Dreams Sapphire Resort and Spa: Amazing resort

Everything about this resort is amazing, from the staff, the room, the beach, the food, the drinks. Your drinks are served to you on the beach by super people. Thank you Jesus and Gabriela for never allowing us to be without a drink. The rooms are cleaned daily, the mini bar replenished, nightly entertainment was good.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great resort!

Great hotel, rooms clean. Entertainment was very good. The food was excellent.trolly to take you back and forth, especially if trouble walking. I'll be going back!. I've recommended this place to friends and family. The staff was the best!

Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya: Simply Amazing!!

From the moment we arrived the staff couldn't do enough for us. This was a dream vacation for myself and my two girls. The food, the hotel, the grounds....everything was perfect. I would go again in a heart beat!

Generations Riviera Maya: Generations Riviera Maya

One of best resorts I've been too, food was awesome and service was great, unfortunately not knowing Spanish slowed some service down but overall a top rated location. Shuttles between the Adult section and Family section, but also can walk if you enjoy a 10 - 15 minute walk. I would definitely recommend this to everyone.

Generations Riviera Maya: Generations is Very Kid friendly

This is a very beautiful hotel but if you don't have kids i recommend staying next door at the el dorado. Generations has amazing modern rooms with an extremely comfortable bed and a neat balcony pool. There is shuttle service that runs all day in between generations and el dorado, we spent alot of time at el dorado because it is an adults only resort and the pool and bar were a bit more laid back. We were woken every morning at generations by screeching kids playing on the blow up pool toy righ [... read more]t below our room, generations pool bar was overrun by children and was tough to enjoy a cocktail while sitting in the pool. After dinner the entertainment was a disney movie by the pool but at 9 pm they had some pretty cool shows on the terrace. The food on the other hand was absolutely amazing, 5 stars at every restaurant, the only buffet was the chefs kitchen and everything there was great. Make sure to visit jo jo's bar and restaurant, their lunch and dinner menu are superb and we even enjoyed their bbq beach burgers at noon and the swings around the bar were a nice touch.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Great location

The resort is ideally located along a stretch of the ocean that makes all amenities easily accessible for all guests. There were many guests in a wheelchair or using crutches for a variety of reasons. The landscaping was simple but lovely. 3 pools all located near the beach with easy access to food and drinks. The staff are constantly sweeping, pruning and keeping the resort very very clean. Service was very good and the food was EXCELLENT. The rooms were large with a large bathroom and a shower with excellent water pressure. Comfortable beds. Only 25 minutes from the Cancun airport also a huge convenience. The only downfall was the night life. The shows were terrible, I've travelled to 15 all inclusives over the past 20 years and I can honestly say that the shows were the worst that I've ever tried to sit through. Some duos who played in the lobby area in the evening were OK but the music was very low key and put everyone to sleep. There were technical laptop and sound issues with a couple other events that didn't start or started 45 minutes late. So the evenings were boring and too quiet. If you want quiet and a beautiful resort during the day with huge pool and great food - this is the resort . The beach was great and the tractor cleaned up piles of seaweed every morning. It was so windy all week with red/yellow flags blowing all week. Sometimes it was hard to sit on the beach with getting sandblasted.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Amazing Resort

I loved the Barcelo Maya Resort - I just came back from a week long stay and it was great. The resort has everything you need and you are a 20 minute drive from all the major attractions. I also suggest walking up to the highway and crossing the street there is a gorgeous Cenote called Kantuchi. I highly recommend it. The food was better than I expected but some of the restaurants were underwhelming. I highly recommend the Tokyo Restaurant as well as the Mexican one.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Paradise!

Super-clean and well run resort. Supervisors present in every area. Barcelo Maya Colonial is a well-oiled machine offering plenty of services and attractions for families. Cannot say enough about how beautiful this property is and the amazing beach. We will certainly be returning next year and would recommend this resort to anyone!

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Lovely resort however.....

The resort was generally nice. Layout was interesting. Had to always show our cards for proof that we were part of the resort. A bit annoying. Wrist band would have been better as card not always easy to carry. We were in villa 18 - farthest away from the beach - a good 8-10 minute walk. The villa itself had a spacious room however construction for villa 19 was underway so it would wake us up early each morning. 6 days of construction (mon-sat) - early morning into evening hours. We  [... read more]were not in our room for the day for the most part as too far to walk back and forth with little ones but definitely felt the noise in the morning and evening. If kids had to nap then it would have been an issue. No views from any rooms worth talking about. Resort is situated in a forest type of area which is lovely but no "beach/ocean" views which we were told prior to booking but did not realize overall effect of NO nearby ocean from our room. Rooms were clean but toiletries were abysmal and no matter how many times we asked, we could not get shampoo refills. Used soap etc to make up for it. Toiletries were poor in quality. Food was absolutely outstanding. Service in the restaurants were very good for the most part. BUT can you believe that after spending all this much money for an all inclusive, you would need to pay $7 for a latte at Starbucks as not included (only did it once) and had to search and search for a coffee for the morning and late afternoon. And to be rudely told at the juice bar that coffee is only available at the starbucks for a fee. We found a couple of other places that would often run out of milk or not be hot enough but oh well. Room coffee not tolerable. The spa was good - very expensive - have experienced better however still made use of it. I personally had a massage but was left with a wicked headache from the head massage that lasted two days and although I reported it to the spa staff they could care less. The rest of the family had great massages. Front desk service was ok - surprised that no one really smiled and surely did not feel welcomed and felt as if we were intruding. So basically avoided them as much as possible. Activities staff were lots of fun - however looking for meals as they were not allowed to ask for food so needed us to purchase on their behalf. Felt a bit slimy but I guess ok. One day they had beautiful coconuts with drinks - when we went to get ours they informed us it was $5 US per drink. Absolutely cheesy given that we are supposed to be at an all inclusive. Not a place to go if you are a family that likes the beach. Rocky and small. However kids loved it and we managed to walk down the beach areas over the rocks so overall ok not brilliant. Went to neighbouring resorts to enjoy the beach on days that were ocean rough. Beach chairs ok not super comfortable but met our needs. Pools are beautiful. Could not get a chair by the pool but that's ok as we preferred the beach. Overall, we did relax and enjoy - the walking was good for us for the most part.Would I go back again - not to this particular resort but definitely to an Azul property that has a beautiful beach as this is our second Azul property and the food has been outstanding. Both Azul properties we have been to have had poor beaches. Will keep searching.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Amazing Resort!

Service and Food exceptional! Grounds amazing ! Beach beautiful but not great for swimming shallow and dirty. Rooms a little dated Beds are comfy!! No bugs anywhere!!! Bonus! Had a great time would recommend! Suggestion would be to put more chairs around outside the Black and White Bar . And other areas so people could sit outside at night and enjoy the night breeze. Area for non smokers would be nice as well.

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Another incredible stay!

Our family just returned from our 4th Royalton stay and we can’t praise this resort experience enough! The resort is so clean, the food is incredible and the staff is out of this world. There is so much to do and even if you want a quiet afternoon away from it all, you can find that too! Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Wonderful Experience

The resort was beautiful and the beach was amazing! We have never experienced better service at any resort anywhere. All the staff were very friendly and super attentive. Service on the beach was A+. Grounds were extremely clean. The live entertainment each night was great, the bands had everyone up dancing.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Great Resort!!!

The resort itself was absolutely beautiful!! Food was excellent. Rooms are getting a bit dated but all in all an amazing time for both families and couples getting away. I'd suggest if your a couple going to this resort upgrading to the adults only select club, as the main pool was packed with kids. Upgrading allowed your own private adults only section on the beach as well your own pool.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Wonderful Vacation!

This was our first time to an adult-only resort and we loved it! We enjoyed the quieter less chaotic buffet restaurant (although service was inconsistent) as well as the lobby bar and lounge areas. The pools were also much quieter with the majority of people resting and reading. If we wanted more activity and energy, we hopped on the shuttle and visited the other three sister resorts to check out their evening entertainment. We really enjoyed having access to four different resorts. The shut [... read more]tles came frequently and were usually no more than a 5 min wait. We skipped the Sian Ka'an private beach section and instead, took a second shuttle from the Akumal lobby to the infinity pool and adult only section at the far end of the beach. Excellent outdoor restaurant and bar service there as well. Nice lagoon to wade in or do a bit of basic snorkeling. Infinity pool was too cold but we prefer the beach and ocean anyways. Next time, we may not stay at Sian Ka'an and instead stay at in the adult-only building on the Akumal side and go over and enjoy the buffet at Sian Ka'an. The rooms featured on the hotel website look newer and nicer ie. double sinks. We weren't that impressed with the room decor for a 4.5-5 star hotel ie. tired looking couch, small bathroom and dreary colours. We had a penthouse suite and enjoyed the upper deck and tub although it's too hot to use it during the day. It also provided more privacy than the lower terraces.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Not bad

This resort had great food. The room was nice but a few things where broken ( bathroom sink didn't drain, balcony door handle fell off, lights in the hallway broken). The staff where impeccable and pleasant. The resort was very clean and the pools where wonderful. Remember to get all your shots, and bring Imodium and pepto- you probably won't get sick at the resort but if you do tours you may be exposed to contaminated food or water- including water you swim in.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: We had a amazing trip

As our second time @ Iberostar Paraiso beach, the weather was great, sunny most of the time with a few clouds. The food is very good, a lot of choices. The bedroom very clean, comfortable bed and good service. The staff very friendly, always very helpful. Only comment, if you do not wish to buy a membership do not accept a free breakfast to next door resort, waste of time. But you could get a free massage.

Unico 20 87 Hotel Riviera Maya: Great with lots of potential!

We stayed @ this resort from Mar 5 -12 2017.We have been to the Mayan Rivera on 8 previous occasions and have stayed at Secrets Maroma, Fairmont Mayakoba and Iberostar Grand Paraiso. Knowing that this was a brand new resort we booked with the knowledge that some things might not be comparable to the other resorts. First off, we cannot say enough good things about the staff and the treatment we received from them. We found all of the staff to be friendly, attentive and professional. Out of all [... read more] the resorts we have stayed at the Unico staff are at the top of the list. Special thanks to Alberto our butler who took care of all of our needs/requests and then some. Alberto was always checking with us on a regular basis to see if we needed anything and followed through on everything. On two occasions he surprised us with bubbles in the hot tub which we welcomed after spending all day at the beach.Thanks to Isabel at the Bar Balam for her great service and to the lady (didn't catch her name) who cooked our eggs at the buffet. We spent most of our time at the beach and found the service to be acceptable. The day we arrived it was pouring rain so we didn't go to the beach until the following day. We were disappointed with the size of the beach and the amount of seaweed that had collected. We returned the next day and to our surprise the staff had done an amazing job of raking up all the seaweed which improved the beach considerably. The beach has great potential and when it is finally cleared of bush and the palapas (umbrellas were a pain) have been added it will be fantastic. We stayed in building 5 on the third floor. We liked the location as it is close to the beach. The view was good but the fourth/fifth floors would provide a better view. We were glad that we did not choose a swim out room as there is very little privacy. We found the beds to be comfortable and the room cool to our liking. We don't watch much TV but when we did the signal was constantly being lost. Rooms were cleaned daily and any extras (hangers, soap,towels etc.) requested were provided with a quick response. Room was quiet for the most part but could hear furniture being moved above us on occasion. We liked the grounds and when the vegetation/palm trees grows in it will look great. Lighting at night was good but not intrusive. Didn't spend a lot of time at the pool but when we did the service was good. Everything is new so no problems with the loungers or cushions. On one occasion we had to look for towels and water but did find them at another location near the pool. As said in a previous post the music at the pool was far to loud and intrusive and the choice of music could have been better. Personally we were there to relax and would have preferred to listen to something else other then techno!. If you want quiet go to the beach. So far as the food was concerned we found the buffet to be similar to other resorts except this one always had fresh fruit and produce. Service was good and friendly. We found that the quality of the food improved every day. Towards the end of our week lunch at the buffet was better than dinner at the a la carte. On some occasions the food was luke warm or cold. We never made reservations at the a la carte and had no problem getting in when we wanted.This might have been due to the recent opening and not as many people being at the resort. Food was good but not great and on some occasions the main dish was hot but the sides were cold. We ordered cappuccino at the Italian restaurant and it was cold. Steak was okay but not great. Special thank you to our waiter Jose @ Cueva Siete for insuring that my food allergies were brought to the chef's attention. Tried the spa and we had good massages. It was part of the promotion at 20% of the posted price so it cost us $36.00 US each for a one hour relaxing massage. We were not impressed with the hydrotherapy. The spray was so intense it actually hurt. Never had hydrotherapy before and there was no information or explanation provided by the staff to tell me the procedure or what to expect. Basically he just pointed to what room I was to go into next. Also no liquid soap in the showers or hot water. Had drinks at the bar lounge after dinner. Music appeared to be techno pop and way to loud for a lounge especially when it's near the front desk. Would have turned me off had it been playing when we arrived for check in. Other resorts we have stayed at have a dedicated disco or bar for the party crowd but the lounges are usually more mellow. All in all we think that this resort has great potential and in a couple of years, when everything is finished, the beach is cleaned up, the staff is more experienced and food in more consistent it will be a great resort. In the future we would like to return but feel apprehensive the prices will be inflated. Right now we think that it is overpriced given that it is lacking in several areas.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Nice place, lack of service

We really liked the location and hotel. It was well maintained and the rooms were nice. What was really disappointing was the lack of service. They need way more staff to reduce wait times at the restaurants and to provide quicker service around pools. The pools also weren't heated so they were to cold to swim in on cooler days.
