only good thing for the first 8 days was our maid who did an excellent job. We also did not get the five à la carte restaurants promised in our package, just 4, because of lack of availability (not because we didn't try). Urinals in public washrooms not functional and unsanitary.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Great resort

The hotel was very clean. Staffs were very friendly. Amazing entertainment team. This was our 2nd time staying at the resort and what brought us back was the entertainment. We had lots of fun. Food can be improved more. More vegetarian options for those who are vegetarian. If you can make a area for smoking which is separate from non smoking area would be great.
