Grand Memories Santa Maria: Wouldn’t return but made the best of it

The hotel was a little run down. But they were renovating the floor I stayed on. Which hopefully will improve the hotel. It took me half of my vacation to get a blanket. And there were roaches in my room and my friends room. The same utensils were used on raw hamburger that was sitting out in the heat with no ice etc, as the utensils used to serve the hamburgers. The cheese on the pizza was rancid and gave me the worst food poisoning. I was violently ill for a day. I will say the beach is go [... read more]rgeous and the staff is delightful. The a la Carte restaurants are a saving grace.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Relaxing resort

Hotel was nice and clean friendly staff. Washrooms never had toilet paper but cleaned . Grounds need more lighting pretty dark and scary to get to restaurants at night. Entertainment was fair. Food was ok . The beaches were breath taking . Would I go again probably but to Veradero .

Muthu Playa Varadero: Great resort

The resort was clean, well maintained. Everything was close by; beach, bar, lobby, buffet, pool which we found was great.Our room was spacious and clean. The bed wasn’t the most comfortable but other than that we were very happy with our room was cleaned everyday, and had a good view of the pool. We had one issue with a bartender who worked at the bar by the pool evening time, he was rude, never smiled, would serve everyone before us even people who came after us. We had made a complaint to th [... read more]e manager and everything was taken care of after that. All other staff that were there were amazing always smiling and very welcoming. We weren’t expecting the food to be great as we all know we do not go there for the food but it’s wasn’t that bad the bread was rlly good. All to say we really enjoyed our stay and we were happy with our choice of resort.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Nice Resort

We had a great time, a little shy on some food but everything else was great. Hot sunny weather and the beer was cold. Everything was very clean and friendly atmosphere. I would recommend this resort to anyone Thanks for everything Robert & Sharon Bolton

Just got back from here February 18,2020 We chose this resort for a number of reasons: Quiet Adults only Nice beach Nice food small resort All the above are absolutely true, but what isn’t explained are the people. They go out of their way more than any resort I’ve ever been to. I want to thank our room cleaner, Nusmily! I ate more fruit and vegetables than I ever expected also. Our room was 0840 which was farthest from the beach and lobby. 2nd floor. We had no problem, but a long walk if you have trouble walking. But what a view! And a bed to die for. King. The rooms have coffee makers and get CTV on the tv. Great little fridge with beer and a large water supplied every day. I would look for a cabana in number 1, 2, or 3 when going back. Closest to the beach and the lobby. Bring a converter for your electronics (220 v)

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Decent place

Beautiful hotel most of the staff was amazing buffet left a lil to be desired but still enjoyed our stay . We spent a lot of our time at pool. Made some amazing friends both local and from around the world

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Fantastic. Great Week. Loved it.

I was very impressed with this hotel. The staff were helpful and courteous. The grounds were well kept. The rooms were very clean. Food was good and I ate what I liked. Line-ups, but that o.k. the staff work very hard and can only try to keep up. Maybe add extra staff. I liked the decor and lobby along with the colors, but the cushions and pillows should be replaced with darker colors the stains are much more visible. The animators were just fantastic. I was told by my friend that the bathrooms near the pool were not too clean. Check-in and check-out was fast and efficient. We enjoyed our stay and would gladly go back.

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Cant wait to go back

Hotel, grounds, and Beach was great. Drinks were plentiful and easy to find. The food was ok for a buffet. The fruits and seafood were fresh. I would go back, just to learn to kite-board. The wind is onshore or cross-shore and conditions are usually good.

Melia Marina Varadero: Great Stay!

We had a one week Sunday to Sunday trip booked in Feb at the Melia Marina Varadero hotel. We also decided to travel and stay in Havana Tuesday to Thursday. Upon arriving at the hotel, check in was easy, although our room was not ready for another hour since we were early for check in. We stored our bags and were able to grab a sandwich from the snack bar by the pool. The hotel is large and clean. Everyone was courteous and attentive. Our room was large and although somewhat dated, was maintained clean. The bed and pillows were really not comfortable but you get used to it. Our toilet ran, which meant you had to flush it twice (I only mention this because others complained about it...) Between Sunday to Tuesday we felt that the hotel was actually quite empty, with an older Canadian crowd. When we came back from Havana, the hotel was full of Cuban families and couples and the vibe was much more lively. Turns out they had a promotion for Valentine’s day. Because of this, there were some lines to eat at the buffet, which we were able to skip by making reservations for the Hotel restaurants. The food at the buffet had enough variety to keep us happy. Our favourite was the snack bar by the beach for lunch as they had great vegetable options and a charcoal BBQ. The Hotel restaurants were okay, the service was great, but I think I prefer the options at the buffet. The process to book the restaurants was easy, and could be done in advance – I booked on Tuesday for Thursday, and on the same day for Valentine’s day. The pools are huge, and even when the hotel was full, were never crowded. There are aquafit classes and Zumba classes throughout the day, that after a few drinks are quite fun to participate in. The bars can get crowded but all the bartenders do a great job at multi-tasking. The drinks are generous pours and delicious. White wine sometimes ran out but you could always get more for $2 CUC at the tapas bar under the main staircase. The beach is a short walk away, as the hotel is on the marina side, with a convenient shuttle that takes you back and forth if you need it. We never struggled to find chairs on the beach (although many were broken). There is some seaweed, but really the beach is quite magical. The only con I really had was with fellow Canadians who were not on their best behaviour, and I am not talking about kids on spring break. We heard complaints about food not being made fast enough (it is literally being bbq'd in front of you), about not all staff being fluent in English (you would never expect the same if someone travelled to Canada), and just an overall level of arrogance and impatience that was really embarrassing! Yes, you are on vacation! In someone else's home country! Take a chill pill and relax,have a mojito and enjoy the beach. I would stay again and recommend it to my friends and family

Starfish Cayo Largo: Beautiful white sandy beach

Beautiful beach, food's okay, rooms are pretty good, staff is friendly. Very short if any wait for bar service. Looks a little rundown due to sparce grass on green areas. Airport is very handy and was in hotel 1/2 hour after disembarking. Designated full nudity beaches. No bicycle rentals but Quad rental is quite reasonable.

Melia Costa Rey: Resort Pullman

Hotel was awesome.Rooms very clean.Staff all very pleasant.Food was great.Ala carte restaurants was awesome.Entertainment was great.pools and grounds keep very clean.Check in was very quick rooms we ready on arriving.

Memories Paraiso: NOT IMPRESSED

BATHROOMS WERE DISGUSTING ALL OVER THE RESORT. OUR ROOM #4136 TOILET LEAKED ALL THE TIME, WE REQUESTED ANOTHER ROOM BUT DIDN'T GET ONE. WE DIDN'T HAVE A COFFEE MAKER FOR 3 DAYS. WE DIDN'T HAVE COFFEE FOR THE LAST 3 DAYS. OUR ROOM FRIDGE WASN'T STOCKED. MOLD ALL OVER THE CEILING FAN AND OTHER AREAS OF THE ROOM. MY ROOM MATE DEVELOPED A NASTY COUGH (PROBABLY BECAUSE WE WERE BREATHING IN MOLD) BUS RIDE WAS AN HOUR AND HALF FROM AIRPORT......TOO LONG

Playa Vista Azul: Ocean Vista Azul

We enjoyed everything about the resort except for the beer. We are all beer drinkers and none of us liked the beer which tastes skunky. The beach was beautiful and the food was great!! We truly enjoyed our relaxing week.

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Dhawa, our home in Cuba!!

We were at Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria for the 5th time in 14 months. We love this resort for the amazing service from all employees, they create an atmosphere of family with all guests. We really feel like we are part of the Dhawa family. We prefer smaller resorts and Dhawa fits the bill. No matter which bungalow you are in, you are no more than 2 minutes away from everything. We go to Cuba for the beaches and this hotel has a beautiful beach with lots of shade and chairs. Great drinks se [... read more]rvice too served right at your chair. Food is great and abundant choices for Cuba standards. Rooms are cleaned and equipped with a large shower no bathtub unless you request a suite. Management is very attentive to your needs and are seen on site everyday. There is also a bank opened 8:30 am to 8:30 pm on site to exchange money, which is very convenient. This is a quiet hotel, don't expect party like atmosphere all day long but this is what we prefer. We are really happy we discovered this gem and we will be back again for sure.

Playa Pesquero: Nice resort

The grounds were very well kept and everything was easy to find .. the pool and beach had lots of lounge chairs which was very nice to see usually this has been a problem at previous resorts but not this one ..the front desk could have used a few more people when checking in and out as they didn’t seem to move very fast but other then that it was a great trip .

Hotel Los Cactus: Resort looks ok

this is a very big resort....grounds are well maintained ....rooms are kinda old...needs lot of improvements for sure a painting job...great coffee bar,too bad is opening at 3 pm....food it s always the same and waiters are very friendly....most beautiful thing is the beach ,fine sand and clear water....will be back

Melia Las Americas: Excellent Resort!

I found this resort very clean and the staff were very friendly and professional. I had a standard room and it was much larger than anticipated. The beach was the highlight, it was clean and there was never a problem getting a lounge chair. The only negative things would be I had trouble getting a reservation in a few of the restaurants at the earlier time I was looking for. I ate at the buffet most the time, and there was always something for someone and a good variety. The desserts could  [... read more]have been changed out a bit more, for example, have pies or cakes. Overall, if you are looking for a high-end resort and a relaxing time, this would be the perfect place. The majority of the guests were on the older side, which could be because it is an 'Adults Only' resort and geared to golfers.

Gran Muthu Imperial: Good Resort

Very nice resort, nice beach and pool area, good service. Unfortunately had a power outage at 3:00 till 7:45 pm.no lights, running water and no coffee during that time. We got transferred to Gran Muthu Rainbow next door free of charge for the remainder of our stay.Brand new hotel with fantastic service and accommodations, would strongly recommend both,Denis

Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Great Resort

This was a last minute booking and we couldn't be happier. The resort was great. staff were very helpful. Amenities were great. Food was good. Beach is very nice. Rooms were very clean and quite large. Had an ocean view which was beautiful to wake up to. Would go again for sure.

Playa Costa Verde: Amazing Resort indeed

For this was the first time ever for me to venture off on my own to anywhere. The Playa Costa Verde Resort was an amazing place on so many levels. The grounds were well maintained very easy to remember how to get around, the beach was gorgeous. The food was awesome, I even tried squid for the first time lol... To top it all off the staff was top notch they truly are amazing people there and I will definitely be back there. Thank you Yours truly Mark Zavitz
