Hotel staff were great! Very spacious and clean rooms. Grounds very well groomed. Shows were wonderful! Food was exceptional, especially the Capri Italian al la carte. If your going, you need to take the Mayan Ruins excursion aswell as the Rio Secerto. Both well worth going on.

Sunscape Puerto Vallarta: good
We stayed for seven days and found the resort to be all very good, but it could use more "a la cartes" restaurants. We found the Italian restaurant to be the best. The employees were very polite and helpful.

Grand Palladium Vallarta: Great time!
The hotel was beautiful. All areas were kept very clean. We stayed in a deluxe room with 2 adults and a 6 year old. There were a lot of stairs as the resort is on a cliff but I believe they also had ramp access to most areas. I definitely got my steps in.
The bars were good. Sometimes you had to wait a bit for a drink, just depended how busy they were. I wished I had brought an insulated bigger cup and would next time. The cups are small in the pool area and seem to be a magnet for a 6 year [... read more]old splashing pool water.
The pools were great, well maintained, got quite busy mid day. Our son liked the kids area with water slides. The adult pool was quieter and was a nice break, also breathtaking as it is an infinity pool over the ocean .
Our son loved the kids club. So that was a bonus in giving us, the parents a break.
The buffet was really good I thought and we ate there the whole time.
My only negatives would be I wish the bed and pillows were more comfy- that is the minor one.
My major issue was access to bottled water. I drink a lot of water and my body is used to that. In our mini bar we would get 4-6 600ml bottles of water each day. That is for 3 people. I found myself strategizing to get enough, drinking as much as I could at meal times. Likely my downfall was drinking alcohol at the pool all afternoon then being very thirsty once back in my room. You can order water at all the bars but it is usually a bit of a wait and the little cups again. We tried to tip and request extra water bottles, but didn’t seem to get far with our limited Spanish. If we return, I would actually check a bag on the plane with just water bottles. But as I said I drink a lot of water and this likely wouldn’t be an issue for everyone
Oh yeah, and the lattes in the Hemingway bar in the morning are delicious!

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Worst Resort Ever
We were denied rooms together and our rooms were separated from two different floors. Foggy gray water spilled from our shower and our toilet was clogged for a whole night. We were not assisted even though we called numerous times! Last day we missed our bus because our room phone wasn't working. My husband had to run all the way to the reception centre to even tell the bell boy to get our luggage. We were forced to pay $100US because the bell boy didn't make the effort to stop the bus when we w[... read more]ere right on time! They didn't put our luggage in the bus either. Some of the food was terrible, some restaurants were 5 star while others were 1. Lastly, there were so many mosquitos that it was natural to be bit 5 times a lday. We have traveled over 20 vacations and this was by a lightyear, the worst resort ever. Sincerely, Lisa.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Good resort
Good food. .no reservations required except at the Japanese. The breakfast and lunch buffet are really good.
Extremely clean resort.
The people selling excursions etc on the beach are very annoying. We were asked every few minutes to buy something...massage, excursion, souvenir etc. The massage people are the worst.
Great entertainment..lots to do all day and evening.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda
A little background first. We are a family of four, with a 5 year old and a 3 year old. We have been to 3 All Inclusives before, two in Riviera Maya & one in Punta Cana.
We stayed at Blue Bay for 7 nights, 8 days.
THE ROOM
We were put in block 6, 4th floor (top floor) Garden View.
On Sunday(arrival day) the shower drain was clogged and the water wouldn't drain so we went up to the lobby to get maintence to fix it. They sent someone to plunge the drain, problem solved.
On Monday, th[... read more]eir was a downpour, which started leaking from the ceiling into our room onto the headboard/pillows/mattress. When we reported it, they informed us we could not stay in the room and would have to be moved. So we were moved down to the second floor. Whole process took about an hour.
On Tuesday, we headed back to our room around 9pm at night with our kids who were tired and hot, only to discover neither of our room keys would open the door. My husband had to go down to the conciege desk to call up to the lobby to report the issue, who sent a bellboy with new keys, but that didn't work so we had to wait for the security guard to show up and let us in. This took about 20 mins. Asked for 30 mins to get our kids ready for bed before they come back to fix the door issue. When all was said and done, the door issue took about 1hr 5mins.
On Wednesday they came to fix our mini fridge as it wasn't cold which we had mentioned on Tuesday night during the whole door issue.
After this their were no issues with our room. I will mention though that both rooms had, were defintely in need of a update.
Housekeeping was great though and I did actually see them moving furniture around to clean behind and under the big items. Knowing the room was at least clean, we were able to handle the dated items.
THE BEACH
No seaweed but you do have to walk through a thick line of broken shells before the soft sand. As well, the shells are there when first entering the water too. Nothing the resort could do about this though, that's just nature. If you bring water shoes, you should be fine. The kids loved looking for different shells :) We met a travel agent while walking on the beach who told us Blue Bay usually has the nicest beach around but there has been alot of erosion lately which shows. We ended up spending most of our time at the main pool.
THE POOL
Being the off season, half of the main pool by the beach was closed for renovations, not a huge deal as their were plenty of chairs around the pool that was open. The part that was open was very nice and had shallow areas for the kids to be able to stand up and splash around.
THE SPA
My husband had a pedicure and I had a chocolate wrap. Unfortunetly, I didn't get too far into the spa to look around as my service was being done in another building. Turns out, it was just a random room in my own building block #6 (closest block to the spa) set up with music & 2 massage beds. My husband & I love doing hydrotherpay circuts & we got an email about 3 weeks before travel saying the Spa was under renovations so we couldn't partake in that particular activity. So not sure if the wrap was done in a regular room because of renovations or if that is the actual regular spot. So that was pretty disappointing. The wrap itself was nice, though not convinced it was worth $90USD. My husband says the pedicure was "good" lol.
THE FOOD
Typical fare at All Inclusives. The dinner buffet is themed differently each night, Italian, Oriental, Mexican etc. Tried 3 a La cartes. The Steakhouse, The French & the Oriental.
The Steakhouse
When we booked this restaurant we were shown on the map where it was, at the restaurant down by the beach. Get down there and nope, "not here, don't know where" was the response we received from one guy, the only unfriendly/unhelpful staff member the whole trip. We eventually managed to find out that it was back up at the top of the resort in the Mexican restaurant. I guess in the off season, they don't utilize all the restaurants, and some will share double duty as a La cartes. As we were already late for our 6pm reservation, we couldn't wait for the little tram to come around to take us back up so we had to walk, in full dinner clothes, heels, and our 3 year old. We were very hot & sweaty by the time we made it to dinner. The saving grace here was the food and the waiter, Alfredo who was amazing!
The French
Definetley recommend dining here if you get the chance, food was great, atmosphere was great and our server Wendy was great! Hands down the best service we got all trip! Wendy deserves a promotion, raise, recognition, something, absolutely the best!
THE STAFF
Amazing! Very friendly, (other than the one guy at the beach Steakhouse.) Everyone was very good with our boys too, high fives, fist bumps, 1 waiter even made our eldest a locust out of palm fronds during lunch one day.
THE ENTERTAINMENT
Shows were good. There was a different show each night of the week. They start at 930pm which is a little late in my opinion. Would be nice if they could move them up to 9pm for the littler kids.
Circus show on Monday night was great but no live animals, more acrobatic performances.
Saw the Peter Pan show on Thursday night, only stayed about 20 mins or so as our 5 year old wasn't feeling well and our 3 year old was scared of the loud noises & flashing lights.
Saw the Grease show on Friday night, only watched about half as my 5 year was bored & wanted to leave but I loved what I did get to see!
THE GROUNDS
Bring mosquito spray!!! Lovely grounds but it is a very long walk to the beach/main pool and this resort is in the middle of mangroves/swamps. Could use more lighting along the paths at night. I'm serious about the mosquito spray, my kids were covered in bites and I was spraying them everynight before we left the room to go to dinner.
OVERALL IMPRESSION
We have yet to return to the same resort twice as we like to discover new things, but if we ever did, we would not do a repeat of Blue Bay & don't feel like we could recommend it to anyone. This was our first trip in 6 years and our kids first trip ever and though they don't know any different (they just loved swimming everyday) we were pretty dissappointed. I had to keep reminding myself, that at least I was on vacation and that was better than being back at home working:)

Catalonia Riviera Maya: Wonderful resort
The stay at Catalonia Riviera Maya was wonderful. From the welcoming arrival to the good byes when we left the staff were very accommodating. The rooms were cleaned daily and the fridge restocked as well. If you needed any thing they were more than willing to help you out.
There were a lot of stairs to get around but manageable. The staff arranged for a golf cart at a decent rate which aloud us to drive around Puerto Aventuras and see the marine animals, shops and places to eat outside the res[... read more]ort. All of the food was very good and the Buffett had enough selection to satisfy all of us. The entertaining staff and bartenders were always friendly and there to make you feel right at home. Access to the water through the beach can be tricky if you don’t wear water shoes as there were a lot of rocks but once you got pass the rocks there was a nice sand bottom. We were there for ten days and we were not disappointed with anything.

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Fantastic value for the money
The rooms were absolutely massive (we are a family of 5 and we stayed in a 2 bedroom penthouse suite, more room and storage areas than we knew what to do with!). Low season so not all restaurants were open every night but they rotated so we were able to try all of the ones we wanted (our favourites were the Italian, Sea Olive which was closed for renos but had their menu at pisca, and Koh Thai). For breakfast there was only 1 restaurant open which provided everything you would need for breakfas[... read more]t (except for hashbrowns). Lunch had a few different restaurants open as well, but for those who wanted other options, the room service menu was well above average!
Our butler Enoc was fantastic and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the trip without any issues. We are prestige members and were worried about the change in ownership, several emails sent to the hotel with different questions were all answered in a very timely fashion by Saul Valles Loya, who also met us upon check in. Thanks again Enoc and Saul for your fantastic customer service! We did not have to call once to get our room cleaned, turn down service or minibar refilled as the staff were on the ball. The massage by the beach (right above the towels area) was absolutely fantastic as well! The grounds were beautiful, a nice twist is how you can take a trip through the jungle as well.
Can't really think if any negatives aside from the nightly entertainment was lacking, they had a raggae band followed by a fire show which was great, but that was about it (aside from the entertainment at the members dinner which only caters to members, not the rest of the hotel).
Lots of pools, bars, loungers available and lots of friendly staff everywhere as well. We were worried about coming here at first as the price was very low, but we would 100% come back here!

TRS Coral: Very nice resort
We were at the resort Sept. 30 - Oct 7, 2019.
Service: Service we experienced was in general very good. Staff, from butler to restaurant staff was very attentive, and no complaint. Only place where we weren't impressed was on the beach. We were on the beach for almost an hour before somebody come to provide service. By that time we were tired of waiting as was packing up to go.
TRS main pool: apparently lots of people do leave their towels on poolside lounges for a long time without ac[... read more]tually using the chairs. I realize this is a problem for a lot of resorts. really enjoyed the pool entertainment. nothing loud and crassy, very good quality.
Food: no complaints re food quality. good cuts of beef for steaks, even had a tomahawk. lobster for dinner in TRS restaurants, although sometimes it tends to be overcooked. some inconsistencies to how dishes are prepared. the same restaurant, same dish can taste quite different on different nights. best and worst lobster dinner both at El Goucho.
Grounds: impeccably clean.
Room: no complaints whatsoever. whatever was missed (face cloth for one day) was quickly brought to us when we called. same as mini fridge items.
One serious suggestion: this is the only 5 star resort we went to that doesn't provide a single malt scotch. as I am a scotch drinker, that was a big disappointment.
Conclusion: over all, we've enjoyed this resort. Biggest + for me is lobster dinner almost every night. biggest - for me is they do not have single malt scotch. Others, like consistencies in the dishes they serve in the same restaurant, would be good. improvement in the drink service on the beach would be nice. I would go back if I come across a good price.

Secrets Playa Mujeres: Not a luxury Resort.
We stayed at the Secrets Playa Mujeres from September 20th to 27th (room 2201). Went there for our 5th wedding anniversary. When we arrived after registering we were welcomed by Leo from the VIP services, thanking us for choosing the resort for our stay.
He explained about the $200 resort credit and how to use it and also wanted to book some time for the “welcome breakfast†the next morning. We had arrived early afternoon and was starving so went to have lunch at the Seaside Grill. Service [... read more]was very slow and after almost half hour waiting still did not get my order, had to remind the Manager again and even when the meal came it was not a listed on the menu, again had to call him over and showed him what was supposed to be served. That was our first impression of the service so far.
Next morning when we met with Leo for the “presentation†said to him we are not interested as the service we received so far was disappointing so we would not waste his time. He apologized profusely and said that “we will make it right with youâ€. We even showed him the email we had sent to the Customer Service a few weeks before we arrived stating that we were spending our anniversary there and showed him there was not even an acknowledgement of the email. Again promises and nothing materialized. He actually asked for a copy of our Marriage certificate. (We spent our previous anniversary at the Beloved Resort, five minutes down the street and the service was completely different).
We received a call in the room a couple days after from Jennifer asking about our stay so far, again we voiced our disappointments and was told we are going to make it up to you, again nothing. So overall, our experience with the front desk was not great, they spend too much time trying to sell you their “unlimited vacation packagesâ€, the staff around the resort itself went above and beyond to make you feel welcome and at home but again the front desk service sucked, they even lie to you to get you suckered into the sales pitch.
I personally would not go back to this resort or any under the AMResorts brand, while this is barely a five star resort, definitely not a luxury resort. If you are in the preferred club you may be okay but if not it’s not worth the money. For a true luxury experience try the Beloved in the same complex.

I have been to several adult only resorts in Mayan and this is the best. ( Valentin Imperial, Secrets Marina and Iberostar Grand Paraiso to name a few). The service and food was phenomenal. Sandos Cancun: Sandos was fantastic!
We traveled to Cancun for the first time and very happy that we chose Sandos! We had a 16-month old with us and although the hotel was not really a kid/family hotel - it was great! Our little one and us enjoyed the pool area with the ocean view and nice sun tents as well as a nice beach and a beautiful blue ocean.
The staff was providing a high quality service and accommodated all our requests, including the crib for the baby and daily milk supply for his bottles. And everybody around really [... read more]seemed to love our baby - it was very тшÑую
The minor complaint we had was that we constantly had to ask to bring the water bottles to our room as they were forgetting to leave them when the room was getting cleaned and we needed at least 3-4 bottles every day to wash baby's bottles and also just stay hydrated.
The weather was great, no hurricanes - just a couple of rains here and there. If you want to have a blast at Sandos - get a room with a balcony. We enjoyed having coffee and snacks from the room service that was operating 24 hours, and watch sunrise and a beautiful night views from our room once we did an upgrade for the balcony.

TRS Coral: Amazing Resort
We went there for our annual "girls" trip. Every year we decide on a different hotel and often in a different location. Hands down this had to be the best up to now. The property is beautiful, the rooms comfortable and well appointed, although they could use some more shelves or drawers to store one's clothes. We had a swim up room and used our pool area a lot, especially on the days when the weather was a trifle unselttled. Everything is very clean, and constantly being cleaned. The other restaurants were on the family side, so we decided to skip them this time. The Chic dinner and show will entertain and amaze you. We had excellent service for the staff at all venues. Say hi to Jose Luis at the pool, he'll bring you wonderful drinks all day, or you might see him in the Lobby bar or the Gravity Bar. All the staff rotate. We were in Building 01, bottom floor, swim up suites and our Butlers, Santiago and Josue were excellent and couldn't do more for us to make our stay pleasant. Paradisus Playa del Carmen: Great vacation
We were very impressed with all the amenities the hotel had to offer. The restaurants a la carte were excellent, and they had a lot of activities for children. The water park was a lot of fun. My kids 3 and 4 years old had a blast. They have an adults only hotel that you can also have access too ( the gym is located in the all adult section and the classes are super fun, I did the spinning class a couple of mornings). Transportation was always on time, and we felt very safe. Would visit again.
