A beautiful site, a great beach and good food . Great people. Process to reserve A la carte restos has to improve. The beach is like paradise. Reservation processes for catamaran and restaurants is very inefficient

Barcelo Solymar: Lovely resort but many things missing

Great staff,happy and grateful. 1 of 5 elevators working for over a week. Check out day, no elevators working for guests: One toilet on the entire main floor with a door That locked ! My room 1362 had no working room phone , No remote for tv; no working fridge: I stayed here twice before in a bungalow with better working amenaties:

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Amazing resort

The hotel was so clean , staff were very friendly and accommodating . I loved the option to have access to the other resorts as well and their restaurants and facilities. The beaches and pools were amazing and well maintained and the food was excellent. Would definitely recommend and come back !

Barcelo Huatulco: Wonderful Vacation!

As this was our first time at an All Exclusive Resort we were not sure what to expect. The Barcelo resort was beautiful- the staff were amazing, the food was great and the pool and beach were fantastic! We didn't have a single complaint and would return again in a heartbeat. Thank you for such a relaxing time!

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Beautifull resort we have been there at least 10,times ,rooms were clean, bed was comfortable.

Grounds and room were well kept , great buffets and a la cart dining was great ,only one miner problem , the room bar fridge in our room did not work , but was replaced with in a couple of hours ,only negative was long delays at baggage pick up at the airport waiting almost 2 hours for my wifes,s walker.and lack of decent food for purchase on the flight.

Barcelo Solymar: Beautiful, clean and friendly

The staff were very welcoming and helpful. I had trouble walking and the staff helped me with my dinner plates and servings. Wish there were more choices for Dinning in the hotel. Not happy with Buffett. Food was average but tasty. No bacon lots of pork servings. Fish was served with bones and that is a big turn off. The main Lobby still haven’t fixed the bathroom and this has been since 2020. Last day all Elevators were down. Beautiful surrounding and location close to the beach. Allegro Playacar: Allegro Playa Del Carmen.

The hotel was small,but everything was close by. But was surprised we had to pay an environmental tax. Think it was 28 pesos per night. The location was great it was a 20 minute walk into 5th Ave Playa downtown. By taxi it was. 5 minute drive and $13 US$. The rooms were small either 1 king bed ,or 2 double beds, but very clean,and the beds were very comfortable. You also got coffee, beer, soft drinks, water in your room every day.They had 2 pools, one had a swim up bar, and activities, the o [... read more]ther one was a bit quieter. They were separated by the beach restaurant. But both were just steps to the beach which was lovely. Drink service was available when sitting at the pool, or the beach. The staff were lovely,and would help you if they could. The food was just okay! The best was lunch down at the pool area. Breakfast and dinner were okay, not great. But you won’t starve. Not many staff members spoke English! If you like small resorts this was great.

Allegro Cozumel: One of the best resorts we have ever been to!!!

Almost pristine grounds, so well manicured and clean! Rooms just enough space, very clean, exceptional beds! Food was so diverse, copious, and some of the best selections! No problem wanting to come back again!

Allegro Cozumel: Great stay

Went to the Allegro Cozumel with a group of 16 people. We all had a great stay. Food was good, loved the specialty restaurants. Staff were friendly and always helpful. The rooms are dated but comfortable. Beds were perfect. The beach was wonderful.

Occidental Punta Cana: Beautiful beach

Everything was amazing - sea, beach, pool, friendly staff, perfect service, everything neat and clean. Nature is charming! We spent lot of time on the beach, sea waves were magical, we couldn't get out of the water! Availability and versatility of food and beverages were impressive. Overall atmosphere - very relaxing and friendly!

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Great resort with excellent dive shop

Great resort with lots to do. Shout out to Judit, Vicktoria and Ilana at the Kessler Dive shop on the property. Went for a wonderful suba dive with Judit. Ilana set me up with jet skiing and was super helpful. Also tried the surf rider. The beach is great in front of this specific resort, although you can use the beach at 3 attached resorts so lots of beachfront. There's also a dolphin enclosure. Date of stay: November 2023

Barcelo Maya Riviera: Beautiful resort

The hotel was absolutely beautiful, way nicer and fancier than expected. All the staff were so helpful and attentive. The rooms were large with comfortable beds (I had the best sleep I’ve had in a while in that hotel bed) along with beautiful views. The restaurants were amazing on a restaurant level, not just “good for a resort”. The resort is very modern and grand and aesthetic, great to take pics. We loved it!

Barcelo Solymar: Great resort second time here!

I have been to this resort before. This time there were alot of steady shortages. Sometimes no eggs in the morning or ham. Rarely had coffee, cappuccino machine broken. 4 out of 11 days they ran out of beer at the bars. Usually they had more by afternoon. I was aware of the shortages so it didn’t bother me. Great place for families, pools very clean. The grounds well Maintained. Staff was very helpful. In the dining room we got to know David , always had our favourite table waiting for us , and our morning beverage order ready

This is a resort that lives up to it's 5 star rating. The Grounds, Rooms, Pools and Beach were all first class. The Food was the best I have ever had at an All Inclusive Resort. The 3 Specialty restaurants had great food and service. The Buffet for breakfast and Lunch, usually gets old fast. Not this one, such a huge selection and both my wife and I remarked that we had enough choices to change it up everyday. Thanks to Jessica B in guest services who explained it to me and provided the letter. Huge resort great for walking and felt completely safe.

Barcelo Maya Palace: Review about Barcelo Maya Palace

This was the first time we booked vacation through trip central, very happy with the service from Beth & Manuela, thank you. The resort is beautiful, huge but very clean, the staff are really nice, helpful. Foods from buffets are tasty & lots of varieties. Room is clean but a little bit dated. Beach with white sands, no seaweeds, so amazing. Overall such a nice vacation so relaxed & happy. We recommend this resort.

Occidental Caribe: Great food! good entertainment!

My wife and I really enjoyed the buffet. It had plenty of options and they changed every day. At times it got busy and it took just a few extra minutes to have our table cleaned, but nothing serious. In the buffet, Editania was very helpful and always greeted us with a great smile! We only went to one restaurant with a reservation, the Japanese tepanyakki table. Food was good, but it was very hot (no AC no ceiling fans). Based on that experience we didn't book other restaurants. Barcelo Maya Palace: Amazing resort!

Check-in was smoth and efficient, Restaurants were all excellent Staff were happy and friendly, the property was clean and well maintained. Ample amount of lounge chairs at the pool and the beach. Pools are large and clean. Rooms have lots of storage. Beds are firm. Huge resort with 2 double decker busses come every 15-20mins. Lots of activities available on site. Lots of coral and fish at the beach,

Occidental Punta Cana: NOW OWNED BY BARCELO.TERRIBLE. CATERED TO LOCALS AND SPANISH SPEAKING.

I wrote a review on tripadvisor, but they didn't post it. Here is what we experienced and saw. We stayed here several years ago when it was a 5 star. It is owned by Barcelo now. I wouldn't even rate it more than a 3 star now. Several hundred locals came from Friday to Monday. The staff and management catered to them. Management set up a lovely welcome station for them with trays and trays of drinks. We were never offered that when we arrived. The garbage left all over the resort was unhealthy. The seating area was unclean and tables were unwashed and left with used cutlery on used place mats. The staff was disorganized and inefficient. I think they were so overwhelmed. A couple had sex in the pool. That's right. We complained to management but we were dismissed and he walked away. We were shocked at the treatment we received. We will return to the Dominican, but we will never stay there again or at any other Barcelo.
