Grand Memories Varadero: Grand Memories sanctuary. My home away from home

This resort is one of the very best i have ever been to! I have visited this resort many times and will definitely return! Although cuba is having a very hard time getting past the pandemic, the staff bends over backward to make sure we are well cared for! The restaurants are amazing, the pools are clean, pool towels are always available (unlike other resorts i’ve been to)! Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Wonderful beach 🏝️

The entire experience was very pleasant. Staff were very friendly and it’s a very family type of place. What I loooooooved was the beach which was even better than Pilar beach. Highly recommended. The only negative comment would have to be that there were no alcohol selection, other than that it was sooo wonderful 🥳

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Will definitely visit again.

We absolutely loved this resort. It was small enough that you could walk anywhere. Beach, pool or restaurants were all a short 3-5 minute walk. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Food was really good especially the bread. Made fresh daily. Only wifi available was in the lobby. Which is probably a good thing as our phones were used sparingly.

Grand Memories Varadero: Grand Memories

Hotel was dated and in need of repairs. Rooms are old and musty. Our first room did not have hot water and very little water pressure. The rooms were clean.The beach was nice and the food was good. They had fresh fish and chicken cooked on the grill each day. Food quality good. Ride on and off bus comes to the front gate. $5 cost so that was good.

This hotel is amazing family resort with excellent service, I strongly recommend to go an spend your vacation . The stuff working very hard every day to provide good service to everyone to your dream vacation to be very nice

Grand Memories Holguin: A fantastic resort for Cuba

Everything was great. Hotel was at a low capacity which kept a lot of things closed in the hotel which we understand. Staff are new to tourism and most dont speak any english but they make up for it with there smiles and there work ethic. Dont come if you want night life outside of the resort as there is now towns anywhere near the resort. If you want to enjoy the weather and the resort this is a great place to come.

Grand Memories Holguin: Very good

Very nice hotel, people there were super kind. No orange juice, no cola, but lots of everything else. The beach was a bit sea weedy but warm salt water. Warmer than the hotel cool pools. Had a pigs ear with the best beer. Perfect trip

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Tired Resort

We were unable to book an a la carte. Said nothing available until week after our stay. Yet other people we met went in and got a booking the same day and next day. Messages are very inconsistent. We definitely did not have a superior renovated room. No coffee maker as described in amenities. Air conditioner soooo loud. Requested a coffee maker - took 2 days - friend requested coffee maker after me and received within 2 hours. Hot water 2 out of 7 days. Shortages everyday from eggs to beve [... read more]rages. Feel like if you were not Diamond Club it was very difficult to get any service in dining room or book anything. Will not be returning and would not recommend.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Amazing Resort

Well it was my first time at this resort and I must say it’s gorgeous, the grounds were beautiful and well kept , pools were awesome and well maintained. Beach is wow !!!!! We stayed at the Sanctuary side (adults only) and the bungalows were older but clean , ya it could use a new paint job and tighten a few loose screws but overall very comfortable and clean !!!!! The food , well let’s just say I normally have issues with food when I go to Cuba but not this time , the food was delicious, maybe one meal was meh but for me to eat this was by far spectacular!!!!! Staff was very friendly and attentive!!!!! Only negative comment is the alacarte restaurant building needs an overhaul on the bathrooms (no toilet seats). I can’t wait to go back and I hope to see Rudy and Glendy as they were amazing people!!!!!!

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Needs updating

The Beaches in Cayo Coco are the best, unfortunately the hotel, food, alcohol choices & most staff did not meet my expectations, which when going to Cuba are not the highest to begin with. The entertainment was lacking and the line ups long.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: A 4 star it’s not.

Grounds were nice. Staff was very friendly and tried their very best. Food was very low grade and room was in bad need of repair. No water for showers for 3 days. Toilets didn’t flush properly in any of the washrooms, including our room, sliding door in our room didn’t lock properly. Internet was almost nonexistent. Had to kill 2 🪳 roach in my room. Very disappointed.

Memories Cayo Largo: Amazing Resort, amazing staff ! Will come back for sure!

I would like to share my amazing vacation experience after staying at the Cayo Largo Memories resort. I was travelling alone, but honestly, I was not feeling this way because, at the resort, you are immersed in a family-like and super friendly atmosphere. The animation team is amazing: dynamic, positive, and energetic! At the snack bar, tourists can get a daily bachata and salsa experience. Marcos Antonio Mendoza Martinez, who is a part of the animation team, is an awesome person and [... read more] dancer and will offer you a hand while teaching you the steps of the dance. It would be great if, in addition to the public dancing, there could be private lessons for tourists who are interested in sharpening their dance experience for a reasonable price. I am pretty sure there will be a line of bachata and salsa funs for it!!! ALL - resort, clients and the animation group members would get some benefits from this service. I would like to have a chance to say "hi" to all the amazing staff at the hotel—"you are the best!" I forgot to mention outstanding 3 beaches: at Memories, Sirena and Paradise ! It was an unforgettable experience! coming back for sure!

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Amazing Resort

For my first time in Cuba I was very pleased with this resort. The grounds are beautifully kept, the food was delicious and the staff was excellent. The entertainment was exceptional and they really keep the guests interacted with games at the poolside, exercises on the beach and music everywhere you go. I will definitely go again

Amazing experience and amazing crew. The music should be more diverse. I think more that they should announce in advance what activities will be scheduled the new day because we totally miss the only pool even of the week. We didn't know about the event.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Disappointed

Well let me say first that this was our first trip to Cuba and we were told that it might not be quite up to standards but it was worse than I expected. First, we were a party of 5 in 3 rooms. They housed us in 3 different buildings and told us to come back in the morning if we wanted to be moved to be in the same building. It took almost the entire day the next day to get moved. The rooms were relatively clean but missing items. No shower curtain in one, no glasses, no hand towels etc. Gett [... read more]ing these items was quite a chore and took several trips to the front desk. There are supposed to be 6 restaurants on site but 2 were closed and the ones that were open required booking and were booked up. We did manage to book for 2 nights which was also the limit. The rest of our meals were all at the buffet which had long lines for the grill and basically the same dishes every day. Much of the fruit was not ripe and surprisingly there were no bananas. The beach was ok but unfortunately it was cold (15 deg. C) and windy so we didn’t really stay on the beach long on those days. Swimming was closed due to the high surf. The weather improved at the end of the week so we were able to use the beach. The advertising for the resort said there were paddle boats, paddle boards and sail boats. I wanted to go sailing, however, even though I can sail, I was told I had to have one of the resort employees sail the boat which was just a simple catamaran. Maybe they think you are going to sail to Florida. There were no paddle boards available at all and only 2 paddle boats for the whole resort. There was also a severe shortage of chairs on the beach which resulted in people going to the beach early in the morning and “reserving” their chairs with towels or other items. We only managed to find 3 broken chairs. Many chairs were sitting empty with towels on them but we didn’t want to remove the towels. The resort should manage this better. The shows at night were rather repetitive basically with the same show and dancers every night with different costumes. This resort is quite large so there is a lot of walking. They do have golf carts running passengers around but they don’t run as frequently as they should do when they do come they are often full. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. They call it a 3-1/2 star but I wouldn’t rate it more than 2.

Memories Jibacoa: A pleasant and welcome Suprise

This resort was likely a great 5 star in its day. It is a beautiful property nestled between some picturesque hills and the shoreline. The facility is older and worn - however...it is maintained and very clean and the staff are what gives this a big cuba 5 stars plus. The food was plentiful and actually tasty (biggest surprise). Our bed was rock hard and the staff rectified the issue immediately. The clientele were for the most part 50 plus and quieter than at most resorts - you could hear yours [... read more]elf talk..at the pool restaurants, lobby etc. The entertainment was great and there was no over the top excessive noise or drunk rude people. The beach was sandy with some areas more with the tiny broken shells and coral pieces... overall - nice beach. The ocean is a snorkel paradise with an abundance of tropical fish and clear water. We really loved it overall... will definitely go back!.... now - that said. If you are looking for a newer un-aged property with parties and loud music - keep looking. If you want beauty with great food and staff and pleasurable relaxation with respectful older clients - Jackpot!

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Still drastically recovering from Covid

Unfortunately the Cuba we once knew was no longer represented in this resort. It appears that they are still trying to recover losses during Covid and only had the bare minimum. I will start with the pros: - the staff were fantastic and did what they could with the supplies they had - the grounds were well taken care of and beautiful - the pool was clean - the lounge area was fun - the al-carts were good However that is not enough to cover up the cons: - Our room smelled of mold and [... read more] the blankets were moth bitten and smelled rotten - the buffet was repetitive and not with quality food. We ate cause we had to but it was not an enjoyable experience - they only had rum and coke or coffee drinks. There was no variety or choices. The one day they had juice it was gone within hours - the gift shop offered nothing but cigars or rum - all in american dollars I have never left a review before but I chose this resort on reviews and did not think people were really representing the true state of the resort. Hopefully this will help someone make a better decision then we did.

Memories Cayo Largo: Nice resort

Maria and I were pleasantly surprised. Our room was great, the bed was comfy, lots of hot water in our nice bathroom. The food was good plus all the staff were very helpful. George runs a tight ship and do not forget to ask for a mega Dunya coffee. Oh yes let’s not forget the beautiful beaches, and the train ride. Thank you.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Incredible staff

You will not get a better beach i promise you. The staff are always amazing. The food is perfectly fine. I have been to this same resort at least 6 times, i always have a great time. If you are looking for a good holiday at a great price, this is it. Side note. The airport is small and efficient. YYZ to a mohito on the beach will take roughly 5 hours.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Not Great

We went in with low expectations as it is Cuba and we didn't want to be too optimistic. However, we unfortunately would not recommend this hotel to anyone we know. We travelled with our 2 year old and requested a crib 4x before arriving - we did not get a crib the entire stay even though we asked every day we were there. Our room had a broken AC unit and we asked every single day until the 6th day we got a room change, FINALLY. Everything is pulling teeth. The front desk people must be ex [... read more]hausted from everyone complaining, but their attitude made us feel like they didn't care about our needs at all, and WE were a bother by asking for basic needs. The first night we got there after a long day of travel, we went to the buffet which was an absolute CHAOS, no tables available or plates for 20 minutes. When we finally got a table and I asked for spites for our table to drink and they laughed. No sprite. I was like okay do you have any juice for my 2 year old? Orange juice? No. Apple juice? no. Any juice? no. We found out they don't do any juice at night only at breakfast. YIKES. The food was okay, we were never hungry. But you do eat the same things every single day. The wifi is complete garbage but we expected that. The first night I went up to the front desk to ask if they could help me connect to the wifi because it wasn't working and again they laughed and said yeah it doesn't work sometimes. My husband and I got completely eaten alive by the bugs in the bed sheets. Not sure if they were bed bugs or sand fleas but it made sleeping impossible. Combined that with no working AC. We did not have a great time while in the room. I think that's completely unacceptable. Not once did they apologize or try to make things right. We always felt like we were an inconvenience or a burden for asking for help. Everyone we met at the resort said this is not a good hotel at all, we bonded over the suffering together. Everyone said the motto of Memories Flamenco is that the front desk will always tell you to come back at shift change, that way it's someone else's problem to deal with. Overall we made the best of a not great situation, but will not be returning to this hotel in the future. I would much rather pay a few hundred dollars a person more and go somewhere with better resources and customer service.
