Bahia Principe Grand Samana Roulette: Amazing Resort

The hotel looks great overall. It looks very classy and clean. However our room has roof leak when it rained. I think they need to fix it. Employees are all polite. Only downside is that some dont speak english so it is hard to communicate. The view is amazing! Our balcony view is breathtaking!

Viva V Samana by Wyndham: Simply Amazing

Stayed at Viva Wyndham for a week in mid August. From the moment we arrived we knew we had made a great choice. Staff are amazing and make you feel like you are an old friend. Rooms clean and well appointed, food at buffet and a la cartes great, beach stunning. We would highly recommend this hotel to adults looking for a quiet getaway. If you're looking for a party resort keep looking, lol

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Best vacation

It is perfect . The rooms are very big and clean , the restaurant and bars are always on the point the staff are very nice. the trip from the airport to the hotel is breathtaking with beautiful view . The pools are clean . Everything was amazing

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Ok resort!

We stayed from Aug 7-14, 2016. The hotel was nice. The staff was friendly. Some issues we encountered: 1. Room was dated. 2. Bath tub had stains. 3. Ran out of water while in the middle of a shower. 4. Cockroach in the room. We've told the front desk about these and was advised they will have someone look at it. They cleaned our room and left 2 shirts and a small bottle of liquor in the room, I guess to appease us. Food and drinks are good. There are times when some are too salty. We've [... read more] had a few occasions when we've had to wait a loooong time to get some agua. Also, dinner at Dolce Vita took the longest. We left after 1 hr & 45 mins. Dessert took so long so we decided to just have some coffee at the lobby bar. The beach was small, not white sand! The pools were ok. The beach and hills villa pools are more private and quiet. Overall it was an ok stay. We won't come back.

Resort is massive! Beautiful! Clean and well maintained. It's got spectacular views from every point. Food was great! We had a fabulous stay! And we definitely recommend Grand Bahia Principe Cayacoa. We would def consider coming back!

The grounds are beautiful- although the rooms are a little dated. The beach area is small but nice and at no time did I feel like it was lacking anything. The great thing about the beach is there is a lunch time buffet set up everyday so you can eat without going into the hotel. The hotel is a small hotel in the sense that its only 250 rooms so at no time do you feel overwhelmed by people. The food was good and the resort was very clean. Cayo Levantado Resort: Wonderful Resort

We have been travelling to Samana first time and found this trip amazing. We loved everything, especially FOOD - was delicious and healthy! We really enjoyed our time there as we felt like hard working and very and dedicated staff became family and friends and was always offering to help.

Cayo Levantado Resort: 3 Time to this Paradise of an Island

If you are looking for a quiet relaxing vacation look no further. Cayo Levantado is the place. With it being a private island and a smaller hotel you truly can soak up the sun and with it being a Bahia Principe Don Pablo Collection resort you know you will be able to enjoy all the services offered by this well know company. Staff tries to ensure you want for nothing.

Bahia Principe Grand Samana Roulette: Great Resort

We recently booked the Air Canada Samana Roulette and stayed at the Grand Bahia Principe Cayacoa. We had a excellent experience; the al carte's were top notch and I highly recommend. You only have to visit the booking agent once for all of your reservations (you don't have to show up every morning). The food was excellent and the rooms were amazing. This resort is spotless ... we upgraded to the Jr Suite and our room was really nice and spacious. Because we booked the Roulette our package  [... read more]did not include a safe, which I thought was a little petty considering we did paid to upgrade our room ($28.00 US for the week). The staff are very polite and friendly. Pool is very nice with the exception of two sounds systems being played at the same time, not a big deal. Everything about this resort is amazing with one exception ... the beach is lacking. The beach bar and lunch deck is very good and there are enough beach chairs available throughout the day, the downfall is the actual beach. It is not the resort's fault, but we had some rain and there was some garbage washing up from town. Overall I would come back to this resort again and I highly recommend.

Nice size rooms, clean and updated. Food was good, service was A+. Only thing I didn't like was smoking was permitted anywhere outside. Would also have liked to see the entertainment be done outside rather than indoors.

Enjoyed our stay overall, despite number of flaws that are created by the management for whatever reason. The food, the people who served us (especially in the restaurant and entertaining team were just great. The place is gorges and I like that you need to walk up and down all the time (unless you are lazy and taking shuttle). One BIG think: limited internet!!! Come on. we are in 21st century. Wyndham Alltra Samana: Excellent!

We love this resort!!! Wonderful beach, amazing grounds, good food, very relaxing!!! Rooms are cozy and clean, do not smell like mold, cleaning ladies do a good job, no problems with tap water. The only drawback was loud air condition but at least it did a good job to cool the room. Buffet was good too and food was always hot and fresh. We will be back!

Beautiful unique resort with nice separate beach and pool areas. Great views and entertainment staff were nice. Very quiet in spots for private relaxing. Food was outstanding especially on gala night and maids putting rose petals on the bed was a nice touch

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Really good resort!

Hotel is good, staff's friendly, beach - awesome, scores of pretty fishes right at the edge of the water. Internet is only in the lobby and really slow, but otherwise - it is a fantastic place to stay!

Cayo Levantado Resort: Absolutely breathtaking resort!

My husband and I stayed at the Luxury Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado and absolutely loved the entire experience. The resort is stunning, beaches offer both fun open ocean with waves and calm side to play in, grounds are beautiful, pools are fantastic and sparkling clean all the time! The staff are just great, warm and genuine and truly care about the guests! Restaurants were very good as well, including the buffet! Loves the jogging track around the beautiful property! Every positive review you read about this place is true. I cannot remember anything negative. All the bars close at 11 pm, but if you want to party more the disco opens then. Book a la cartes early, they are worth it.

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Very nice resort!

The grounds were beautiful and nicely maintained. The views were spectacular! The hotel was clean and neat, room maintenance was timely and good. The hotel corsierge was immediately responsive to our requests to change light bulbs and provide us with robes. The food was very very good, varied, colorfully decorated, and hearty. Lots of fish, legumes, pasta, veggies, fruits, fruit juices, and sweets on a daily basis. Special theme nights were also very good, especially the Dominican night. The entertainment (animacion) was quite good, especially the Michael Jackson show (a true channeling of Michael Jackson!) Beaches were good but with a little bit of difficulty finding chairs and shade in the main beach. We did not use the pool at all because it was extremely crowded with the influx of a large group from Newfoundland who arrived with two bands (very good by the way), and there, all the chairs were taken as well. The Spanish lessons were fun! The animacion team was very nice and fun, too, especially Miguel, who is a great natural dancer! Overall, it was a very nice experience and I would go back.

Wyndham Alltra Samana: Best trip so far

I went as a last minute trip for the first time by myself. It was a little far from the airport but once i got there, i personally found it was totally worth the wait. There was two beaches faces the front and side of the hotel. Both were accessible and had amazing soft sand with beautiful turquoise water (as one would expect of such a place). The atmosphere was naturally very laid back and a lot of great international people were met. I had a real blast and cannot wait to go back!

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Food (5 Star) Room (Superior?? 1 Star)

The grounds and pool areas are beautiful and well maintained. The buffet and restaurants (Italian and Brazilian recommended) were exceptional, offering a variety of foods (highlight of our trip). The pools were wonderful as well as plenty of chairs and shaded areas. We spent most of our time at the "relax pool" which had spotless restrooms and a bar (Franco the bartender - highlight of our trip as well). Only had 4 to 5 couples there everyday until the beach people started coming in around 4:00  [... read more]for their happy hour before supper. If you are a beach person, this is the resort for you as the pools are not large enough to accommodate the size of the resort. The accommodations and front desk day manager was a whole different story. We arrived at the resort about 1:00 pm Thursday to find out that we had no room. They could not seem to find a room for a full 2 week period. He asked us if we were there for 7 or 10 days and we responded that our reservation was for 14 days. He apologized and said that he did not have an available room but we could check back with him after we had lunch. We heard later from the WestJet rep that the resort was overbooked and they were asking people in the lobby if they would consider relocating to Bahia Cayo. We were finally assigned a room at 3:30 pm and realized that we had to be shuttled there as it was at the far end of the resort. When we initially booked this resort we were told we would be close to the ocean (Building Three) as the Tripcentral agent indicated that there was no oceanfront rooms due to layout of the villas. We ended up at Building Eleven on the 3rd Floor (no elevators). My husband has a knee injury (torn MCL) which was a concern at the time of booking but we were told that Building 3 was only two levels and we could request bottom level if we needed to. By this time it was so late in the day, we decided to see if this was feasible and try to make the best of it for now and enjoy what was left of the day. Went down to the pool area at the other end of the resort to get towels (15 minutes walk) only to be told there was no towels available. Instead of making the trek back to our room, we waited 1/2 hour at the towel booth for our towels. No chairs available at the large pool so we trekked back to the "relax pool" by our building and finally relaxed in the pool with a drink before it closed down. After spending a full day at Building 11 we realized this was not doable (due to stairs and walking distances to restaurants and facilities). We decided to request another room which is a first for us. The day manager indicated he would try to find a room on a lower level and closer but did not expect to have one until late afternoon (Saturday). He asked that we check back with him after lunch on Saturday. They found us a room but could not assign it to us until the day Manager was available. We were finally assigned a room 4:00 (building 7 - lower level) and told we need to relocate immediately if we wanted the room. We said we needed to pack up our belongings and would be moved out in 1/2 hour. We then trekked back to Building 11 to pack and received a call from the day Manager as soon as we entered our room asking if we were ready to move. He also threatened that if we did not do this quickly, the room would need to be re-assigned to someone else that was waiting. We were out of the room within the promised 1/2 hour only to arrive at a lower level room where 1) the patio door lock was broken which affects the sensor for the air conditioner, 2) they were still cleaning and setting up the room, 3) they were replacing a leg on the bed and 4) the housekeeping supervisor was indicating that the room was for three people and could we wait for another day for a different room. More accommodation highlights: 1. 20 to 30 flea like bugs in our bathroom daily 2. Could not shower, bathe or go to the washroom without coming out with a welt or spend 20 minutes killing them off so we were not swatting them while we slept. 3. Blood smear (assuming from a dead bug) on the floor for our entire stay 4. Decaf coffee only (4 days of our stay) 5. No creamer or sugar (6 days of our stay) I could go on but I am tired of typing. In my opinion, I will never return to a Bahia. We made the best of the situation and have never experienced this type of service in any of our travels (and there are many).

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Beautiful bar terrace with excellent view

A beautiful resort, a bit challenging if one does not have a room in the main building, with an excellent terrace. The beach may not appeal to those looking for those endless sandy beaches with (most often) waves crashing on it, but it is a relatively small and calm bay. We wish we had more sunny days to enjoy it. Food was very good, excellent we would say, especially for those looking for some kind of 'mediterranean' food with lots of vegetables; not so much into the 'grilling' stuff.
