Playa Vista Azul: wonderful experience at Oceans Vista Azul

Our second trip to the resort provided an even better experience than the first. We upgraded to privilege package which allowed us to stay in a separate area with its own pool, restaurant, bar areas as well as customer service area to handle all of our needs. The 8 month old facility was spectacular with everything you could want in a suite. Having a patio overlooking the pool became our breakfast go to place each morning. A couple snags with housekeeping that were addressed immediately. WIFI was vastly better than 2 years ago, had no issues at all there.Food was good overall, they tend to over cook fish and meat so note to ask how you want it cooked. House wine is poor I suggest you buy a couple bottles at duty free and bring them to the dinner with you. If you have kids its a good idea to bring the mini restaurant condiment packages for ketchup, peanut butter etc. The beach is a bit of a hike and somewhat crammed but still quite nice with lots of sand, beach activities, cabanas, and loungers. An inflatable floatie for the pool or ocean would work well if we thought of it. Staff overall were great to deal with.

Ocean Coral Spring: Amazing Jamaican people

I had a great time at this hotel mostly due to the people. They are so happy and do there best to make you comfortable and happy. Beautiful hotel and amenities. The only very negative thing I experienced at this hotel is that. They told me i had this orientation to show me the resort and other rooms etc. The Jamaican staff were very nice and did there jobs great but the bosses of these staff members which have to do with the privilege membership depatment were pushing and some rude how they spok [... read more]e to my mother and I, implying we dont make financial decisions and my husband could. As if we are not living in 2020. Anyways all I can say is dont let those Spanish ppl in that deptarment foul u, what they are selling is a joke basically discount flights for 79 000 to 99000 for 25 years to get discounts on flights. So stupid and then when I said no it doesnt work for us. This one guy sent his boss to sell it all over again (Jose) at the end they wanted us to make a decision right away and we caouldnt think about it. I feel bad for the ppl they scammed. Other then this orientation which u dont have to go to which i didnt know at the time wasted 90 mins for nothing of my vacation time on this hilarious ppl. Other then that I recommended this place for sure amazing fun and people. The resort is functioning and beautiful.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: A bit rough, but everything you need for a week in the sun

Good value for your money resort. Rooms are clean, food is good if you stick to the options at the buffet you like. A la cartes not worth the time lining up. Some sprucing up is definitely need though. Lobby bar entertainment was usually better than theater shows. Overall would go back for a cheap week away in the sun.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Very disappointing for a 5 star resort

This was my 4th trip to Cuba & unfortunately not one of the better ones! The lobby is quite nice, but too small to accommodate guests for the evening entertainment. Our room was run down. The screen door was broken, the drapes were hanging off the rod. The bedspread was stained. (That came off the bed immediately & stayed on the floor until we left) there was a large ball of hair on the shower floor. The el a carts were embarrassing & a waste of time. The Italian restaurant didn’t offer Italia [... read more]n food. The Chinese was a little better, but only had 1 Chinese dish.... however it did offer shrimp & chicken pasta. The gourmet restaurant was everything but Gourmet!! The beach was terrible. There was only a small amount of umbrellas crammed together. The beach wasn’t groomed. Part of a great stay in Cuba is the beach & this beach was terrible!! The pool is nice, but not enough shade. You can have a tattered plastic umbrella if you pay the pool boy. The only pool daytime activities were from 2-3:30 and then nothing. There was only one night of entertainment in the theatre & that was very amateurish. I always brag about the Cuban people being friendly & welcoming..... not at this resort..... the staff was very robotic. No one tried to engage in conversation or tried to earn tips.... I would not recommend this resort!!

Ocean Blue and Sand: Very good resort

My wife and I visited ocean blue with our son march 6th to the 13th good trip staff was friendly and took good care of us the buildings need work our room was beautiful but our sons room was moldy and the air condition didn't work he complained 3 times they didn't move him till I went to the manager food was above average beach is eroded pretty bad pool staff fantastic had a great time didn't do anything our anniversary would consider going back

Ocean El Faro: Very nice resort!

Just returned on March 13th from Ocean El Faro, travelled with friends and with hubby. Unfortunately, during our stay it rained a lot, almost every day. The resort is big, fairly new, nice layout. Beach not so great, because it's rocky, but you will find some areas where you can walk in the ocean without any problems (specially at the lagoon). Rooms are nice, clean and spacious, bed is very comfy, A/C works fine, no issue with hot water at all, early morning or late at night always had hot [... read more] water. Mini fridge stacked every day. Blow dryer is great in the bathroom. Drinks are good, food is ok, not the same quality as Mexico, but you will not stay hungry, always find something to eat. Italian and Japanese restaurants are excellent, also BlueMoon , but the Steakhouse we did not like it at all. Entertainment crew is very funny , sometimes too loud at the poolside, but we enjoyed it regardless. Foam Party is a real fun! Overall it is a great resort, we liked it and had a great time! Don't believe all the negative reviews, some people over complain about every small thing, instead enjoy and appreciate the fact that you have the opportunity to travel to a destination where there are palm trees, ocean and sunshine. Well, perhaps now is not a time to travel, but down the road it will possible again

Ocean Blue and Sand: Great trip!

Recently stayed at this resort with my soon to be wife. Met some family there. The room we were first in was an older room, hadn't had any renovations as of yet. The A/C did not work which made it hard to sleep. After some talking with the staff we were put in to an amazing room and they were very accommidating. The food and enteratin were very good and pools were fantastic. The beach suffered from storms but didn't seem to affect the 10 days there. Great place to relax and enjoy good company!

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: A little disappointing

Took more than a day to get hot water. Very difficult to get towels. No 110 converter. Why wants to be going going to guest services every day on your holiday. Order the same thing on the menu but get a different version of it. Fries was the one thing that everyone knew to be the same but they were rearely brought out.

this was a great place clean and friendly room was very clean and comfordable food is what you expect all an all I would give it 8 out of10 tour to Havana was not worth the fee Canadian money is excepted at us rate of exchange

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Solid 4 star

Great location, short walk to beach, nice pools - could have used more loungers, if you didn't reserve one by 6 am most were gone, not enough loungers on beach as well, only 2 per palapa, not ideal fo family of 5. Nice beach, great for walks, only a little seaweed. Food was good overall but at lunch beach grill lacked variety, and main buffet was noisy, daisy grill was small and hit or miss. Lots of choices for dinner but again you had to be there early if you wanted a specific time, did not li [... read more]ke having to rush down every night with kids only to find out we couldn't eat till 8:30 (privilege can make reservations) Had fun bowling, watching shows, enjoying drinks and music at he lobby in the evening. Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Disappointing!

At first glance, the hotel looks amazing. The room was adequate. we upgraded to "privilege" at extra cost a got a room without a shower - just a hand-held shower wand. The buffet was horrible. Minutes after the buffet opened, the food was already cold. The food in Cuba is never good but this was absolutely disgusting. We lived on bread, butter and bland pasta for the week. The a la carte restaurants were hugely disappointing - nowhere near the "asian" or "italian" they claimed to be. The "privil [... read more]ege" lounge was never opened, the privilege area of the pool was never monitored nor had enough chairs. There was no real entertainment - the bank closed when the teller felt like he wanted a break. The hotel store had enough room for one customer at at time and had little merchandise. As privilege customers, we were entitled to premium drinks but were never offered any - the bars had no coke to make drinks . The pools were missing tiles. The one redeeming feature of the hotel is Alberto our privilege host. This young man is the most accommodating pleasant helpful and genuine person. The hotel needs to make sure to keep him!!!!!!

Beautiful resort, food not so much, beach towels were not easy to get, run out of wine, by third day, food not good , never seen potatoes or vegetables all week. Have been to Cuba many times but will think twice about going back

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Satisfied with a couple disappointments

The hotel service, and the room, was very good. The SUNWING REP WAS VERY ARROGANT AND NOT HELPFUL AT ALL,!! he told us outright if we didn't tip we wouldn't get any service, and he didn't give us a chance to tip him, he wouldn't any questions for us.For that reason I would hesitate to book with sun-wing again, The bell boys on the other hand were very helpful they got us a private excursion, and helped with anything we needed. Playa Vista Azul: Worst resort I have ever been to in cuba

I have travelled to Cuba resorts for 10 years and have always looked forward to going back. Until now. I have never stayed at such an terrible resort in Cuba in all of my 10years. The food was disgusting. The hotel is only five years old and looks like it is about 20 years old and never been painted. Met two cockroaches for a first in Cuba running around my room upon arrival. The dishes at the buffet had to be checked before you put food on them as someone’s last meal was still there. The frui [... read more]t was can, never fresh. Most food was cold the 4 restaurants did not take reservations and could only seat about 40persons at a tile and people who paid extra had first choices. The hotel has about 900 rooms. Restaurant to small for resort. Ran out of white wine three out of six days. I was told I couldn’t have another glass of wine at supper one nite because it was warm.The bed spreads were dirty. I could go on and on but I just want to forget my worst vacation ever. Advertising as a 4plus. Would not even give a three star. Trip central needs to check out there stars a bit closer. The only think good was the ocean view. I think I should win the contest just for what we put up with. Will second guess trip central next time. Even the staff at the bar at the front were unfriendly,which is so unusual for Cuba. Would not even recommend to my worst enemy.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Wonderful Resort !!

This resort was amazing from the moment we entered. As soon as you were checked in which was quick and efficient you walk out the front doors of the lobby and the ocean and pool were directly in front of you within feet. Closest resort we have ever been to the actual ocean. Our room was 14305. It was a short walk from the lobby and completely covered so if there was any rain it was no worry to get to different amenities on the resort. The room was a garden view room but just over the pa [... read more]lm trees you could actually see the ocean. The room was so spacious and clean. Everything at this resort was a very short walk. The set up was very convenient and efficient for getting around to the different amenities. The bowling was amazing. We bowled every day and it was big ball bowling so we had never done this before. We enjoyed daily ice cream from the ice cream parlor and specialty drinks from Mikes Café. The food was amazing at all the a la cartes and the buffet. We loved that no reservations were required for a la cartes beside the Sensai. The beach was very well cared for with not a lot of seaweed. It was however very windy the entire week we were there so it was hard to stay on the beach because it was so cold and the sand was pelting off you. Our only complaint was not enough chairs on the beach and especially at the pools. We did not get a chair at the pool till our final day as a lot of the guests reserve chairs using there towels by 7am. We enjoyed the entertainment. There was a lion king, grease, and a fire and light show which were amazing. The other nights we were not overly impressed with the entertainment. We also enjoyed a day at the spa. The actual spa amenities that you get to use while being there were amazing. We just were not overly impressed with the services for the price we paid. Upon leaving we checked with Air Transat the day before departing as we were directed to do so because of the time change that occurred while we stayed. We were informed to be checked out at 7:20 and the airport transfer would be at 8:20 am. We were all checked on the morning of leaving and went to breakfast. When we came back our shuttle to the airport had left without us. We had no Air Transat Rep to talk to because they were not in till 9am. We therefore had to get a cab to the airport and pay out of pocket. We were so stressed. Got to the airport and still no one to talk to about what happened. It was a $40 US fee to get us to the airport and we would have been ready if they told us the proper times. This wasn't the resorts fault but I thought it should be brought up and I wouldn't want someone else to have it happen to them. Amazing resort !!

Ocean Blue and Sand: Overall good 4/5

Overall we enjoyed our stay with the Privileged upgrade. While we weren’t “wowed” by anything, there wasn’t much to complain about either. I’d recommend trying if at a good price. However, we’ll probably try another resort on our next trip in our search for “the best” in this price range.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Great resort!

This resort was really nice, modern, and clean! The rooms were beautiful, the food was always really great, and the staff was friendly and helpful. We really loved swimming in the ocean, even though it was a bit of a rocky area we still enjoyed it. The pools were a bit cold for our liking but still nice, and the entertainment at El Beso was always fun. The major downfall of our trip was that we had paid to stay in the Eden Building when we booked through Trip Central, but when we got to our reso [... read more]rt, they told us we were booked in the Daisy Building. We had to spend the whole week listening to screaming and crying kids in the morning... Even though my boyfriend and I don't have kids and did not want to stay in the Daisy Building. We still had a nice stay but we tried to avoid spending as little time in our room as possible to avoid the kiddy pool and building. If you don't like being around kids, definitely don't book the Daisy Building.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: OUTSTANDING resort!!!!

Had the most AMAZING time! Such a beautiful resort! Clean, well maintained, and most importantly, have the friendliest people working there! A fantastic variety of restaurants to choose from, and even though we didn’t take the prestige package, we found that we didn’t ever have to wait more than 20 minutes to get a table. We would DEFINITELY choose to go back, and would of course recommend this resort to others!

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Ocean Casa Del Mar Review

Ocean Casa Del Mar in Cayo Santa Maria February 28th to March 6th was where we spent our vacation. The hotel was very very good and so is the room in the service we were impressed with the quality of service that we received from both dining staff and bus boys and all those that have anything to do with us we're more than Pleasant and helpful the beaches were beautiful. We would recommend this location to our friends for future getaway.
