Riu Playa Blanca: Awesome Resort
We travel extensively. Over 25 all inclusive resorts and this was one of the best. The weather was amazing and the food was very good in buffet and a la Carts. It was hot and good variety. The negative was the beach. It's a large beach but sand gets too hot and not great for swimming. The drug dealers that want to take you for horse back rides are a pain too. The adult pool is incredible because they strictly enforce no children allowed. The bar staff was incredible except the one woman at swim [... read more]
Riu Caribe Cancun: Great Resort
Excellent service. They have the menus setup with QR codes which makes it way easier for people who don’t speak Spanish. Bring your own stuff as it is very expensive buying there. The buffet was amazing. 8/10
Riu Bambu: Good resort
Rooms are spacious and kept clean. Food is good but most of the dishes very salty. Resort and pools are nice and maintained well. Bars were excellent. Some of the night entertainment was good.Meat dishes were tough and hard to eat. It would be good if the food could cut down the salt especially for people with health problems .
Riu Palace Costa Rica: Riu Palace
The grounds and lobby were stunning. The rooms were very tired and need updating. It was musty smelling. All our clothes had that stale smell. Air conditioner needs cleaning as we felt that was where the meldew smell was from.
Riu Ocho Rios: do not go here !
Just arrived home 2/28/2024 after a week at Riu Ocho Rios. This was my first time in Jamaica & will be my last. #1 My sons wife was physically assaulted by another guest (A Jamaican living in Canada but there on vacation) this man harassed all of the women in our group of 12, minding our own business having a drink outside the sports bar in the lounge area. He was told nicely to leave once, came back 10 mins later with more of an attitude. My 29 year old daughter in-law was going to attempt to [... read more]
Riu Santa Fe: 4 star all the way!
Comes as advertised. Super clean. Plenty of food choices for even the picky eaters. It would be nice if my kids weren't offered drugs every time they walk towards the beach. Kind of annoying to have the human seagulls just sitting there waiting for you.
Riu Republica: Sub Par experience
The hotel of Riu Republica was generally satisfactory in most concerns a guest may have. Service in areas lacked and general maintenance of the resort was poorly maintained in spots. The staff was generally positive depending on which area or activity you we’re partaking in. Drinks also generally inconsistent on how strong or light they would be served.
Riu Yucatan: Nice place
Beach is really nice and big great for swimming, unfortunately if you want a chair on beach get up early. I was going down at 6 am to get good location. Pool is nice swim up is small very crowded there is a quiet pool also. They have smoking areas that most people will use but there’s always so inconsiderate smokers. There not supposed to smoke on balcony. Room needs updating very small in closed toilet room, small shower and one sink but enough counter space. Food was very good at all restauran [... read more]
Riu Reggae: Riu reggae is a great resort!
From arrival to departure, everything was great! The grounds, the food, the staff, the entertainment crew is second to none! They work long hours and are consistently cheerful and outgoing! We especially loved Afro! Don’t miss the “white party”. Loved our entire stay!
Riu Bambu: Peaceful and relaxing
Just returned from the trip to Riu Bambu, Punta Cana. Overall it was very nice trip. Room was clean and staff lovely. Both Sunwing agents Jonathan and Raysa were very helpful and professional. Thanks to them, trip that started with some challenges turned in to relaxing vacation.
Riu Guanacaste: Riu Guanacaste
This was our 2nd time at this hotel. Staff and location are still awesome! However the hotel is looking old, and needs to be refreshed. Given the new hotel being built across the street I’m hoping this will happen. Food is decent, but no where as good as many other RIU locations.
Riu Emerald Bay: Great resort for kids
We traveled to the Riu Emerald Bay for a week in February 2024 with our two kids aged 5 and 8. Overall, the kids had a great time, even though we did find the resort lacking in a few ways. We stayed in the tower with a beautiful oceanview. The tower rooms are very dated and in need of an overhaul - small, uncomfortable beds, chairs on the balcony were cheap plastic patio chairs - which was an issue since we hung out outside each night after the kids went to bed. Also no light on the balcon [... read more]
Riu Republica: Amazing Resort
The hotel was great! The resort is huge. It has so many pool areas, a beautiful beach area with plenty of chairs and shaded area. This resort has so many things to do. The food was good and what I liked the most is the friendly and super nice staff. I would recommend this resort!
Riu Playa Blanca: Review
It was fine / good. Little underwhelming for a 5-Star resort but was okay. Food kinda sucked. & the A la carte resto [Steakhouse] was next to impossible to get into. Service was great. Not a tonne of things to do at the resort in the evenings. Food advice: focus on quality over quantity.
Riu Cancun: fantastic overall resort!
Great location, 20mins from airport, 15 floors, 3 mins walk to pool and beach from lobby. Very clean, well maintained, all rooms are great and all face the ocean. Every buffet and other specialty restaurants had great delicious food choices. The Beach was like powdered sugar, Crystal clear waters and no seaweed or bugs. Some cons are the beach is full sun, no shade until 3pm or so when the sun goes behind the hotel. The gym is really small and not many choices for weights, but we managed. 1 [... read more]
Riu Cancun: Almost perfect!
The RIU Cancun met all our expectations. Perfect location about 20 min from the airport. Small but pristine beach with perfect sand and water (no seaweed or rocks). Hotel atmosphere was bang on. Staff incredible and very helpful, we needed blankets and an AC fix and both were immediate. Food was so good with amazing buffet options and the drinks were perfect. Shows every night and even a shuttle to the sister RIU for parties if that’s your thing. The view from the 15th floor was breathtaking! Cl [... read more]
Riu Playa Blanca: Nice resort
The hotel was very clean! It felt very safe. Any concerns were immediately addressed as they have the staff to rectify them quickly. Breakfast was are favorite meal. Fresh breads and fruit were awesome.
Riu Montego Bay: A piece of Paradise.
Our second time at the Riu MONTEGO Bay. Very nice time. Real nice place to relax, have drinks and eat real delicious Jerk Chicken. Nice staff and good service. Thank you . Good, nice, warm , clean.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,.
Riu Ocho Rios: Perfect resort
We had an amazing time at this resort and never ran out of things to do. Private beach is located very close to the rooms making it relaxing to not have to walk far at all. Multiple pools and with scheduled events such as foam parties with music keep you entertained. Grounds are always maintained and service is exceptional as everybody is friendly. Rooms are kept clean everyday as if it was the first day you walked in, housekeeping does an amazing job. Bartenders are very friendly at all bars. F [... read more]
Riu Flamingos: Riu Jalisco
Everything was good. The staff at the hotel were very good and they were there to help you if you when we needed something. Cleaning staff were very helpful and respectful. Food was good but the Gluten free food was not well displayed and some of the service staff had problems understanding what we needed.
