Sirenis Tropical Varadero: Awesome week at the Naviti

Room was comfortable, A/c , plumbing all worked fine, remeber you are in Cuba so the food is as good as it gets there, plenty to drink except for the 24 Hr snack bar, my one issue with this resort, Rum is Cuba's national drink and they wouldn't stock the bar at snack bar with rum !! The beach was amazingly clean, even after a wind storm had it covered in debris, gone the next day

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Great resort

The rooms were beautiful and freshly redone when we got there. There are two quiet pools and a main big pool. The staff were so friendly and remembered you by name ! Beautiful place. Would go again!!!

Melia Marina Varadero: Great location and good value for money

This resort has hotel and apartments. We stayed at apartment studio room with marina view. Room was spacious with kitchenette and even a washer. Have patience if you need something. We need to call 5 times to get housekeeping replenish a bottle of bath gel! Buffet was below average, very salty and repetitive. Only thing we like is the fresh papayas. The French restaurant was lousy (both food and service). Would recommend Italian restaurant and the Latin restaurant.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Gorgeous Resort, has a few issues.

“The Good” The hotel and grounds are gorgeous. Checkin/Checkout were simple and fast. We had a suite, and it was spacious and very clean. Beach is absolutely stunning. Weather was amazing. With a bit of experimentation you can find food that is good. We preferred the buffet to the ala carte restaurants. Buffet dinner on New Years Eve was excellent. Restaurant staff was all very helpful and pleasant. Night time entertainment and shows were great and lots of fun. Sunquest staff on-s [... read more]ite was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. “The Issues” The beach chairs were extremely uncomfortable. Lots of people mentioned this. There was an occasional smell of sewage in our room and in the open air theater for nightly entertainment. Room and beach towels are in scarce supply and sometimes not available. Extra bed brought in for our daughter was extremely uncomfortable. A few problems in the room indicative of shortages: burnt out light bulbs not replaced; showerhead holder broken. We focused on the amazing beach and lived with the shortcomings and had a wonderful time.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Great resort!

We were extremely happy with our stay at Memories in Varadero. Our room was always neat and clean; we had fresh towels every day and our room was in the perfect location. The lobby is large and there is always something happening there with people to watch. The whole resort is well kept with beautiful landscaping and wonderful palapas on the beach. I especially loved the mojito bar!! What a great idea!! The Japanese restaurant was fabulous. I would love to go there again.

Memories Jibacoa: Lovely Vacation

Great resort ! Grounds, pool, rooms, beach were clean and beautifully maintained. Service was exceptional! Highly recommend this resort. Smaller resort close to Havana and Varadaro. Lots of activities to participate in if you choose to. Quiet adults only resort. Snorkelling was very good. Can't say enough about the staff !!

Paradisus Varadero: Need to have better service the people thought are very nice that work there.

The hotel is nice although I changed my room to the newer area in the hotel. I think the older area does not look fresh and I don't like that a lot of hotels leave such a gap under the front doors. I don't like lizard in my room and this could be better if they didn't leave a gap under the front door. My sister was in the old area and did not get proper bar service and had no hot water for days. Many people had to be switched because of this problem. I think they need to have better help the way they cook. The service in food areas is not good, only speciality places service is good.

Club Karey: No manager since October 2016

This resort is dated and run down. The staff that used to clean the ocean facing windows has been cut, so if you want to enjoy the view, you will have to clean them yourself. There has been a lot of erosion in the last three months and there isn't anything being done to prevent it. The staff in the buffet were very friendly and helpful. The Punta Blanca section of Club Karey is a 10min. Walk from the lobby.

Club Karey: bad resort

not good we were very disappointed in the condition of the whole resort.it was not clean. we had no television and no phone.some days we had no hydro.the beach was gone we would not consider this resort again or recommed it to anyone.

Club Kawama: Friendly resort

Kawama is a wonderful place to stay if you want a comfortable, enjoyable, and sunny Cuban experience. Although kawama leaves something to be desired at times it is great value for your money. Our family has enjoyed years of memories and have built a great relationship with the staff which is easy considering the friendly environment they provide. Never had a bad experience with our rooms but they are hit or miss. Overall a good time.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Amazing beaches and weather

Booking with tripcentral.ca was flawless and easy. Communication with Cassandra was superb and she was so helpful. Resort was clean and well maintained. Beach was gorgeous and so easy to travel from Ottawa to Cuba and return. Bonus of tripcentral gift card got us park and fly for free....thanks so much for that. Food and service was sub par. Some pushy staff seeking out tips which was off putting. As I said the resort itself was clean and well maintained. Paradisus Varadero: Great beach resort.

Well laid out resort. Very good a la carte restaurants but booking process needs to be more efficient. Process too time consuming(45 minutes) as employee also selling private Havana tours. Older section rooms where we were staying was somewhat dated. Plenty of shade & lounges on beautiful beach and at pool.

Playa Vista Azul: This was a great resort

very clean and people are amazing, rooms clean service and food was good, weather was great, I would return to this resort. entertainment was good, found the beaches a little far but overall great beaches .

Melia Marina Varadero: Amazinf resort

The hotel was amazing and the food was good for Cuba. The best part was the entertainment and friendly staff especially Yamilka and frank the entertainers who were upbeat and ran amazing activities on the beach and at the pool. Very fun and relaxing place. It will now be my "go to" spot in Cuba

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Three Stars

The staff of Iberostar Playa Alameda were amazing. Could not do enough for you and always had a smile on their faces. The rooms were clean but there were plumbing problems with the shower and the towels left something to be desired. There was not enough storage area for clothes and accessories. We were not impressed with the A La Cart restaurants and after trying two of them went to the buffet for the rest of our meals. The beach was lovely and lots of activity around the pool area. The  [... read more]nightly entertainment was excellent. Again, it was the staff that made our vacation enjoyable. More upgrades required to make this a lovely resort.

Palma Real: Hotel Palma Real-a cheap option for budget conscious travellers...

Quick 4 day girls trip to Varadero. Dont expect to check in until 4pm, even if you get there by 1030am...like us.... The staff is very helpful, special shout out to the fabulous bartender Orelsi at the Black and White Bar in the 4th Building. The grounds are clean. The pool bar is good, the pool cold and the cement/patio all around pool in desperate need of painting. The food is ok. Remember, this is a 3star in Cuba....which is like a 2star in Mexico or DR. Limited bars....only the pool b [... read more]ar, lobby bar and the Black and White Bar in 4th Building. There are often lineups but the staff works hard to deliver and will remember you and treat you well. The room is very basic. Cold showers sometimes. 2 twin beds pushed together. Broken dresser. However, who spends time in their rooms? The beach is spectacular. A short stroll....even though you have to walk up a street and cross a street it is still closer than alot of larger resorts. And there are not anywhere close to enough lounge chairs at beach, most are broken, but if you get there by 8am, you will get one. Best location ever in Varadero if you want to be near the night life. Next to Calle 62, steps to the Beatles Bar (great live band) and ate at the amazing steak restaurant (across the street) called Barbacoa. Everyone was from Quebec, a younger crowd. Would I book again? Yes if less than 750$ per week, then a great deal.

Club Kawama: We have been to this hotel over 40 times so we must enjoy it

there are improvements every visit,lighting to all walkways, improved coffee bars, top shelf drinks available,wifi- internet on select areas, better entertainment at night, menu improved, more staff on site etc

Playa Vista Azul: amazing resort

the resort was amazing. the staff was great. my partner can not walk far distances and a staff member jesus got us a wheelchair from his own home for my partner to use for the duration of our stay to get around the resort. i did not get her name but there was a lady who worked the omlette station who was amazing. she always had a smile on her face and was pleased to see you. she made you feel like you were making her happy to order and omlette from her. she shared her knowledge of the area with [... read more] us and gave us tips on best places to see in varadero. i have heard so much bad reviews about the food in cuba. but at the resort there was always a wide selection of food and most of it very good.we never went hungry and always had full happy bellies. the ground were well maintained. there was always someone around taking care of grounds and pool. there was entertainment from one end of the day to the other. always something to do. a negative thing was that the pool was cold. you couldnt enjoy it. the ocean was much warmer than the pool.

Starfish Varadero: nice and clean

The resort is clean and the food is good.the staff are very accomodating. The resort is huge lots of activities to do. Exercise, volleyball, salsa dance, and games. The bar is great they have lots of selection of drinks.

Playa Vista Azul: Spectacular resort

This resort is beautifu! The two different beaches are amazing! The pool is amazing the staff are wonderful! I would highly recommend this resort! The nightly entertainment was always great to sit and watch! Great performers!
