The Reserve at Paradisus Punta Cana: Beautiful Resort for Families!

We loved this resort - travelled as a couple with baby and grandparents. Stayed in two, one bedroom suites which were huge. We did not upgrade to family concierge. Beautiful grounds - easy to walk, above average AI food, excellent drinks, friendly customer service. Absolutely geared to families looking for a higher-end vacation - lots of well behaved kids and babies. The resort is one of the f [... read more]ew higher end resorts left that are not adults only so leave this one for the wee ones if children are bothersome to you :) Rooms are well appointed but can be incredibly noisy depending in how careless your neighbours are - bring a white noise machine for children (they could use some door silencers/jammers to prevent banging doors at all hours and some covers on chair bottom covers to prevent squealing chairs being dragged across suites). In addition there are about 20 light switches and two thermostats which can cause alot of frustration. Pool is huge/clean and ocean is lovely - shaded chairs are (almost) always available. Shuttle can take you to the beach - or you can walk (probably about 12 minute walk) - as a guest of The Reserve there is a private bar/washrooms and sectioned off part of the beach which is an awesome perk if you are a shade seeker/need shade for your little one! No problem booking a la cartes a few days in advance, just see the concierge in your building soon after you arrive. We enjoyed Vento, The Grill, and the teppanyaki the best! Enjoy!

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: great resort

It was well situated - no problem to get wherever we wanted with the train cart. Really enjoyed the entertainment - great shows every night. Food no problem and the employees were very qualified and made us feel very welcome at all time. Cleansiness impectable. The one thing I am not happy about -really not happy about is that we paid for 10 days and only got 8 days - I really think that those 2 days should have been added at the end of our holliday or at least received some refund or com [... read more]pensation for it. Between the 3 of us our trip cost 10,000.00 and only got to enjoy 8 days out of our 10 days. I think Trip Central should have done something about it or could still do something about it. On top of that we had to pay for 2 extra rooms one in Timmins 150.00 and one in Toronto 170.00 which I think trip Central should compensate us for.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Excellent resort

Everything was perfect.Room was very clean, staff friendly,huge resort but very beautiful.I strongly recomend it I'll return for sure.They have several pools located nearby.Bahia Principe Punta Cana is the best buffet for dinner.The beach was great I swam in the ocean every day.You don't to leave the resort complex,there isn't much to see outside of it and shopping is a distance away.

Grand Palladium Select Bavaro: Amazing Resort****

This resort is is 1 of 3 together, located at Bavaro Beach and IT IS THE BEST. I have stayed at the Palace also and the Bavaro is a 10. The rooms are very spacious with a balcony and you overlook luscious grounds that are very well maintained. The pool is great with a swim-up bar and the beach is one with soft white sand. Also lots of shade areas. Swimming is great, no rocks etc to surprise you in the water. Occassionally you have nice waves to jump thru with no undertoe and you can w [... read more]alk along the water's edge for miles, if that is your wish. The hotel staff is very friendly and always there to assist and help. In my opinion, the bavaro area is the area with the BEST BEACHES.

Riu Republica: Riu Republica - Paradise!

This resort was absolutely incredible!!! I would recommend it to anyone.. beautiful design, well laid out, amazing food and entertainment. The ocean was rough but it did not stop people from enjoing it! Planning to return!

Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort: complete package for large group of all ages

7 nights stay in building L ground floor room 212 week of Feb 6th 2017 Cocotal side. Party of 14 with 5 separate rooms. 3 kids ages 1.5, 2.5 & 6; 2 teenagers ages 14 & 16; 5 adult between ages 32 - 42, 4 senors between ages 60 - 65. 1 senor was in a wheelchair, 1 senor used a cane. (don't recommend this resort for those who have walking issues unless you become a VIP club member so you can use the shuttle service which is only offered to club members) Shuttle service: Must be VIP club mem [... read more]ber to use shuttle service - which we didn't know about until we arrived. My parents paid for 12 of us, so I complained and got my dad a ride twice down to the main pool. Resort grounds: Beautiful & clean. Large resort: - If you have no issue with walking, you will not have any issue with the walk from beach/main pool area to lounge/reception/main buffet area. The water park is about the same distant from the lounge area as it is from the lounge area to beach where the main pool is located too. It is about a 5-10 min walk to everything from middle of resort. - This is 2 resorts attached to each other like a mirror image. One side is called Cocotal and the other side is Tropical. The main building joins both resort receipt arenas and the main bar is right between them both. Down the middle of both lounge areas is the smoking area which is an open air area. - There was plenty of lounge seating on both sides which waitresses would come and bring you drinks often. There is a big screen TV to watch movies or sports games if you wish. Buffet dining: - Always got a table that fit all 14 of us and always found 2 high chairs for the 2 younger ones - Both sides have a huge buffet which had so much to choose from that you would have to be a very picky person not to find something good to eat each and every day for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Each night is a different theme night. - There are 2 more lunch buffets, one is at the main pool area down by the beach and has a full bar. The other lunch buffet is up at the water park where they serve beer/sodas and coffee/tea only. Breakfast - hot fresh omlete bar - fresh made smoothie bar - fresh fruit bar - fresh bread bar - dry cereal and hot oatmeal - peanut butter & natella was offered along with ketchup and mustard Lunch/dinner - fresh pasta bar, and several different selections of everything (veggies, rice, fish and meats) Dessert - breakfast, lunch and dinner had so many different desserts to choose A La carte dining: Jade (Japanese) was tasty and entertaining was ok to watch your chef cook your meal. Mexican - I really didn't like Mediterranean - my parents and son was disappointed in Italian - my bother, sister-in-law and their kids left before they finished their meals and joined us in the buffet as they didn't like it American - my brother and family really liked their meals Buffets - breakfast, lunch and dinner all was great and would rather have just eaten there each time. Rooms: For my mother who was in a wheel chair the bathroom wasn't very accommodating. rooms are dated and musty smelling (damp) all clothes came home damp and musty smelling - had to wash all clothes twice even if not dirty Pillows - very lumpy (I asked for 2 more pillows which they brought to me before nightfall. One was lumpy and the 2nd one was new and fluffy Beds - my room had hard beds but my brother had 2 very soft beds Balcony - Had a very nice view of gardens plus i could see the ocean when looking down side of building Building "L" - great location to stay - just steps from beach, mail pool and lunch buffet Beach: Well maintained and beautiful - never seen any seaweed build up on beach - no bad seaweed smell Loungers always available - there were times when we just used loungers that people had placed blue towels on to reserve and if anyone came by which they didn't we would have just moved to a different set. Water - warm with nice waves - corral reef was good for snorkeling but was a bit cloudy but got to see some beautiful yellow/black and blue/black fish along with some nice shells. Customer service: - When we checked in we realized that the building we all were booked into (building "L") was the farthest building away from the main dining buffet and lounge area and the shuttle service was for club members only and my parents can't walk as my mom is in a wheel chair and my dad can barely walk a few steps so we requested they be moved to the closest building to the lounge/dinner area. They were able to change their room within a few minutes. - Several times employees offered to help me push my mother in her wheel chair. - Requested 2 rooms to have a crib for the babies prior to arriving but didn't have any in the rooms when we arrived but within a few minutes of requesting them someone arrived on a bike with 1 and then back again within minutes with the 2nd one. - My toilet got plugged one day and I request service and it was dealt with prior to me arriving back to our room later in the day. - Our cleaning lady did a great job cleaning up our room and filling our fridge every day and making cute swans with our throw blankets - Some drunk guy got confused and broke out my sister's door cause their dead bolt didn't work on their door. Maintenance came by first thing in morning and fixed it. Pool/bar Was very large and a bit dated - had a nice slow slope into deeper water lots of drinks to choose from at pool bar - I prefer the beach over pool Water Park After did first day at water park I realized that it was really not needed as the kids of all ages loved the beach best. Water park was great thou - had a great water slide area for teens and older kids and a jungle gym area with mini water slides and water buckets for the younger kids that is surrounded by a water lagoon and there is a toddler water sprinkler area. I highly recommend this place for families/groups of any age as long as they can walk well.

Occidental Punta Cana: Beautiful beach

This resort had one of the best beaches in Punta Cana.The food was great.The rooms were nice.Being part of the First Club was amazing as we had our own bar on the beach with no waiting ever, well worth the extra money.

Recently renovated. Nicely done. Lots of open air lounging and places to kick back in the evening .more room on the beach and pool areas too We enjoyed our third trip there in 10 years and will go back

Ocean Blue and Sand: Just an ok vacation, definately not what was advertised!! Resort needs so much work

We have stayed in Punta Cana at least 20 times. This time being one of the more expensive trips to DR. Pros of resort close to airport and a few great employees..and it ends there! None of our requests were honored apon check in have a disabled husband who was place on 3rd floor, rooms outdated or view was the garbage area of the resort next to us. No working phones for 4 days with family back home a wreck not knowing if we arrived safely. Everytime you needed something fixed you would have to w [... read more]alk too reception could not call. We had to 2 rooms with the same problems. Our fridge was always leaking and water would pool from fridge to bed making it difficult for my husband to walk safely in room..reception was told about it several times and on one occasion someone came to look at it but other then that the maid would clean up water the next morning. Showers were awful with mold and always cold water with no pressure. We go to Punta Cana always because its never been disappointing and for the gorgeous beaches. Well unfortunately Ocean blue and Sand has one of the ugliest beach due to at least 13 huge sand bags surrounding the resort..such an eye sore!Only a few employees stood out through our vacation which we rewarded them with gifts and money but in past all employees stood out especially helping my husband with his disablity..we paid for an upgrade which gave us nothing but a regret of the money spent and not staying at a resort we have stayed prior too here. There is no luxury at Ocean Blue and only a very few employees that know what real customer service is. And stay away from the H10 rep(sharks) that hound you for breakfast with a sales pitch for time shares to this resort..They don't know the meaning of NO will be waiting for you outside your room since we didn't have a working phone..total harrassment. Never in all the years going to Punta Cana whether it was 7, 10 or 14 days have I ever been excited about going home. And so dissapointed that the trip was ruined for my son and his girlfriend.Thanks Ocean Blue and Sand for ruining our family vacation this year. Never write reviews but hopefully this helps someone else not fall for the fake reviews and pretty picutres of this resort. Won't be back and come October when planning on bringing 30 people for a SURPRISE 50th it definately won't be with this resort.

Occidental Punta Cana: First time surfer

The MOST AMAZING BEACH I have ever seen . The food was great and plentiful. Had a great time on the excursions did surfing first time of my life loved it!! The hotel and rooms were great and clean. The staff was great and friendly !!

Occidental Punta Cana: Awesome

All was great, clean resort. Staff was very pleasant and helpful when asked for any assistance. Beach was stunning and clean. Excursion were well planned and alot of fun. Nightly entertainment was very enjoyable.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Luxury Bahia 9th time

Okay, first of all, there were 4 of us.....Denis Huberdeau, Caroline Guertin, Joanne Clark and Lucie Huberdeau This hotel I swore by and have sent many people to. However, it has taken a major turn. I (Lucie) offered my Sister Joanne a spl trip for xmas and as soooo disappointed. I also suggested and referred Denis and his wife to go here for their 25 Wed Anniversary. Horrible. Joanne and I got there first Feb 9 and Denis and his wife caught up to us on Feb 12. We had asked if po [... read more]ssible to be put in a specific area on the site in which did not happen. First afternoon at the beach, we asked to changed chairs as the chairs we are sitting on are privileged members ONLY!!!!! What is a privileged member now...? we need to buy it....become a sorta RCI type member for 17,000 US $ ..this is sooo crazy. After going 9 times and sending all kinds of people. this is the treatment we get? Both our rooms were on the outside of the site, alongside a construction site. Just horrible. Also booking outtings with AC sucks....they are not on time, furthermore, we were told that we needed to be in the lobby one hour prior to the departure of the bus to make our way back home. Guess what, we are told that the bus is running 20 mins late. We wait the 2o mins to finally be told that the bus has already come and gone. There were 3 couples including ourselves waiting on the bus. AC didn't care, they told us that if we wanted to make the flight that we had to a cab a $40 US ride. This we had to pay out of our pockets. They are now just money makers......horrible. Will not go again with AC as a supplier nor will the Bahia Princ see us anytime soon. I strongly suggest and will refer future clients to the Secrets!!!!!!!!! Was sitting on the beach one day with people that had a greyish/gold type bracelet on in which they claim got first class service in everything they did as the were now privileged due to the amount of times they had been there! Give me a break. This was my 9th and last time. we are treated like any local unless we now buy the priviledged package that Mr DON offers to clients for a cheap amount of $17,000 US.....trust me, 17,0000 US can take me for a long ride without having to put up with all this nonsense of being low class......Will never recommend another person to your site!!!!!! if you do a quick math of an avge of 1800 per trip per person 9 years in a row. MY PRIVILEGE SHOULD BE UP AND ABOVE THE DIAMOND CLASS OF PEOPLE.......ONE LAST COMMENT, IT RAINED FOR 3 DAYS AND WE WERE NEVER ABLE TO GET DRY TOWELS, WHETHER IN THE ROOMS .........OR AT THE POOL. SHOWERTIME CAME AROUND, WE GOT WET TOWELS TO DRY WITH!!! THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.

TRS Turquesa: Overall vacation great but a bit disappointed

Overall the resort and vacation was great. We were able to relax, enjoy the sun and the beach. There was a few things that we were surprised. We arrived on Sunday and that same day, we went to our butler and requested to received our "à la carte" restaurant. We were told that it was quit full and the nights we wanted to go the hours were not pleasant. It was either 6pm or 9pm and the restaurants we wanted to go were full. Rooms in building 50 were very updated and nice. Close to the beach, pool and lobby. Highly recommend. For the man, you are allowed to wear shorts at the restaurants in the evening with enclosed shoes. No need of long pants! Service wasn't exceptionally great. It may be because of the culture of the Dominican but I've been to different places in the Caribbean and for a 5 star adult only resort, I didn't felt that I got my money worth for it. There is room for improvement. Entertainment is not a big here. If you like shows at night, not the place. Our lobby is enclosed and very cold so never went for a drink. The other lobbies at the other Palladium resorts that you can go at anytime were great but for the nightly shows, this is a disappointment. They were too far from our resort and very late (after 10pm). Best spot on the beach. Enough chairs, towels. No need to wake up early and reserve a chair at the beach. For the pool, the one closest to the beach yes you would need to reserve a spot early but the other pool between the building 50 and lobby (this is the best one), you do not need to reserve a chair. I would recommend this resort if you are not looking for any big entertainment, just for relaxation and not more.

Sunscape Bavaro Beach: 3 star resort

Rooms very clean and bright-- grounds excellent-- had to call for water for our rooms -- as the water is undrinkable--3 nights-- 7 calls in all -- finally went to the concierge-- resolved-- not enough staff in the dinner area-- beach good --staff very friendly -- gradtuies were expected -- told how the driver- tour guides--- etc -- pay poor and they live on our generosity -- too much- felt guilty all the time--

Riu Bambu: Great girls trip

Hotel staff were amazing. Everyone went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Drinks were OK, nothing special and mostly domestic brands Rooms were updated and clean. Hot water always. Mini fridge wes restocked every other day and towels were replaced daily. Incredible beach. Clean groun.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Beautiful Resort

The resort was beautiful the staff was very Accomodating and very friendly. The grounds were very pretty and very well taken care of. This resort had many restaurants and the buffet was alway fresh and very well displayed,..was always appealing to eat at. I really enjoyed exploring the other resorts either by walking or by the cart drivers. The other resorts always made you feel comfortable and were always happy to help!! Catalonia Royal Bavaro: Very Good Resort!

The beach was very good, not crowded. Enjoyed the crepes and fresh fruit on skewers. The grounds were very well maintained! The. 9 hole golf course was amazing. Challenging and was quite picturesque! We played the course several times.

Riu Republica: Lovely Resort

The hotel was very nice but kind of plain on the outside. The rooms are quite spacious but everything is very white. The grounds are very well maintained. The staff was friendly. Pool area was beautiful as was the beach. The food was also pretty good.

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Nice week away!

The hotel room we had was nice, and the VIP staff was more than accommodating! We checked in very quickly, and all airport transfers went quite smoothly. The food at the resort could be improved, but overall a good time was had by all!

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Very Nice Resort

This resort is very nice, clean and staff are friendly, although it is a very large resort. It was a bit challenging (and frustrating) the first few days to find our way around. It would be a good idea for the resort to put a "you are here" on their maps. Reception upon arrival was lacking; there was no orientation on how things worked around the hotel, i.e. where we could find lunch, what restaurants we could use, towels, etc. We were basically directed to a seat in the lobby with no further di [... read more]rections. After a few minutes we were given our envelope which included our key, a map of the resort and a schedule of the daily activities and a bracelet for our wrist. The rooms are very nice and spacious. And clean! They are cleaned everyday and the fridge was always stocked. The grounds are beautiful; manicured gardens always being worked on. The pools were great and always seats available, although the shaded ones are limited. The resort should consider getting more umbrellas. There is heavy construction taking place on one side of the resort which is very loud, fortunately, we were place on the pool side so we did not get any of this noise. The lobbies are very spacious and comfortable; very conducive to a relaxing atmosphere. Entertainment was always provided in the evening such as live music, dancing, etc. Michael Jackson show was excellent. Waiters are very attentive and always checking on drinks. We did not try any of the restaurants as we did not want to be committed to reservations (time) and we were quite happy with the buffet. Staff are very friendly and we did not encounter any problems. We enjoyed eating in the open air section of the buffet restaurant. The beach was beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed swimming in the ocean. It was a bit challenging to find loungers at times as many of them are reserved very very very early in the morning. But we managed ok and spent a lot of time walking the beach. The beach is a fair distance from our room but shuttles are always going by to provide rides to wherever you're going. If I was to comment on anything about this resort is the communication between the resort and their guests is not very clear. (orientation upon arrival and map)
