There were a lot of small issues that show this resort needs some repairs, my disappointment came from Air Canada vacations. Our flight was Tuesday and was delayed about 3 hours prior to pick up, then again about 2 hours prior to pick up. Approx one hour prior to pick up we received an email to say the flight was cancelled. The rep made some inquiries for us and we were picked up at the scheduled time and delivered to the airport. We waited in line for about 3 hours at the airport for anoth[... read more]er air Canada vacations rep. She gave each of us a voucher for the Beuventura Grand for the night and shuttled there. We were picked up again the next morning at 09:30 for delivery back to the airport. We were then put on a flight to Toronto (our destination was Calgary and was originally direct) we flew to Toronto then on another flight back to Calgary. Needless to say, it was an exhausting couple of days with no explanation whatsoever about what was happening.

Melia Puerto Vallarta: Friendly Staff
Hotel was in a very nice and safe area especially for walking to the marina watching the boats come and go including the cruise ships. The 2 specialty restaurants were good, but the buffet had a very repetitive menu. Beach area was small and had several people selling their wares. Room was clean and the service was very good.
The restaurants were using hand sanitizers and disinfectant for cleaning the tables, also sanitizing was available in the elevator, social distancing and masks were recomm[... read more]ended but very few people actually wore masks.

Crown Paradise Club: Not for singles, or families with older children.
We would not return to this hotel. It is totally geared to families with young children, and you need to be prepared to wait for almost everything. They had our reservation mixed up, and it took hours and hours to check in and finally get our room. The staff although pleasant and trying to help, were in most cases unable to assist as their English was extremely limited. The bar tenders, and bell men spoke the best English of all, however they could only help with limited issues. Phone down [... read more]to front desk or housekeeping was useless. The buffet food was adequate at best, and definitely repurposed day to day. The on-site restaurants, were also a disappointment. They pools, were nice, however the swim up bar was understandably in the adult pool, however it was in the "jacuzzi" part of the pool, and extremely HOT! If I had young children (3 to 12), I might consider returning for a few days, as the premises is geared towards the kids, and the kids pool area is fantastic.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Busy
The hotel was crowded and there was not enough staff. Just too many people coming into the complex. One pool area and restaurant was closed for renovations so that made the other two restaurants and pool areas crowded.
There was not enough staff to clean the public washrooms around the resort so some were in bad shape and not very clean.
We were in building 3 and just behind us was where the nightly entertainment took place and it was very, very loud. This went on for 1 1/2 hours.
The food[... read more] was tasteless and the choices seemed to be the same every night. The service was good.
The Sunwings rep did not show up until we were ready to leave so we had to go to customer services to find out when the bus was coming to pick us up for the return trip to the airport, as it turned we had to take a taxi to the airport, which Sunwings paid for.
This was not a 4 star resort.

Crown Paradise Golden: Excellent Resort
This is an excellent hotel. Very clean, Rooms are very nice, i had an ocean view room which was great. Food was Good. There breakfast buffet is good, i tried out several of there restaurants and no complaints about the food, my favorite was the French cuisine, and also El Salvador's.
Very close to downtown Malecon, and 100 Mexican peso will take you there in 15 minutes.
Very close to the marina you can walk there and lots of Restaurants there if you decide to eat out one evening. you c[... read more]an also see all the cruise ships coming and going from the resort beach.
I have not travelled anywhere in over 3 years due to the pandemic, and i wasn't sure what to expect in Mexico or at the Hotel Resort. Everyone was being themselves No masks anywhere, There is sun beds on the beach with is a distance from One another, but again everyone was being themselves and it was like the pandemic was over, My suggestion is always wash your hands and sanitize no matter what. The hotel has nightly shows which are very good, i saw two shows during my 7 days, the Mexican show, and Broadway.
I have stayed at this hotel several times and what brings me back to the same hotel is the service. all the staff is very friendly.

Riu Flamingos: Exceeded expectations: a fun and excellent resort!
We generally found the resort excellent! The requested type of room at the resort was granted to our three different parties and was very nice. Well kept for us.
The resort is beautiful and charming, in a striking setting in the Bay of Banderas surrounded by mountains, with many multi-generational Mexican families coming and going: we really enjoyed this aspect. The food is good, and the Mexican and Italian restaurants we found excellent: highly recommended.
The drink service is fine and p[... read more]articularly good in the Sports Bar.
Located on a beautiful beach on the Bay of Banderas, the bay waters coming in from the Pacific Ocean are warm enough and often gentle enough for swimming.
We enjoyed two weeks of beautiful sunsets. Through Nexus Tours, we booked a private four-person full-day tour of Puerto Vallarta ... its many zones and neighborhoods as well as a visit to a tequila factory: informative and we certainly enjoyed tasting the different tequila products!
If our approach was not to go to new places and try new situations, we would without hesitation return to the Riu Jalisco.

Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta: No complaints from us
Everything was exactly as we expected except the room was a little dated. However, it was very comfortable and the view was amazing. The staff are the most friendly and helpful we have ever had. There were always lots of chairs with umbrellas on the beach which is important to us because we like shade.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Great trip!
We had read the reviews and I have to admit I was skeptical, but we were pleasantly surprised with the entire complex! The staff are wonderful ! We stayed in the ocean front block (# 1) and it was fabulous. We have never traveled to Mexico in September and I guess the resort was more quiet than it would be in the high season which was a bonus .The weather was awesome every day despite being the rainy season with amazing lightning and thunder some nights ! The hotel is older which is fine with [... read more]us and the location is great with the town being a 15 to 20 min walk away , a bank and grocery store up the hill and a few shops right in front of the hotel . We went to one of the evening shows which was good. There was always a decent selection at the buffet so we never bothered with the specialty restaurants. The adult pool is huge and warm and I would guess being September , we never had a problem finding lounge chairs at the pool or at the beach.
A few tips , also mentioned in other reviews as well -
-Bring a wash cloth if you want one ( none were provided although we didn't ask as I brought my own )
- Bring a cheap air mattress floaty for the lounge chairs , they are kind of uncomfortable without one ( we just give ours away at the end of our trip )
- As always , bring a good insulated cup for cocktails
Notes -
- The keys are given to you on a laynard which I believe is new and they did not charge us for use of the safe key
- We did get some wifi in the room ( block 1 ) however we were very close to the lobby bar so maybe that was just lucky ( Free wifi only in some common areas ) so I wouldn't think this is typical although I believe you can purchase wifi if need be .
- Showers are not exceptionally warm if that matters to you
-Not sure where to get coffee before 7 so we brought a mini coffee maker and coffee as I get up early
- About 50 pesos to the Bucerias market place in a cab or a 15 to 20 min walk
- We did not go into Puerto Vallarta but I did hear that you could cab for about 50 dollars ( I assume US?) or take a bus for a few dollars
All in all I would say this was great trip and we would go back to the RDC again . We also decided that although we always head to Mexico in November, September is also definitely in the cards for next year . Thanks RDC ...Hope to see you soon :)

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Great Resort!
We just returned from the Royal Decameron Complex. We have been there numerous times and each time we come home feeling great and relaxed. This time was a little different as we experienced an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.4.
The staff was great in getting all the guests to a common area where we would be safe until it was safe to go back to the resort. We were very impressed with how the resort staff handled the situation.
The resort is doing some renos which will be beautiful when they ar[... read more]e completed.
When we arrived at the resort it was at 51% occupancy coming up to 91% by the time we left. Even though it was busy there was no line ups to get into the restaurants.
Most guests were very good at social distancing and masks were not mandatory
anywhere on the resort. There is hand sanitizer as you enter the restaurants and around the complex
We will return next year to our second home.
Special thanks to Carlos, Vidal, and Ruban for making our stay a memorable one.

Riu Flamingos: amazing resort
There was 5 different restaurants to eat from and they all were amazing. Everyone there, especially the workers, were all very polite and helpful. Resort was beautiful overall and kept much more clean than i had expected. Would definitely recommend to families and older couples but not sure about younger crowds who like to party as the night life is not great. Definitely more family oriented. Overall would definitely go again if traveling with family or kids.

Krystal Grand Puerto Vallarta: Doesn’t worth!
There are more disadvantages booking this hotel in particular and going to the area nearby in general.
First of all - nearly impossible to swim in the ocean safely, as there is a river flows into the ocean nearby, so along all twelve days staying at Hilton Puerto Vallarta, close to afternoon time water was becoming muddy/ yellow/clayey and in addition happened when it was a lot of debris came out the river to the ocean, including huge logs floating everywhere in the water. And the most crucial [... read more]and dangerous thing - a few time happened when !!!! ALLIGATORS where swimming alone the ocean shore and surprisingly rescue service representative couldn’t do anything as didn’t have any equipment, so basically it was restricted swimming in the ocean all the time.
Have to admit there are a lot of mosquitoes which bite all the time, even during the daytime, especially neat the pool at the Hacienda part and have no clue why hotel management doesn’t solve this problem. Another problem - this resort has cockroaches we had seen in the unit and out of it, on was dead appeared in our closet a few day before leaving so we were interested if anyone decided to remove it from there - answer NO, another one which was alive and was flying over our unit we had to catch by ourselves….
Thee are a lot of units defined as a garden view, which are actually a street view with a lot of noice even the night time. Also, the resort is officially nonsmoking, but there along about almost two weeks staying there we had seen in different areas people were smoking and security representatives didn’t do anything. And about the Hacienda part, which is adults only - it has a really nice garden with a pool and good music, but at the same time it doesn’t have a separate access to the ocean, hence staying at the beach there is no way avoid loud music throughout the day.
At the same time have to admit this resort has a good restaurant service as well as clean and tidy Hacienda part.

Riu Palace Pacifico: Amazing resort
We had a great experience and loved everything at the Palace, including our experience with Saskia Singh at Tripcentral and Sunwing. It is a beautiful and luxurious hotel.
From the adults perspective, I really liked the smaller scale resort and the opportunity to have connecting rooms, so we could have access to the kids but still have our privacy. Food was excellent with great available options for food and drinks - all high quality. The service and cleanliness were also superb. We really l[... read more]oved all the specialized restaurants, the Mexican was my daughter's favourite, my son gravitated towards the steakhouse with their 12oz offerings of ribeye and New York steaks.
Everyone was really attentive and focused on making our stay fantastic. No mosquitos or bugs of any kind, a fresh breeze from the ocean was the best.
Entertainment was good with the Michael Jackson show and the Mariachis being the highlight of the selection. The Riu party on the neighbouring Jalisco resort on Friday, was good and really well organized, as they were shuttle busses every 15 minutes back and forth from the Palace and the Vallarta resorts.
We also ventured on several walks along the beach and the close by town of Bucerias - very safe, nice and friendly. The beach was good and very, very clean. Many people enjoy the swimming here, but still not my kind of beach. I come from the Caribbean and the Pacific side is a different experience altogether.
Our kids (14 and 17) felt the resort was on the small side with a single pool with no walkouts to the pool, but they really had opportunity to relax and unwind. They also missed having a specialized Italian restaurant which is a staple in pretty much every single resort we have been in, but there was a tremendous selection of foods, specially beef, pork and seafood (so much quality seafood) - no drumsticks and thighs, only chicken breast on the menus for the chicken lovers.
Overall, one of the best resorts I have been in. We would come back in a heartbeat.

Riu Flamingos: Great Resort
We just got back from a week at Riu Jalisco. Positive comments: Great food, great staff, very clean and beautiful grounds. Only negative was going this time of year, there were alot of people so hard to get a table and get drinks at the bar. But otherwise, really enjoyed it and would recommend it.

Samba Vallarta: Amazing resort with unbelievably delicious food.
I stayed here for a week in May and can honestly say it was one of my most enjoyable vacations. The rooms, the resort, especially the staff were all incredible. Bernardo was very helpful and always friendly. He made us feel very welcomed during our stay and went above and beyond to make our stay more enjoyable.
The resort is still close enough to the city that you can go in to enjoy the local culture, but honestly the food here was amazing it was hard passing up a meal by being away somewher[... read more]e else.
There's plenty of activities on the resort as well and the event staff was fantastic. We don't speak Spanish but felt very included in all the games, Angel was awesome and we had lots of fun playing volleyball with him.
There's not much of a night life here which we were happy with since we had busy days and just wanted a nice resort to relax at night. We had a great time and I'd recommend this resort to anyone.
