Hotel Atlantico: disappointing
We had been told this was a good hotel, 3*. It was barely okay. The food, while not surprising for Cuba, was repetitive and often dry (chicken). They never had any yougurt, the first time in over 40 years of going we have seen this. And not one mojitto. These are the things that make Cuba acceptable. The beach was lovely but dirty. The staff were kind and helpful. The bedspreads were very dirty. There were lots of steps, though i had requested no stairs, This was definitely not the right resort [... read more]
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Paradisus was indeed Paradise
The resort itself was absolutely gorgeous - picturesque. The photos provided online are indeed a true reflection of the actual grounds. Resort was very clean, very pretty. The food was great :) The room was clean and staff were so very friendly. Nightly shows/entertainment were spectacular. Tours/excursions were fantastic!
Gran Muthu Imperial: A Gem in Cayo Coco Guillermo
I cant say enough about this resort. This has been my second time to this resort and it is absolutely beautiful. The staff are amazing and will do anything for you. They all have smiles on their faces and are ready to greet you will a hug. The rooms are always clean but there were some issues with getting clean towels in the rooms for showering. we did run into some issues with getting clean linen on our beds during the week Unfortunately my brother's room had towels that were dirty fr [... read more]
Hotel Los Cactus: Good Resort
the resort was good ....pool beautiful, rooms good ,everything one needs, few hicupps ....grounds need some improvement ....but staff wonderful like this resort because it is only 2 storey ...one area is 3 floors ....
Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Great place
Staff is always great. They are patient and gracious. The room we had was a little worn but spotless and the towel art amazing. Grounds were neatly trimmed and keep clean of the tourists tossed cups and garbage. The ocean and beach are fantastic in this location. The coral, which is about 150 yards off the beach, is breathtaking and the variety of fish will have you out there everyday. The food was good and flavourful with the Cuban ice cream the crowning touch. Servers were great and helpful [... read more]
Valentin Perla Blanca: Feb 8 - 15
we have traveled many times and this is not our first trip to Cuba. We were very pleased with the Beach, room, and especially the service. thanx to Julio at the breakfast buffet . The downside is that the food was not even a 4 star and i know it's Cuba and we have visited in the past, i never went hungry but especially at breakfast to not have enough staff to cook eggs ( 10-20 ) in line always.no potatoes or bacon for the whole week, the only juice was orange tang.( cant live on chicken and past [... read more]
The Reserve at Paradisus Varadero: More than expected.
The grounds of the hotel were very well kept. The gardeners were continously working to keep the grounds in pristine condition. Pools were kept clean too. The food that was offered at the hotel was great as well. I know that people have their doubts about Cuba, but at this resort we did NOT go hungry in the slightest. The staff were friendly, housekeepers were always pleasant. The staff in the serving department were not overly ambitious though. The beach was alright, there was a lot o [... read more]
Blau Varadero: Relaxing and clean resort
Clean and friendly resort. Everything is close by and easy to get to. The food was actually not too bad and good variety. Chill out bar had great pina coladas. Great music everyday. Relaxing stay.
Melia Jardines del Rey: Mother & Daughter week
For a 1st trip ever, it was great. Food wise, there was always something good. Our room(2109) was a good size. Only once we lacked hot water. Room was clean. Lobby,Bar area was fun. Was lacking sitting space sometimes. Everyone was friendly! Would go back again Thank you!!
Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Disappointed
Nothing fancy… in need of major facelift. Upholstery was very stained and worn in rooms and dining areas. Patio door in room was very hard to open and closet doors were missing. We were three in our room and we each had a bath towel - no bath mat, hand towels or face cloths. We had to ask often to switch them out as they did not dry because of the humidity. Air conditioning was very noisy, and in room phone did not work. Stuck with the same beach towel all week … dry ones were never availabl [... read more]
Muthu Playa Varadero: the good, the bad and the ugly
Good: Excellent beachfront location, great long beach for walking. Good food options, best to get to buffet early. Bad: Customer service lacking, noisy late night activities makes relaxation impossible in your suite. Poor gym mostly unusable broken equiptment Ugly: disrespectful drunk patrons up til dawn
Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Cant compare this to other Ocean by H10 resorts
Its a nice and very typical Cuba experience. A little worn down resort, service is only good when you tip well and overall hotel layout is a bit weird. If you are looking for a "quick and dirty" vacation option, that's your place. I would suggest adding a bit more money and going to Ocean by H10 in Cancun - a much superior place!
Brisas Guardalavaca: Nice resort needs to be upgraded. Rooms are getting pretty run down.
Grounds were beautiful Rooms need to be upgraded Broken faucet No hot water TV blurry Air conditioning not working Italian restaurant - needs to cook Italian food - or change the restaurant Seafood restaurant overcooks the lobster tails
Melia Varadero: What a dream!
We booked this vacation last minute and were a little terrified that it wasn't going to be great, we were totally blown away by how amazing this hotel and the staff were. Everyone was so sweet and kind, the front desk staff took their time to make sure we were comfortable, our maid Zenaida was perfect! Everything was clean and impressively manicured and the food was really really good (we had been warned about the food but were pleasantly surprised) If you are a foodie or are someone who finds [... read more]
Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: The Dhawa, the best so far.
The talk on the beach is "this is the best so far" Its my second time back in 7 trips to Cuba. The grounds are gorgeous and the Premium Ocean Front View, is exactly that . There are still beach chairs and umbrellas at 9:30 am. The staff, is courteous and engaging if you put in an effort. The fridges are stocked daily, and safe is included in the price. I would go back again. Having said that, the 2 things that I can say in the negative, is that I didnt get my king size bed as requested. Of cour [... read more]
Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Best beach location
The hotel overall is okay, however, the public bathrooms are in terrible shape. No seats, broken urinals and some were closed. The rooms were spacious and clean, with a stocked fridge and a balcony. The beach is by far the best quality of the area. You can walk for miles in either direction. We never went to the pool. But it looked nice. Lots of activities to join in on.Lots of planned activities for the kids, highly recommended for families. One day there was a live band playing poolside. The se [... read more]
Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Geat Resort
We love to this Resort. Everything was clean and friendly and the food was good. I would recommend upgrading to the relaxed section. We had a a la cart breakfast and lunch which was very good and much quieter than the buffet. The Pool was nice and had a good swim up bar. The beach was big and cleaned every day and there was lots of shade. Entertainment was good. Dinner a la carts for great. We did have troubles with her room the air conditioner was broken. We never complained about it because i [... read more]
Melia Marina Varadero: Needs improvement
The resort was not new. Needs alot of work. Not a 5 star. TV only got Spanish channels when it worked which was only 1 day. The staff was friendly and the beach was amazing. The food was good for Cuba.
Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: mediocore resort
things were inconsistent, some morning coffee some mornings none. only blender at one of the bars, others were broken, some mornings mimosas some mornings none. beach was nice, pools nice but by the end of the week they were dirty. grounds were nice, rooms were nice, some days 2 beer left some days only 1. staff for the most part were very friendly. catarmarine excursion was disappointing, no snorkelling at the coral reef. only able to book 2a la cartes, indian was amazing, seafood not so [... read more]
Barcelo Solymar: Good resort, great service, and excellent location!
When you stay at Barcelo Solymar you actually get access to 3 connected resorts. The grounds for all 3 are absolutely beautiful. The beach the resort borders is perfect and was one of the least busy that we've seen on the Veradero strip. You can take your time after eating breakfast and still manage to get a spot under a cabana. There are several nice pools on the resort and all the poolside bars are comfortably out of the water. For hygienic reasons this was actually pretty nice. The loca [... read more]
