Roc Barlovento: Fourth time to Cuba, 1st time staying at the ROC..
It has probably the best beach in Cuba. AMAZING!!!!!! as for the resort, very outdated, pool loungers scarce and next to no shade. Beds were comfy, and room relatively clean. A/C worked great. Staff definitely pleasant and always willing to help. Food (well it's Cuba) same thing every night. Breakfast of course being the best. Biggest issue was a pack of homeless dogs who hung around. Woke us up every morning barking. As long as you go with no expectations this resort is fine.
Club Karey: Terrible expirience
On arrival had to wait for room at least 2 hours.Room itself not clean. Towels and bed sheets stained. Not enough coat hangers.Water pressure very week, hard to take a shower. Food-we had few choices but it was't pleasant because there were to many flays. After few days we were forced by the staff to move to different room(all the vacationers from our building and the building next to us to).The reason for that was that these two building were next to a complex, fenced off with three huge villas [... read more]
Roc Barlovento: good resort, old but beautiful.
good beach, good location in town, rooms clean. The new Vintage bar which only opens on Saturday and Sunday is the best on the Island. Classy premium drinks at minimum cost served by a gentleman, Javier. 4th time at this hotel, 15th time in Cuba.
Club Kawama: Good People
It was clean and had all I needed it.. I would probably come back to this place in the future !! I hope they can improve the food just a bit and I think people will visit this place more often. Other than the food, all of it its great!!!
Club Kawama: Very nice, friendly resort.
Really enjoyed this resort. Recommend asking for a room closer to the beach bar at the far end of the resort if you want a quieter, relaxing stay. If you want to be around all the action and loud music...then I recommend you stay right near the lobby and main pool.
Club Kawama: Amazing Vacation for the value
We stayed in a superior room at Club Kawama Veradaro Cuba and took full advantage of the al a cart for dinner..Met amazing people that return every year..The staff was professional and willing to help with any questions or concerns...I would recommend this hotel to anyone.. The bar and snacks available 24/7...bank 2 min walk and downtown also a short walk or 5 dollar cab ride...great clubs in town..recommend horse and buggy toyr...going back in April...love all my new friends...
Club Kawama: Great value
Resort grounds were impressive. Staff very friendly. Food was typical for Cuba (this was my second trip to Cuba). Highly recommend al la carte restaurants. Room was a bit sketchy, but spent most of our time outdoors. Great location - close to downtown and so really cool historical landmarks! Would return to Club Kawarma for sure.
Club Kawama: Good Resort
This was our first time going to Cuba, my wife and I enjoy the time in Club Kawama. Of course we wouldn't expect a 4 or 5 star because the price we paid was very reasonable for what we got. The people was very friendly and we felt very secure. We could recommend this place to friends because of the beach, the location and over all is nice. Food is ok but not the best. If I could rate the food from 1 to 10 (10 being the best) I would said is between 4 and 6. My advice is that if you paid a fair p [... read more]
Club Kawama: Just Okay
The hotel was not good. Our room was leaking, was infested with mosquitoes and very old. Each day the maid would fold the wet towels. The grounds were better. The pool was nice but often very dirty and the service wasn't the greatest.
Club Kawama: Old and run down
I didn't have high hopes when we booked our trip to Club Kawama knowing it was listed as a 3 star resort but even my low expectations were not met. We travelled with 2 children under 2 (5 mths and 19 mths) which can be "challenging" at the best of times. Our "upgraded" room was very run down and old. The tub/shower was very beat up and dirty and the toilet seat was in desperate need of replacement as was the bathroom sink and counter. The buffet was awful and there was always garbage (cups) arou [... read more]
Club Kawama: Okay Resort
The grounds are well kept. The ocean is beautiful. The pools were kept clean. The snack bar is the best part of the food, you could get a hotdog or hamburger, or a ham and cheese sandwich. The food at the buffet was disappointing, Hot food should be hot. I was very unhappy with the food. Been to Cuba a couple times and this was the worst. People are nice, staff is friendly.
Hotel Inglaterra: disgracful hotel
bed bugs, roaches, no working A/C, worst hotel ever.front desk staff not very helpful in finding me a decent room, would never return to this place, very surprised sunwing would promote this place, total disgrace.
Club Kawama: A great deal!
Front desk was very accommodating. Our rooms were very close to everything in the resort. Food could be better, there was a lot and fresh, but it lacked flavour. Rooms were standard, a bit too small, but who goes to Cuba to stay in the room!
Club Kawama: Beautiful Beach But.....
The beach was amazing but, as in what we saw of Varadero very dirty, litter everywhere!! No fault of the beach!! Our room in the 4000 block was just steps away from the sand, hence our room being full of sand, no fault of the very polite cleaning staff. All inclusive does not mean just that at this resort. A full week with absolutely no hot water and sometimes no water at all. We had to pay for a safe and bottled water, and the entertainment was hit and miss if it occurred at all. The disco shou [... read more]
Club Karey: third time
same room no problemo. right by the beach. third time. 7 days too short, next time at least 11. good price .............................................................................................................................................................................
Club Karey: Very Tired
Hotel is in need of repairs. Beautiful location on the water but rooms are in poor shape. The people do the best with what they have to make your vacation a positive experience. The buffet lacked options, same food served day after day.
Club Kawama: Club Kawama
This was a last minute trip and we had a wonderful stay at Club Kawama. We had never been to Cuba before but will definitely go back and stay at the same resort. We enjoyed the Jeep Safari and the trip to Havana. The resort was close enough to walk to Varadero.
Hotel Villa Cuba: I love villa cuba
I really enjoy staying in the villas. You have your own space as well as your own yard complete with pool. Also when we go with family we can all stay in the same villa and enjoy the use of the living and dining rooms for socializing or games. Each villa has 4-6 rooms so grab your friends and book one today! Additionally they have a sky bar where we go for the best pina coladas before dinner to watch the sun set through its 360 view.
Occidental Arenas Blancas: Average hotel, great beach
We were looking for somewhere in Varadero that was reasonably priced, but an ok hotel. This place was fine for what we paid, but don't expect a beautiful hotel. Large facility, and food was much better than expected.
Hotel Villa Cuba: Nothing spectacular
We just spent a week at this hotel. Having been to Cuba 5 times we knew what to expect and not to expect. During other trips we drive by this hotel and from the outside I always thought it must be a neat hotel. We booked last minute and got a great deal which was a bonus. Had I paid full price I would have been extremely disappointed. Service was all over the map. Some were great while other staff was down right rude and ignorant. I found front desk to be not helpful. We had a CAsa room which wa [... read more]
