Riu Palace Costa Rica: Worse experience ever!

We all came back with bed bugs bites all over us. Since day one we got the bites but was thinking it's just Miskito bites until we visited a doctor once we arrived as the bites were getting infected. I would not recommend this resort to anyone. On top of it, the tour operator was saying how safe Costa Rica is and that their police don't carry guns. However, we went to the town of COCO beach on the evening before we leave and the police (wearing two guns) forced one of our friends in the p [... read more]olice car, grabbing him by his neck because some store owner had complained that an item was broken in his store and since we were the only ones in his shop, then we had to pay for his damages. Even though we were on the opposite isle where the broken item was. Our friend had to pay for the item at the police station before he could leave. The police and the local are there to steel from tourists and they claim they do not speak English. Definitely not a safe place to visit.

Occidental Papagayo: Adequate Only

Very hilly and beautiful BUT no hand railing. Poor at replenishing water, coffee and towels. Requested supplies several times to no avail. Terrific breakfast and large enough buffet to find something to eat. Fabulous fruit! We got a good deal and paid little so it was good value.

Riu Palace Costa Rica: Amazing trip !!!

We absolutely loved our stay at the riu palace. Everything was perfect, the food was delicious and the staff were outstanding ! I was so impressed by how clean this resort was, everything is exteemly organized from the minute you walk in till the moment you leave. I would 100% stay at this resort again I have zero complaints other than wishing I would've stayed longer than a week ! Well done everyone :)

Coco Beach Hotel and Casino: A short walk to the beach

Located on a busy strip with a spa, casino and art store as next door neighbours, and restaurants, bars, clubs, gift shops and 3 supermarkets within walking distance of the hotel. The hotel itself was clean, staff were friendly and very helpful, and wifi was available in shared areas; i.e. lounge, pool, bar, lobby.

Wyndham Tamarindo: Breathtaking Views!

The Esplendor Tamarindo is located up a very steep hill overlooking playa Tamarindo and Playa Langosta. You will have breathtaking views from every single room and from the pool and dining areas. The staff is great here and always willing to go the extra mile. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The food and drinks are good, although quite expensive. There is a shuttle that drives you from the hotel down to the town of Tamarindo or to the Langosta Beach Club. The first shuttle i [... read more]s at 9:30 a.m. and the last is at 7:40. The shuttle is good and clean, however does not run often enough. There are shuttles every 30 min in the morning and then they go to hourly after that. We ended up needing to take a taxi quite often, which was $5USD each way. We had access to the Langosta Beach Club with our stay, which was an amazing bonus! Overall, we would likely stay here again.

Riu Palace Costa Rica: Costa Rica Hospitality at its Best !

For the first time visiting Costa Rica - this was a great introduction to Costa Rica and the Riu Palace is nicely located to take advantage of the many attractions.The Guanacaste province has one of the most beautiful beach areas in the world. The ocean is a bit rougher than the Caribbean side - so you need to be careful with children in the ocean. Most people seemed to stay at the pools. (Didn't see a lot of children there?) If you want to visit the volcanoes and rain forest - you will have to  [... read more]drive about 3.5 hours or take a tour - but it's worth it to see the diversity of the landscape. The hotel did advertise $1240 USD in Resort Credits for a 7 night stay - but this was a bit of a sham - the credits are only $10-$20-etc discount coupons to attractions - car rentals- etc. rather than a full amount that can be credited towards what you want - this was a bit disappointing. We did request to get moved to a better room with a better view and were accommodated by Max at the front desk - thanks for the friendly service Max. The food was the best I've had in any of the Caribbean resorts we've stayed at. The peddlers on the beach are non intrusive + very friendly. The entertainment was very good with professional dancers + local music bands. We would definitely come back.

Riu Guanacaste: Great trip

Nice staff all around. Loved our view of the jungle and the morning sounds we woke up to. This was awesome, and unique compared to our previous trips as we could hear / see Howler monkeys. Our room was a good size, clean, well kept and no issues with it. We had a great time at the pool while relaxing in the loungers or enjoying the atmosphere while in the pool. Drinks were good and service at the swim up bar was quick. Swim up bar area is 18yrs and over. Pool has several built in water loungers, [... read more] jet tub areas and a hot tub. Beach was nice (dark sand, not caribbean sand due to volcanic rock). Pacific side so no crystal clear waters off the beach. We did a boat tour and snorkeled elsewhere no problem. The food was fine, you wont go hungry. My best meals were at the Italian restaurant. Some elevators were down our whole 1 week stay.

Occidental Papagayo: Occidental Papagayo

Resort is stunning, has quiet ambient atmosphere. Beautiful beach and lovely pool.... Would love to come back! Staff is very helpful and kind. We had few out of resort adventures which we loved. We were very well taken care of! Thank you Occidental :) Pura Vida!

Occidental Papagayo: Great Service! Very Welcoming

Great service! All that staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Breakfast and dinner were always fantastic - less variety than some all inclusive resorts but I think better quality. Grounds were well kept and pools were very nice as they came around to take drink orders while you could continue to relax. Beach was clean but left a little be desired. Overall great report and would definitely recommend :)

Azura Beach Resort Samara: Goood hotel in Montevideo

Great location, very friendly staff. Cozy room and good maintenance. Pretty neighborhood with nice, small places to eat. BTW why the review must be at least 200 characters? It is unnecessary requirement in my opinion.

CC Beach Front Papagayo: Beautiful resort

This resort is very quaint, quiet and very clean. The staff are very friendly and always there to answer questions. The food was delicious, the booze was your typical booze, no shortages there! Unfortunately half the resort was not open due to some damage from hurricane Nate, the main pool was under repair. This resort lacks entertainment, there wasn't even a piano bar you could sit in or a lobby bar to hang out in during the evening. No entertainment at all, no shows to see. I was not a fan of the beach the sand was almost black due to the volcanoes, which in turn made the water dark and not appealing to me, I stayed at the pool. There were a lot of "no see ems" it an insect so tiny you can't see them but oh boy the bites sure are itchy, I lived on benadryl the entire week and for a few days after getting home. All in all we had a good vacation, but Costa Rica is just not my place to vacation. I enjoy the beach when I am away and I could not there. It was a lot of money for not a lot of anything. I am a bit disappointed but can check Costa Rica offor my list of places to travel to!

Riu Palace Costa Rica: Great Experience

My wife and I needed a relaxing getaway after a hectic spring and summer. This hotel was an unexpected delight. It was spotlessly clean. The food was first class, especially Kristal and Tokio - well presented and prepared. Buffet was very expansive and high quality. Bar stock was good quality brands - even the house wines were good quality (mostly Chilean). Staff was always happy & pleasant and accommodating. Room delightful and very clean, if a little musty (humid tropical climate) with a big balcony, well stocked fridge and a comfortable bed. Did not replace soap bar daily, but not a huge deal. We were on 3rd floor in south wing with a pool view, on the opposite side from the nightly entertainment venue, but it was very quiet, even at night. We would highly recommend this resort.

Coco Beach Hotel and Casino: Nice place to stay and enjoy

It’s ok if you are not looking for something too fancy ,close to all kind of restaurant with live music and the beach nice staff and very helpful and cool reception staff it was my second time and I may go back again ,,,,

Dreams Las Mareas Costa Rica: Nice resort but too remote

Very modern resort, some buildings require a lot of walking uphill to get to your room, I had to change rooms one time because after 3 days it's extremely exhausting. The food is good but no Costa Rican food except a couple things here and there in the buffet... the ocean is what you would expect in Costa Rica but that's not why people go to Costa Rica. Villas Sol: As expected

Rooms clean, staff accommodating and friendly, food same most days, everything as expected for the price. Got great excursions on the beach with Gilbert and Junior Loved the country, lots of wild life on site Stayed Nov 2-9, 2017

Villas Sol: Good Quality Resort

Thank you very much Tripcentral for providing me an opportunity to write a review on our recent stay at Villas Sol Hotel and resort at Costa Rica. I would give 3.5 star to this Hotel/Villas. Our stay was amazing and pretty well comfortable. Hotel: The overall Hotel view/looks and location was Good as we had ocean facing view. Pools: pools were small and ok. Food court: Everything was made on room temperature. No fridge or cold iteams(Milk, cake, coffee)availability. Staff: was very frien [... read more]dly and supportive but they know only Spanish. Hard time communicating with them.

Villas Sol: Your money's worth

You are paying for a 3 Star and getting a 3 Star. This is an older resort but has been maintained and in very good condition. The staff are very good, helpful and friendly. Smaller selection of foods on buffet, than expected. Overall good value and your money's worth.

Occidental Papagayo: Occidential Papagayo Costa Rica

The resort was absolutely amazing. We found that the grounds were well maintained everything was very clean, the food was excellent, our room was kept very clean. The two a la carte were excellent service very good food was fantastic. The beach unfortunately was not the best but understandable because of all the rain and hurricane nate but overall it was an excellent trip for us and would definitely go back to Costa Rica.

Dreams Las Mareas Costa Rica: Not a 5 Star Resort

I would probably give it 4 stars. Mostly based on the food. It was such a disappointment. I mean, how can you screw up hashbrowns? But they re-fried them so many times to try and not waste it that they ended up with a hard and cardboard tasting product. The variety of the buffet was not great either. The restaurants were ok, with the habachi table in the Japanese restaurant and the Italian restaurant being the best options. I would have reserved the hibachi table twice if I knew the other [... read more] options weren't that great. Although the hotel said they were 3 years old, the rooms seemed outdated. The housecleaning service was inconsistent. They forgot to give us back towels the one time we asked them to be changed, the turn down service was anytime between 7-930 pm, and the floors weren't cleaned each day, which was obvious since the floors were tiled. I still had a good time in Costa Rica, the warmth and the surroundings were beautiful! However, if you're looking for clear blue waters and white sand, this place is not for you. The sand was nice enough for me and although the water was not clear, it was still a nice temperature to swim in. I did not use the hotel's recommended excursion company, but used Alex on the Beach instead. They were cheaper and their service was much better. On the two excursions we did with them, there were only 4 of us on the tour, so it was practically a private tour! This was awesome on our Nicaragua tour, especially getting through the many many passport checks when we went through the border. We got through in less than 15 mins. While others who were on the busier tours, had to wait much longer, since they had to wait for all 30-40 passengers to go through the same checks over and over again. I would definitely visit Costa Rica again, but would not come to this resort again.

Dreams Las Mareas Costa Rica: Awesome resort

The entire resort is surrounded by a tropical jungle. It is perfectly laid out on the side of the mountain. Restaurants and food were top notch. Resort itself was only 3- 4 years’ old. Rooms were very modern and clean. Very little walking required in resort.
