Melia Varadero: Feels like Coming Home

This was our third stay at the Melia Veradaro - our last visit was two years ago - and it felt like coming home. Great flight (only 2 of us in a three seat row), quick transition from plane to bus to hotel; checked in in ten minutes. A week of good weather (one day lost to high winds), by the pool every day. Loved it - especially the staff. Cubans are such a generous people.

Club Kawama: the resort was good

The resort was good. Do not book a standard room it was a sh.... hole . We then upgraded to a Superior room much better . Food well it was typical Cuban buffet food so so the ala carta were good .Other wise we had a great time .

Hotel Villa Cuba: Great resort

Resort was great, was very big and had a good variety of food over all had a great time and would definently recommend this resort,it was close to markets and right on the beach, staff were very helpful and friendly

Memories Jibacoa: truly relaxing and pleasing

This was our first experience with an all inclusive and we will partake again, as we had a wonderful time and all things met our expectations, and then some. We are in our 60's and needed an adult only complex and this was wonderful.

Starfish Varadero: Resort with Growing Potential!

We were at this resort from Jan. 21st till the 28th. It is under new ownership and has been going through renovations and improvements. We liked that we kept getting asked our opinion and that management was taking our suggestions to improve the resort. We got a room in the main building and had to change only because of loud neighbours and one of the mattresses had broken springs. We upgraded to a bungalow which was much better and closer to the beach and pool. Small things still need to be fi [... read more]xed but overall we were satisfied. This resort is huge! We were very impressed with the entertainment team and the many activities available. There is always so much going on! (We loved the Cuban Day and the foam party at the beach with a BBQ lunch. The Evening shows were fantastic!). The food was by far, the best we have ever had in our many visits to Cuba. The buffet restaurant had many choices and the A la Cartes were delicious with friendly service (especially the Seafood restaurant). Wifi was slow. I could only connect in the early morning and later in the evening. Front desk staff were polite and helpful. One suggestion I would recommend is for the Coffee bar to have 2 servers working in the morning when everyone wants their coffee. The bartender at the beach was excellent, but would benefit from a second server in peak parts of the day. Would return and recommend this resort!

Mar Del Sur: I loved it for 3-star Hotel it was great

The staff in the hotel was very friendly the grounds are clean food was okay no complaints dining area was very comfortable I would definitely go back again I thoroughly enjoyed my time there staff was very friendly very helpful

Sol Palmeras: Wonderful Relaxing Resort

For a place that is 27 years old, it is very well maintained and VERY clean. The food was really good and bar and restaurant options are fabulous. The layout of the property makes it easy and quick to get to the pool, ocean or restaurants in a matter of 2 or 3 minutes. I would not hesitate to go back..

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Totally worth it!!!!

Everything was beyond our expectations. Staff was amazing, food was terrific, beach was breath taking, room was immaculate and very clean. The bed was a bit uncomfortable but overall a great value. You won't be disappointed.

Palma Real: Best place in Varadero

Hello this is our second stay here and we love the location of this fine hotel. Its 1 block to a beautiful beach and 1 block to Beatles bar which is an amazing place to go. They have since 2 years ago have landscaped and painted most rooms really looks impressive. The food here is fine and have great variety of things to do nice pools and bars are friendly. The money you save here you can eat off resort and have pizza or steak or whatever you like. I am sad I did not make memories I wanted to make next time I guess .

Sol Varadero Beach: Very Poor Public Washrooms or Lack of Public Washrooms

Although staff is friendly, we will not return to Sol Sirenas Coral because the public washrooms are either totally unacceptable or non-existant. In the bathroom serving the lobby, the stall doors do not have locks or do not stay closed, all toilet paper dispensers are broken and allow toilet paper roll to fall onto the dirty floor, soap dispenser does not work and paper towel is replaced by toilet paper to dry our hands. There is no bathroom at the beach nor at the beach restaurant. I was to [... read more]ld to stay away from the washrooms by the Coral pool because they were worse than the washrooms located in the lobby which is hard to believe. The only acceptable washroom is hidden behind the snack bar however the waste baskets are overflowing and smell. By Canadian standards, fully functional washrooms are not considered a luxury but a basic necessity!!!

Occidental Arenas Blancas: Very Nice Resort!

This is a very nice resort. Beautiful beach and pools. Something for everyone. Very clean. Food was good but not always as hot as it should be. The a la carte's were excellent. I found the staff very rude most of the time. I however ignored this as their understanding of English was poor so I am not sure that this may have been the reason.

Hotel Bella Costa: Great Resort

Hotel Bella Costa was very good for old. Eveñ though the resort has been around for a long time I found the hotel to have better accommodation then the newer resort in Cuba. The was a leak in the ceiling where some of my thing got wet. They changed the room fast abd gave a free massage. The beach and ocean is was clean and nice location. Beach bar was far from the beach but at least they were fast. Barcelo Solymar: Not for individuals with tase

The hotel, 15 years ago, was not even finished but what was finished was beautiful. The service was excellent and the food quality and variety were great. This was our 1st trip to Cuba. !5 years later we went back to a total disaster. There were ceiling water leaks all over the place. Main one in front of the entrance to the main buffet restaurant. It was there when we got there and 11 days later. Ceiling leaking in the buffet restaurant itself and many other places including customer rooms. T [... read more]he black mold was plentiful. Food was only available at the buffet restaurants, the bars which used to have grills were all shut down or served as bars only. The a la carte restaurants, 4 only between the 2 hotels, had such a limited menu, 1 appetizer choice of 4 noodles or pastas and 1 dessert. The washroom facilities in Solymar lobby were closed so if one needed to use them, either the outside bars or go to the room. The stairs were very dangerous to use with broken railings or loose hand rails.I fell down a flight of stairs, luckily no broken bones but bruises all over my body.. The pools are chipped and rusting on the bottoms. The food was the worst quality we ever experienced in Cuba and this was our 8th trip there.I'm not sure we will return to Cuba after this trip.The guests were mainly younger party type and many Russian customers. Barcelo is a brand we are going to avoid in the future. Front lobby personnel need training in customer service. The service personnel were excellent and hard working.

Playa Vista Azul: No reason to go back to Ocean Vista Azul

Food - I don't expect gourmet but I have had good food in Cuba before at the Paradisus Princesa del Mar - either no taste or too salty - same thing every single day - did not like that there was only buffet available for lunch every day Beach - nice but could have been kept nicer if raked - quite a walk from the hotel Rooms - spacious enough - never had a proper temperature shower Staff - least friendly i have encountered in Cuba - could really tell they were not properly mana [... read more]ged/trained, i.e. woman picking her fingernails while we were asking questions about the internet, no soap in the one washroom at the beach bar, could not get fresh towels daily, etc Vanessa told me that you have sent 72 clients go there and they all liked it. This was a big reason I booked this hotel but I now find it hard to believe.

Great service, perfect location, amazing beaches & lovely staff. Great value for the money!!!!!!!! Beds need a little upgrade, but other than this, rooms are very clean and comfortable. Will be sure to recommend this resort to friends and more important, I will be returning to visit again. Much thanks to our new friends at Sol Palmera

Playa Caleta: Beautiful Beach and Staff!

The service at this Resort was fabulous! All the staff were friendly and accomodating. My husband and I are picky eaters, so we found the food, in general, was not the greatest. Having said that, the omelettes at breakfast were delicious! Also their chicken and turkey were good too. The elevators were in rough shape, but the stairs worked fine! All in all a great affordable vacation!

Sol Palmeras: Awesome Hotel

Sol Palmeras is a hidden secret, the grounds, rooms, staff, the buffet and ala carte restaurants were amazing. The resort is clean and comfortable. The proximity to the stunning beach and pools are a 4 minute walk from your rooms. Would highly recommend this resort.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Couldn't have asked for more!

The grounds were perfectly manicured and lovely. The pool locations were well set up. Plenty of locations to get a drink. Abundant chaise lounges by the pool and on the beach with many thatched sun umbrellas available. Entertainment in the lobby, lobby deck and theatre...always engaging. Food was abundant also with lots of choices and locations. Buffet was options plus. Service was amenable and efficient. Rooms and site clean. And finally, the beach was spectacular.

Palma Real: Best resort and location

It is the 20th time back to this hotel it's the best for location and the staff is the best always there to look after you from the bartenders the maids the Buffett staff the security and the front desk staff especially Samira she is the best
